My drawback is it can be copied and pasted in another system very easily... I want to generate a key for the exe file and while installing the key should be used and when installation is completed ,the key should not be used again... Is this ya secured one or give me some ideas how it can be done....

    As you all know, when you build a project with an app.config file it gets copied to the bin directory and renamed $(targetFileName).config. Is it possible for it to be called something else? For example if my executable is called myApplication.exe, can I have the config file called settings.config as opposed to myApplication.exe.config? Cheers

So, if I am calling my application like this: file://c:\myapp.exe is there any way to pass it some command line arguments, like /nospashscreen=true Things I've tried: file://c:\myapp.exe?/nospashscreen=true - launches the app, but with no command line arguments :( Thanks in advance.

  • C++ DLL Export: Decorated/Mangled names

    Created basic C++ DLL and exported names using Module Definition file (MyDLL.def). After compilation I check the exported function names using dumpbin.exe I expect to see: SomeFunction but I see this instead: SomeFunction = SomeFunction@@@23mangledstuff#@@@@ Why? The exported function appears undecorated (especially compared to not using the Module Def file), but what's up with the other stuff? If I use dumpbin.exe against a DLL from any commercial application, you get the clean: SomeFunction and nothing else......

But I need that a PHP could run the application like that, then I want to know: How could I do this on a server that have exec() disabled and I can't turn it on, because I don't have privileges to do it? What I am thinking is calling the "defrag.exe /A" then analyze the output result to see whether it contains "You do not need to defragment this volume."     I'm pretty sure that a Windows service gets C:\winnt (or similar) as its working directory when installed using InstallUtil.exe. Is there any way I can access, or otherwise capture (at install time), the directory from which the service was originally installed? At the moment I'm manually entering that into the app.exe.config file, but that's horribly manual and feels like a hack. Is there a programmatic way, either at run time or install time, to determine where the service was installed from?
