  • Does MS Access 2010 have Tif image control display issue?

    - by ChuckB
We run MS Access as the front end for most of our business. When we upgraded from Access 2000 to Access 2003 the image control we used to print out Tif images failed to load Tifs anymore. A bit of Googling showed that MS did this intentionally and I'm wondering if the problem still happens in Access 2010. Can someone with a downloaded copy drop an image control on an Access 2010 form or report and try to get it to display a Tif file?

  • TThread.resume is deprecated in Delphi-2010 what should be used in place?

    - by Charles Faiga
In my multithread application I use TThread.suspend and TThread.resume Since moving my application to Delphi 2010 I get the following warring message [DCC Warning] xxx.pas(277): W1000 Symbol ‘Resume’ is deprecated If Resume is deprecated what should be used in place? EDIT 1: I use the Resume command to start the thread - as it is Created with 'CreateSuspended' set to True and Suspend before I terminate the thread. EDIT 2: Here is a link the delphi 2010 manual

  • How can I get Silverlight 4 Tools to work in Web Developer 2010 Express?

    - by Edward Tanguay
I installed Windows 7. I then installed Web Developer 2010 Express from here with the Web Platform Installer. I then installed the the April 15 release of Silverlight Toolkit from here. I then added this reference: Then in my XAML, I reference it like this but it gives me no intellisense and tells me that I am missing an assembly reference: What do I have to do to use the Silverlight 4 Toolkit in Web Developer 2010 Express?

  • Can I use CodeRush Xpress in Visual Studio 2010?

    - by Tomas Lycken
I've installed the Beta 1 of Visual Studio 2010, and started working a little. Even though I haven't been using CodeRush Xpress for long in Visual Studio 2008, I immediately started missing some of the neat functionality. Is there any way to install CodeRush Xpress on Visual Studio 2010, even though it's only the Beta yet?

  • No IntelliSense for c++/cli in visual studio 2010?

    - by Sam
I just moved from Visual Studio 2008 to 2010, and noticed one major flaw: When I try to use AutoComplete in a C++ Source file for managed c++, a small note in the footer appers: intellisense for c++/cli not available Uh, has IntelliSense for c++/cli been dropped from Visual Studio 2010? Is there any way to get this back? It is rather useful...

  • How do I set Environment Variables in Visual Studio 2010?

    - by xarzu
How do I set Environment Variables in Visual Studio 2010? I found this web page: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee479070.aspx Which says: From the Project menu, choose Properties. In the left pane, select Configuration Properties, and then select Environment. But when I select "Configuration Properties", there is no "Enviroment" option: http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h292/Athono/microsoft/newstuff.jpg This is an example in VS 2008: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b279/GrunchCan/env.jpg But how is it done in VS 2010?

  • Why would Visual Studio 2010 say it can't show a variable during debug?

    - by Edward Tanguay
In Visual Studio 2010 sometimes when I want to get the value of a variable while debugging, it tells me that it "does not exist in this context" when it obviously does. I have found that if I use the variable, as in the screenshot below, then it is able to show it. Has anyone experienced this? Visual Studio 2008 never did this. How can I get Visual Studio 2010 to always show me variable values while debugging?

  • Did Visual Studio 2010 break "Project Dependencies" between C++ projects?

    - by Roger Lipscombe
In Visual Studio 2008, if I had a solution containing multiple C++ projects, I could make them depend on each-other and correctly link by using the "Project Dependencies" option. This fixed up the build order and also made (e.g.) the main application project link against the static library outputs. In Visual Studio 2010, this doesn't seem to work. Did Visual Studio 2010 change the way this works?

  • Can I use Visual Studio 2010 and not upgrade to .NET Framework 4.0?

    - by Ben Mills
I have many Visual Studio 2008 web projects targeted at the .NET Framework 3.5. I want to start using Visual Studio 2010, but the .NET Framework 4.0 isn't very well supported by web hosting companies just yet. It seems to make sense to stick with the .NET Framework 3.5 for now. If I open my projects in Visual Studio 2010 and leave them targeted at the .NET Framework 3.5, am I going to have problems?

  • Getting office 2007 to work through wine - with Hebrew

    - by Tal Galili
I tried to have office 2007 installed using playonlinux. It went well, except that when I try to change my keyboard to Hebrew and start writing - the software immediately crashes. I checked it with powerpoint, were it doesn't crash but any Hebrew text is changed into "[][][][]" signs. How might I resolve this? Thanks. Update: I was able to get the program to stop crashing by running "export LANG=he_IL.UTF-8 " However, now the text in hebrew is upside down. (e.g: ???? ?? will look like ??????)

  • Any way to move Office Starter To-Go to a non-flash drive?

    - by Scott Bussinger
Microsoft's Office Starter edition has an interesting option to create a portable version on a USB flash drive using the "Microsoft Office Starter To-Go Device Manager". This creates a portable version of the Word and Excel starter editions (limited versions of the normal applications that include ads). This would be great for use in Virtual Machines since it requires no registration and has a perpetual license. But I want to copy the files off of the flash drive and just store them in the VHD. The problem is that it appears when you try to run the office.exe executable from anywhere but the USB drive you get the error "Microsoft Office Starter To-Go cannot be launched because it is installed on an unsupported device." Any ideas what it is objecting to and is there a legal workaround for this? A limited but legal and portable version of Word and Excel is a great idea. But tying it specifically to a USB flash drive seems a bit odd. They don't seem to care how many of those flash drives you create so it's not clear what the restrictions are about.

  • Microsoft DevDays 2010 Day 2

I delivered a session today that describes what's new in Office 2010 for solution developers. It's a session that I have evolved over the past year. My core demos have also evolved, and I'm pleased with the impact they make. The session was well attended, and I was pleased to see plenty of enthusiasm for Microsoft Office solutions from the good folks in the Netherlands. My demo image is still based on Office 2010 Beta 2, and that's something I'm already in the process of changing. I'm moving to RC...Did you know that DotNetSlackers also publishes .net articles written by top known .net Authors? We already have over 80 articles in several categories including Silverlight. Take a look: here.
