  I'm amazed at Transmission, a BT client. It has a Mac, a GTK+, a QT, a Web Client and a CLI interface to it. I tried reading some of it's source to understand how he creates all these interfaces, but no luck. Does the developer creates them using a single ide? Or does he create the interface logic in each specific environment (specially mac), "exports" this window code and integrates with the main logic? Is it possible to create that mac interface in another OS using an IDE? How did the developers create this software with so many interfaces, in a independent way?

• jQuery fade in background colour

  Hi, I'm trying to fade in the background colour of a table row, and can't get it right. The fade-in will happen when a button is clicked. I tried something like: $("#row_2").fadeIn('slow').css('background', 'gold') And although this will apply the colour to the table row, it won't fade in, but apply it at once. I'm sure this is a simple thing, but I can't find an answer to that. I've looked all over in this website, but still no luck for this specific thing. Thanks in advance

• Retrieving values from Env in mod_esi or webtools

  A complete noob question, but how exactly do I get values (e.g. path_info) from inside the callback? From the docs, I thought it was a list of tuples, which I thought would make it accessible via lists:keyfind, but I've had no luck. So far, all the examples I've found only show how to print everything with io_lib but not how to access the values by key... • F12 no longer works in Visual Studio

  this is driving me crazy, ever since I installed ReSharper 4, F12 no longer seems to work. If you look at the all the ReSharper short cuts in the Goto sub menu Declaration doesn't have any assigned! The only way I can go to declaration is by using ALT and ` and then selecting Declaration. I have tried un-installing and re-installing ReSharper with no luck, I have also, in ReSharper option asked it to use the default Visual Studio Key Bindings but that doesn't to work either. Interestingly, when I do use ALT and ` I actually get two entries for the Declaration option. Has anyone come across this problem I am using Visual Studio 2005 SP1

• Using jQuery to auto-populate a form field from another form field

  Has anyone used jquery to take data from one form field and put it into another? I'm trying to create a form that when one text input is filled out a second is auto-populated with the first letter of the word that is in the first text input. I'm thinking I can limit the second text input to one character to help get the desired result, but I'm not having luck getting jquery to get the second text input and auto-populate once the first is entered.   I'm using OpenGL to render a game view in my android application. The game is turn based and I wish to add some buttons to the interface. I'd prefer to use standard Android widgets, structured in an XML-generated layout (or, if I have to, a hardcoded layout) and put the OpenGL view in its own window as part of that layout. So in regards to this, I have 3 questions: 1: Is such a thing possible? I've done a few half-hearted tries, but have had no luck so far. 2: Is such a thing advisable? Does it carry a significant performance penalty, for example, over using OpenGL-based homebrew widgetry? 3: Is it possible to pass particular arguments to instances created in XML layouts? For example, my current OpenGL view has three arguments in its constructor; is it somehow possible for me to invoke that particular constructor with particular parameters when it's part of a layout?

• How can I get my div id to reload via ajax and jquery

  I'm creating a CMS using jQuery and AJAX. When I click, my "Add Campaign" buttom, it creates a unique client ID in the DB and on a hard reload, the new client shows up in its container. I am trying to use ajax to reload the container on the fly and I'm not having the exact luck i am hoping for. • Sqlite + Java: table not updating

  I'm using a Java wrapper for SQLite called SQLiteJDBC - this may have some bearing on any answers... I have a table which I've displayed in a GUI, within that UI I have a button for the fields for an individual row of that table. When I save my changes I do this... Statement stmt = connection.createStatement(); stmt.execute("update 'tableName' set 'fieldName'=1 where userid=1"); int updateCount = stmt.getUpdateCount(); My connection is valid, I get no exceptions thrown and getUpdateCount() returns '1' indicating that one row has been updated. However my table is not updated. I've spent the last few hours trying to work out what's going on but I'm not having any luck. Help!!

  I have a column in a SQL Server 2005 table defined as an XML column. Is there a way to select records from this table based on the order of two nodes in that column? For example, we have the following structure in our XML: <item> <latitude/> <longitude/> </item> I want to see if there are any records that have latitude/longitude in the opposite order i.e. <longitude/> then <latitude/>. I've tried some XPath expressions but with no luck.

• Scala Eclipse IDE suddenly ignoring breakpoints

  I've been using Scala 2.8RC1 and Scala Eclipse plugin for 2.8 RC1 happily for a few days. However, last night after adding a couple jar files to my environment (apache http client jars) the debugger just stopped stopping at breakpoints in scala code. Java code stops fine at breakpoints. I tried creating a new mimimal scala app breakpoints don't stop. I've tried switching to sun-jre-1.6.0.20 from the openjdk-1.6.18 I had been using. I've switched to the scala 2.8 nightly and also eclipse plugin for scala nightly builds. No luck. I would greatly appreciate ideas for fixes. Rather frustrating as the initial experience with 2.8 was really great.

• Retractable button bar using animations

  I want to create a button bar that is retractable: when the user clicks on a special "handle" button, the button bar should slide out of view partially so only the handle remains visible. When the bar is in retracted state only the handle is visible. Clicking on the handle should "slide out" the button bar so it is completely visible again. Ideally, the bar would start out in retracted state. I have tried some approaches using TranslateAnimation, including using a layout animation or calling "View.startAnimation" when the handle is clicked, but no luck so far. Do you guys have any tips how to approach this? Is there any decent documentation out there regarding Android animations? The documentation I find is sketchy at best. For instance, I found examples that cause a view to slide into view automatically using TranslateAnimation and a LayoutAnimationController when calling "addView", but when I call removeView no animation seems to be triggered at all, even if I set an animation that should create the opposite motion.

• Correct association mapping in Entity Framework

  Hi, Trying to change two relationships in our entity framework from many-to-one to many-to-many relationships. So I tried the obvious thing: clicked on each association on the diagram, changed the appropriate end of the association accordingly and then changed the name of the navigation property to a plural to reflect the change. This lead to the following build error, or one each for the two changes I've made: Error 3002: Problem in mapping fragments starting at line 1761:Potential runtime violation of table CustomerServices's keys (CustomerServices.Id): Columns (CustomerServices.Id) are mapped to EntitySet CompiledDatabaseCustomerService's properties (CompiledDatabaseCustomerService.CustomerService.Id) on the conceptual side but they do not form the EntitySet's key properties (CompiledDatabaseCustomerService.CompiledDatabase.Id, CompiledDatabaseCustomerService.CustomerService.Id) I'm not entirely sure why this is happening, so unsurprisngly I haven't had much luck fixing it. I've tried fiddling with the mapping details and adding referential constraints to no avail. Anyone point me in the right direction? cheers, Matt

• jCarousel Lite - center images horizontally and vertically

  I have jCarousel Lite going in Drupal with images of various sizes/aspect ratios. I'm not having much luck trying to center the images vertically and horizontally (i.e. evenly-spaced). The plugin requires that the images be in a <ul><li><img ... /></li></ul>. I've tried display:inline-block, marginTop:50% among other things, most of which just screw up the carousel.   Hi, I have various different content types and I want to filter by using views. So say a block only displays content posted in groups that you are a member of. I've created my generic view which so far displays all content of that type, but I'm struggling with linking this to content only posted in groups your a member of. I've looked at the Organic Groups filters but no luck there. I suspect I might need to use some sort of relationship but I'm stuck there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  i've seem this post about extracting a zip without a temporary file via stream and pipes: Open a file from archive without temporary extraction The problem is that i'm using php and have no idea if that is possible. I've search a lot with no luck. My idea is to preview zip files from the dropbox using its API but i dont want to save the files to a local drive, just preview the content. Any idea if that's possible with php? Almost everything i found is about creating the file, not reading it... :-\ I was thinking that i might try with nodejs, but i know mostly nothing about nodejs, do you think it would support it? • TeamCity's build agent unable to find PowerShell

  I have TC's build agent installed on Windows 2008 R2 SP1 Core. The server has PowerShell 2.0 installed (double checked, and actually from PS downloaded the TC installation). Looking at some build configuration I see these being incompatible with this agent, because powershell_x86/powershell_x64 is required. I tried deleting build agents dirs to force upgrade, but no luck. Interestingly if I provide powershell_x86, powershell_x86_Path (and for 64bit) variables into config file manually, everything runs fine. Is there anything I can do to have the build agent find PowerShell automatically? What/where is it looking for it? Maybe the 'Core' is problem.

  I've seen in WPF where you can bind control values to properties of other controls. How is that binding accomplished in C++? For example, if I have a class called Car and a guage control called RPM, how do I tie the value of RPM to the member variable Car.RPM, so that when Car.RPM changes, it is automatically (as in without a specific update call coded by me) reflected by the RPM control? General answers or directions to pertinent resources would be fine also, as I'm just beginning to dabble in C++ and haven't had much Google luck with this particular question.

• Is MDI Form focused?

  I've had so much luck developing my application... until now. My application's main form is a MDI parent, and I didn't think of adding any MDI children in my tests until tonight. To my surprise, the MDI parent seems to never "get focus" now. The Focus event and the OnFocus method are never called! I mean... it appears focused but none of the in-code focusing events/methods work. Instead a MDI child reports the focus. How do I fix this?

  Hi, I have a variable, $var, that contains a string of characters, this is a dynamic variable that contains the values from inputs. $var could be 'abc', or $var could be 'blu', I want to match the string inside variable against an array, and return all the matches. $array = array("blue", "red", "green"); What is the correct syntax for writing the code in php, my rough code is below $match = preg_grep($var, $array); (incorrect syntax of course) I tried to put quotes and escape slashes, but so far no luck. Any suggestion? TIA

• Visual Studio 2005 and SQL Express 2008

  Hi all, We are having some issues applying the patch for VS 2005 standard: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=e1109aef-1aa2-408d-aa0f-9df094f993bf&displaylang=en This works fine in profesional edition, but not a machine running standard. We have checked it has all the pre-resequites but no luck at all. The error is saying the patch cannot be applied because another patch is missing, but again, we have checked and checked and checked. Now, the KB article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/954961 Says Pro and Team editions, no mention of Standard. Judging by how simple it has been to apply this patch to VS 05 pro, and this KB article, we are starting to come to the conlcusion that it is the version. Anyone had this issue? Try as we might we cant find any work around

If anyone comes here looking for the same thing to be answered... print_r(preg_split('/([\!|\?|\.|\!\?])/', $string, null, PREG_SPLIT_DELIM_CAPTURE)); Is there any way to split a string on a set of delimiters, and retain the position and character(s) of the delimiter after the split? For example, using delimiters of ! ? . !? turning this: $string = 'Hello. A question? How strange! Maybe even surreal!? Who knows.'; into this array('Hello', '.', 'A question', '?', 'How strange', '!', 'Maybe even surreal', '!?', 'Who knows', '.'); Currently I'm trying to use print_r(preg_split('/([\!|\?|\.|\!\?])/', $string)); to capture the delimiters as a subpattern, but I'm not having much luck.
