• How to track conversion rate (clicks to sales) from an internal advertising system?

  I am currently writing an interal advertising system for a company client's website, where the adverts will only be seen by internal users, and all transactions take place internally to the site (i.e. the adverts are for member-only content available on the site). Does anyone have any recommendations as to the best way to track the conversion rate of these adverts (i.e. views:clicks:sales)? EDIT I'm not looking for a 'Why don't you use google analystics'-type answer, I'm looking into possible architecture outlines, i.e. a 'why don't use store a guid in a cache temporarily and see if it ties to the advert' kind of answer. /EDIT In a previous job I did something based on an internal cache, which simply did view:click tracking, however the addition of the sales rate makes this task more complex, especially if we take into account the idea that someone may click through to an advert and not purchase immediately. • Is there a way to get the current UIEvent being handled?

  I'm working in a class that is a delegate of another class; this other class is in a third-party library that I'd like to avoid changing if at all possible. The original class is handling a -touchesEnded event, and is delegating responsibility to me, but it doesn't pass the UIEvent itself to me. Is there a way to get a handle to the current event in progress? It's a double-tap handler, and all that is passed to me is the view being touched, and the point at which the touch occurred. I want to know exactly how many touches are involved in the event. Thanks! randy

• Cannot step into .NET framework source with VS2008 SP1.

  Somehow my VS2008 SP1 has lost the ability to step into .NET framework sources. I've played around with checkboxes to no end; I've re-deleted the Symbol cache folder a dozen times; and I've tried all kinds of debug symbol servers. All it does is download some .PDB files, but when I try to select a stack frame in .NET, I always get the message about no source available and "do you want to view disassembly". What gives? Added: Web application; Windows Vista Business x32; .NET 3.5 SP1.

  I'm planning making a game for AppStore, so I'm studying GLES. But, GLES 1.1 and 2.0 APIs are different about handling in some features.(and limitations) I have not enough time to consider both of them, I have to choosing one. 2.0 is clearly better in developer's view, but I'm worry about it's market share. I wish most users moved on newer SGX based hardware, but in fact, I don't know. Does anybody have information about location of those hardware ratio data in iPhone OS supported hardwares? (iPhone/iPod touch, per GPU) Please let me know.

• django/apache permissions problem

  I'm running a django project on Centos 5.4 and serving it with httpd/mod_wsgi. I can't figure out the correct permissions for /home/website/django_project so that I don't get a 403 error. In my httpd.conf the user and group to run httpd as is apache. The group django is set up with website and apache as members. The owner of /home/website and all subdirs is website:django, and the permissions are rwxrwx---. Right now the project works fine with the dev server, but if I try to view it through apache, I get a 403 error. chmod -R o+rx /home/website/django_project fixes the problem, but this obviously isn't a good solution. • Add Expansion Button to Stackpanel

  I'd like to add Elements to a StackPanel (or Listbox / Listview if it would make that easier) and automatically add a Button (like "...") to indicate that there are more children than there is space for. Consider a calendar that has appointment items in each day. If there are more appointments than as much as can be displayed a button is displayed to go to a detailed view for that day. Can this be done automatically, or how do I calculate the positions of the stackpanel and its items. It's for windows store development in c#. Thanks in advance.

• What's the best way to return something like a collection of `std::auto_ptr`s in C++03?

  std::auto_ptr is not allowed to be stored in an STL container, such as std::vector. However, occasionally there are cases where I need to return a collection of polymorphic objects, and therefore I can't return a vector of objects (due to the slicing problem). I can use std::tr1::shared_ptr and stick those in the vector, but then I have to pay a high price of maintaining separate reference counts, and object that owns the actual memory (the container) no longer logically "owns" the objects because they can be copied out of it without regard to ownership. C++0x offers a perfect solution to this problem in the form of std::vector<std::unique_ptr<t>>, but I don't have access to C++0x. Some other notes: I don't have access to C++0x, but I do have TR1 available. I would like to avoid use of Boost (though it is available if there is no other option) I am aware of boost::ptr_container containers (i.e. boost::ptr_vector), but I would like to avoid this because it breaks the debugger (innards are stored in void *s which means it's difficult to view the object actually stored inside the container in the debugger)

• Ruby: totalling amounts

  I have a Donation.rb model with an amount column that takes an integer. I want to sum all the individual donations together and show the total on the home page. In the home_controller, I'm doing @donations = Donation.all and then in the view I do <% sum = 0 %> <% @donations.each do |donation| %> <%= sum += donation.amount if donation.amount? %> <% end %> The problem is that this is printing the running sum each time a new donation is added to it. I just want the total sum at the end after they've all been added together.

  I Am trying to connect to a method in my controller, with a button. I can connect though this link: @Html.ActionLink("Print", "Print", new { id = Model.SalesContractId}) But i Don't want a link, i want my button on my dialog to do it. • UITableView animations for a "lazy" UI design?

  I have a UITableViewController that allows the user to perform editing tasks. Now, once a user has committed his change, the table view doesn't directly change the model and updates the table, rather "informs" the model what the user wants to do. The model in turn updates accordingly and then posts a notification that it has been changed. As far as I've seen, I need to begin/end updates on the tableview and in between change the model to its' final form. My changes though, are asynchronous and cannot guarantee to update the model before 'tableview endupdates' is called. Currently, each time I receive a 'model did change' notificaiton, I reload the entire table. So, how can I really make cell animations (delete/insert) work? Should the model fire a notification for each little change instead of the entire table?

• MVC 3 Razor PopUp Window

  I need to open a new pop up window on click of a button in a view. The new window should be redirect to a specific actionmethod in a specific controller. I also need to provide attributes for size of the new pop up window. I get following Javascript error: Line: 19 Char: 1 Error: Invalid argument. Code: 0 When I check the ViewSource of the HTML rendered, I find the line to be the one which is rendering the button. I am using Windows Vista with IE 7. I am working on MVC 3 with Razor Engine in VS 2010

In order to do so, I have added the following method to the delegate.m file: - (void)alertView:(UIAlertView *)alertView clickedButtonAtIndex:(NSInteger)buttonIndex { if (buttonIndex==0) //Run some code else //Other code } But this method is not called when I press either of the buttons! • Binding to an XElement

Basically I am making a editor for certain elements in a web.config and I extract them as XElements and my View binds to a Collection of DataItems which has a property that contains my XElement. When I do Text="{Binding Path=Data, Mode=OneWay, NotifyOnSourceUpdated=True}"/> I get all the text of the Element, but If I try Text="{Binding Path=Data.Elements[], Mode=OneWay, NotifyOnSourceUpdated=True}"/> It doesn't work the TextBox is empty. I am trying to find a way to Template different sections dynamically to make them easier to edit instead of editing raw XMl.

If this can only be done by writing a custom QStyledItemDelegate that's totally fine, I want to rule out whether this is the correct approach or whether it's best to look at setLayout or similar, example code would help. • Allow users to enter a variable length list of items in asp.net form

  I need to let my users enter a variable length list of items into something that looks like a grid view (or a series of standard text boxes stacked vertically). Each item could be a few characters or a few hundred characters long, and I just want them to enter a "sentence", and then tab to the next row, and always having another blank one ready to go at the bottom of the list. I don't want to save any data to my SQL Server DB until they enter the entire list and then click on a "save all" button. When they hit the "save all" button they will be given a preview screen where the data will be presented as standard HTML ordered list. If they confirm/save, then each row of the grid will then be saved as a separate row into my SQL Server database (with an index to remember the order). What ASP.Net (or Jquery/javascript) UI control would be the best to use in this situation?

  Hello! Think there might be something about this MVP approach I have completely misunderstood. Currently I am struggling to apply the MVP pattern to the part of my application consisting of a StackLayoutPanel (accordion). To me it seems natural to have a presenter and a view per stack... but how do I allow the different presenters to react when the user switch the state of the stack panel? If someone could sketch an application of the MVP pattern in the case of an accordion application I would be really, really grateful! • Insert methode of TableAdapter not working?

  I'm using ADO.NET in my C# project. In my form I added a SourceBinding element from my toolbox in VS2010. I set the connection to the table of my dataset. It creates a DataAdapter automaticly for my. I want to insert a record, so I call the Insert() method of the DataAdapter. But when I view my database data, it doesn't have any new records... orderID = this.orderTableAdapter.Insert("", "", (int)OrderStatus.IN_CONSTRUCTION, DateTime.Now); Or do I need to insert it manually with the SqlCommand???

• Django Find Out if User is Authenticated in Custom Tag

  I'm trying to create a custom tag. Inside this custom tag, I want to be able to have some logic that checks if the user is logged in, and then have the tag rendered accordingly. This is what I have: def user_actions(context): request = template.Variable('request').resolve(context) return { 'auth': request['user'].is_athenticated() } register.inclusion_tag('layout_elements/user_actions.html', takes_context=True)(user_actions) When I run this, I get this error: Caught VariableDoesNotExist while rendering: Failed lookup for key [request] in u'[{}]' The view that renders this ends like this: return render_to_response('start/home.html', {}, context_instance=RequestContext(request)) Why doesn't the tag get a RequestContext object instead of the Context object? How can I get the tag to receive the RequestContext instead of the Context? EDIT: Whether or not it's possible to get a RequestContext inside a custom tag, I'd still be interested to know the "correct" or best way to determine a user's authentication state from within the custom tag. If that's not possible, then perhaps that kind of logic belongs elsewhere? Where?

• Movement in game programming

  This question may have been asked before, but I'm starting to get into game programming on the Android. I'm having a hard time figuring out the best way to move an object. To put it simply, lets say I have a bitmap located on 0,0 and i want to move it across the screen. The obvious way to do it would be to simply increment the X position by one every time the Surface View onDraw method gets called. But what if I wanted to make it move faster? I could increment it by two or three instead of one, but then the movement starts to get really choppy and stupid looking. What is the best way to go about doing this?

Among these controls would be 2 sliders, whose event handling is to be done in CFrameWnd derived class. After this, I drag-dropped a CSliderCtrl on the IDD_DIALOGBAR_CONTROL in Resource View. Now, how/where should I handle the CSliderCtrl's events? There would be 2 such slider controls. • How to use php variables (arrays) in mysql select statements?

  Hi everybody, How do you use a php variable (array) inside a mysql select statement? I am designing an auction site and currently working on a page that lets people view a list of all the current bids for an item. I want to display 3 columns: amountbid - the amount each bidder has bid for the item (held in tblbid) bidderid - the id of each bidder who has bid (found in tbluser) total_positivity_feedback - how many users have left positive feedback for the bidder (calculated from tblfeedback) To find the 'amount' and the 'bidderid' columns i pass the essayid URL parameter from the previous page. This works fine. Despite this, i can't display the total_positivity_feedback column for the various users who have made each bid. My mysql query looks like this: select tblbid.bidderid, tblbid.amount, (select count(tblfeedback.feedbackid) from tblfeedback WHERE tblfeedback.writerid = "ARRAY VARIABLE GOES HERE") AS total_positivity_feedback FROM tblbid WHERE tblbid.essayid = $essayid_bids I assume that the only way to accomplish this is to make the variable contain the bidderid's of those people who bid for that particular essay? • PHP: Iterate through folders and display HTML contends

  Hi, I’m currently trying to develop a method to get a overview of all my different web templates I’ve created and (legally) downloaded over the years. I thought about a displaying them like Wordpress is previewing it’s templates view a small preview windows, displaying the concrete file with styles and everything. How to divide them into rows and columns and create AJAX modal window open on preview and pagination and so on I believe I can manage, but it is the concept itself about iterate over several folders then find all index.htm / index.html pages and displaying them. I’ve not worked very much with directories in PHP and the only references and code stumps I’ve found so far is just to list all the files in a certain directory like, what it contains. I would be really grateful if someone knew about a script, a function, snippet or just could get me a nudge in the right direction to create such a (probably simple) preview function.
