  I want to remove all special characters from a string. Allowed characters are A-Z (uppercase or lowercase), numbers (0-9), underscore (_), or the dot sign (.). • Using 'Copy as cURL' from Chrome in windows command line

  So, Google Chrome as this great 'copy as cURL' option under 'Network' of the Chrome DevTools. Works great in command lines for linux but not in windows. Apparently it has something to do with the single quotes as the error I get is protocol 'http not supported In other words its reading that single quote. Is there a simple way to make this formatable for windows? I tried replacing all the single quotes with double quotes but then nothing happens at all. I'd like to accept Code 39 and Code 128 barcodes. I know these are variable length codes, so what should I set the max length to? Thanks! • Jquery prettyPhoto and star conflict....DOM not loading?

  I'm working on an online ordering system for photography clients: Here. (Forgive the requirement of having to sign in). After signing in, the user is able to rate pictures using the stars listed below each picture, then subsequently view 3 star pics, or 4 star pics, etc. However, when the user clicks on an image, a lightbox expands (prettyPhoto namely) which contains the picture as well as the stars listed below. I want users to be able to star a picture within the lightbox, but the javascript is not being passed after the prettyPhoto lightbox is initialized. Consequently, they can't rate pictures within the lightbox. I've heard of something similar to this, but have no idea about how to go about tackling the problem. Any help would be appreciated. • What is the correct way to bootstrap Drupal with Kohana 3?

  Hi, I am trying to implement single sign on between an existing Drupal site a Kohana 3 based webapp. Ideally I would like to load Drupal's session information into $GLOBALS using the bootstap: require_once('../includes/bootstrap.inc'); drupal_bootstrap(DRUPAL_BOOTSTRAP_SESSION); A post on the Kohana forum suggested that this should be placed in Kohana's index.php, but didn't say where. I've tried right at the start, and just before Kohana's own bootstrap, but both result in a White Screen of Death. Changing the bootstrap level to DRUPAL_BOOTSTRAP_CONFIGURATION works, but the session data isn't loaded. Any bootstrap level above DRUPAL_BOOTSTRAP_ACCESS results in a WSOD. If anyone has any ideas I'd really appreciate it!

  we have implemented the code for installing the messenger theme pack using the client side scripting in a web page. We are creating an object of the messenger using the classid .Using this object we call the installcontent() method and try to install the messenger theme pack hosted at following path: http://www.messengerexpressions.com/assets/worldCup/cabs/en-gb.cab Our code initially checks whether the messenger is installed on the user machine or not. Then it checks for the user login ,once the messenger is installed on the machine. And if the user is signed-in , the messenger theme pack is installed. The code currently when hosted on IIS checks the “Sign-In of the user” but when it tries to install the theme pack an error is thrown “An ActiveX control on this page is unsafe.Your current security settings prohibit running unsafe control on this page.As a result,this page may not be display as intended.” Please let us know if any setting is required on IIS for running this piece of codeor anything that we are missing out.

• Is this a possible way to get Drupal AD SSO?

  I'm currently building a Drupal website in an Active Directory environment. One of the site's requirements is Single Sign On, which to date seems to be impossible because there is no Kerberos SPNEGO/GSSAPI auth module for drupal. I've come up with an idea on how SSO could be attempted on IIS. Since IIS has the option to require Kerberos authentication, we can let IIS handle authentication and use the AUTH_USER server variable to pass the authorized user name to the an 'improved' LDAP_auth module. The LDAP_auth module would then check the user name (but not password since it doesn't know or need to know the password) against LDAP to get the user's roles. (AD groups) Does anyone know if this is possible? If so, does anyone have any ideas on how to implement this?

• Windows XP Rejecting Digital Signature

  I don't want to see unsigned driver warnings while installing a driver, so I'm trying to digitally sign a driver using signtool, inf2cat, and a Software Publishing Certificate. Vista x64 requires the drivers to be digitally signed or it flat out rejects them, but I have managed to get Vista x64 to accept the driver, so I know I'm doing the process correctly. However, I repeat the process for the Windows XP x86 driver. inf2cat and signtool both return successful results, signtool verifies the digital signatures, right-click - properties on the file verifies the digital signature too. However, when I go to load the driver in Windows XP, it still prompts me with an unsigned driver warning. Why does XP consider the file unsigned, but Vista does not?

  Hello, normally, all sane developers are trying to secure input of all public methods (casting to proper types, validating, sanitizing etc.) My question is: are you in your code validating also parameters passed to protected / private methods? In my opinion it is not necessary, if you securize properly parameters of public methods and return values from outside (other classes, db, user input etc...). But I am constantly facing frameworks and apps (ie. prestashop to name one) where validation is often repeated in method call, in method body and once again for securize returned value - which, I think, is creating performace overhead and is also a sign of bad design.

  I'm trying to Use python's Beautiful Soup Library to grab a bunch of divs from an html file, and from there get the string - which is a money value - that's inside the div. Then remove the dollar sign and convert it to a decimal so that I can use a greater than and less than conditional statement to compare values. I have googled the heck out of it and can't seem to come up with a way to convert this unicode string into a decimal value. I really could use some help here. How do I convert unicode into a decimal value? • Perl module for parsing natural language time duration specifications (similar to the "at" command)?

  I'm writing a perl script that takes a "duration" option, and I'd like to be able to specify this duration in a fairly flexible manner, as opposed to only taking a single unit (e.g. number of seconds). The UNIX at command implements this kind of behavior, by allowing specifications such as "now + 3 hours + 2 days". For my program, the "now" part is implied, so I just want to parse the stuff after the plus sign. (Note: the at command also parses exact date specifications, but I only want to parse durations.) Is there a perl module for parsing duration specifications like this? I don't need the exact syntax accepted by at, just any reasonable syntax for specifying time durations. Edit: Basically, I want something like DateTime::Format::Flexible for durations instead of dates.

• MySQL Query involving column names containing math operators

  I'm a MySQL scrub, and I have asked around and checked around the internet for what I'm sure will turn out to be something obvious, but I'm very frustrated with what I thought would be a very, very simple query not working. So here goes. Please be gentle. Basically, in a large database, some of the column names contain mathematical operators like "/" and "+." (Don't ask, it's not my database, I can't do anything about it). Here is the "essence" of my query (I took out the irrelevant stuff for the sake of this question): SELECT PlayerId, Season, WPA/LI AS WPALI FROM tht.stats_batting_master WHERE Season = "2010" AND teamid > 0 AND PA >= 502 GROUP BY playerid ORDER BY WPALI DESC When I run this, it returns "Unknown column 'LI' in 'field list'," I assume because it sees the "/" in WPA/LI as a division sign. Like I said, I'm sure this is easy enough to work around (it must be given how much this database is used), but I haven't' been able to figure out how. Thanks in advance for any help.

• SSL Certificated Validity

  Hi, I'm using an SSL certificate from geotrust. I just ordered and installed it this weekend. However when I try to access my website using https, firefox (and the other browsers as well) the browser warns that the certificate expired a few days ago. I guess there could be two reasons: I made a mistake during the installation of the certificate Geotrust did not sign the certificate properly. First I want to rule out the second reason considering my browser tells me the certificate expired a few days ago. This does not make sense at all. Is there a way to extract the expiration date from the certificate? Thanks!

• Problem running VBScript from my UIAccess VB app using MSScriptControl

  I'm trying to run some VBSCRIPT from within my application. This works fine when I run my program from within VB. But once I add "UIAccess=true" to my manifest and digitally sign my exe with my certificate, I am unable to run the code any more. It gives errors when I try to interface with any program saying "429: ActiveX component can't create object: 'myApp.Application'". Anyone have any idea why it would run fine in the IDE but not with an application with uses UIAccess?
