• Can AutoIt scripts run as a scheduled task while not logged in?

  I am using Ruby/WATIR/AutoIt to automate a task via Task Scheduler which runs fine as long as I am logged in, but as soon as my account is locked (mandated 10 minute screen lock) or I logout the script stops functioning. When I log back in, it is sitting at the part where AutoIt is supposed to handle a file download dialogue by clicking save and then entering the filename and clicking to save again. The follwing is the code that works while I am logged in. Is AutoIt supposed to work when I am not logged in, and is there some other way to accomplish this? • Rails PDF Generation with Prawn in IE7

  I'm using Prawn and Prawnto to generate a PDF in a Ruby on Rails app (Rails version 2.2.2) which works great and generates PDFs happily and sends them to the user to download in Firefox. The problem is in IE7. I have a route set up like so: map.invoice_pdf '/invoices.pdf', :controller => 'invoices', :action => 'index', :format => 'pdf' Which I then have a link like so to call: invoice_pdf_path(:year => params[:year], :month => params[:month], :unpaid_only => params[:unpaid_only]) And the following in my controller: def index params[:year] = default params[:year] params[:month] = default params[:month] params[:page] ||= 1 @invoices = Arobl.find_invoices_for_customer(current_customer.strCustomerID, params) respond_to do |format| format.html{ render :action => 'index' } format.pdf{ prawnto :inline => false, :filename => "#{current_customer.strCustomerID}_invoice.pdf" end In FF this works as expected, when the link is clicked the show action is invoked with a format of .pdf, and responds with the correctly named PDF. When it's hit with IE7 it says that the file or website could not be found, and references "invoices.pdf" instead of the expected customer_id_invoice.pdf filename. Any idea what could be causing this behaviour? Thanks!

  I am using csv.DictWriter to output csv files from a set of dictionaries. I use the following function: def dictlist2file(dictrows, filename, fieldnames, delimiter='\t', lineterminator='\n'): out_f = open(filename, 'w') # Write out header header = delimiter.join(fieldnames) + lineterminator out_f.write(header) # Write out dictionary data = csv.DictWriter(out_f, fieldnames, delimiter=delimiter, lineterminator=lineterminator) data.writerows(dictrows) out_f.close() where dictrows is a list of dictionaries, and fieldnames provides the headers that should be serialized to file. Some of the values in my dictionary list (dictrows) are numeric -- e.g. floats, and I'd like to specify the formatting of these. For example, I might want floats to be serialized with "%.2f" rather than full precision. Ideally, I'd like to specify some kind of mapping that says how to format each type, e.g. {float: "%.2f"} that says that if you see a float, format it with %.2f. Is there an easy way to do this? I don't want to subclass DictWriter or anything complicated like that -- this seems like very generic functionality. How can this be done? The only other solution I can think of is: instead of messing with the formatting of DictWriter, just use the decimal package to specify the decimal precision of floats to be %.2 which will cause to be serialized as such. Don't know if this is a better solution? thanks very much for your help.

  I am using scala 2.7.7, and wanted to parse CSV file and store the data in SQLite database. I ended up using OpenCSV java library to parse the CSV file, and using sqlitejdbc library.   For TDD you have to Create a test that fail Do the simplest thing that could possible work to pass the test Add more variants of the test and repeat Refactor when a pattern emerge With this approach you're supposing to cover all the cases ( that comes to my mind at least) but I'm wonder if am I being too strict here and if it is possible to "think ahead" some scenarios instead of simple discover them.   Hi, I'm trying to convert pdf files to images. ImageMagick is a great tool, and using the command line tool gets me desired result. but i need to do this in my code, So added a reference to http://imagemagick.codeplex.com/ And the following code sample renders each page of the pdf as an image: MagickNet.InitializeMagick(); using (ImageList im = new ImageList()) { im.ReadImages(@"E:\Test\" + fileName + ".pdf"); int count = 0; foreach (Image image in im) { image.Quality = 100; image.CompressType = mageMagickNET.CompressionType.LosslessJPEGCompression; image.Write(@"E:\Test\" + fileName + "-" + count.ToString() + ".jpg"); ++count; } } The problem: IT LOOKS LIKE CRAP the rendered image is hardly readable. the problem i realized is it uses the default 72 DPI of ImageMagick. and i can't find a way to set it(96dpi or 120dpi gives good results) via the .Net wrapper. Am I missing something , or there is really no way to set it via this wrapper? Thanks

We are talking videos from 1Mb to 100Mb hence the streaming approach. So far so good. Now i make a reference to it and will pass it a FileStream, but the argument is now a byte[] - why is that and how do i get it the proper way for streaming?   Hi, Im loading an image from a SQL CE db and then trying to load that into a PictureBox. I load the image back like so: using (FileStream fs = new FileStream(@"C:\Temp\img.jpg", FileMode.CreateNew ,FileAccess.Write )) { byte[] img = (byte[])encoding.GetBytes(ThisFilm.Artwork.ToString()); fs.Write(img, 0, img.Length); } but am getting an OutOfMemoryException. I have read that this is a slight red herring and that there is probably something wrong with the filetype, but i cant figure what. Any ideas?   I'm running some tests using Robotium on an Android application that interacts with a web-portal. I'd like to save some information to file; for example I need to save the id of the username I created from the app and I want to make it read from Selenium to run tests on web-portal to verify a webpage for that user has been created. Is it possible? Could someone suggest me a solution or a work-around? • AVAudioPlayer making noise when playing multiple sounds at the same time

  I am having an issue where AVAudioPlayer is introducing noise into playback ONLY when I play multiple sound files at the same time. If I play them each individually, they all sound perfect. But, if I play sound clip B while sound clip A is still playing, the speakers start crackling like there is noise. I have tried both m4a files AND caf files and both make the same noise, so it has to be something with how I am implementing this method or a quirk with AVAudioPlayer. • AVAudioPlayer only initializes with some files

  Hi everyone, I'm having trouble playing some files with AVAudioPlayer. When I try to play a certain m4a, it works fine. It also works with an mp3 that I try. However it fails on one particular mp3 every time (15 Step, by Radiohead), regardless of the order in which I try to play them. The audio just does not play, though the view loading and everything that happens concurrently happens correctly. The code is below. I get the "Player loaded." log output on the other two songs, but not on 15 Step. I know the file path is correct (I have it log outputted earlier in the app, and it is correct). Any ideas? • Starting CLI application programmatically does not work depending on arguments

  I try to start plink.exe (PuTTY Link, the command line utility/version of PuTTY) from a C# application to establish an SSH reverse tunnel, but it does no longer work as soon as I pass the correct parameters. What does that mean? The following works as expected: it opens a command line window, displays that I forgot to pass the password for the -pw argument quits, and shows the prompt. I know it got the arguments, since it specifically requests the one thing I did not provide. Is there a way plink.exe notices it's not running in a real shell? If yes, how can I circumvent it, like the Start Menu "prompt" does? I hope this question is right on SO, since it, though specifically for a single application, revolves around launching it successfully programmatically.
