• PHP or JS to connect with fingerprint scanner save to database

  I have a project to set profile user and save all data to database include fingerprint also. i don't what i should start, I have USB finger scanner already to test. What i think: i should have a input box to read data from USB finger scanner than i should create a function to upload it database. but with this thinking i meet problem: i don't know data that get from USB finger scanner is image or data? if image, how i can read it to input box to save to database ? I need to wait for both the DOM to load and for the Ajax call to complete before I can use the data to display it on the page. Can an Ajax call ever complete before the DOM has loaded?   I have an application created with PhoneGap and Backbone. I upload a file as JSon and my server receive data like this : data:image/jpeg;base64,/9j/4AAQSkZJRgABAQAAAQABAAD/... I'm trying to write the file like this : File.open("#{Rails.root}/public/images/#{self.id}.jpg", "w+") do |f| f.write(data) end It's not working and I don't know what to do. When I'm trying to open the file I have this message "Not a JPEG file: starts with 0x64 0x61". Do you have a solution?

  I have an array containing the contents of a MySQL table. I need to put each of these contents into curl_multi_handles so that I can execute them all simultaneously Here is the code for the array, in case it helps: $SQL = mysql_query("SELECT url FROM urls") or die(mysql_error()); while($resultSet = mysql_fetch_array($SQL)){ $urls[]=$resultSet } So I need to put be able to send data to each url at the same time. I don't need to get any data back, and in fact I'll be having them time out after two seconds. It only needs to send the data and then close. What are the best parameters (ie: --single-transaction) that will result in the quickest dump and load of the data? As well, when loading the data into the second DB, is it quicker to: 1) pipe the results directly to the second MySQL server instance and use the --compress option or 2) load it from a text file (ie: mysql < my_sql_dump.sql)

  I have 4 tables built with JOINS and I would like to SELECT DISTINCT rows on the setsTbl.s_id so they always show regardless if there's relational data against them or not!. This is what I have at present which displays the data but doesn't display all of but not the entire distinct row!   I want to rewrite TCP/IP streams. Ettercap's etterfilter command lets you perform simple live replacements of TCP/IP data based on fixed strings or regexes. • Using Large Arrays in VB.NET

  I want to extract large amounts of data from Excel, manipulate it and put it back. I have found the best way to do this is to extract the data from an Excel Range in to a large array, change the contents on the array and write it back to the Excel Range. I am now rewriting the application using VB.NET 2008/2010 and wish to take advantage of any new features. Currently I have to loop through the contents of the array to find elements with certain values; also sorting large arrays is cumbersome. I am looking to use the new features, including LINQ to manipulate the data in my array. Does anybody have any advice on the easiest ways to filter / query, sort etc. data in a large array. Also what are the reasonable limits to the size of the array? ~Many Thanks

  I often find myself storing data in a mysql database, and then wanting to display all sorts of stats about my data, specifically stuff like 'how many rows do I have for this date, or that date'. Does anyone know of (or could write) a good tutorial on this subject? Ideally a good tutorial would overview: Best practices when storing the data (i.e. what formats to use, how to use them servertime vs. generated time, etc.) Best practices when selecting data from the database with php (i.e. how to sort rows by date, how to retrieve only rows from a certain date, or a certain hour, etc)..   Hi, We have a web application that creates a dynamic PHP page with all the MySQL stored details a user has entered via a number a forms. So far so good, but we want this information stored some how to be refereed to at a later date, as an administrator can make changes to the data, which reflects on calculations that are worked out from this saved data. When going back over this saved data we need to be able to see all the information submitted for that particular calculation, so if that data has changed we will see what is was relating to that calculation. Now we have thought about maybe a snapshot when the calculation is done, pdf of the webpage or something similar would do, but is this simple to do? I hope this makes sense...

I'll attempt to simplify the data as much as possible here. Assume that the following table structure represents the data that my existing complex query has already selected (here ordered by date): +----+-----------+------+------------+ | id | remote_id | type | date | +----+-----------+------+------------+ | 1 | 1 | A | 2011-01-01 | | 3 | 1 | A | 2011-01-07 | | 5 | 1 | B | 2011-01-07 | | 4 | 1 | A | 2011-05-01 | +----+-----------+------+------------+ I need to select from that data set based on the following criteria: If the pairing of remote_id and type is unique to the set, return the row always If the pairing of remote_id and type is not unique to the set, take the following action: Of the sets of rows for which the pairing of remote_id and type are not unique, return only the single row for which date is greatest and still less than or equal to now. So, if today is 2010-01-10, I'd like the data set returned to be: +----+-----------+------+------------+ | id | remote_id | type | date | +----+-----------+------+------------+ | 3 | 1 | A | 2011-01-07 | | 5 | 1 | B | 2011-01-07 | +----+-----------+------+------------+ For some reason I'm having no luck wrapping my head around this one. • php web based portal authentication through IP.

  i have a web portal running which involves basic data entry. The issue being that this is highly sensitive data. And the credibility of the data entry personel is very low. Therefore i have implemented recording of IP when an entry is made. The Problem i am facing is if this if this person starts forwarding his IP from a proxy server then i am unable to track authenticity of the data. How do i detect if the IP forwarding is happening/ get the real ip address of the person.
