  • Simulating remote environment?

    I'm building a .NET MVC application which will be deployed on a Windows 2003 server. The server has a folder @ c:\Website\Files which needs to be written to from the application. How do I cope with this in my development environment so that the MSI setup file, which I will compile, will work correctly when deployed? p.s. the folder is NOT located in a subdirectory of the application project

  • How do I uninstall Django Evolution?

    I installed it in my dev project. I would like to remove it and any trace of it in my database and my django app, not to mention my python install. I found it didn't quite do what I needed, but that's another topic, and I'm moving to South. Can I just delete the evolution tables in my django db, and remove it from the app settings? Or is there more to it?

  • TeamCity build number versus Ant build number task

    I have a build project that I run from TeamCity, now it takes the build.number from TeamCity. I want to be able to use the buildnumber task (Ant) which in my understanding when used, is supposed to change the value of build number property and increment it for next time. But it seems that I still get the build number from TeamCity. How can I use the build number from <buildnumber file="mybuild.number"/>?

  • Animate a GIF using Core Animation layers?

    I'm trying to animate a GIF and I hit a roadblock. I have an example of what I'm trying to do that uses the individual frames of the GIF and setting the animationImages property of a UIView. However in my project, the thing I want to animate is drawn using Layers. I'm looking for a quick and easy way to animate the frames without introducing too much complexity. Is there any animationImages equivalent with Layers? Does anybody have any ideas?

    Hi all, I'm a student in my first C++ programming class, and I'm working on a project where we have to create multiple custom exception classes, and then in one of our event handlers, use a try/catch block to handle them appropriately. My question is: How do I catch my multiple custom exceptions in my try/catch block? GetMessage() is a custom method in my exception classes that returns the exception explanation as a std::string.   • Pros and cons of escaping strategies in symfony

    I am still not sure in that matter. While turned on we're quite safe but some other problems appear (with passing template variables or counting characters). On the other hand we have magic turned off, everything is clear, but we have to manually escape every variable (that come from untrusted source) in templates. By the way, non-magic solution is used in Ruby-on-Rails. So the question is: when starting a new project in symfony do you disable escaping_strategy and why?

    I'm working on a GWT project, and I have a bunch of Java classes that use Java Object Iterators on the server side. As I was reading through the internet...Iterators seem to not be serializable preventing me from sending them over to the client side from the server side. I do not find a compelling reason for switching to Mocking frameworks from hand written stubs.     General error: 1030 Got error -1 from storage engine the used storage engine is innodb the query was runned when i got it today morning was: SELECT feeds.* FROM feeds ORDER BY RAND() LIMIT 1 i know rand() is bad but it's very small table (<500 records) and not loaded project this error i receive approximately once a day. cannot google anything relevant :-(

    Hi, When I decompile my CHM file use microsoft html help workshop. It generates HHC,HHK and bunch of HTML files but no HHP file. When I create an HHP file using new project option and then compile it to create another CHM file. Now these two CMH files are not of same size and they behave differently. Am I missing something here? I am simply decompiling and re-compiling the same CHM file but the result is different.

    I've recently used git svn and enjoyed it very much. Now I'm starting a new project at a different customer. At that site the SCM of choice is ClearCase. I haven't found a baked equivalent of git svn for ClearCase. Is there anybody who has tried to use git locally as a front-end to ClearCase using some tricks, configuration or scripting with any measure of success? If so can you please explain the method used?

  • Is it possible to have all "git diff" commands use the "Python diff", in all git projects?

    When including the line *.py diff=python in a local .gitattributes file, git diff produces nice labels for the different diff hunks of Python files (with the name of the function where the lines changed take place, etc.). Is is possible to ask git to use this diff mode for all Python files across all git projects? I tried to set a global ~/.gitattributes, but it is not used by local git repositories. Is there a more convenient method than initializing each new git project with a ln -s ~/.gitattributes?
