• Take Control Of Web Control ClientID Values in ASP.NET 4.0

  Each server-side Web control in an ASP.NET Web Forms application has an <code>ID</code> property that identifies the Web control and is name by which the Web control is accessed in the code-behind class. When rendered into HTML, the Web control turns its server-side <code>ID</code> value into a client-side <code>id</code> attribute. Ideally, there would be a one-to-one correspondence between the value of the server-side <code>ID</code> property and the generated client-side <code>id</code>, but in reality things aren't so simple. • Programmaticaly finding the Landau notation (Big O or Theta notation) of an algorithm?

  I'm used to search for the Landau (Big O, Theta...) notation of my algorithms by hand to make sure they are as optimized as they can be, but when the functions are getting really big and complex, it's taking way too much time to do it by hand. it's also prone to human errors. I spent some time on Codility (coding/algo exercises), and noticed they will give you the Landau notation for your submitted solution (both in Time and Memory usage). I was wondering how they do that... How would you do it? Is there another way besides Lexical Analysis or parsing of the code? PS: This question concerns mainly PHP and or JavaScript, but I'm opened to any language and theory.

  Is there anyone out there who has mastered to retrieve some data programmatically from Eloqua? First of all, I'm more or less a newbie, as far as JAVA. I can follow tutorials, take directions and will Google till my fingers bleed. I understand the basics and am slightly familiar with OOP. My main problem is that I have a Friday deadline (and tomorrow is Thanksgiving). At any rate, all the Eloqua code snippets (that I've been able to find) illustrate one aspect of a specific issue, and that's it. In my case, I would greatly appreciate a JAVA project of some sort, with all the necessary files to do web services (WSDL, SOAP and perhaps WSIT) and the main class and all that included. No, I don't want you to do my work for me! Just give me enough to find my way around, enter the information I need to retrieve and all that. I'll take it from there.   I think I already got the idea of the Entity System inspired by Adam Martin (t-machine). I want to start using this for my next project. I already know the basic of Entity, Components, and Systems. My problem is how to handle UI / HUD. For example, a quest window, skill window, character info window, etc. How do you handle UI events (eg. pressing a button)? These are stuff that doesn't need to be processed every frame. Currently, I'm using MVC to code UI but I don't think that'll be compatible for Entity System.   I have a multi-language site for English and Chinese (Hong Kong). My previous setting for Chinese Hong Kong (zh-hk) had: <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" dir="ltr" lang="zh-hk" xml:lang="zh-hk"> Shortly, I began to notice browser with other Chinese language sub-codes like zh-tw and zh-cn were seeing my English site in search engines instead of Chinese Hong Kong (zh-hk), which makes sense. I want to change my html lang to: <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" dir="ltr" lang="zh" xml:lang="zh"> Would this cover all Chinese language settings? Also, would Google prefer to show pages that match language subcodes of the browser/country (zh-hk for Hong Kong, zh-cn for Taiwan) than a general language code (zh)?

  I was verbally offered a job and the manager insisted that I start the day after the following day from the interview; so two days after the interview. I left the interview unsure of the offer the manager called me later that day and I agreed to take the position. At this point, I was told that I would get an offer letter the following day and would start the day after that. Later that evening I was asked for a code sample. I have yet to receive the offer letter the business day is about to close. I've been mostly contracting and usually answer technical questions or show samples at the beginning of the process and find this situation somewhat odd. Is this a common practice? Should I call the manager before business closes?

  I'm now learning Gerrit (which is the first code review tool I use). Gerrit requires a reviewed change to consist of a single commit. My feature branch has about 10 commits. The gerrit-prefered way is to squash those 10 commits into a single one. However this way if the commit will be merged into the target branch, the internal history of that feature branch will be lost. For example, I won't be able to use git-bisect to bisect into those commits. Am I right? I am a little bit worried about this state of things. What is the rationale for this choice? Is there any way of doing this in Gerrit without losing history?

  Relating to this question, I have another question regarding unit testing functions in the utility classes: Assume you have function signatures like this: public function void doSomething(InternalClass obj, InternalElement element) where InternalClass and InternalElement are both Classes which source code are not available, because they are hidden in the API. Additionally, doSomething only operates on obj and element. I thought about mocking those classes away but this option is not possible due to the fact that they do not implement an interface at all which I could use for my Mocking classes. However, I need to fill obj with defined data to test doSomething. How can this problem be solved?
