• Modify Hyperlinkfield text in Gridview

  I am stumped on this one. I want to modify the text in a Hyperlinkfield of Gridview after the data is bound to it. I found similar code to this on msdn and I can't get it to work. protected void GridView1_RowDataBound(object sender, GridViewRowEventArgs e) { e.Row.Cells[2].Text = e.Row.Cells[2].Text + "random text"; } I also tried similar code in the Page_PreRender event with no luck. I have also tried calling DataBind() before this one line of code with no help. I always just get "random text" in the cell without the data from the DB. Thanks

• Grails multi column indexes

  Can someone explain how to define multi column indexes in Grails? The documentation is at best sparse. This for example does not seem to work at all: http://grails.org/GORM+Index+definitions I've had some luck with this, but the results seems random at best. • Picking Random Names

  I saw an interesting post sometime back but with no solution. Trying luck here: There is a table which contain 10 names (U1, U2, U3..and so on). I have to choose 5 names everyday, and display one as the Editor and 4 as Contributors While selecting the random names, I have to also consider that if one user is selected as Editor, he cannot become editor again till everyone got their chance. The output should look similar to the following: Editor Cont1 Cont2 Cont3 Cont4 20-Jun U1 U8 U9 U3 U4 21-Jun U7 U2 U5 U6 U10 22-Jun U3 U4 U9 U2 U8 23-Jun U4 U8 U3 U5 U2 and so on..

• SSL certificate error with Weblogic in Internet Explorer

  I have a Weblogic server installed and a site. The SSL port is 7002 When I try to access a secure page ex https://localhost:7002/site in Internet Explorer I get a certificate error. Clicking the continue to website does not do anything. In chrome, I get the opton to "Ignore Anyway" and I can continue to see the page. But in Internet explorer I having no such luck. Not sure what I am doing wrong. I am using the default certificates that come wih weblogic installation. I have not generated any private keys or certificates. Any help appreciated.

• DotNetOpenAuth for previously authorized site

  I've had great luck with DotNetOpenAuth to do 3 legged authorization. Currently, I am connecting and pulling in some Google data. My question is that apparently, if you have already auth'd my web application to your Google account, when I call var accessTokenResponse = google.ProcessUserAuthorization(); It basically does nothing. How do I get the token for an account that has already auth'd my application? I see no callback of any kind. I'm chocking this up to my ignorance about OAuth in general.

I even tried with but with no luck. I am using C#3.0. Need help

• NSUserDefaults and default language used for I18N

  I have searched around a lot for this and found some answers that sounded quite like what I wanted but never worked. I simply need to have my iPhone app load NIBs and Localizable.strings that I decide (through user selection) rather than the ones that are established through the global iPhone/iPad settings. General consensus seems to be that this line [[NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults] setObject:[NSArray arrayWithObject:@"ro"] forKey:@"AppleLanguages"]; would do the trick (in this specific case, load the NIBs and Localizable.strings in ro.lproj) but I have not had such luck. It keeps on looking for the files in en.lproj or whatever language I chose in the Settings app. I have then tried adding this line [[NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults] setObject:[NSArray arrayWithObject:@"ro_RO"] forKey:@"AppleLocale"]; and to my great surprise, it worked! ...only once :-( then back to the same issue. Has anyone got any idea how to solve this issue? The aforementioned code was added at the very start of applicationDidFinishLaunching, which is before any NIBs or strings files should be loaded.

  How can I insert arabic characters into sql database? I tried to insert arabic data into a table and the arabic characters in the insert script were inserted as '??????' in the table. I tried to directly paste the data into the table through sql management studio and the arabic characters was successfully and accurately inserted. I looked around for resolutions for this problems and some threads suggested changing the datatype to nvarchar instead of varchar. I tried this as well but without any luck. How can we insert arabic characters into sql database?

  My DB has four fields, date:date, morning:integer, afternoon:integer, evening:integer. Google charts needs the data split into one array per dataset (example below). What's the best way to do this? • How to make a mutable ItemizedOverlay

  Hey all, I would like to make a Google map overlay with changable pins. An easy way to visualize this would be to think of a near real time overlay, where the pins are constantly changing location. However, I can't seem to think of a safe way to do this with the ItemizedOverlay. The problem seems to be the call to populate - If size() is called by some maps thread, and then my data changes, then the result when the maps call accesses getItem() can be an IndexOutOfBoundsException. Can anyone think of a better solution than overloading populate and wrapping super.populate in a synchronized block? Perhaps I could get better luck using a normal Overlay? The Itemized one seems to exist to manage the data for you, perhaps I am making a fundamental mistake by using it? Thanks for any help, my brain is hurting! Hamy

• Moving and resizing JPanels object inside JFrame.

  Continuing my quest of learning Java by doing a simple game, i stumbled upon a little issue. My gameboard extends JPanel as well as each piece of the board. Now, this presents some problems: Cant set size of each piece, therefore, each piece JPanel ocupy the whole JFrame, concealing the rest of the pieces and the background (gameboard). Cant set the position of the pieces. I have the default flow manager. Tried setbounds and no luck. Perhaps i should make the piece to extend other JComponent?

• Mobile Safari Youtube opened via javascript

  We have a youtube player embedded in a plage in Mobile Safari and it works great. But we need to be able to launch the youtube player by a means other than user tapping the video itself, for various reasons. So I am trying to figure out what event to trigger in javascript to make it happen with no luck. None of the following appear to work. var vid = document.getElementById('vid'); vid.click(); vid.onclick(); vid.ontouchend(); vid.ontouchstart(); vid.focus(); I tried to find an event handler added to the embedded object with this snippet, but didn't find anything. for (var key in vid) { if (typeof vid[key] == 'function') console.log(key +': '+ vid[key]); } Is this just so wrapped up in a custom plugin there is no way?

• How to load a NIB inside of a view in another NIB?

  I have two NIB's ParentViewController.xib ChildViewController.xib ParentViewController.xib contains a UIView and a UIViewController. ChildViewController.xib contains a UIButton I want ChildViewController.xib to load in the ParentViewController.xib's UIView I have done the following: Created @property for UIView in ParentViewController Connected File's Owner to UIView in ParentViewController Set UIViewController in ParentViewController's NIB Name property to ChildViewController in Interface Builder Set ChildViewController view property to UIView in ParentViewController I was hoping this would load ChildViewController into my UIView in ParentViewController but no luck. I did get the following warning, which could be the culprit: 'View Controller (Child View)' has both its 'NIB Name' property set and its 'view' outlet connected. This configuration is not supported. I also have added additional code in ParentViewController's viewDidLoad(): - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; ChildViewController *childViewController = [[ChildViewController alloc]initWithNibName:@"ChildViewController" bundle:nil]; childViewController.view = self.myView; } Any thoughts on why ChildViewController does not load in the UIView of ParentViewController?

• Site images don't refresh after setting expired headers on .htaccess

  I have a site that uses a CSS sprite for all the images. I set the .htaccess file to set the expired headers to a future time as they recommend to improve site performance. However, when I updated the sprite image none of my browsers on two different computers seem to fetch the new image. I deleted the .htaccess serveral times but no luck. I am sure this must be easy as pie to fix but right now I am out of options. • Should app using VCL migrate?

  Is VCL dead, or does it have a future as a GUI library? As CLX ended, is there any chance for cross-platform support in future releases? I've had to do some work with legacy app that uses Borland's VCL(BCB6). Now that new features have to be implemented, it's necessary to revalue alternatives. Whether to stick with VCL or migrate to some other library/framework. I've never read much what's happening in the field Embarcadero(Borland) tools. At least there seems to be only few VCL tagged questions here in SO and no much luck with google either.

• Urban Airship - not receving push notifications on device?

  Hey guys just installed everything to my app tried to push but no messages appear the token for my device is saved so thats working, when i push the website says it sent but no message on device. Right now im using production certificate for push notification with a developer pervision and not the distrubution certificate. I tried cleaning the build and reinstalling but no luck since an extra app was installed from the same one. I used the code that is on the sample file tutorial i think thats all the detail dont know what to do next.

• C# : What if a static method is called from multiple threads?

  In my Application I have a static method that is called from multiple threads at the same time. Is there any danger of my data being mixed up? In my first attempt the method was not static and I was creating multiple instance of the class. In that case my data got mixed up somehow. I am not sure how this happens because it only happens sometimes. I am still debugging. But now the method is static on I have no problems so far. Maybe it's just luck. I don't know for sure.

• htaccess: only do [some lines of code] for one domain, no others.

  Say I have a htaccess file shared by "dev.server" and "server.site.com". The first domain should allow all users to access it unchallenged (it only exists on my local development server). The second domain I want to authenticate users with Apache (NOT by database). The code to authenticate users is: AuthType Basic AuthName "Server Admin" AuthUserFile "/path/to/passwd" require valid-user What I can't do is make those 4 lines only matter if the domain is "server.site.com". How can I do this? I searched for something like <IfEnv HTTP_HOST "site.server.com"> but had no luck.

Reading books is time consuming so I am looking to shortcut this a bit and go back to the book later. What I lack is a good introductory tutorial. Kind of like, hands on, this is what you need to get started in Erlang, these are best practices, this is how you organize code and this is how you do a small project. I am on Windows, and I have tried system("C:\\Program Files (x86)\\PHP\\php.exe -l \"C:/Program Files (x86)/Apache/htdocs/a.php\"", $output); var_dump($output); without luck. The parameter -l should check for correct PHP syntax, and throw errors if some problems exist. • Capture KeyUp event on form when child control has focus

  I need to capture the KeyUp event in my form (to toggle a "full screen mode"). In that case, I don't get the event at all (also tried OnKeyDown - no luck there either). I could handle the KeyUp event from the child control, but the controls on the form are generated dynamically, and there may be many of them - each having many children of their own. Is there any way to do this without generating event handlers for every control on the screen (which I certainly could do with a recursive function)?

• Cannot figure out how to get rid of memory leak

  I'm trying to test for memory leaks in my iphone and I'm not having much luck getting rid of this one. The self.settingManager instance variable is released in the dealloc method of the class. I'm not sure what other information would be pertinent. Please let me know and I can provide it.   Hi, im using symfony with doctrine, and Im trying to generate the schema yml file from a db. I get an this error SQLSTATE[42000]: Syntax error or access violation: 1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'group' at line 1. Failing Query: "DESCRIBE group"I have a table named group in my database, and I suspect that this is screwing it up. Its not access problems as ive checked my db previleges. Any suggestions on what I can do? I have tried the quote-identifier attribute but with no luck : ( Im also struggling to find some good doctrine documentation. i cant seem to find where a list of attributes are, say for a creating a column in the schema.yml file. I tried reaching out to symfony forums but they are not responsive! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks..
