  • Displaying the selected item differently in ComboBox

    I have a combo box in which I set up an ItemTemplate that looks something like this: <ComboBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal"> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Piece.NoPiece}" Width="50" /> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Piece.Description}" Width="170" /> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Piece.Categorie.NomCategorie}" /> </StackPanel> </DataTemplate> </ComboBox.ItemTemplate> As you can see, I got three columns that let the user see different piece of information. However, I would like the selected item in the combo to display only the second column. In other word, is there a way to have an ItemTemplate that displays items in a different manner when you scroll down versus when it's closed and you only see the selection?

    I'm using the jQuery droppable/dragable to reorder a treeview (made up of ul/li items) I have no problems making a element and dragging it into the tree When I define the items to be draggable, the code doesn´t work any more (the items are classed as "droppables" but the drop event won´t run) Isn't this supposed to be possible?

  • Can zlib.crc32 or zlib.adler32 be safely used to mask primary keys in URLs?

    In Django Design Patterns, the author recommends using zlib.crc32 to mask primary keys in URLs. After some quick testing, I noticed that crc32 produces negative integers about half the time, which seems undesirable for use in a URL. zlib.adler32 does not appear to produce negatives, but is described as "weaker" than CRC. Is this method (either CRC or Adler-32) safe for usage in a URL as an alternate to a primary key? (i.e. is it collision-safe?) Is the "weaker" Adler-32 a satisfactory alternative for this task? How the heck do you reverse this?! That is, how do you determine the original primary key from the checksum?

    Win32 Virtual listviews (LVS_REPORT view) created with the LVS_OWNERDATA style are supposed not to scroll when LVSICF_NOSCROLL is used in the LVM_SETITEMCOUNT message or ListView_SetItemCountEx macro, according the MSDN documentation. However, this doesn't seem work, and the list-view scrolls regardless of the use of LVSICF_NOSCROLL. In these sorts of cases, 99% of the time it is something I have done incorrectly or overlooked. But, I've now run out of options. Have I missed something?

  • Opening an SQL CE file at runtime with Entity Framework 4

    I am getting started with Entity Framework 4, and I an creating a demo app as a learning exercise. The app is a simple documentation builder, and it uses a SQL CE store. Each documentation project has its own SQL CE data file, and the user opens one of these files to work on a project. The EDM is very simple. A documentation project is comprised of a list of subjects, each of which has a title, a description, and zero or more notes. So, my entities are Subject, which contains Title and Text properties, and Note, which has Title and Text properties. There is a one-to-many association from Subject to Note. I am trying to figure out how to open an SQL CE data file. A data file must match the schema of the SQL CE database created by EF4's Create Database Wizard, and I will implement a New File use case elsewhere in the app to implement that requirement. Right now, I am just trying to get an existing data file open in the app. I have reproduced my existing 'Open File' code below. I have set it up as a static service class called File Services. The code isn't working quite yet, but there is enough to show what I am trying to do. I am trying to hold the ObjectContext open for entity object updates, disposing it when the file is closed. So, here is my question: Am I on the right track? What do I need to change to make this code work with EF4? Is there an example of how to do this properly? Thanks for your help.     I have an issue and NO it is not homework, it's just a programmer who has been away from SQL for a long time having to solve a problem. I have the following table: create table students( studentid int identity(1,1), [name] varchar(200), [group] varchar(10), grade numeric(9,2) ) go The group is something arbitrary, assume it's the following "Group A", "Group B"... and so on. The grade is on a scale of 0 - 100. If there are 5 students in each group with grades randomly assigned, what is the best approach to getting the top 3 students (the top 80%) based on their grade? To be more concrete if I had the following: Ronald, Group A, 84.5 George H, Group A, 82.3 Bill, Group A, 92.0 George W, Group A, 45.5 Barack, Group A, 85.0 I'd get back Ronald, Bill, and Barack. I'd also need to do this over other groups.

  • How to suppress quotes in Powershell commands to executables

    Is there any way to supress the enclosing quotation marks around each command-line argument that powershell likes to generate and then pass to external executables for command line arguments that have spaces in them? Here's the situation: One way to unpack many installers is a command of the form: msiexec /a <packagename> /qn TARGETDIR="<path to folder with spaces>" Trying to execute this from powershell has proven quite difficult. Powershell likes to enclose parameters with spaces in double-quotes. The following lines: msiexec /a somepackage.msi /qn 'TARGETDIR="c:\some path"' msiexec /a somepackage.msi /qn $('TARGETDIR="c:\some path"') $td = '"c:\some path"' msiexec /a somepackage.msi /qn TARGETDIR=$td All result in the following command line (as reported by the Win32 GetCommandLine() api): "msiexec" /a somepackage.msi /qn "TARGETDIR="c:\some path"" This command line: msiexec /a somepackage.msi TARGETDIR="c:\some path" /qn results in "msiexec" /a fooinstaller.msi "TARGETDIR=c:\some path" /qn It seems that Powershell likes to enclose the results of expressions meant to represent one argument in quotation marks when passing them to external executables. This works fine for most executables. However, MsiExec is very specific about the quoting rules it wants and won't accept any of the command lines Powershell generates for paths have have spaces in them. Is there any way to suppress this behavior?

  • Does JSON.js cause conflicts with Sys.Serialization.JavaScriptSerializer.serialize

    I am using Telerik controls in my webforms and want to serialize object on the client. Since I am getting a stackoverflow error with Sys.Serialization.JavaScriptSerializer.deserialize I wanted to try JSON. With both JSON and and the MS library I get "Sys.Application is undefined." Has anyone encountered this what did you do as a work around? EDIT I am serializing my object on a parent page and passing them via an argument to a child window. The child window is in an IFRAME tag. The object can be used in the child page, but I receive the stackoverflow error when I serialize it. The object is an Array of objects.

  • swfobject weird behavior

    Hi All, I'm using swfobject to embed my flash. It's doing weird things. I've created a simple textfield using FlexBuilder. It's an AS3 project, which extends Sprite. I've set its width to be 640 and height to 450. Then, in the swfobject parameters of the page, I've also set 640 x 450. I've made the background nice and red and ugly so you can see it. :) http://www.brighttext.com/flash/TextFieldSetFormat.html It seems to be the right dimensions. BUT I've got a textfield which is supposed to be almost the same size and height. This runs fine in FlexBuilder (is the right size) but is all messed up once I add swfobject Can anyone see what is happening? EDIT NOTE: I just looked at it and it looks ok. But then I refreshed the page and the textfield is postage-stamp size (again -- this is the original behavior I saw.) It's now looking OK in firefox but not in IE8. Flash is supposed to look the same in all browsers !!??     My UITable is returning EXEC_BAD_ACCESS, but why! See this code snippet! Loading the UITableView works fine, so allXYZArray != nil and is populated!     I've got a subclass of AdvancedDataGrid showing a tree-like data structure. How can I, given the index returned by calculateDropIndex, get the item at that index? After reading through reams of code, it seems like the least terrible way is: var oldSelectedIndex:int = this.selectedIndex; var mouseOverIndex:int = this.calculateDropIndex(event); this.selectedItem = mouseOverIndex; var item:* = this.selectedItem; this.selectedIndex = oldSelectedIndex; The other option seems to be tinkering around with the iterator property... But, judging by the way I've seen it used, that will get pretty harry pretty quickly too. So, how can I get the item at a particular index in an advanced datagrid without going insane?

  • VS2010, VSS and post-commit hook?

    I'm using Visual Studio 2010 and VSS. Yes, I know VSS sucks. Hard. I'm attempting to force a move to TFS (since SVN integration with Expression and Sharepoint Designer is near impossible without forcing non-technical content managers to use TortoiseSVN), but that will not happen in the short term. I'm working with a local copy of the (classic ASP 3.0) site, and need to publish individual files to a web folder on our dev server whenever I check in a file so that the changes can be seen by other interested parties without having to publish from VSS. Does anyone know of a convenient way to add a post-commit script with VSS? It's acceptable for this script to run on my dev box (as opposed to the server), considering that VSS has no server to execute such actions.

    I realise that there are many older questions addressing the general question of NUnit v MSTest for versions of Visual Studio up to 2008 (such as this one). Microsoft have a history of getting things right in their 3rd version. For MSTest, that is VS2010. Have they done so with MSTest? Would you use it in a new project in preference to NUnit? My specific concerns: speed running tests within CruiseControl.NET (either commandline or MSBuild task) code coverage reports from CC.NET can you run MSTest tests in debug mode (We use ReSharper, so test-runners are not an issue for us. We have used NUnit for the last few years. We do not have TFS.)

  • ObjectContext.SaveChanges() fails with SQL CE

    I am creating a model-first Entity Framework 4 app that uses SQL CE as its data store. All is well until I call ObjectContext.SaveChanges() to save changes to the entities in the model. At that point, SaveChanges() throws a System.Data.UpdateException, with an inner exception message that reads as follows: Server-generated keys and server-generated values are not supported by SQL Server Compact. I am completely puzzled by this message. Any idea what is going on and how to fix it? Thanks.     The Socket class has a method .AcceptAsync which either returns true or false.     I know how to get the parameters from the command line. I also know how to print them out. The problem I'm having is how to compare the parameters from the argv[] array to a string. The progam runs but never returns a result where the parameter string is equal to the one I'm looking for.   • Linq to sql DataContext cannot set load options after results been returned

    I have two tables A and B with a one-to-many relationship respectively. On some pages I would like to get a list of A objects only. On other pages I would like to load A with objects in B attached. This can be handled by setting the load options DataLoadOptions options = new DataLoadOptions(); options.LoadWith<A>(a => a.B); dataContext.LoadOptions = options; The trouble occurs when I first of all view all A's with load options, then go to edit a single A (do not use load options), and after edit return to the previous page. I understand why the error is occurring but not sure how to best get round this problem. I would like the DataContext to be loaded up per request. I thought I was achieving this by using StructureMap to load up my DataContext on a per request basis. This is all part of an n-tier application where my Controllers call Services which in turn call Repositories. ForRequestedType<MyDataContext>() .CacheBy(InstanceScope.PerRequest) .TheDefault.Is.Object(new MyDataContext()); ForRequestedType<IAService>() .TheDefault.Is.OfConcreteType<AService>(); ForRequestedType<IARepository>() .TheDefault.Is.OfConcreteType<ARepository>(); Here is a brief outline of my Repository public class ARepository : IARepository { private MyDataContext db; public ARepository(MyDataContext context) { db = context; } public void SetLoadOptions(DataLoadOptions options) { db.LoadOptions = options; } public IQueryable<A> Get() { return from a in db.A select a; } So my ServiceLayer, on View All, sets the load options and then gets all A's. On editing A my ServiceLayer should spin up a new DataContext and just fetch a list of A's. When sql profiling, I can see that when I go to the Edit page it is requesting A with B objects.

  • php curly braces groups

    is there a function or regex or anything to group items by a { and } tag? so it should group items by the opening tag { and the closing tag }. but be careful, there are also groups inside parent groups like so: group { text1 group2 { text2 } } so basically think of it like php, you make an opening tag, you need to close it with a closing tag, curly braces in php's case. i just need it to like substr() each group into an associative array somehow, except I cant figure it out with the whole, "group inside a parent group".
