• ASP MVC Creating Form Rows Dynamically

  Hi Guys, I haven't even attempted this yet and am creating this question for advice really. I have a strongly typed page which receives a form model composed of several components. It is to create a mitigating circumstance (MC) for a student at a university for my final year project. A MC can be composed of the initial problem, assessment extensions, and I use a multi select box to allow the user to select staff retrieved from the database which are able to view the MC once created. The thing is I feel that a student could be granted many assignment extensions for one problem. I am wander if it is possible to include a button/image on the form which when clicked will create a new assessment extension object, and duplicate the form components to set the values for the object? This would all need to occur without any page refreshes. Any advice, or links to good tutorials would be appreciated. I have so far been unable to find any suitable examples. Thanks, Jon

• c++ Sorting a vector based on values of other vector, or what's faster?

  Hi, There are a couple of other posts about sorting a vector A based on values in another vector B. Most of the other answers tell to create a struct or a class to combine the values into one object and use std::sort. Though I'm curious about the performance of such solutions as I need to optimize code which implements bubble sort to sort these two vectors. I'm thinking to use a vector<pair<int,int>> and sort that. I'm working on a blob-tracking application (image analysis) where I try to match previously tracked blobs against newly detected blobs in video frames where I check each of the frames against a couple of previously tracked frames and of course the blobs I found in previous frames. I'm doing this at 60 times per second (speed of my webcam). Any advice on optimizing this is appreciated.   Hello, I just wanted to know how to create lightbox effect with JQuery, I mean let's suppose I have div, and when i click some button it shows that div at the center of the browser window across all browsers with a transparent background behind. In this div i could show just about anything including a form, image, or some text so it becomes sort of stylish alert box. So how to: Center a div across all browsers and behind this div put a transparent background covering entire screen of browser. Note: I know there are a host such effects out there, i just want to know how do i create a simple centered div with transparent background behind. • Converting a Matrix to a grid of colors

  I'm currently making a console application in C# (will be going to a Windows Form application in the future. Sooner if needed). My current objective is to have a matrix (current size 52x42) be exported as an image (bitmap, jpeg, png, I'm flexible) where each value in the matrix (0, 1, 2, 3) is portrayed as a white, black, blue, or red square of size 20px x 20px with a grid 1px wide seperating each 'cell'. Can this even be done in a console application, and if so how? If not, what would I need to get it working in a Windows Form application?

• Why Resource (.resx) file added on merely changing Form size and on adding button which is not resou

  1- Resource files suppose to be added on adding some resource in application like image or audio or video etc. But if I just change size of form a .resx file under that particular form. Changing size of form does not add any resource so why this .resx file. 2- I dropped a button on form and a resource file is included again this button is not some kind of resource, it is object created and having information in designer file. 3- A resource file added on dropping button on form but if I delete this resource file and run application it compile and run with NO error and button is still there. If this button has any relation with resource file then there must by some kind of compile or runtime error AND if .resx file has nothing to do with button then why it was added? I am using VS 2008. • Doing a POST with cURL but server shows GET

• IE cannot download file with unicode pathname

  I have a web-app that allows users to upload and download image files by pressing buttons on a web page. A user of this page is reporting that IE 7 and 8 fail to download files when the files have Unicode pathnames. IE prompts the user with a dialog stating: "Internet explorer cannot download (file) at (webserver).". Unfortunately I have not been able to reproduce the problem using these versions on my machine. My question is, what could cause this, and how can I prevent it from happening? I have read about problems with cache control (I currently have it set to no-cache); however, I am not using HTTP-S, and the problem only occurs with file-names containing Unicode characters.

  I have a table (3x3) that counts "< /form" as space in IE. The code for 1 td looks like: <style type="text/css"> table { border-width: 0px; border-collapse: collapse; padding: 0px; } td, th { padding: 0px; } </style> <table><tr><td><form name="form" action="index.php" method="post"><input type="hidden" name="from" value="a" /><input type="image" src="pic1.gif" alt="1" name="submit" value="submit" /></form></td> There is no spaces anywhere outside the tags. Inside the td, there is a form, with a hidden field and a picture. Firefox shows only the picture, but IE has spaces between the rows. I did a little debugging, and found it was from the /form. Does anyone know a fix to this?

  I am trying to make a multiple image uploader. The file upload fields are being added in the form dynamically using jquery. I tried making an array of the fields since I don't want to have a hidden field. so my generated upload fields look like <input type="file" id="img0" name="img[]"/> <input type="file" id="img1" name="img[]"/> <input type="file" id="img2" name="img[]"/> ..... .. And on the php side I did something like if(isset($_FILES['img'])) { foreach($_FILES['img'] as $k=>$v) { if($v!="") { uploadImage($k,0,0,0,"content/gallery/"); } } } Now I know I am way too wrong, since in that code I am looping through the 'img' file's properties instead of all images....but I have no idea how to fix this. PS: uploadImage is a function I wrote which expects the file input field's name as the first parameter.

• Java swing doesn't show changes to source

  I'm using Java Swing graphical editor with netbeans to make my project...but using it brings some limitations like I can't add to a jpanel an image,using java swing options. So i'll need to code it, implementing a new jPanel. My problem is that the code generated by the java swing graphical editor can't be edited so instead of adding the new JPanel code in the initComponents() section I'm doing it after this function is called in the constructor of my main JPanel. But any code I add is not recognized by the "Designer" which means that after making my coded objects I can't use them in the "Designer" and everything must be coded, which is a pain considering how much easier is previewing and moving elements in the "Designer" tool. How can I code what I want but steel appear in the "DEsigner"? Thx in advance

• Multithreaded update of multiple ProgressBars

  I have developped an application that can process data (in my case image algorithms performed on videos). I have developed different ProcessingMethods. Sometimes several videos are processed in parallel. Each process runs in a seperate thread. I have a GUI with several ProgressBars, one for each thread that is processing data. What is a good way to update the ProgressBar? Today my GUI is creating all the processing threads and one progressBars for each thread. Then I pass those progressBars to the threads, which pass them to the ProcessingMethod. The ProcessingMethod will then update the progressbar (using Invoke(..)). I have different processingMethods. Within each of these methods I have copy-paste code to update the progressBar. Although I am a new to programming, I know copy-paste is not good. What is a good way to make it better?

• Publishing via "File System" in Visual Studio 2010 - Doesn't work!

  Hi, this is an extremely frustrating situation. We have just upgraded to Visual Studio 2010, and very nice it is, except for when it won't do something really simple, like Publish your ASP.NET Web Application to a folder on your desktop. For some unearthly reason, what used to work flawlessly in 2008 is now generating an error: It stops Publishing, after successfully Building, saying: Error: Copying file Images\Profile\32_32.JPG to obj\x64\Release\Package\PackageTmp\Images\Prolfile\32_32.JPG failed. Could not find file 'Images\CelebrityProfileImages\32_32.JPG'. The problem is that there isn't any reference to that file in the project code (in the database, yes, but not in the code itself), and we don't want to store such images with the project (and they're not). Why (and how) has it suddenly decided that this unreferenced image (and presumably more if I get it to move past this one) is suddenly necessary to run the project? How can I stop this from happening? Thanks for any help.

My guess is that because this is a class method which gets called from instance methods, There is no active autorelease pool in place or it's one that only gets drained when I quit the app. Could that be right?

Now i want to create one big array with all the pixel values of all the images. Therefore I have to call this method several times. Now I would like to concatenate the previous output to the current output until all images are read. Is there a way that I can make it start on the same line as the icon? I did try float left on the paragraph but that makes it go before the icon.

• An efficient way to store view counts for objects?

  I maintain an application where users are able to store images, and then share them. The system is powered by MongoDB at the back end. Most of the image depiction pages are cached as flat HTML files, but I can run some code just before loading the file. I've decided to implement a view count for the system. I am wondering what is the best storage place for that. It should be like Memcached but it should save the viewcounts every hour or so, so even if our server has to be restarted we won't lose the view counts. What is the best solution for that (preferably with a PHP extension as a client)?

• Can I delete a differential backup from SQL Server 2005?

  I often like to create backups when testing the software I work on, and will sometimes create a differential backup if I want to be able to get back to multiple previous states. However, sometimes I realize that I forgot one thing I wanted to include in a differential backup, or I no longer need a previous differential backup. Sometimes I simply want to create a new scenario from the original base image and start working with a new series of differential backups. So I'd like to be able to delete some older differential backups so I don't get confused about which ones I'm using. But I can't find any way to delete just the differential backups, selectively or all at once.
