  It sometimes happens to me that I forget to include a file in a changeset (i.e. a commit of a number of changed files that belong together, e.g. "Fixes bug #45") I will usually just make a second commit with the same commit message. Is there a clever and simple way to add the "latecomer" to the first commit somehow? Without svn dumping and svndumpfilter ing?

  I'd like to have a version control server (preferably SVN) accessible on the internet without having to host my own (linux) server. Setting up a home server ala DynDNS is not really an option. Can you have non-public (maybe single-user) projects on one of the OSS project hosting sites? Or are there alternatives? I had a look at Google Code. But that looked very public to me.   I tried to find out how to move my working copy. I know SVN move can be used to move files and folders inside your working copy but what about the working copy itself? I want to move it because I created a branch in a folder location that's different from my branch and had updated therefore all my .NET project references. So when I go to merge back to the mainline trunk I get a bunch of tree conflicts.

  I'm trying to set up Subversion on Ubuntu Linux. It seems to be working, except that when I made one change and tried svn status, I found about 100 files had been changed, in the .metadata directory. My ~/.subversion/config file currently contains the following line: global-ignores = *.o *.lo *.la *.al .libs *.so *.so.[0-9]* *.a *.pyc *.pyo *.rej *~ .*.swp .DS_Store What do I need to add to ignore the .metadata files? The directory under consideration is used by Eclipse for Python development using PyDev, if that matters.
