  • How to have other divs with a flash liquid layout that fits to the page?

    - by brybam
Basically the majority of my content is flash based. I designed it using Flash Builder (Flex) and Its in a liquid layout, (everything is in percents) and if im JUST embedding the flash content it scales to the page fine, and i have the flash content set to have a padding of 50 px. I put a header div in fine with no problems, but I have 2 problems, the first being the footer div seems to cover up the buttom of the flash content in IE, but it looks just fine in chrome. How can I solve this? I'm using the stock embed code that Flex provides, I tried to edit the css style for the div which I think is #flashContent and give it a min width and min height but it didnt seem to work, actually anything I did to #flashContent didn't seem to do anything, maybe its not the div i need to be adding that attribute to... And my other problem is I dont even know where to start when it comes to placing a div thats 280width by 600height colum to the right side of the flash content. If i could specify a size for the flash content, and the float it left, and float the colum right, and clear it with the container div id be just fine....But remember the flash content is set to 100% Scale (well techically 100%x80% because it looked better that way). Does anyone know how I can start to deal with creating a more complex scaleable flash layouts that includes other divs? ALL WELL MAINTAINING IE SUPPORT? IE is ruining my life. Here's the code I'm using: (or if it will help you visualize what im trying to do here's the page where im working on setting this up http://apumpkinpatch.com/textmashnew/) <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" lang="en" xml:lang="en"> <head> <title>TextMixup</title> <meta name="google" value="notranslate"> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <link href="css.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.5.2/jquery.min.js"></script> <script src="../appassets/scripts/jquery.titlealert.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> var _gaq = _gaq || []; _gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-19768131-2']); _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']); (function() { var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true; ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ? • Using Native Drag and Drop in HTML 5 pages

    - by nikolaosk
This is going to be the eighth post in a series of posts regarding HTML 5. You can find the other posts here, here , here , here, here , here and here. In this post I will show you how to implement Drag and Drop functionality in an HTML 5 page using JQuery. This is a great functionality and we do not need to resort anymore to plugins like Silverlight and Flash to achieve this great feature. This is also called a native approach on Drag and Drop.I will use some events and I will write code to respond when these events are fired. As I said earlier we need to write Javascript to implement the drag and drop functionality. I will use the very popular JQuery Library. Please download the library (minified version) from http://jquery.com/downloadI will create a simple HTML page. There will be two thumbnails pics on it. There will also be the drag and drop area where the user will drag the thumb pics into it and they will resize to their actual size. The HTML markup for the page follows<!doctype html><html lang="en"><head><title>Liverpool Legends Gallery</title><meta charset="utf-8"><link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="style.css"><script type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8" src="jquery-1.8.1.min.js"></script>  <script language="JavaScript" src="drag.js"></script>   </head><body><header><h1>A page dedicated to Liverpool Legends</h1><h2>Drag and Drop the thumb image in the designated area to see the full image</h2></header><div id="main"><img src="thumbs/steven-gerrard.jpg"  big="large-images/steven-gerrard-large.jpg" alt="John Barnes"><img src="thumbs/robbie-fowler.jpg" big="large-images/robbie-fowler-large.jpg" alt="Ian Rush"><div id="drag"><p>Drop your image here</p> </div></body></html> There is nothing difficult or fancy in the HTML markup above. I have a link to the external JQuery library and another javascript file that I will implement the whole drag and drop functionality. The code for the css file (style.css) follows#main{  float: left;  width: 340px;  margin-right: 30px;}#drag{  float: left;  width: 400px;  height:300px;  background-color: #c0c0c0;}These are simple CSS rules. This post cannot be a tutorial on CSS.For all these posts I assume that you have the basic HTML,CSS,Javascript skills. Now I am going to create a javascript file (drag.js) to implement the drag and drop functionality.I will provide the whole code for the drag.js file and then I will explain what I am doing in each step.$(function() {          var players = $('#main img');          players.attr('draggable', 'true');                    players.bind('dragstart', function(event) {              var data = event.originalEvent.dataTransfer;               var src = $(this).attr("big");              data.setData("Text", src);               return true;          });          var target = $('#drag');          target.bind('drop', function(event) {            var data = event.originalEvent.dataTransfer;            var src = ( data.getData('Text') );                         var img = $("<img></img>").attr("src", src);            $(this).html(img);            if (event.preventDefault) event.preventDefault();            return(false);          });                   target.bind('dragover', function(event) {                if (event.preventDefault) event.preventDefault();            return false;          });           players.bind('dragend', function(event) {             if (event.preventDefault) event.preventDefault();             return false;           });        });   In these lines var players = $('#main img'); players.attr('draggable', 'true');We grab all the images in the #main div and store them in a variable and then make them draggable. Then in following lines I am using the dragstart event.  players.bind('dragstart', function(event) {              var data = event.originalEvent.dataTransfer;               var src = $(this).attr("big");              data.setData("Text", src);               return true;          }); In this event I am associating the custom data attribute value with the item I am dragging. Then I create a variable to get hold of the dropping area var target = $('#drag'); Then in the following lines I implement the drop event and what happens when the user drops the image in the designated area on the page. target.bind('drop', function(event) {            var data = event.originalEvent.dataTransfer;            var src = ( data.getData('Text') );                         var img = $("<img></img>").attr("src", src);            $(this).html(img);            if (event.preventDefault) event.preventDefault();            return(false);          }); The dragend  event is fired when the user has finished the drag operation        players.bind('dragend', function(event) {             if (event.preventDefault) event.preventDefault();             return false;           }); When this method event.preventDefault() is called , the default action of the event will not be triggered. Please have a look a the picture below to see how the page looks before the drag and drop takes place. Then simply I drag and drop a picture in the dropping area.Have a look at the picture below It works!!! Hope it helps!!

    - by Girija
    Hi, I have described the my problem in the following lines. Kindly clarify me. In my application,I am using more than html page for displaying the content and each page have own .js file. When I call the html page then .js file also included. In the .js,I am using $('div').live('pageshow',function(){}). I am calling the html file from the .js(using $.mobile.changePage("htmlpage")). My problem : consider, I have two html files. second.html file is called with in the one.js. when I show the second.html, that time one.js is reload again. I am getting the alert "one.js" then "second.js" Please help me. Thanks in advance. Please point out my mistake. I have attached the code. one.html <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <title>Page Title</title> <link rel="stylesheet" href="jquery.mobile-1.0a2.min.css" /> <script src="jquery-1.4.3.min.js"></script> <script src="jquery.mobile-1.0a2.min.js"></script> <script src="Scripts/one.js"></script> </head> <body> <div data-role="page"> </div> </body> </html> Second.html <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <title>Sample </title> <link rel="stylesheet" href="../jquery.mobile-1.0a2.min.css" /> <script src="../jquery-1.4.3.min.js"></script> <script src="../jquery.mobile-1.0a2.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="Scripts/second.js"></script> </head> <body> <div data-role="page"> <div data-role="button" id="link" >Second</div> </div><!-- /page --> </body> </html> one.js $('div').live('pageshow',function() { alert("one.js"); //AJAX Calling //success result than call the second.html $.mobile.changePage("second.html"); }); second.js $('div').live('pageshow',function(){ { alert('second.js'); //AJAX Calling //success result than call the second.html $.mobile.changePage("third.html"); }); Note : When I show forth.html that time the following files are reload(one.js,second.js,third,js and fourth.js. But I need fourth.js alone). I tried to use the $.document.ready(function(){}); but that time .js did not call. :( :( :(

  • What's new in ASP.Net 4.5 and VS 2012 - part 2

    - by nikolaosk
This is the second post in a series of posts titled "What's new in ASP.Net 4.5 and VS 2012".You can have a look at the first post in this series, here. Please find all my posts regarding VS 2012, here. In this post I will be looking into the various new features available in ASP.Net 4.5 and VS 2012.I will be looking into the enhancements in the HTML Editor,CSS Editor and Javascript Editor. In order to follow along this post you must have Visual Studio 2012 and .Net Framework 4.5 installed in your machine.Download and install VS 2012 using this link.My machine runs on Windows 8 and Visual Studio 2012 works just fine.I will work fine in Windows 7 as well so do not worry if you do not have the latest Microsoft operating system.1) Launch VS 2012 and create a new Web Forms application by going to File - >New Web Site - > ASP.Net Web Forms Site.2) Choose an appropriate name for your web site.3) I would like to point out the new enhancements in the CSS editor in VS 2012. In the Solution Explorer in the Content folder and open the Site.cssThen when I try to change the background-color property of the html element, I get a brand new handy color-picker. Have a look at the picture below  Please note that the color-picker shows all the colors that have been used in this website. Then you can expand the color-picker by clicking on the arrows. Opacity is also supported. Have a look at the picture below4) There are also mobile styles in the Site.css .These are based on media queries. Please have a look at another post of mine on CSS3 media queries. Have a look at the picture below In this case when the maximum width of the screen is less than 850px there will be a new layout that will be dictated by these new rules. Also CSS snippets are supported. Have a look at the picture below I am writing a new CSS rule for an image element. I write the property transform and hit tab and then I have cross-browser CSS handling all of the major vendors. Then I simply add the value rotate and it is applied to all the cross browser options.Have a look at the picture below.  I am sure you realise how productive you can become with all these CSS snippets. 5) Now let's have a look at the new HTML editor enhancements in VS 2012You can drag and drop a GridView web server control from the Toolbox in the Site.master file. You will see a smart tag (that was only available in the Design View) that you can expand and add fields, format the web server control.Have a look at the picture below 6) We also have available code snippets. I type <video and then press tab twice.By doing that I have the rest of the HTML 5 markup completed.Have a look at the picture below 7) I have new support for the input tag including all the HTML 5 types and all the new accessibility features.Have a look at the picture below   8) Another interesting feature is the new Intellisense capabilities. When I change the DocType to 4.01 and the type <audio>,<video> HTML 5 tags, Intellisense does not recognise them and add squiggly lines.Have a look at the picture below All these features support ASP.Net Web forms, ASP.Net MVC applications and Web Pages. 9) Finally I would like to show you the enhanced support that we have for Javascript in VS 2012. I have full Intellisense support and code snippets support.I create a sample javascript file. I type If and press tab. I type while and press tab.I type for and press tab.In all three cases code snippet support kicks in and completes the code stack. Have a look at the picture below We also have full Intellisense support.Have a look at the picture below I am creating a simple function and then type some sort of XML like comments for the input parameters. Have a look at the picture below. Then when I call this function, Intellisense has picked up the XML comments and shows the variables data types.Have a look at the picture below Hope it helps!!!

  • mod_rewrite adds .html when redirecting

    - by user12093810293812031
I have a redirect situation where the site is part dynamic and part generated .html files. For example, mysite.com/homepage and mysite.com/products/42 are actually static html files Whereas other URLs are dynamically generated, like mysite.com/cart Both mysite.com and www.mysite.com are pointing to the same place. However I want to redirect all of the traffic from mysite.com to www.mysite.com. I'm so close but I'm running into an issue where Apache is adding .html to the end of my URLs for anything where a static .html file exists - which I don't want. I want to redirect this: http://mysite.com/products/42 To this: http://www.mysite.com/products/42 But Apache is making it this, instead (because 42.html is an actual html file): http://www.mysite.com/products/42.html I don't want that - I want it to redirect to www.mysite.com/products/42 Here's what I started with: RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^mysite\.com$ [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.mysite.com/$1 [R=301,L] I tried making the parameters and the .html optional, but the .html is still getting added on the redirect: RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^mysite\.com$ [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)?(\.html)?$ http://www.mysite.com/$1 [R=301,L] What am I doing wrong? Really appreciate it :)

  • Anyone recommend a program to print multiple HTML files at once for end users?

    - by Keith Bentrup
I have some clients with multiple html files in folders that are occasionally updated & printed. They would like to be able to print them all at once without having to open each one. I typically do this with a quick command for myself, but I'm unaware of any freeware to do this. After a google search, I'm not finding one, so I'm hoping someone can help. I'd rather not use a script to do this for various security/ease of use/familiarity reasons, I'd rather be able to just point to a simple program they can download and use on their windows desktops. Anyone know of one or some other easy solution to do this? Maybe I'm overlooking the obvious. If anyone's curious, this is what I do for myself (not for my clients): for %h in (*.html) do type "%h" >> all.htm then open all.htm & print. If I need a page break on each doc, I just search and replace in all.htm </body> with <p style="page-break-after:always">&nbsp;</p></body>. It's quick & simple, but too unfamiliar for them. Thanks!

  • Edit ePub eBooks with Your Favorite HTML Editor

    - by Matthew Guay
ePub eBooks are increasingly popular today, but often they’ve been made by converting other file formats. Here’s how you can edit ePub books to remove irregularities and make them better for reading on your devices. ePub’s are actually a zip file containing images, XHTML files with your text, and more with the .epub extension. You can make them better by editing the XHTML files directly.  Code gurus can edit the code directly, but even if you’ve never edited HTML, you can still quickly make changes with a WYSIWYG editor. Extract the Files from your ePub eBook As mentioned before, ePub files are actually renamed zip files.  So first let’s get all of the files in your ePub eBook accessible.  Find an eBook you want to edit and then change the file extension to .zip. If you don’t see the file extensions, click Organize in the menu bar and select Folder and search options. Select the View tab, and then uncheck the box beside Hide extensions for known file types.  Click Ok, and then change the file type as above. Windows will warn you about changing the file type; click Yes to proceed. Now you can browse the files of the ePub file.  Notice that it contains mostly HTML or XHTML files and images.  Click Extract all files to save them all in a folder so you can easily edit them. Alternately, you can open the ePub file directly in your favorite file archival program such as 7-zip.  Browse to the location of your ePub file, double-click it, and it’ll automatically open even if you don’t change the file extension to zip.  Now you can extract the folder, or extract individual files as before.   Edit Your eBook in KompoZer The actual ebook contents are stored in HTML or XHTML files.  These may be stored on the top folder of you ePub file’s directory, or they may be stored in \OEBPS\text in the file. To change the contents of your eBook, you’ll want to edit these files.  Often there may be separate files for each chapter, so you may have to use trial and error to find the one you need to edit.  You could edit them by hand in Windows using Notepad if you don’t have an HTML editor installed. A better option would be to use an HTML editor.  Here we’ll use the free KompoZer program to edit the files just like we’d edit a document in Word. Download KompoZer (link below), and unzip the files.  Then open the new folder and launch kompozer.exe; you don’t even need to install it.  In fact, you could even store KompoZer on a flash drive so you could edit HTML files from any computer. In KompoZer, open the HTML or XHTML file from your eBook that you want to edit. Now you can edit the file just like you would edit a document in Word.  Remove extra and unneeded text, make titles stand out, correct misspellings … anything you want!  This is especially helpful if your ePub file was created by converting a PDF as these often have many small errors. Or, if you’d rather edit the code itself, select the Source tab and edit as you wish. When you’re done making the changes, make sure to save the file in the same location with the same file name. Recreate Your Edited ePub eBook Once you’ve made all the changes you wanted, it’s time to turn this folder of files back into ePub.  Make sure you change the name of the folder if it still has the same name as the original ePub or zip file so you don’t mix them up or have trouble with overwriting the old files. Zip the folder using Windows Explorer or your favorite archival utility.  If you are using another archival program, make sure to compress it as a zip folder; other compression methods will render the ePub unreadable by your eReader app. Now change the file extension again, this time back to .epub. Now you can read your eBook with your changes in your favorite reader program or app on your mobile device. Conclusion Whether you need to remove an odd, misplaced character or need to do fine editing, using an HTML editor is a great way to make your ePub eBooks look just like you want.  Also, with an editor like KompoZer it’s not even difficult. • How to keep word document, html and pdf documentation aligned

    - by dendini
Is there a way to write documentation in a WYSIWYG editor which can then export into HTML, WORD and PDF and keep copies synchronized? This documentation are mostly technical notes and some contextual help for some softwares so they must contain images and some styling, they are not programmer's documentation (API list or functions list) for which probably a program like Javadoc or Doxygen would be the best choice. For example how do companies with hundreds different software lines and thousands of programmers deal with this? I have several solutions but they all seem lacking in some aspect: Latex/Tex : very good pdf and html export, not very user friendly and no full-blown WYSIWYG editor available. LibreOffice/OpenOffice : full blown WYSIWYG editor however html export not so good (need to edit manually exported html which needs to be maintained separately ) Mediawiki or any other wiki : could be keeping documentation in wikitext format, so html is automatically generated, pdf exportation is quite good with many available plugins. Again however need some formation for the staff to use it and need to setup a server for this. Notice I'm not asking for software A vs software B, I'm asking for general advice, big companies procedures for documentation and yes some software product names if available.

  • .htaccess rewrite www to non-www and remove .html

    - by lester8891
I need rewrite rules to redirect the following: http://www. to http:// /file.html to /file I've tried using a combination of these but each time it results in a redirect loop on one of the situations RewriteBase / RewriteRule ^(.*)\.html$ $1 [NC] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.domain.co.uk [NC, L] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://domain.co.uk/$1 [R=301] I figure it's probably something to do with the flags but I don't know how to fix it. Just to be clear it needs to do all these situations: http://www.domain.co.uk to http://domain.co.uk http://www.domain.co.uk/file.html to http://domain.co.uk/file http://domain.co.uk to http://domain.co.uk http://domain.co.uk/file.html to http://domain.co.uk/file Thanks!

There are many new exciting features being added like the the canvas element, local offline storage, drag and drop and video playback support. HTML needed to evolve and added these features in order to stay relevant as the de facto markup language that can provide a rich web experience.". Une argumentation ?tay?e ? lire absolument.

  • Wessty: Live with HTML 5 (2011 Speaker Tour)

    - by David Wesst
That’s right: Wessty is on tour. Okay, the banner and the tour is a little over the top, but I am really excited about my upcoming speaking engagements to spread the word about HTML 5! I have already kicked off the tour with the Winnipeg Code Camp last weekend with the world premiere of HTML 5 for .NET Pro presentation, and the turn out fantastic. It was the last presentation of the day, but we still had some great questions about the new standard and got to see how HTML 5 can fit into .NET web applications today. In any case, above you can see the confirmed presentations that I will be doing so far in 2011, but there are a few more events that I have heard about that I hope to add to that list. Ultimately, expect that list to be updated over the course of the year as the year is young and there are plenty of conferences coming up! Presentation Resources As the tour continues, I will be posting the slides and the source code for the demonstrations up here on my site. They will be free of charge and give you the chance to review the demos and hopefully take advantage of some of the cool things you see in the presentations. Become part of the Tour If you are considering hosting an event where you think that HTML 5 could use a voice, drop me a line and let me know. I am always looking for opportunities to grow the tour to talk not just about HTML 5, but a variety of topics that relate to user interface and user experience development. • Windows 8: SL and HTML

    - by xamlnotes
I  was just pointed to comment on my friend Andrew Brust’s blog about Silverlight versus HTML 5. Andrews blog is here: http://geekswithblogs.net/andrewbrust/archive/2011/11/23/windows-8-will-be-here-tomorrow-but-should-silverlight-be.aspx#600915 You can get another idea from another friend of mine Billy Hollis here: http://geekswithblogs.net/jalexander/archive/2011/04/09/the-eternal-battle-rich-v.-reachhellip--guest-blogger-billy-hollis.aspx The commenter is raving about HTML 5 and how that’s the future and SL is not. Well, my reaction is “hogwash”. Sure, HTML 5 is important and does some interesting stuff. Checkout what Bing.com is doing with it on some days and you can see. But to say that XAML is dead is nuts. I have been wrapping up bugs on a cross browser version of an application for awhile now. Whats the state of cross browser today? Well, better than a few years ago but far from perfect.  Each browser vendor interprets the specs in a little different way and you must account for them. The worst offender for major browsers? Apple and its Safari.  I had to make more changes for it than any other. Whats that got to do with XAML and SL/WPF?  Well, you write your SL code once and it runs in all browsers that support it, no changes. ipad does not? Well, they should be taken to court and forced too just like MS and others have been in the past for locking out competitors. Line of business applications? Write them in SL or WPF or both.  Use the power of XAML witch far out reaches html in any flavor and move on. We do need HTML 5 but its not a panacea nor will it replace all other technologies.

  • Using mod_speling with multi-level htaccess and rewriterules

    - by michaelcgorman
We recently switched formats for managing our 301s. For the most part, everything went well, but it seems to have stopped mod_speling from working properly. Here's what we changed: old /var/www/html/.htaccess: RewriteEngine on RewriteBase / # Change SHTML to HTML RewriteRule ^(.*)\.shtml$ $1.html [R=permanent,L] # Change PCF to HTML ('cause, you know, we probably have CMS users like that...) RewriteRule ^(.*)\.pcf$ $1.html [R=permanent,L] # Force WWW subdomain for all requests RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www.example.edu$ [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.example.edu/$1 [R,L] # User accounts are on sun.example.edu RedirectMatch ^/~(.*)$ http://sun.example.edu/~$1 # Remove index.html at the end of URLs RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^(.*/)index\.html$ [NC] RewriteRule . %1 [R=301,NE,L] Redirect 301 /academics/calendar2012-13.html http://www.example.edu/academics/calendar.html Redirect 301 /academics/departments/ http://www.example.edu/majors/ Redirect 301 /academics/Pre-Medical.pdf http://www.example.edu/academics/Pre-Medicine.pdf Redirect 301 ... new /var/www/html/.htaccess: RewriteEngine on RewriteBase / # Change SHTML to HTML RewriteRule ^(.*)\.shtml$ $1.html [R=permanent,L] # Change PCF to HTML ('cause, you know, we probably have CMS users like that...) RewriteRule ^(.*)\.pcf$ $1.html [R=permanent,L] # Force WWW subdomain for all requests RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www.example.edu$ [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.example.edu/$1 [R,L] # User accounts are on sun.example.edu RedirectMatch ^/~(.*)$ http://sun.example.edu/~$1 # Remove index.html at the end of URLs RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^(.*/)index\.html$ [NC] RewriteRule . %1 [R=301,NE,L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*) 404/$1 And then we added a new file at /var/www/html/404/.htaccess: RewriteEngine on RewriteBase /404 RewriteRule ^academics/calendar2012-13.html$ /academics/calendar.html [R=302,L] RewriteRule ^academics/departments/$ /majors/ [R=301,L] RewriteRule ^academics/Pre-Medical.pdf$ /academics/Pre-Medicine.pdf[R=301,L] RewriteRule ... I do have (Webmin-based) access to the httpd.conf (though we don't want to store all our 301s there, if possible). We're running Apache 2.2.15 on RHEL 6 on a server in our own data center. Like I said, the only problem we're seeing is that mod_speling isn't doing its magic anymore. The new format has so many advantages over the old that we really don't want to go back, but mod_speling is so nice to have that we'd also really like it to work if possible. Any ideas for how we might be able to fix mod_speling?

  • ASP.NET Webforms developers and web designers: how to interact?

    - by just_name
I'm an ASP.NET Webforms developer, and I face some problems when I deal with designers. Designers always complain about the asp.net server controls. They'd rather just have an html file and create css files along with the required images to go with those. Sometimes, if the design phase is done in advance, I get html files with related css files, but then we face many problems integrating the design with the aspx files (sever controls an telerik controls ... etc). What I want to ask about is: How do I overcome these problems? The designers prefer php- and mvc developers because of the problems with .net server controls. I need to know how to interact with the designers in the correct way. Are there any tools or applications to provide the designers with the rendered (html page) of the .aspx pages? By that I mean the page in runtime rather than the aspx in Visual Studio. They do use Web Expression but they want the rendered page in html as well.

  • HTAccess redirect directories to index.html

    - by BFTrick
Hi there, I am working on a site that where I do not have permission to the server and someone else keeps changing the settings. That person just changed the settings preventing users from going to example.com/foo/ and seeing the index page. This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed. If you type in example.com/foo/index.html you can still see the file. So I want to use htaccess to redirect all urls that end in a directory to change into directory/index.html How do I write that? I started with some code that changes .php files to .html files and tried to work from that but I couldn't quite get it to work. RewriteRule ^(.*)\.php$ /$1.html [R=301,L] Any suggestions?
