  • DataGridView row added event

    Hi all, I'm using a DataGridView and I bind a List to the DataSource. I already have the right columns and I map exactly the fields. What I'm trying to do is handling a sort of RowAdded or RowDataBound (like in aspx GridView) event. The only event that I found is RowsAdded but no matter how many items I have, it is fired only 4 times the first time i bound, and twice the other times, with values e.RowCount:1 e.RowIndex:0 e.RowCount:[n-1] e.RowIndex:1 *where n is the number of my items is there a way I can get to a handle for each item?

  • Why is a DataGridView so row-centric.

    Why is there a DataGridViewRow.Cells property, but not a DataGridViewColumn.Cells property? What's so important about rows that I'll never want to iterate down a column? I'm not saying that it makes it particularly difficult to do or anything, it just strikes me as oddly asymmetrical. I'm implementing a "fill down" type behaviour, and it'd be handy is all.

    Hello, I'm looking for a way to perform clustering separately on matrix rows and than on its columns, reorder the data in the matrix to reflect the clustering and putting it all together. The clustering problem is easily solvable, so is the dendrogram creation (for example in this blog or in "Programming collective intelligence"). However, how to reorder the data remains unclear for me. Eventually, I'm looking for a way of creating graphs similar to the one below using naive Python (with any "standard" library such as numpy, matplotlib etc, but without using R or other external tools).

  • WPF Beginner - A simple XAML layout not working as expected

    Hi, I've just started learning WPF, and followed a book to make this sample calculator application in XAML. The XAML code is attached below. I don't have any UI specific code in the xaml.cs file. However, I'm seeing a difference between design time and runtime. As you can see in the attached screenshot, the upper left button of the calculator is bigger than the rest. Even more confusingly, the designer when I edit the XAML shows the button correctly. I've tried to determine why is that, and I'm stumped. Can anyone help? I'm using VS2008, targeting framework 3.5, if it's any help. Lets assume that I need the following data structure: [&ptr0]-[0][1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9] [&ptr1]-[0][1][2] [&ptr2]-[0][1][2][3][4] int main() { int *a[3]; int *b; int i; a[0] = (int *)malloc(10 * sizeof(int)); a[1] = (int *)malloc(2 * sizeof(int)); a[2] = (int *)malloc(4 * sizeof(int)); for(i=0; i<10; i++) a[0][i]=i; for(i=0; i<2; i++) a[1][i]=i; for(i=0; i<4; i++) a[2][i]=i; } I did some tests and it seems like I can store a value at a[1][3]. Does it mean that rows in my array are of equal size 10?

    I'm trying to set the size of my background to be a little shorter than the default, creating some space between the cells. This has proven to be difficult.   • Changing font size of legend title in Python pylab rose/polar plot

    I'm trying to change the font size of the title of an existing legend on a rose, or 'polar', plot. Most of the code was written by somebody else, who is away. I've added:- ax.legend(title=legend_title) setp(l.get_title(), fontsize=8) to add the title 'legend_title', which is a variable that the user enters a string for in a a different function that uses this code. The second line of this doesn't return an error but doesn't appear to do anything either. The complete code is below. 'Rose' and 'RoseAxes' are modules/functions written by somebody. Does anyone know of a way to change the legend title font size?     I have a kind of strange thing that I really nead for my text formating. Don't ask me please why I did this strange thing! ;-) So, my PHP script replaces all line foldings "\n" with one of the speacial symbol like "|". When I insert text data to database, the PHP script replaces all line foldings with the symbol "|" and when the script reads text data from the database, it replaces all special symbols "|" with line folding "\n". I want to restrict text format in the way that it will cut line foldings if there are more than 2 line foldings used in each separating texts. Here is the example of the text I want the script to format: this is text... this is text... this is text...this is text...this is text... this is text... this is text... this is text... this is text... this is text... this is text... this is text... this is text... this is text... this is text... this is text... this is text... this is text... this is text... this is text...   • How to resize a Flot graph when its containing div changes size

    I'm using the Flot graphing library jQuery plugin and I haven't found a good way to handle resizing the graph when it's containing <div> changes size (for example, due to window resizing). When handling the onresize event, I've made sure that the width and height of the containing <div>are updated to the correct size and then tried calling both setupGrid and draw on the plot object but with no effect. I've had some success with the approach of just removing and readding the containing <div> and replotting the graph in it. However, this seems to be prone to getting stuck in infinite resize event loops if I have to add other <div> elements to the document at the same time (like for tooltips for the graph) as I'm guessing those can trigger resize events as well? Is there a good way to handle it that I'm missing? (I'm also using ExplorerCanvas for IE in order to be able to use Flot, if that might have anything to do with it. I haven't really tried in any other browsers yet)

    Suppose a tree structure is implemented in SQL like this: CREATE TABLE nodes ( id INTEGER PRIMARY KEY, parent INTEGER -- references nodes(id) ); Although cycles can be created in this representation, let's assume we never let that happen. The table will only store a collection of roots (records where parent is null) and their descendants. The goal is to, given an id of a node on the table, find all nodes that are descendants of it. A is a descendant of B if either A's parent is B or A's parent is a descendant of B. Note the recursive definition.
