• Encoding a email address that can be used as part of a URL in codeigniter

  Is there a way to encode a email address that can be used as a part of a url in codeigniter?. I need to decode back the email address from the url. What I am trying to do is just a -forgotten password recovery- thing. I send a confirmation link to the user's email address, the link needs to be like ../encodedEmail/forgottenPasswordCode (with the forgottenPasswordCode updated in the db for the user with the submitted email). When the user visits that link, I decode the email(if the email - forgottenPasswordCode pair is in the table), i allow them to reset their password (and i reset forgottenPasswordCode back to null). I could just do a loop -checking the table with a select query- (or) -set that forgottenPasswordCode column unique, so i keep generating on a insert failure(would that be a lot faster ?)- until I generate a forgottenPasswordCode that doesn't already exist in the table. But the guy I do this for would not accept it this way:). He wants the checking be done with the user's email, he thinks its much faster. I am working with codeigniter, I used its encode() function, it seems to produce characters like '-slashes-' at times that breaks the encoded-email-string. Any other ideas?

• UML class diagram vs ER database diagram

  Hi, I'm a little confused, I'm developing a program, the program consist in two parts, the server and the clients, there are groups, places, messages... stored in the server, and the clients has to connect with it. I've design the use cases diagram, the activity diagrams, and I have design the class diagram too. The thing is that I want to implement the server in a mysql tables for storing the users, groups, places... users in groups... so I've designed a E-R diagram consisting in 6 tables, but the problem is that I think that my class diagram and my ER diagram looks too similar, I mean, I think I'm not doing things right because I have a class for each table practically, and when I have to extract all the users on my system, do I have to convert all the rows into objects at first and write in the database for each object modified? The easy choice for me would be to base my whole application only in the database, and making a class to extract and insert data in it, but I have to follow the UML specification and I'm a little confused what to do with the class diagram, because the books I have read say that I have to create a class for each "entity" of my program. • Extracting files from merge module

  All I want is a command-line tool that can extract files from a merge module (.msm) onto disk. I'm trying msidb.exe and orca.exe The documentation for orca states: Many merge module options can be specified from the command line... Extracting Files from a Merge Module Orca supports three different methods for extracting files contained in a merge module. Orca can extract the individual CAB file, extract the files into a module tree and extract the files into a source image once it has been merged into a target database... Extracting Files To extract the individual files from a merge module, use the ... -x ... option on the command line, where is the desired path to the new directory tree. The specified path is used as the root path for the extracted files. All files are extracted from the CAB file embedded in the module and placed in the specified path. The directory layout for the extracted files is based on the directory tree of the merge module. It mostly sounds like exactly what I need. But when I try it, orca simply opens up an editor (with info on the msm I specified) and then does nothing. I've tried a variety of command lines, usually starting with this: orca -x theDirectory theModule.msm I use "theDirectory" as whatever empty folder I want. Like I said - it didn't do anything. Then I tried msidb, where a couple of attempts I've made look like this: msidb -d theModule.msm -w {storage} msidb -d theModule.msm -x {stream} In both cases, I don't know what to insert for {storage} or {stream} to make it happy - I don't know what those represent. Can someone explain what I'm doing wrong with the command line options? Is there any other tool that can do this?

• Db4o Mvc Application Architecture

  I am currently testing out Db4o for an asp.net MVC 2 application idea but there are a few things I'm not quite sure on the best way to proceed. I want my application to use guessable routes rather than Id's for referencing my entities but I also think I need Id's of some sort for update scenarios. so for example I want /country/usa instead of /country/1 I may want to change the key name though (not perhaps on a country but on other entities) so am thinking I need an Id to use as the reference to retrieve the object prior to updating it's fields. From other comments it seems like the UUID is a bit long to be using and would prefer to use my own id's anyway for clean separation of concerns. Looking at both the KandaAlpha project I wasn't too keen on some aspects of the design and prefer something more along the lines of S#arp architecture where they use things like the [domainsignature] and EntityWithTypedId, IEntityDuplicateChecker, IHasAssignedId, BaseObject and IValidatable in their entities to control insert/update behaviour which seems cleaner and more extensible, covers validation and is encapsulated well within the core and base repository classes. So would a port of S#arp architecture to Db4o make sense of am I still thinking rmdbs in an oodb world? Also is there a best practice for managing indexes (including Unique ones as above) in Db4o? Should they be model metadata based and loaded using DI in a bootstrapper for example or should they be more loaded more like Automapper.CreateMap? Its a bit of a rambling question I know but any thoughts, ideas or suggested reading material is greatly appreciated. Thanks Mac

• Unable to convert from Julian INT date to regular TSQL Datetime

  Help me Stackoverflow, I'm close to going all "HULK SMASH" on my keyboard over this issue. I have researched carefully but I'm obviously not getting something right. I am working with a Julian dates referenced from a proprietary tool (Platinum SQL?), though I'm working in SQL 2005. I can convert their "special" version of Julian into datetime when I run a select statement. Unfortunately it will not insert into a datetime column, I get the following error when I try: The conversion of a char data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out-of-range datetime value. So I can't setup datetime criteria for running a report off of the Stored Procedure. Original Value: 733416 Equivalent Calendar Value: 01-09-2009 Below is my code... I'm so close but I can't quite see what's wrong, I need my convert statement to actually convert the Julian value (733416) into a compatible TSQL DATETIME value. • Polynomial operations using operator overloading

  I'm trying to use operator overloading to define the basic operations (+,-,*,/) for my polynomial class but when i run the program it crashes and my computer frozes. Update3 Ok i successfully done the first two operations(+,-). Now at multiplication, after multiplying each term of the first polynomial with each of the second i want to sort the poly list descending and then if there are more than one term with the same power to merge them in only one term, but for some reason it doesn't compile because of the sort function which doesn't work. • Asp.net MVC Calling ActionLink in Codebehind

  I am new to asp.net and MVC, so please go easy on me. :) I have successfully made a small MVC application. There is a database that contains a table named "Entry" and I have made Controllers for this. Also I have a view for Details and list. This works fin. My problem is in my index page. (not the view Index, but the frontpage). There I dynamically build a TreeView as a menu, with some Categories. In this menu there is under the categories there is my Entries from the database. They show up fin. I insert the entries as a TreeNode what holds the entry id and so forth. What I want is: that the entries in my treeview work as a link to the Detail view of the Entry. So if I click on a entry in the TreeView it will show the Detail page of this Entry. But I can't make it work. How to I use the <%= Html.ActionLink() % in codebehind? Or is it this the wrong way? If calling the view or controller in codebehind is the wrong way to do it. Then how? Thanks in advance.

• Separating Javascript and Html, when dynamically adding html via javascript

  I am currently building a very dynamic table for a list application, which will basically perform basic CRUD functions via AJAX. What I would like to do is separate the visual design and javascript to the point where I can change the design side without touching the JS side. This would only work where the design stays roughly the same(i would like to use it for rapid protyping) Here is an example. <table> <tr><td>record-123</td><td>I am line 123</td><td>delete row</td></tr> <tr><td>record-124</td><td>I am line 124</td><td>delete row</td></tr> <tr><td>record-125</td><td>I am line 125</td><td>delete row</td></tr> <tr><td>add new record</td></tr> </table> Now, when I add a new record, I would like to insert a new row of html, but I would rather not put this html into the javascript file. What I am considering is creating a row like this on the page, near the table. <tr style='visble:none;' id='template-row'><td>record-id</td><td>content-area</td><td>delete row</td></tr> And when I come to add the new row, I search the page for the tags with the id=template-row , and then grab it, do a string replace on it, and then put it in the right place in the page. As long as the design doesn't shift radically, and I keep the placeholder strings the same, it means designs can be quickly modified without touching the js. Can any give any advice on a methodology like this?

  When I'm retrieving image from the sqlite database my Bitmap object bm return null value can any one help me..? I found problem in my database.. When I store the byte array in blob data type in database table that time the size of the byte array was 2280.. • Images missing after moving Django to new server

  I'm moving Django project to new server. I'm newbie in Django, and I don't know where should be upload folder. There are all images which should be displayed on website. In config file I haven't seen upload folder I could specify, so I'm guessing it always should be the same location for django projects or I just can't find it. Locations are saved in database. When I've put uploaded files into media folder, so url was like domain.co.uk/media/upload/media/images/year/month/day/image_name.ext and the same is on the old website, images on website ware still missing. All images are visible if I put url by hand, but django doesn't seems to see files.   Hi, we are solving the problem with eshop (php, mysql). The client want to have the same eshop on two domains with shared shopping cart. In the shop customer can do the shopping without users account (can't be logged in). And there is the problem, how to make the shared shopping cart cross domain. The data from cart is stored in sessions, which we stored in database too. But we can't solve the problem in carrying data over domains. Identifying unlogged user is not holeproof (research). The example, how it should work Customer goes to domainOne and add some things to the cart. Than he goes to domainTwo (by link, typing domain address, however) and add some other things to the cart. In the cart he has things from both domains (after refreshing page). Do you have any idea, how to solve this problem? What didn't work: redirecting is not possible due to customer requirments cookies are related to domain set_cookie with the other domain didn't work the simpliest way is to carry over only the sessionid (stored in cookies) but we don't know, how to wholeproof identify unlogged users. is there any other place, where data can be stored on client side except cookies? (probably not) we can't use sending sessionid by params in url (if user click to link to the other domain) or resolving the header referer, bcs we don't know, how user can achieve the other domain. If you can't understand me, take me a question. If you think, that having eshop on two domains with shared (common) cart is bad idea, don't tell me, we know it. Thanks for each answer.

  Hi Everybody, I have a deeper question regarding debug functionality of Linq to Sql SubmitChanges() Function. I want to save a record in a table of a locally cached db (localdbcache: server SqlExpress 2008 client SqlCE). Before calling SubmitChanges I can find the new item via DataContext.GetChangeSet(). After calling Submit Changes, the items to insert have been removed from the ChangeSet. (That's what this function is supposed to do.) There are no Changes Conflicts and no error in the db's log output. No Exception at all.   Hey! I am trying to create a relationship between a Prospect List (target list) and a Contact. I create a new contact and get the id of a prospect list all using classes I created which are just wrappers for the soap api calls sugar provides. But the code boils down to this soap call: $this->_sugarsoap->client->__soapCall('set_relationship', array($this->getSessionid(),$relationship)); $this-getSessionid() Is the session Id and $relationship is an array which holds this: array 0 => string 'ProspectLists' (length=13) 1 => string '180ab1f5-cf7e-d386-50f8-4c18a790e016' (length=36) 2 => string 'Contacts' (length=8) 3 => string '76323942-8cbb-3224-f18a-4c19efa80a1b' (length=36) After I try this I always get this error: (I do a var_dump of the returned values of the soap call) object(stdClass)[5] public 'number' => string '20' (length=2) public 'name' => string 'Module Does Not Exist' (length=21) public 'description' => string 'This module is not available on this server' (length=43) This seems like a sugarcrm bug because I do have the contacts module and also the prospect lists module. I know this for a fact because I add a contact via the soap call and also retrieve the id of a prospect list via the soap call. I found this thread in the sugar forums and I did try the code given there but I still got the same error. Anyone have a solution for this? I really need to associate a contact to a prospect list (target list) via a soap call. I am using SugarCRM 5.5.0 (I also tried with sugarcrm 5.5.2 and got the same error) on ubuntu server using mysql. Thanks!

  I need to maintain a large list of python pickleable objects that will quickly execute the following algorithm: The list will have 4 pointers and can: Read\Write each of the 4 pointed nodes Insert new nodes before the pointed nodes Increase a pointer by 1 Pop nodes from the beginning of the list (without overlapping the pointers) Add nodes at the end of the list The list can be very large (300-400 MB), so it shouldnt be contained in the RAM. The nodes are small (100-200 bytes) but can contain various types of data. The most efficient way it can be done, in my opinion, is to implement some paging-mechanism. On the harddrive there will be some database of a linked-list of pages where in every moment up to 5 of them are loaded in the memory. On insertion, if some max-page-size was reached, the page will be splitted to 2 small pages, and on pointer increment, if a pointer is increased beyond its loaded page, the following page will be loaded instead. This is a good solution, but I don't have the time to write it, especially if I want to make it generic and implement all the python-list features. Using a SQL tables is not good either, since I'll need to implement a complex index-key mechanism. I tried ZODB and zc.blist, which implement a BTree based list that can be stored in a ZODB database file, but I don't know how to configure it so the above features will run in reasonable time. I don't need all the multi-threading\transactioning features. No one else will touch the database-file except for my single-thread program. Can anyone explain me how to configure the ZODB\zc.blist so the above features will run fast, or show me a different large-list implementation?

  I want to work with PDO, through PHP command line. It works perfect through the PHP web API, but not through the command line. But when I execute the command: php test.php, it says unknown class PDO. I think it has something to do with the thread-safety difference. • CKEditor createFakeParserElement: writeHtml is not a function

  I am trying to write a plugin for CKEditor that is basically just a iframe with PHP content. The user browses around, selects the video they want and then they click insert. The problem is that I need to create a "fake element" for this video, as inserting a video directly seems to show up as a Flash object, and we need to make it look a little different.   I am using scala 2.7.7, and wanted to parse CSV file and store the data in SQLite database. I ended up using OpenCSV java library to parse the CSV file, and using sqlitejdbc library.   I have a existing parent-child relationship I am trying to map in Fluent Nhibernate: [RatingCollection] -- [Rating] Rating Collection has: ID (database generated ID) Code Name Rating has: ID (database generated id) Rating Collection ID Code Name I have been trying to figure out which permutation of HasMany makes sense here. What I have right now: HasMany<Rating>(x => x.Ratings) .WithTableName("Rating") .KeyColumnNames.Add("RatingCollectionId") .Component(c => { c.Map(x => x.Code); c.Map(x => x.Name); ); It works from a CRUD perspective but because it's a bag it ends up deleting the rating contents any time I try to do a simple update / insert to the Ratings property. What I want is an indexed collection but not using the database generated ID (which is in the six digit range right now). Any thoughts on how I could get a zero-based indexed collection (so I can go entity.Ratings[0].Name = "foo") which would allow me to modify the collection without deleting/reinserting it all when persisting?

• How to maintain a job history using Quartz scheduler

  I'd like to maintain a history of jobs that were scheduled by a Quartz scheduler containing the following properties: 'start time', 'end time', 'success', 'error'. There are two interfaces available for this: ITriggerListener and IJobListener (I'm using the C# naming convention for interfaces because I'm using Quartz.NET but the same question could be asked for the Java version). IJobListener has a JobToBeExecuted and a JobWasExecuted method. The latter provides a JobExecutionException so that you know when something went wrong. However, there is no way to correlate JobToBeExecuted and JobWasExecuted. Suppose my job runs for ten minutes. I start it at t0 and t0+2 (so they overlap). I get two calls to JobToBeExecuted and insert two start times into my history table. When both jobs finish at t1 and t1+2 I get two calls to JobWasExecuted. How do I know what database record to update in each call (to store an end time with its corresponding start time)? ITriggerListener has another problem. There is no way to get any errors inside the TriggerComplete method when a job failed. How do I get the desired behavior?
