• Inline Form Validation in Django

  Newbie request that seems difficult to implement. I would like to make an entire inline formset within an admin change form compulsory.. so in my current scenario when I hit save on an Invoice form (in Admin) the inline Order form is blank. I'd like to stop people creating invoices with no orders associated. Anyone know an easy way to do that? Normal validation like (required=True) on the model field doesn't appear to work in this instance. Thanks!!

  Hi there. I have a search page that has 6 textboxes which i pass as FormCollection to the action in the controller. I dont want to search for records if ther is no values in textboxes. Is there a way to loop through all textboxes in FormCollection without to check which ones have values in them? I am a student in the college and this project is part of my summer experience program. • Why does it make a difference where I include the jQuery script file?

  On my master page (for all pages in my site) I have a ToolkitScriptManager. On my content page, there are a series of hyperlinks and divs for collapsible functionality. The code to show/hide the panels work like the following: $('#nameHyperLink').click(function() { var div = $('#nameDiv'); var link = $('#nameHyperLink'); if (div.css('display') == 'none') { link.text('Hide Data'); div.show('100'); } else { link.text('Show Data'); div.hide('100'); } }); If I include a ScriptReference to the jQuery 1.4.2 file in the toolkitscriptmanager, the javascript code is executed incorrectly on the page (only the text for the hyperlink is changed, the div is not actually shown.) However, if I don't include the jQuery file in the ToolkitScriptManager and instead include it in the content page, it works correctly. I'm a Javascript/jQuery newbie, and this makes no sense at all. What's going on here?

I had try to understand searching for two days what does argv[1] means, but Im still no clear. Im a newbie en C++. • Embedding an existing exe file into another C++ program

  Is there a way to link an existing .exe file with other C++ source files during compilation? What I'm actually trying to do is to compress and decompress some files in my console program using LZMA(7zip) SDK but unfortunately it's very difficult to use for a newbie. There is a command line version of LZMA called 7za.exe and I am wondering if I can somehow embed it into my program and use it like a function. It can be easily used with system() function (which seems to be a very dangerous thing to use) but then if I send my program to someone who doesn't have 7za.exe in the right folder it won't work. I came across CreateProcess() function in windows.h header files but it seems to achieve what system() does in a more proper and advanced way. I don't know if it can actually link the exe file like an object file during compilation

• Python: re-initialize a function's default value for subsequent calls to the function.

  I have a function that calls itself to increment and decrement a stack. I need to call it a number of times, and I'd like it to work the same way in subsequent calls but, as expected, it doesn't re-use the default value. I've read that this is a newbie trap and I've seen suggested solutions, but I haven't been able to make any solution work.   I am trying to build a C# project (downloaded code) in Visual Studio Express 2008. I get the error (my translation): The type or namespace name "Allegro" couldn't be found. for the line using Allegro; I know the 2D graphics library Allegro, of course, but I can't find much information on how to use it in C#. It is being used for visualization in the project I am trying to compile. I also get the warning This reference couldn't be resolved. The Universal assembly couldn't be found. I haven't been working with C# before and and I barely know Visual Studio Express. These are newbie mistakes - but I just need a fast solution for this problem. Could someone provide me with a short step-by-step solution?

  I am an AX newbie, and I need to make a modification to the ProjTableWizard form code and have not been able to locate where I need to make the change. Essentially what I need to do is modify the part of the Wizard process when creating a sub-project. I need to figure out how a line is inserted into the smmActivities table, so that I can modify the “Activity Purpose” field (prefix it with the Activity Purpose of its parent Project from the ProjTable Form) following the “Finish” button click on the ProjTableWizard form. So far I have been unable to figure out how the ProjTableWizard form is triggering this insert into smmActivities (and how the Purpose field is being populated from the Wizard).   Linking to external file in Ruby on Rails I have a file I want to share as a link in my rails app. I create a link to it in the .erb file like this <li><a href="somefile.pdf">Some File</a> </li> When I select the link I get the following error. Routing Error No route matches "/pages/somefile.pdf" with {:method=:get} Do I really need a route for this? I really just want the save as dialog to popup. Just a link to a file that the user can open or download. What is the rails way to do this (rails newbie here)?

• WPF Custom Control with Image problem

  Hi all, I am quite new to WPF/XAML and I am currently facing a problem. I have a solution with two projects in it, the first project is a Custom Control Library with a custom Window form control inside. The second project is a WPF application using my custom window form. All work fine except for the form Icon. In the WPF application project I set my window icon property to "/ProjectTwoNameSpace;component/Resources/Images/Film.ico", and in the WPF custom control I try to show that image that way : <Image Grid.Column="0" Margin="3" Width="27" Height="27"> <Image.Source> <BitmapImage UriSource="{Binding Path=Icon}" /> </Image.Source> </Image> But it doesn't work, I get a error at runtime saying that the property UriSource or StreamSource must be set for my tag. Anyone can help me ? I think it's jsut a WPF newbie problem ^^

  Hi to all, first i would like to say i am Newbie in C++. As part of my master thesis i am writing a program in C++ which also get as parameters the variables m and d (both integers). Were d is the power of 2 (this means 2^d elements). Parameter m define the number of possible interactions between one element and the total group (2^d elements). The number of possible interactions is computed as following: \kappa = \sum_{i=0}^m\binom{d}{i} (at present i generate vector of vectors for 2^d x \kappa, but my Prof. would like me to create different statistics to different m's. My first though was to to generate a dynamic array of m arrays of different sizes... Then i though of defining a 3-dim array with the biggest needed 2d array, but also program speed is important (e.g d = 20). i would like to ask for your advice how to define such kind of dynamic array that will also be fast. • Handling session between two pages in iframe-based facebook app.

  I'm a newbie to iframe based facebook application and stuck with session related problems. There are just two pages in my app. First page got many fb_sig_* parameters from facebook platform but when I click a anchor to next page, those fb_sig_* were lost because this is just direct request from end user's browser not from facebook. So I found that http://forum.developers.facebook.com/viewtopic.php?id=52885. It was told that I should not using cookie and always append every fb_sig* to every anchor. This can be the only solution for my problems? Any side effect like session expiry problem?

On doing that, an custom popup (ajax popup implemented in javascript) will open. The fire_event("ondblclick") is not working for me. I also tried 'click' twice but that too is not helping.   hello. I am WCF pure newbie. I know this question could look like dumb. I used to write ajax with the Webservice. but on this project. I tried to use WCF for ajax. after I build the project. I try to call wcf ajax. and I can receive return successfully. But 10 or more minute after. I cann't receive return, and the ajax call the error function. and the fiddler return nothing. if I rebuild the project without any source modifying, I can receive ajax return successfully. such a weird situation. is their anybody who experience this? and know why ? • How to add a Page to Frame using code in WPF

  I have a Window where I have put a Frame. I would like to add a Page to the Frame when I click a button that is also on the Window but not in the Frame. There are several buttons in the Window and each click on a button should load a different Page in the Frame. Since I'm a total newbie on this WPF stuff it's quite possible that this approach is not the best and I have thought about replacing the Frame with a Canvas and then make UserControls instead of Pages that will be added to the Canvas. I welcome any ideas and suggestions on how to best solve this. I aiming for a functionality that is similar to the application Billy Hollis demonstrated in dnrtv episode 115. • lightweight cryptography toolkit(s) for c++ and python

  Hi, I'm looking to do some basic encryption of server messages which'd be encrypted with C++ and decrypted using Python serverside. I was wondering if anyone knew if there were good solutions that were simpler or more lightweight than Keyczar. I see that supports both C++ and python, but would using Crypto++ and PyCrypto be simpler for a newbie that just wants to get something up and running for the time being? Or should I use Keyczar for python and Crypto++ for the C++ end? The C++ libraries seem to have dependencies to hundreds of files.

• Xcode missing Command Line Utility section - can't start Foundation project template

  I downloaded the iPhone SDK from the iPhone dev center a couple of days ago and installed it yesterday. I'm following the Stanford iPhone development tutorials available on iTunes U. On Assignment 1B, the first instruction is to open a new Foundation Project template. The screenshot shows several sections in Xcode which my version doesn't seem to have, including the Command Line Utility section which the Foundation Project template is shown to be in. Does this need to be installed manually? I tried searching on Google with no luck. The fact that I'm an OS X newbie doesn't really help any either. Thanks in advance!

• How to build an easy Rails authentication with OpenID and OAuth1.0a-2.0?

  Hi, I'am looking for an easy authentication for my users mostly via facebook, but keeping OpenID and other OAuth alternatives as well. For the case if something will go very bad, I will ask my users to optionally provide their email address, which should be obtained via OpenID or OAuth if possible. The same thing is about their name. I am a newbie in Rails, so I started with Railscasts.com #160 (authlogic) and #170 (authlogic and OpenID), however, I had some problems trying to sign in with my Google Account. As I understand, it will take some effort to adjust #170 for my objectives. On the other hand, there is gem authlogic_rpx which will possibly provide me the needed functionality (see http://rails-authlogic-rpx-sample.heroku.com/signin). What would you do? Is it reasonable to put one more step (RPX) in the authentication logic?
