• Cannot get assembly version for footer

  I'm using the automatic build versioning mentioned in this question (not the selected answer but the answer that uses the [assembly: AssemblyVersion("1.0.*")] technique). I'm doing this in the footer of my Site.Master file in MVC 2. My code for doing this is as follows: <div id="footer"> <a href="emailto:[email protected]">[email protected]</a> - Copyright © 2005-<%= DateTime.Today.Year.ToString() %>, foo LLC. All Rights Reserved. - Version: <%= Assembly.GetEntryAssembly().GetName().Version.ToString() %> </div> The exception I get is a Object reference not set to an instance of an object because GetEntryAssembly() returns NULL. My other options don't work either. GetCallingAssembly() always returns "4.0.0.0" and GetExecutingAssembly() always returns "0.0.0.0". When I go look at my DLLs, everything is versioning as I would expect. But I cannot figure out how to access it to display in my footer!!

• Telerik RadAlert back button cache problem

  Hi, I'm sure you have had this one before so if you could point me to something similar.... I have a server side creation of a RadAlert window using the usual Sys.Application.remove_load and add_load procedure however the alert keeps popping up as it seems to be caching when the user hits the back button after it has been activated. I have tried to put a onclick event on a button to clear the function using remove_load before it moves to the next page however it still doesn't seem to clear it. Its used in validation so if a user inputs failed validation it pops up. If they then go and enter correct validation it then moves onto the next page. If they then use back button this is where it pops up again. Any ideas? • Accessing an enum stored in a QVariant

  Hi, I have registered an enumeration type "ClefType" within my header file - this enum is registered with the MetaObject system using the Q_DECLARE_METATYPE and Q_ENUMS macros. qRegisterMetaType is also called in the class constructor. This allows me to use this type in a Q_PROPERTY, this all works fine. However, later on, I need to be able to get hold of the Q_PROPERTY of this enum type, given the object - in a form that is suitable for serialization. Ideally, it would be useful to store the integer value for that enum member, because I don't want this to be specific to the type of enum that is used - eventually I want to have several different enums. // This is inside a loop over all the properties on a given object QMetaProperty property = metaObject->property(propertyId); QString propertyName = propertyMeta.name(); QVariant variantValue = propertyMeta.read(serializeObject); // If, internally, this QVariant is of type 'ClefType', // how do I pull out the integer value for this enum?   Using VS2008 C# am attempting to interop a C++ dll. Have a C++ class constructor: make_summarizer(const char* rdir, const char* lic, const char* key); Need to retain a reference to the object that is created so I can use it in a follow-on function. • Flex AdvancedDataGrid - ColumnOrder With Formatter and ItemRenderer Question For Experts

  I have a advanceddatagrid that has around 15 columns. Some are string, some are numbers. I have shown 4 columns below. The number columns have formatting done for zero precision and 2 digits precision. The itemRenderer is just to show Blue Color if the number is +ve and Red Color if the number is -ve. It looks something like below ... I am trying to save the users setting of column order when he closes the application and reload with the same order when the user opens the applications. I am using SharedObjects and below is the code. for(var i:int=0; i< adgrid.columns.length;i++){ var columnObject:Object = new Object(); columnObject.columnDataField = adgrid.columns[i].dataField as String; columnObject.columnHeader =adgrid.columns[i].headerText as String; columnObject.width = adgrid.columns[i].width; columnArray.push(columnObject); } and then I save the columnArray to SharedObject. I am having trouble saving the formatter and itemrenderer and reloading it again. I would really appreciate if you can shown the code. How can I reshuffle the columns but can preserve all the properties of it to the sharedobject and recover it again.

  Hi All I have a service proxy class that makes asyn call to service operation. I use a callback method to pass results back to my view model. Doing functional testing of view model, I can mock service proxy to ensure methods are called on the proxy, but how can I ensure that callback method is called as well? With RhinoMocks I can test that events are handled and event raise events on the mocked object, but how can I test callbacks? • Transforming coordinates from an image control to the image source in WPF

  I'm trying to learn WPF, so here's a simple question, I hope: I have a window that contains an Image element bound to a separate data object with user-configurable Stretch property <Image Name="imageCtrl" Source="{Binding MyImage}" Stretch="{Binding ImageStretch}" /> When the user moves the mouse over the image, I would like to determine the coordinates of the mouse with respect to the original image (before stretching/cropping that occurs when it is displayed in the control), and then do something with those coordinates (update the image). I know I can add an event-handler to the MouseMove event over the Image control, but I'm not sure how best to transform the coordinates: void imageCtrl_MouseMove(object sender, MouseEventArgs e) { Point locationInControl = e.GetPosition(imageCtrl); Point locationInImage = ??? updateImage(locationInImage); } Now I know I could compare the size of Source to the ActualSize of the control, and then switch on imageCtrl.Stretch to compute the scalars and offsets on X and Y, and do the transform myself. But WPF has all the information already, and this seems like functionality that might be built-in to the WPF libraries somewhere. So I'm wondering: is there a short and sweet solution? Or do I need to write this myself? EDIT I'm appending my current, not-so-short-and-sweet solution. • Enumerating all strings in resx

  We would like to enumerate all strings in a resource file in .NET (resx file). We want this to generate a javascript object containing all these key-value pairs. How can we enumerate all localization strings in a resx file? UPDATE: Following Dennis Myren's comment and the ideas from here, I built a ResXResourceManager. Now I can do the same with .resx files as I did with the embedded resources. Here is the code. Note that Microsoft made a needed constructor private, so I use reflection to access it. The video plays, so that's working BUT: I want to have an old school tv (round corners) in foreground with switches and so on. The tv is an image with transparent pixels in the middle, so that a video lying behind the tv will shine through as if the video would be shown on the tv. But first of all the video has a border that I can't remove and second it's always in the foreground. In Safari and in Firefox and Mac it's working. So is it an iPhone thing, could it be that it simply won't work on iPhone ? Or do I have some css/html typos ?

  I have a WCF service running, I added a reference to the service by using Add Service Reference in the solution explorer, and I checked the box for create asynchronous operations. My call works fine, I have a two way channel that reports back some events from the server and I am receiving the events. However, when the asynchronous task finishes in my callback handeler I get the error Unable to cast object of type 'SendAsyncResult' to type 'System.Runtime.Remoting.Messaging.AsyncResult'. Code that calls the method.   Is there any recommended coding style how to write PowerShell scripts? It's not about how to structure the code (how many functions, if to use module, ...). It's about 'how to write the code so that it is readable'. In programming languages there are some recommended coding styles (what to indent, how to indent - spaces/tabs, where to make new line, where to put braces,...), but I haven't seen any suggestion for PowerShell. It works sometimes, but othertimes it throws an obscure exception, that googling for has not turned up any useful information, besides a few Java bug reports that were never resolved (thanks Sun).   I have a set-up similar to WPF's DependencyProperty and DependencyObject system. My properties however are generic. A BucketProperty has a static GlobalIndex (defined in BucketPropertyBase) which tracks all BucketProperties. A Bucket can have many BucketProperties of any type. A Bucket saves and gets the actual values of these BucketProperties... now my question is, how to deal with the storage of these values, and what is the penalty of using a typecasting when retrieving them? I currently use an array of BucketEntries that save the property values as simple objects. Is there any better way of saving and returning these values?   We have a large WinForms app, and there is a built-in bug reporting system that can be activated during testing via the F5 Key. I am capturing the F5 key with .Net's PreFilterMessage system. This works fine on the main forms, modal dialog boxes, etc. Unfortunately, the program also displays windows messageboxes when it needs to. When there is a bug with that, e.g., wrong text in the messagebox or it shouldn't be there, the messagefilter isn't executed at all when the messagebox is up! I realize I could fix it by either rewriting my own messagebox routine, or kicking off a separate thread that polls GetAsyncKeyState and calls the error reporter from there. However I was hoping for a method that was less of a hack. • Delegates in .NET: how are they constructed ?

  While inspecting delegates in C# and .NET in general, I noticed some interesting facts: Creating a delegate in C# creates a class derived from MulticastDelegate with a constructor: .method public hidebysig specialname rtspecialname instance void .ctor(object 'object', native int 'method') runtime managed { } Meaning that it expects the instance and a pointer to the method. Yet the syntax of constructing a delegate in C# suggests that it has a constructor new MyDelegate(int () target) where I can recognise int () as a function instance (int *target() would be a function pointer in C++). So obviously the C# compiler picks out the correct method from the method group defined by the function name and constructs the delegate. So the first question would be, where does the C# compiler (or Visual Studio, to be precise) pick this constructor signature from ? I did not notice any special attributes or something that would make a distinction. Is this some sort of compiler/visualstudio magic ? If not, is the T (args) target construction valid in C# ? I did not manage to get anything with it to compile, e.g.: int () target = MyMethod; is invalid, so is doing anything with MyMetod, e.g. calling .ToString() on it (well this does make some sense, since that is technically a method group, but I imagine it should be possible to explicitly pick out a method by casting, e.g. (int())MyFunction. So is all of this purely compiler magic ? Looking at the construction through reflector reveals yet another syntax: Func CS$1$0000 = new Func(null, (IntPtr) Foo); This is consistent with the disassembled constructor signature, yet this does not compile! One final interesting note is that the classes Delegate and MulticastDelegate have yet another sets of constructors: .method family hidebysig specialname rtspecialname instance void .ctor(class System.Type target, string 'method') cil managed Where does the transition from an instance and method pointer to a type and a string method name occur ? Can this be explained by the runtime managed keywords in the custom delegate constructor signature, i.e. does the runtime do it's job here ?
