  • How to crop black bars or zoom on Youtube and other Video websites?

    Many desktop software (VLC, MPC) and have an option to 'zoom in' , 'crop black bars', or crop to a specific aspect ratio. How can we do this in Fullscreen on Youtube or other flash Video sites? I am the viewer, NOT the video's creator/publisher. iOS Can do this (double tap to zoom, which removes black bars, zoom depth not configurable). afaik, Desktop computers (and android devices), cannot do this on the fly. The only 'workaround' I've found is F11 and zooming of the entire web page - basically a fake full screen and zooming the web page beyond the screen size. Use Case: watching 4:3 flash videos from the web on a widescreen monitor. Looking for all creative solutions, including any software that accesses YouTube without using a web browser.

  • Cant install windows 7(boot problem)

    First of all, I cant boot my windows 7. I get a black screen with a cursor up in the left corner. So, I tried using windows 7 installation which I've put on my flash drive. To boot from the drive, I've changed the boot order to boot from the drive first. It boots but does not find any HDD to install the windows on(which is pretty logic, I dont boot the HDD soon enough for the installer). but if i put the HDD in front of the flash drive in the boot order, it will just try to load windows 7 and i will get the black screen again. I've tried putting the HDD first and clicking f8 a lot. All I've got is an error. Something about some software change. I dunno. Help me please, cant do anything with my laptop till then.

  • Hearing repeated sound in Linux mint Chrome Browser

    I am using Linux mint OS since an Year , I use to consistently download updates and install , I use chrome as a default browser , when ever I open youtube and watch some video , I listen to some repetition in sound ( say repeated lyrics of song ) while it is playing , In firefox it is working fine . What is the problem am I missing any plugin , AFAIK Chrome doesn't need a flash player plug in , It has a built in flash player . IS that the problem ? And also previously I was not facing this , recently I started using Cinimon UI centOS after this all these kind of problems started MY hard ware is 64 bit intel core i3 and also I have installed linux mint 64 bit Please let me know what is the problem and how to fix this .     Arch Linux shows a blinking cursor instead of a booting installer. I ran sudo dd if=archlinux-2010.05-core-i686.iso of=/dev/sdb1 and checked the MD5 sums. I tried to boot it on two different PCs and got the same result: instead of booting GRUB — or anything useful, for that matter — it just showed a blinking cursor at the top left corner of the screen. The machines became unresponsive to any kind of input, the flash drive LED didn't seem to blink or shiver at all and there seemed to be no other activity whatsoever. I tried using another flash drive, but the machine completely ignored it, booting Windows "normally."

  • My first flash game bot, in java

    Okay so i love coming up with new programming challenges and ive discovered a new challenge. I would love to create a bot for a game that requires the user to click on a character and drag the mouse like a slingshot. Upon releasing the mouse the character flys across the game and hopefully lands in a scored spot(in my bot the highest score). the game looks like this an image of the game is here. http://i.stack.imgur.com/fThnG.jpg How would i go about calculating the location of the character and then the physics to know exactly where to drag the mouse to?

  • Broken web interface in WRT54G router

    I flashed my WRT54G (v3) from a custom firmware to the lastest Linksys one (v4.21.1) Now the internet/LAN works fine, but the web interface (http://192.168.1.1/) shows broken pages. I tried to manually navigating to the firmware upgrade page (by entering its URL), but it is broken too and not working. I tried a 30/30/30 reset twice, but the broken web interface still shows up. I tried to flash using the tftp2.exe application, which told me that the router didn't respond to the request. I tried to flash using the Windows commandline TFTP protocol, but I don't know how to supply a password on this prococol. (there is a factory default password ("admin") which I can't remove since the web interface is broken)

  • Enable live streaming on website

    I have a server colocated in a datacentre (dedicated 1Gbit line, SSDs, etc.) running CentOS 5.4 64-bit. I want to stream live video from a device (webcam, camcorder, whatever.) to my server which inturn can re-broadcast it on demand through a flash player (such as Flowplayer) so that more users will be able to watch the stream since the server is quite fast. Does a solution like this exist already (streaming software from live source to flash media server) or will I need to hire someone to code it? I see that VLC has an option to stream video.. will that be suitable in this case? Or is there a better way to do it? I don't want a browser based solution on my end. It'll be great if this can be done without running an X server but I don't mind either way. This will be running on a dedicated PC at home.

  • Remove encryption from USB flash drive

    It all started when I was attempting to format my PNY USB drive because it was full of junk. When it asked me what type of file system, I selected FAT but there was a checkbox below that said "Encrypt" and I accidently checked it and continue. I had no choice but to come up with a passphrase for it, and so I did, thinking I was able to remove that encryption. But after that at Disk Utility I thought I would find a "Remove Encryption" button or something like that but I didn't. I tried formatting it to remove the encryption but it gives me an error: Error Formatting, The device is busy" Detail>>> One or more block devices are holding /dev/sdb/. I am stuck, what should I do?

  • 12.04 backlight issue for Acer Aspire 5734z-4725 running on usb flash drive

    I have followed the fix found here: Backlight Issue However I can't use the sudo update-grub2 command as it errors with /usr/sbin/grub-probe: error: cannot find a device for / (is /dev mounted?). As this laptop's hard drive is shot, I can't install the OS. I have been able to get it to temporarily work with sudo setpci -s 00:02.0 F4.B=00. I'm new to Ubuntu, so if you know how to fix this please provided as much detail to what I would need to do.

    Problem: MacBook hard drive crashed and is ruined. I need to work on a music assignment on a program only available for Mac OS X and Ubuntu, and will not be able to get a new hard drive for the Mac before the assignment is due. I only have non-administrator access to Windows XP and 7 computers. Can I make a USB drive with Ubuntu on it so I can use my MacBook with this? Can I create this from a Windows computer? Please give detailed steps, if possible, for I am a noob when it comes to computers, and especially Linux.

    I have the last version of Chrome 5.0.xx. and my Ubuntu is also of the last version 10.04. What I usually do is to open two instances of Chrome and divide the screen into two parts. In one part my son watches cartoons in Youtube and in the other part I just read some news. So, sometimes, when I close some pages of the news I have being read the video which was being played in youtube crashes and immediately stops. I need to refresh youtube page and see the video again. What is the problem? How to solve it

  • USB connection issue

    Currently Im facing an issue when Im trying to connect any usb flash drive to my pc. ok, below is what happens to me: 1) I can connect usb keyboard and mouse without any issue. 2) however when i connect usb flash drive, there are 2 situations that are occuring randomly a) there is no usb drive mount in my computer, when device manager is checked, it shows error code 10, but is shown in disk management. b) my computer will have usb drive mounted, but when I click on it, it is empty. on right click the properties, the disk space show 0. (there are files within the usb) what i have done is: 1) run CCleaner to repair the registry, restart and try, but still not working. 2) uninstall the drive in device manager, restart and try, but still not working. 3) tried the port that connects mouse and keyboard, but does not work. anyone who experienced these problems before please guide me. any suggestions or solutions would be greatly appreciated.     I have a simple html page that embeds an swf, that downloads other xml, swf and image files. The total count of the requests reaches about 90. I am aware that it should take a while until the content is available and I am OK with that. All the needed files are hosted by two different providers in the US: flashxml.net/monochrome-demo.html and u1.flashcomponents.net/samples/8751/index.html From two different countries in Europe, the content shows up a lot later (almost twice as later) from flashxml, than flashcomponents. I've done mtr tests and the ping difference is about 40ms and the flashxml server load is below 1. Do you have any other suggestions as to what should I look at?

  • Problem with running a program from flashdrive

    I have a USB drive with two partitions in it, one hidden and one normal. I have an application which swaps the memory and runs the flash application in hidden zone. The problem is that the application works fine on Windows 7 and when run on Win XP, it swaps the partitions but doesn't run the flash applications but just keeps running in the background. I can see it in task manager. But, when I copy the application to desktop and run, it runs with no glitch. I was facing the same problem on Win 7 too, but it was running as required when I ran it using "Run in XP mode" and then I applied a SHIM and is running since then as required. The application is built using VC++ 2008. What might be the problem?

  • Ubuntu karmic 9.10 Live image on USB - not working.

    This is my configuration 4GB pendrive, HP ubuntu-9.10-desktop-i386 image file for live USB install pendrivelinux (u910p) and ubetbootin (unetbootin.sourceforge.net) machine T61 Earlier I have installed ubuntu live image using above two mentioned utilities, numerous times. But, on a 2gb kingston flash-drive. Today, i am trying to install the live-image on 4gb HP flash-drive. Both the utilities install, i can see the files in the drive, even the wubi-installer is working, it say press "reboot" to boot in live-ubuntu. But, when i press "reboot" it does not reboot my win7. Now, when i reboot, select boot-usb in bios, it say "no boot record". I am making my usb bootable, using the utility, even then nothing is working out. Did this a few times. Is 4GB usb a prob, does anyone knows how to partition my usb in 2-2gb and install it on one partition, and then use the live image. Is it possible.

  • Changing size of window when testing Adobe AIR mobile applications

    Im making a mobile phone Android application in Flash CS 5.5. I set the width/height of the stage to 480/800 px. When I hit CTRL+ENTER to test run the application I get a window that is 480/800 px. It cannot be resized. I want to change the size of that window WITHOUT changing the stage width/height. For example if I run the APK on a mobile phone with a 1000x1000 display the flash will scale automatically to fit the 480/800 stage to the 1000x1000 screen. So it should be possible to change the window size to 1000x1000 without having to change the stage width/height. But how?
