  • UITabBarController with viewControllers utilizing different orientations?

    Hi I can see that this is something that has been troubling a lot of people:/ I have a UITabBarController that has 4 viewControllers, all of type UINavigationController. One of the navigationControllers gets a viewController pushed onto its stack, this viewController should be presented in landscape mode/orientation. The viewController is a graph, it is the absolutely only place in the app where landscape makes sense. (I hide the UITabBar when this is presented to not lead the user to believe this will work everywhere) To make a UITabBarController respond correctly to changes in orientation all its viewControllers need to return the same value from the delegate method: - (BOOL)shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)interfaceOrientation So to accomodate this behavior I have implemented this method in all the viewControllers belonging to the UITabBarController: - (BOOL)shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)interfaceOrientation { NSUserDefaults *defaults = [NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults]; BOOL canRotate = [defaults boolForKey:@"can_rotate"]; return canRotate; } The "trick" is now that when my can-be-landscape viewController is pushed I do this: - (void) viewWillAppear:(BOOL)animated { NSUserDefaults *defaults = [NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults]; [defaults setBool:YES forKey:@"can_rotate"]; [defaults synchronize]; } and when it is popped, I do this: - (void) viewWillDisappear:(BOOL)animated { NSUserDefaults *defaults = [NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults]; [defaults setBool:NO forKey:@"can_rotate"]; [defaults synchronize]; } This works really well. When the viewController is on the stack I can rotate the device and the view follows. The problem is however, that if the user taps the "back" button on the navigationBar while in landscape mode, thus popping the viewController to the previous viewController, this "old" viewController is of course also in landscape mode. To make things worse, because I set the BOOL to NO, this "old" viewController can not rotate back when I orientate the device to portrait mode. Is there a way to update everything so that none of my other viewControllers will be in landscape mode when I pop the can-be-in-landscape mode viewController? I am a bit worried that if this could be done from landscape to portrait it should also be possible from portrait to landscape, thus making my "hack" unnecessary.. but if it can not, then I am back to square one :/ Hope I am close and that someone could help me get there, thanks:)

    In Visual Studio 2008 (and others) when creating a .NET or silverlight application if you look at your project properties, it seems like you can only have one assembly name - across all configurations. I would like to compile my application as: MyAppDebug - in debug mode and just MyApp - in release mode Does anyone know if this is possible? Edit: It seems some people are questioning the reasoning behind the question, so I'll explain a little further: I'm working on a Silverlight application which gets automatically uploaded to our test site when I to a "build solution". The trouble is, the test team are now testing the online version, whilst I work on a new one. So, I want to have a url like .\MyApp.html for the regular version that the QA team will test and then .\MyApp.html?version=debug for the current version that I'm working on.

  • Execute codes in a different page but remain on the same actual php page

    I have a complicated problem here..I have codes to send mail using PEAR which i have tested in a php page called testmail.php. Now i have my actual application an a page called Cart.php where i have a button called Place Order. When i click on this button, it actually redirects to a url called : http://localhost/final/index.php?OrderSuccessful which actually displays a message on the page and sends an email. The problem is that when i put the code for email in Cart.php, i get errors. But when i put the url http://localhost/final/testmail.php it actually works. So i was thinking, is there a way to execute the codes from that testmail.php by remaining on the page Cart.php? include('Mail.php'); $mail = Mail::factory("mail"); $headers = array("From"=>"[email protected]", "Subject"=>"Your order has been placed "); $body = "lol"; $mail->send("[email protected]", $headers, $body); I get the error Assigning the return value of new by reference is deprecated

  • Jenkins plugin for different types of slaves

    We have some tests that need to be run on multiple types of specific hardware. Its possible that these tests might pass on some pieces of hardware but fail on others, and we want to know where they work and where they fail. So, for certain tests, we would like to provide a list of hardware they need to be tested on. We'd like to put all the needed hardware in a pool that Jenkins has access to, and then have Jenkins run the right tests on the right hardware, depending on the hardware list that comes with the test. And of course we'd like to keep track of which test worked where. Is there a plugin for Jenkins to be able to handle this sort of thing? Has anyone else solved this sort of problem?

    I am not sure how to approach this problem: 'Player' class mantains a list of Bullet* objects: class Player { protected: std::list< Bullet* > m_pBullet_list; } When the player fires a Bullet, it is added to this list. Also, inside the constructor of bullet, a reference of the same object is updated in CollisionMgr, where CollisionMgr also mantains a list of Bullet*. Bullet::Bullet(GameGL*a_pGameGL, Player*a_pPlayer) : GameObject( a_pGameGL ) { m_pPlayer = a_pPlayer; m_pGameGL->GetCollisionMgr()->AddBullet(this); } class CollisionMgr { void AddBullet(Bullet* a_pBullet); protected: std::list< Bullet*> m_BulletPList; } In CollisionMgr.Update(); based on some conditions, I populate class Cell which again contain a list of Bullet*. Finally, certain conditions qualify a Bullet to be deleted. Now, these conditions are tested upon while iterating through a Cell's list.   • Different setter behavior between DbContext and ObjectContext

    (This is using EntityFramework 4.2 CTP) I haven't found any references to this on the web yet, although it's likely I'm using the wrong terminology while searching. There's also a very likely scenario where this is 100% expected behavior, just looking for confirmation and would rather not dig through the tt template (still new to this). Assuming I have a class with a boolean field called Active and I have one row that already has this value set to true. I have code that executes to set said field to True regardless of it's existing value. If I use DbContext to update the value to True no update is made. If I use ObjectContext to update the value an update is made regardless of the existing value. This is happening in the exact same EDMX, all I did was change the code generation template from DbContext to EntityObject. Update: Ok, found the confirmation I was looking for...consider this a dupe...next time I'll do MOAR SEARCHING! Entity Framework: Cancel a property change if no change in value ** Update 2: ** Problem: the default tt template wraps the "if (this != value)" in the setter with "if (iskey), so only primarykey fields receive this logic. Solution: it's not the most graceful thing, but I removed this check...we'll see how it pans out in real usage.     Hey all- I'm using QBFC to generate invoices in a Quickbooks integrating app. I'm getting an exception thrown for lineItem.Amount.SetValue(val as Double) when I try to enter a programmatically generated double. The following does not work: lineItem = invoice.ORInvoiceLineAddList.Append.InvoiceLineAdd Dim amount as Double amount = summary.dailySold * summary.dailyRate loggingTxtBox.AppendText("Amount is " & amount & vbNewLine) lineItem.Amount.SetValue(amount) The exception I receive is System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80040305): Invalid Amount format. at Interop.QBFC8.IQBAmountType.SetValue(Double val) The following works: lineItem.Amount.SetValue(20.3) Any suggestions?     In my c# Windows Forms application (.net 3.5 / VS 2008) I have 2 settings files resulting in one user.config file. One setting file consists of larger data, but is rarely changed. The frequently changed data are very few. However, since the saving of the settings is always writing the whole (XML) file it is always "slow". SettingsSmall.Default.Save(); // slow, even if SettingsSmall consists of little data Could I configure the settings somehow to result in two files, resulting in: SettingsSmall.Default.Save(); // should be fast SettingsBig.Default.Save(); // could be slow, is seldom saved I have seen that I can use the SecionInformation class for further customizing, however what would be the easiest approach for me? Is this possible by just changing the app.config (config.sections)?

    Hi, I need to remove elements from the middle of a std::vector. So I tried: struct IsEven { bool operator()(int ele) { return ele % 2 == 0; } }; int elements[] = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6}; std::vector<int> ints(elements, elements+6); std::vector<int>::iterator it = std::remove_if(ints.begin() + 2, ints.begin() + 4, IsEven()); ints.erase(it, ints.end()); After this I would expect that the ints vector have: [1, 2, 3, 5, 6]. In the debugger of Visual studio 2008, after the std::remove_if line, the elements of ints are modified, I'm guessing I'm into some sort of undefined behaviour here. So, how do I remove elements from a Range of a vector?

But if user clicks to home page link while action page is loading , browser does not go to home page , until action page is completely loaded . First of all what is the reason of this ?   • PHP specifying a fixed include source for scripts in different directories

    I am currently doing unit testing, and use folders to organize my test cases. All cases pertaining to managing of user accounts, for example, go under \tests\accounts. Over time, there are more test cases, and I begin to seperate the cases by types, such as \tests\accounts\create, \tests\account\update and etc. However, one annoying problem is I have to specify the path to a set of common includes. I have to use includes like this: include_once ("../../../../autoload.php"); include_once ("../../../../init.php"); A test case in tests\accounts\ would require change to the include (one less directory level down). Is there anyway to have them somehow locating my two common includes? I understand I could set include paths within my PHP's configurations, or use server environment variables, but I would like to avoid such solutions as they make the application less portable and coupled with another layer which the programmer can't control (some web-host doesn't allow configuration of PHP's configuration settings, for example)

  • Same jQuery code returns two different results – Submit Button Text

    A lot of people know that it is important to use parameterized queries to prevent sql injection attacks. Parameterized queries are also much faster in sqlite and oracle when doing online transaction processing because the query optimizer doesn't have to reparse every parameterized sql statement before executing. I've seen sqlite becoming 3 times faster when you use parameterized queries, oracle can become 10 times faster when you use parameterized queries in some extreme cases with a lot of concurrency. How about other db's like mysql, ms sql, db2 and postgresql? Is there an equal difference in performance between parameterized queries and literal queries?
