• Problems with repositories on CentOS 3.9

  Hello, I have CentOS 3.9 for i386. Now I have CentOS 3, and there is nothing I can install with yum. • Add PRISM Region Manager In Existing Navigation Window

  We have a "legacy" WPF applicaton that is based on a NavigationWindow. The NavigationWindow has a fairly large ControlTemplate that houses a ContentPresenter as so: <ControlTemplate> ....snip... <ContentPresenter x:Name="PART_NavWinCP" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch"/> .....snip.... </ControlTemplate> What we want to do is use that ContentPresenter as the first tab and dynamically add other tabs at run time. Like this: <ControlTemplate> ....snip... <TabControl Background="Transparent" cal:RegionManager.RegionName="MainRegion" Grid.ColumnSpan="2" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch"> <TabItem Header="Nav Window Content"> <ContentPresenter x:Name="PART_NavWinCP" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch"/> </TabItem> </TabControl> .....snip.... </ControlTemplate> Then our Modules grab the RegionName and insert their content dynamically. The issue seems to be that the PRISM region manager doesn't like that our code is in a ContentTemplate and cannot resolve the region. I have tried updating the RegionManager, adding the Region dynamically, just having a root tab control without the ContentPresenter, but I cannot get this to work. Any ideas?

• Telerik RADGrid - linq and updating

  Hi Telerik's RADGrid, basing on their example on http://demos.telerik.com/aspnet-ajax/grid/examples/dataediting/programaticlinqupdates/defaultcs.aspx Problem: I can insert and delete, however updating doesn't work. No error trapped. Data just doesn't change. From the code below it looks like Telerik Grid is doing some kung-fu behind the scenes to wire things up. I can't see the db receiving any update statements.   Hi, I'm creating a Web interface for a table in Mysql and want to use jQuery dialog for input and edit. • How can I force Javascript garbage collection in IE? IE is acting very slow after AJAX calls & DOM

  I have a page with chained drop-downs. Choosing an option from the first select populates the second, and choosing an option from the second select returns a table of matching results using the innerHtml function on an empty div on the page. The problem is, once I've made my selections and a considerable amount of data is brought onto the page, all subsequent Javascript on the page runs exceptionally slowly. It seems as if all the data I pulled back via AJAX to populate the div is still hogging a lot of memory. I tried setting the return object which contains the AJAX results to null after calling innerHtml but with no luck. Firefox, Safari, Chrome and Opera all show no performance degradation when I use Javascript to insert a lot of data into the DOM, but in IE it is very apparent. To test that it's a Javascript/DOM issue rather than a plain old IE issue, I created a version of the page that returns all the results on the initial load, rather than via AJAX/Javascript, and found IE had no performance problems. FYI, I'm using jQuery's jQuery.get method to execute the AJAX call. • Synchronizing Asynchronous request handlers in Silverlight environment

  For our senior design project my group is making a Silverlight application that utilizes graph theory concepts and stores the data in a database on the back end. We have a situation where we add a link between two nodes in the graph and upon doing so we run analysis to re-categorize our clusters of nodes. The problem is that this re-categorization is quite complex and involves multiple queries and updates to the database so if multiple instances of it run at once it quickly garbles data and breaks (by trying to re-insert already used primary keys). Essentially it's not thread safe, and we're trying to make it safe, and that's where we're failing and need help :). But instead they all seem to be running and conflicting with each other in the verifyClusters method. One solution would be to force our front end calls to be made synchronously. And in fact, when we do that everything works fine, so the code logic isn't broken. But when it's launched our application will be deployed within a business setting and used by internal IT staff (or at least that's the plan) so we'll have the same problem. We can't force all clients to submit data at different times, so we really need to get it synchronized on the back end. • How to populate Java (web) application with initial data using Spring/JPA/Hibernate

  I want to setup my database with initial data programmatically. I want to populate my database for development runs, not for testing runs (it's easy). The product is built on top of Spring and JPA/Hibernate. Developer checks out the project Developer runs command/script to setup database with initial data Developer starts application (server) and begins developing/testing then: Developer runs command/script to flush the database and set it up with new initial data because database structures or the initial data bundle were changed What I want is to setup my environment by required parts in order to call my DAOs and insert new objects into database. I do not want to create initial data sets in raw SQL, XML, take dumps of database or whatever. I want to programmatically create objects and persist them in database as I would in normal application logic. One way to accomplish this would be to start up my application normally and run a special servlet that does the initialization. But is that really the way to go? I would love to execute the initial data setup as Maven task and I don't know how to do that if I take the servlet approach. There is somewhat similar question. I took a quick glance at the suggested DBUnit and Unitils. But they seem to be heavily focused in setting up testing environments, which is not what I want here. DBUnit does initial data population, but only using xml/csv fixtures, which is not what I'm after here. Then, Maven has SQL plugin, but I don't want to handle raw SQL. Maven also has Hibernate plugin, but it seems to help only in Hibernate configuration and table schema creation (not in populating db with data). How to do this?

• Write-only collections in MongoDB

  I'm currently using MongoDB to record application logs, and while I'm quite happy with both the performance and with being able to dump arbitrary structured data into log records, I'm troubled by the mutability of log records once stored. In a traditional database, I would structure the grants for my log tables such that the application user had INSERT and SELECT privileges, but not UPDATE or DELETE. Similarly, in CouchDB, I could write a update validator function that rejected all attempts to modify an existing document. However, I've been unable to find a way to restrict operations on a MongoDB database or collection beyond the three access levels (no access, read-only, "god mode") documented in the security topic on the MongoDB wiki. Has anyone else deployed MongoDB as a document store in a setting where immutability (or at least change tracking) for documents was a requirement? What tricks or techniques did you use to ensure that poorly-written or malicious application code could not modify or destroy existing log records? Do I need to wrap my MongoDB logging in a service layer that enforces the write-only policy, or can I use some combination of configuration, query hacking, and replication to ensure a consistent, audit-able record is maintained?

I am connected to an actual SQL server not weird mdf: System.InvalidOperationException The null value cannot be assigned to a member with type System.Int64 which is a non-nullable value type My SQL table has a column called MessageID.   The weird part being that I have other tests that validate the mapping and even the method being called (Nhib session.SaveOrUpdate) that run just fine. The entire exception is below. The failing one is saving data that has been converted from a legacy db (which has it's own session). The repository is also a replacement design for a different IProjectRepsitory that worked fine doing this, so the new repository is also a likely suspect here. Does anyone see what I'm missing or have some questions to narrow it down?   I have a wsf service and a client application. While trying to communicate the client and the service I've gotten the following message: "The formatter threw an exception while trying to deserialize the message: There was an error while trying to deserialize parameter http://tempuri.org/:blob. The InnerException message was 'There was an error deserializing the object of type FileBlob. The maximum array length quota (16384) has been exceeded while reading XML data. Please see InnerException for more details." I have the customBinding element and it doesn't allow me to insert "readerQuotas" section. • How to add dynamic profile fields in Invision Power Board?

  I run a game server and want to link the persons in game character name and stats to Invision Power Board. I've setup IPB so players currently login with their in game login. That means their username on the forum is the same as their username for the game. They can have multiple characters on 1 account so ideally I'd like to allow them to choose a main character and display an actual image of that character and allow them to display other characters if they are online. Currently I'm doing something like this by hacking profileFields.php but it's messy and not very efficient on the user or server end. My code currently uses 2 custom fields which the player can enter their character names in. To display only their main character they enter the name in the first field. To also display other characters if they are online they enter the same name into the second field. To resolve the IDs I have to run a lot of queries. I know PHP but I am not familiar with IPBs code at all. I just need pointed in a direction where I can combine the 2 fields into 1 field. tl;dr: Here is my setup: Invision Power Board 3 Data is stored in MySQL on the same server the forum is hosted on. Usernames on the forum are identical to usernames in the game Here is a breakdown of what I'd like to do: In the edit profile section I need to resolve the forum username to the games account id then: Display a list of characters and allow them to choose which characters they want to display if they are online as well as a default character that will be displayed if none are online. In the posts user info pane: Display the online character or the default if none are online. Here is what I need to know: How to generate a list of characters in the profile edit form and allow selection (checkbox) of each character to display as well as the selection of a default character (radio or dropdown?) How to fetch the data and place it in the posts user info pane

• Faster way to transfer table data from linked server

  After much fiddling, I've managed to install the right ODBC driver and have successfully created a linked server on SQL Server 2008, by which I can access my PostgreSQL db from SQL server. • viewDidLoad not being called by parent UITabBarController

  Sample: I've created a minimal set of files that highlight the issue here: http://uploads.omega.org.uk/Foo3.zip If viewDidLoad/viewInitWithNibName are called, a message box is displayed. The message box is not displayed, therefore, the methods are not being called. Details: I have an application that is attempting to use a UITabBarController to switch between multiple views. The views are linked up to the UITabBarController using interface builder (select the tab page, open Attributes (Option-1), and fill in the NIB Name field), and so are displayed "automatically" with no extra code-behind to make them appear. Is it intended behaviour that views loaded like this do not have their viewDidLoad method executed? If not, how am I doing it wrong, and what do I need to change. If it is intended behaviour, I can think of a few work-arounds, but any suggestions are appreciated: Scrap the UITabBarController and implement the view switching myself (using initWithNibName and add/insert/push/Subview). Call each of the children's viewDidLoad method manually in the UITabBarController's own viewDidLoad method. Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

I have already tried the OracleTyep.NUMBER in the registerOutParameter. Anyone knows what i'm doing wrong?

I had a few thoughts, but nothing worked in my testing: attempting to clear the onbeforeunload event via onbeforeonload = null had no effect adding an alert() stopped the process let the user know it was happening, but did not interfere with the code in any way; clicking OK lets the busting continue as normal I can't think of any way to clear the setInterval() timer I'm not much of a JavaScript programmer, so here's my challenge to you: hey buster, can you bust the frame-busting buster?

• xcode UIWebView - Text Fields = No on screen keyboard.

  This application is used to let you use our company basecamp site and only that site. When logged in, if you go to post a new message, you can insert text in the title text field, but if you try to tap in the message body section, it does not bring up the keyboard. I have to assume it's something with my coding, because safari works just fine with it. You can pick textile/html mode or easy. The keyboard does come up in textile/html mode but not in easy formatting mode. Any ideas? Here are some screenshot examples from the iPad. This is shown as the text view not working, no keyboard comes up when you tap in the box. arikburnsDOTcom/forums/fn/IMG_0007.png If you click on 'Switch to Textile/HTML' As seen in the image above, you are presented with this new text box which you can tap in and the keyboard comes up. arikburnsDOTcom/forums/fn/IMG_0006.PNG Now, also note, if you load this same page up in safari, it doesn't actually give you an option as to what text formatting to use, it just works. No options. I basically need to force the 'Textile/HTML' text box somehow and no I cannot change the website code itself. Thanks in advance.

But what currently happens is this. (this is purely for mapping test purposes) getting a parent entity (works fine) IQuery query = session.CreateQuery("from Parent where ID =" + ID); IParent doc = query.UniqueResult<Parent>(); now the delete part session.Delete(doc); transaction.Commit(); After having solved the 'cannot insert null value' error with cascading and inverse i hopes this would now delete everything with this code, but only the parent is being deleted. Did i miss something in my mapping which is likely to be missed? Any hint in the right direction is more than welcome!

• How to prevent duplicate records being inserted with SqlBulkCopy when there is no primary key

  I receive a daily XML file that contains thousands of records, each being a business transaction that I need to store in an internal database for use in reporting and billing. I was under the impression that each day's file contained only unique records, but have discovered that my definition of unique is not exactly the same as the provider's. The current application that imports this data is a C#.Net 3.5 console application, it does so using SqlBulkCopy into a MS SQL Server 2008 database table where the columns exactly match the structure of the XML records. Each record has just over 100 fields, and there is no natural key in the data, or rather the fields I can come up with making sense as a composite key end up also having to allow nulls. Currently the table has several indexes, but no primary key. Basically the entire row needs to be unique. If one field is different, it is valid enough to be inserted. I looked at creating an MD5 hash of the entire row, inserting that into the database and using a constraint to prevent SqlBulkCopy from inserting the row,but I don't see how to get the MD5 Hash into the BulkCopy operation and I'm not sure if the whole operation would fail and roll back if any one record failed, or if it would continue. The file contains a very large number of records, going row by row in the XML, querying the database for a record that matches all fields, and then deciding to insert is really the only way I can see being able to do this. I was just hoping not to have to rewrite the application entirely, and the bulk copy operation is so much faster. Does anyone know of a way to use SqlBulkCopy while preventing duplicate rows, without a primary key? Or any suggestion for a different way to do this?

• Argument exception after trying to use TryGetObjectByKey

• Outlook Addin in C# - How to add button/group in New Mail (next to signatures)

  I'm having some trouble understanding Outlook terms (CommandBarPopup, CommandBarButton etc) like what is what in Outlook so please be patient. I would like to create couple of things: I would like to create new group (or just button but i read it's not possible to add a button to an existing group in ribbon) on new mail next to Signature/Add attachment in Message Ribbon. It would have to work the same way Signature works so when you press it it display couple of options. How can i create it? I would like to override a button "NEW" (where you can choose that you want to send new mail, make appointment or do other things) so that when you are in Main Window when you press the down arrow next to new button you could choose one of options i will add? Is this possible? How do I do it? • FullCalendar and events: function

  I am trying to display my events from a MySQL database. I'm using the events function. My XML file being returned is pretty basic. I've looked at all of the FullCalendar questions and most of them talk about JSON and point to the documentation for JSON. I can't use JSON. I have to go XML. Can you tell me where I'm off. Here is a sample of what my xml looks like: Grow Your Business on the Web 2010-06-05T9:30 2010-06-05T12:30 O The whole file is prefaced with a tag and closed with a tag.
