  • JqGrid addJSONData + ASP.NET 2.0 WS

    - by MilosC
    Dear community ! I am a bit lost. I' ve tried to implement a solution based on JqGrid and tried to use function as datatype. I've setted all by the book i guess, i get WS invoked and get JASON back, I got succes on clientside in ajaf call and i "bind" jqGrid using addJSONData but grid remains empty. I do not have any glue now... other "local" samples on same pages works without a problem (jsonstring ...) My WS method looks like : [WebMethod] [ScriptMethod(ResponseFormat = ResponseFormat.Json)] public string GetGridData() { // Load a list InitSessionVariables(); SA.DB.DenarnaEnota.DenarnaEnotaDB db = new SAOP.SA.DB.DenarnaEnota.DenarnaEnotaDB(); DataSet ds = db.GetLookupForDenarnaEnota(SAOP.FW.DB.RecordStatus.All); // Turn into HTML friendly format GetGridData summaryList = new GetGridData(); summaryList.page = "1"; summaryList.total = "10"; summaryList.records = "160"; int i = 0; foreach (DataRow dr in ds.Tables[0].Rows) { GridRows row = new GridRows(); row.id = dr["DenarnaEnotaID"].ToString(); row.cell = "[" + "\"" + dr["DenarnaEnotaID"].ToString() + "\"" + "," + "\"" + dr["Kratica"].ToString() + "\"" + "," + "\"" + dr["Naziv"].ToString() + "\"" + "," + "\"" + dr["Sifra"].ToString() + "\"" + "]"; summaryList.rows.Add(row); } return JsonConvert.SerializeObject(summaryList); } my ASCX code is this: jQuery(document).ready(function(){ jQuery("#list").jqGrid({ datatype : function (postdata) { jQuery.ajax({ url:'../../AjaxWS/TemeljnicaEdit.asmx/GetGridData', data:'{}', dataType:'json', type: 'POST', contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", complete: function(jsondata,stat){ if(stat=="success") { var clearJson = jsondata.responseText; var thegrid = jQuery("#list")[0]; var myjsongrid = eval('('+clearJson+')'); alfs thegrid.addJSONData(myjsongrid.replace(/\\/g,'')); } } } ); }, colNames:['DenarnaEnotaID','Kratica', 'Sifra', 'Naziv'], colModel:[ {name:'DenarnaEnotaID',index:'DenarnaEnotaID', width:100}, {name:'Kratica',index:'Kratica', width:100}, {name:'Sifra',index:'Sifra', width:100}, {name:'Naziv',index:'Naziv', width:100}], rowNum:15, rowList:[15,30,100], pager: jQuery('#pager'), sortname: 'id', // loadtext:"Nalagam zapise...", // viewrecords: true, sortorder: "desc", // caption:"Vrstice", // width:"800", imgpath: "../Scripts/JGrid/themes/basic/images"}); }); from WS i GET JSON like this: {”page”:”1?,”total”:”10?,”records”:”160?,”rows”:[{"id":"18","cell":"["18","BAM","Konvertibilna marka","977"]“},{”id”:”19?,”cell”:”["19","RSD","Srbski dinar","941"]“},{”id”:”20?,”cell”:”["20","AFN","Afgani","971"]“},{”id”:”21?,”cell”:”["21","ALL","Lek","008"]“},{”id”:”22?,”cell”:”["22","DZD","Alžirski dinar","012"]“},{”id”:”23?,”cell”:”["23","AOA","Kvanza","973"]“},{”id”:”24?,”cell”:”["24","XCD","Vzhodnokaribski dolar","951"]“},{”id”:”25?,”cell”:” ……………… ["13","PLN","Poljski zlot","985"]“},{”id”:”14?,”cell”:”["14","SEK","Švedska krona","752"]“},{”id”:”15?,”cell”:”["15","SKK","Slovaška krona","703"]“},{”id”:”16?,”cell”:”["16","USD","Ameriški dolar","840"]“},{”id”:”17?,”cell”:”["17","XXX","Nobena valuta","000"]“},{”id”:”1?,”cell”:”["1","SIT","Slovenski tolar","705"]“}]} i have registered this js : clientSideScripts.RegisterClientScriptFile("prototype.js", CommonFunctions.FixupUrlWithoutSessionID("~/WebUI/Scripts/prototype-1.6.0.2.js")); clientSideScripts.RegisterClientScriptFile("jquery.js", CommonFunctions.FixupUrlWithoutSessionID("~/WebUI/Scripts/JGrid/jquery.js")); clientSideScripts.RegisterClientScriptFile("jquery.jqGrid.js", CommonFunctions.FixupUrlWithoutSessionID("~/WebUI/Scripts/JGrid/jquery.jqGrid.js")); clientSideScripts.RegisterClientScriptFile("jqModal.js", CommonFunctions.FixupUrlWithoutSessionID("~/WebUI/Scripts/JGrid/js/jqModal.js")); clientSideScripts.RegisterClientScriptFile("jqDnR.js", CommonFunctions.FixupUrlWithoutSessionID("~/WebUI/Scripts/JGrid/js/jqDnR.js")); Basical i think it must be something stupid ...but i can figure it out now... How could I do this? thanks EDIT my goal is to open a dialog (fancybox) taking a variable from the loaded page EDIT2 I tried in this way paginator.php <a id="test" vid="1234">click me</a> paginator.js //Initialise the table at the first run $( '#content' ).load( pageurl, { pag: 1 }, function() { hide_anim(); popup(); }); //Page navigation click $( document ).on( 'click', 'li.goto', function() { //Get the id of clicked li var pageNum = $( this ).attr( 'id' ); $( '#content' ).load( pageurl, { pag: pageNum }, function() { hide_anim(); popup(); }); }) function.js function popup() { $('#test' ).click(function(e) { e.preventDefault(); var vid = $('#test').attr('vid'); alert ("vid is " + vid); }); } But popup not appear...

  • Metro: Creating a Master/Detail View with a WinJS ListView Control

    - by Stephen.Walther
    The goal of this blog entry is to explain how you can create a simple master/detail view by using the WinJS ListView and Template controls. In particular, I explain how you can use a ListView control to display a list of movies and how you can use a Template control to display the details of the selected movie. Creating a master/detail view requires completing the following four steps: Create the data source – The data source contains the list of movies. Declare the ListView control – The ListView control displays the entire list of movies. It is the master part of the master/detail view. Declare the Details Template control – The Details Template control displays the details for the selected movie. It is the details part of the master/detail view. Handle the selectionchanged event – You handle the selectionchanged event to display the details for a movie when a new movie is selected. Creating the Data Source There is nothing special about our data source. We initialize a WinJS.Binding.List object to represent a list of movies: (function () { "use strict"; var movies = new WinJS.Binding.List([ { title: "Star Wars", director: "Lucas"}, { title: "Shrek", director: "Adamson" }, { title: "Star Trek", director: "Abrams" }, { title: "Spiderman", director: "Raimi" }, { title: "Memento", director: "Nolan" }, { title: "Minority Report", director: "Spielberg" } ]); // Expose the data source WinJS.Namespace.define("ListViewDemos", { movies: movies }); })(); The data source is exposed to the rest of our application with the name ListViewDemos.movies. Declaring the ListView Control The ListView control is declared with the following markup: <div id="movieList" data-win-control="WinJS.UI.ListView" data-win-options="{ itemDataSource: ListViewDemos.movies.dataSource, itemTemplate: select('#masterItemTemplate'), tapBehavior: 'directSelect', selectionMode: 'single', layout: { type: WinJS.UI.ListLayout } }"> </div> The data-win-options attribute is used to set the following properties of the ListView control: itemDataSource – The ListView is bound to the list of movies which we created in the previous section. Notice that the ListView is bound to ListViewDemos.movies.dataSource and not just ListViewDemos.movies. itemTemplate – The item template contains the template used for rendering each item in the ListView. The markup for this template is included below. tabBehavior – This enumeration determines what happens when you tap or click on an item in the ListView. The possible values are directSelect, toggleSelect, invokeOnly, none. Because we want to handle the selectionchanged event, we set tapBehavior to the value directSelect. selectionMode – This enumeration determines whether you can select multiple items or only a single item. The possible values are none, single, multi. In the code above, this property is set to the value single. layout – You can use ListLayout or GridLayout with a ListView. If you want to display a vertical ListView, then you should select ListLayout. You must associate a ListView with an item template if you want to render anything interesting. The ListView above is associated with an item template named #masterItemTemplate. Here’s the markup for the masterItemTemplate: <div id="masterItemTemplate" data-win-control="WinJS.Binding.Template"> <div class="movie"> <span data-win-bind="innerText:title"></span> </div> </div> This template simply renders the title of each movie. Declaring the Details Template Control The details part of the master/detail view is created with the help of a Template control. Here’s the markup used to declare the Details Template control: <div id="detailsTemplate" data-win-control="WinJS.Binding.Template"> <div> <div> Title: <span data-win-bind="innerText:title"></span> </div> <div> Director: <span data-win-bind="innerText:director"></span> </div> </div> </div> The Details Template control displays the movie title and director.   Handling the selectionchanged Event The ListView control can raise two types of events: the iteminvoked and selectionchanged events. The iteminvoked event is raised when you click on a ListView item. The selectionchanged event is raised when one or more ListView items are selected. When you set the tapBehavior property of the ListView control to the value “directSelect” then tapping or clicking a list item raised both the iteminvoked and selectionchanged event. Tapping a list item causes the item to be selected and the item appears with a checkmark. In our code, we handle the selectionchanged event to update the movie details Template when you select a new movie. Here’s the code from the default.js file used to handle the selectionchanged event: var movieList = document.getElementById("movieList"); var detailsTemplate = document.getElementById("detailsTemplate"); var movieDetails = document.getElementById("movieDetails"); // Setup selectionchanged handler movieList.winControl.addEventListener("selectionchanged", function (evt) { if (movieList.winControl.selection.count() > 0) { movieList.winControl.selection.getItems().then(function (items) { // Clear the template container movieDetails.innerHTML = ""; // Render the template detailsTemplate.winControl.render(items[0].data, movieDetails); }); } }); The code above sets up an event handler (listener) for the selectionchanged event. The event handler first verifies that an item has been selected in the ListView (selection.count() > 0). Next, the details for the movie are rendered using the movie details Template (we created this Template in the previous section). The Complete Code For the sake of completeness, I’ve included the complete code for the master/detail view below. I’ve included both the default.html, default.js, and movies.js files. Here is the final code for the default.html file: <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <meta charset="utf-8"> <title>ListViewMasterDetail</title> <!-- WinJS references --> <link href="//Microsoft.WinJS.0.6/css/ui-dark.css" rel="stylesheet"> <script src="//Microsoft.WinJS.0.6/js/base.js"></script> <script src="//Microsoft.WinJS.0.6/js/ui.js"></script> <!-- ListViewMasterDetail references --> <link href="/css/default.css" rel="stylesheet"> <script src="/js/default.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="js/movies.js"></script> <style type="text/css"> body { font-size: xx-large; } .movie { padding: 5px; } #masterDetail { display: -ms-box; } #movieList { width: 300px; margin: 20px; } #movieDetails { margin: 20px; } </style> </head> <body> <!-- Templates --> <div id="masterItemTemplate" data-win-control="WinJS.Binding.Template"> <div class="movie"> <span data-win-bind="innerText:title"></span> </div> </div> <div id="detailsTemplate" data-win-control="WinJS.Binding.Template"> <div> <div> Title: <span data-win-bind="innerText:title"></span> </div> <div> Director: <span data-win-bind="innerText:director"></span> </div> </div> </div> <!-- Master/Detail --> <div id="masterDetail"> <!-- Master --> <div id="movieList" data-win-control="WinJS.UI.ListView" data-win-options="{ itemDataSource: ListViewDemos.movies.dataSource, itemTemplate: select('#masterItemTemplate'), tapBehavior: 'directSelect', selectionMode: 'single', layout: { type: WinJS.UI.ListLayout } }"> </div> <!-- Detail --> <div id="movieDetails"></div> </div> </body> </html> Here is the default.js file: (function () { "use strict"; var app = WinJS.Application; app.onactivated = function (eventObject) { if (eventObject.detail.kind === Windows.ApplicationModel.Activation.ActivationKind.launch) { WinJS.UI.processAll(); var movieList = document.getElementById("movieList"); var detailsTemplate = document.getElementById("detailsTemplate"); var movieDetails = document.getElementById("movieDetails"); // Setup selectionchanged handler movieList.winControl.addEventListener("selectionchanged", function (evt) { if (movieList.winControl.selection.count() > 0) { movieList.winControl.selection.getItems().then(function (items) { // Clear the template container movieDetails.innerHTML = ""; // Render the template detailsTemplate.winControl.render(items[0].data, movieDetails); }); } }); } }; app.start(); })();   Here is the movies.js file: (function () { "use strict"; var movies = new WinJS.Binding.List([ { title: "Star Wars", director: "Lucas"}, { title: "Shrek", director: "Adamson" }, { title: "Star Trek", director: "Abrams" }, { title: "Spiderman", director: "Raimi" }, { title: "Memento", director: "Nolan" }, { title: "Minority Report", director: "Spielberg" } ]); // Expose the data source WinJS.Namespace.define("ListViewDemos", { movies: movies }); })();   Summary The purpose of this blog entry was to describe how to create a simple master/detail view by taking advantage of the WinJS ListView control. • Three ways of ataching to events with dojo. What exactly is the difference?

    - by Mark
    Is the difference here just various syntactical sugars or is there a reason to use one approach over the other? They all work, and to be a little more confusing what is the difference between this and evt.currentTarget? the CSS #reportDetails table tr:hover td, #reportDetails table tr.hover td { background: #aae4e2; color: #333333; } Sample html <div id="reportDetails"> <table> <tr> <td> something</td> <td> soemthing else</td> </tr> <tr> <td> something2</td> <td> soemthing else2</td> </tr> </table> </div> dojo.behavior script dojo.require("dojo.behavior"); if (dojo.isIE <= 6) { dojo.behavior.add({ '#reportDetails tr': { onmouseover: function(evt){ dojo.addClass(evt.currentTarget, "hover");}, onmouseout: function(evt){dojo.removeClass(evt.currentTarget, "hover"); } } }); } dojo.behavior.apply(); dojo.query forEach script if (dojo.isIE <= 6) { dojo.addOnLoad(function() { dojo.query("tr", "reportDetails").forEach(function(node){ node.onmouseover=function(){dojo.addClass(node,"hover");} node.onmouseout=function() {dojo.removeClass(node,"hover");} } }); }); } dojo.query ataching straight to the events if (dojo.isIE <= 6) { dojo.addOnLoad(function(){ dojo.query("tr", "reportDetails") .onmouseover(function(evt){dojo.addClass(evt.currentTarget, "hover");}) .onmouseout(function(evt){dojo.removeClass(evt.currentTarget, "hover");}); }); } I am assuming that evt.currentTarget and node could all be replaced with this and still work. I believe there is no real difference between 2 and 3 but the first one might actually use a different approach.

  • Are there any Rails Plugins that use JS to poll the server for completion of a background process?

    - by btelles
    I know it might be simple to write some polling JS that asks the Rails application if it has completed a background job. But I wonder if anyone has already packaged up this functionality as a plugin. Basically, I have a few delayed_jobs running, and am looking for a plugin that will poll the server for completion of a particular job, then activate a callback when it finds that the job is complete. Any ideas anyone? Berns

    I can't figure out why prototype suppressess the error messages in the dom:loaded event, and in AJAX handlers. Given the following piece of HTML: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml11/DTD/xhtml11.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <title>Conforming XHTML 1.1 Template</title> <script type="text/javascript" src="prototype.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> document.observe('dom:loaded', function() { console.log('domready'); console.log(idontexist); }); </script> </head> <body> </body> </html> The domready event fires, I see the log in the console, but there is no indication of any errors whatsoever. If you move the console.log(idontexist); line out of the handler, you get the idontexist is not defined error in the console. I find it a little weird, that in other event handlers, like 'click', you get the error message, it seems that it's only the dom:loaded that has this problem. The same goes for AJAX handlers: new Ajax.Request('/', { method: 'get', onComplete: function(r) { console.log('xhr complete'); alert(youwontseeme); } }); You won't see any errors. This is with prototype.js 1.6.1, and I can't find any indication of this behavior in the docs, nor a way to enable error reporting in these handlers. I have tried stepping through the code with FireBug's debugger, and it seems to jump to a function on line 53 named K, when it encounters the missing variable in the dom:loaded handler: K: function(x) { return x } But how? Why? When? I can't see any try/catch block there, how does the program flow end up there? I know that I can make the errors visible by packing my dom:ready handler(s) in try/catch blocks, but that's not a very comfortable option. Same goes for registering a global onException handler for the AJAX calls. Why does it even suppress the errors? Did someone encounter this before?

  • mysql prevent displaying a row ONE which has reference in another row TWO but no reference in row THREE

    - by Jayapal Chandran
    I have a table like the following id | name | pid 1 | sam | NULL 2 | sams ref | 1 3 | pam | NULL For the first time the first row gets inserted which will have pid as null I insert a row which is related to the first row and then i insert a row which is new and which may be referred by another row in future. now i want only the third row to be displayed and not the first and second row as the second row contains the reference of first row. so if any row has a reference to another row then both the rows should not be displayed. Only rows which is not having any reference should be displayed. BESIDES, IS IT A GOOD PRACTICE? PLEASE ADVICE ON THIS. Edited When i updated in server the query is always giving empty result. here is what i have and this one When pid is NULL then that row should appear but when another entry in the same table with pid as its parent id or any other rows id appears then both the rows should not appear. so if any pid has been referred then both the rows should not appear. here only one row will refer another row and not more than that. in my localhost i have mysql version 5.0.1 or something like that but when i installed xampp in another system it had 5.5 and in the live server it was 5.3 so in version around 5.0 the query is returning rows but in higher versions it is returning empty rows. so now i this case how to make a query?

  • How to troubleshoot a Highcharts script that's not rendering data when date is added and hanging the JS engine with large datasets?

    - by ylluminate
    I have a Highchart JS graph that I'm building in Rails (although I don't think Ruby has real bearing on this problem unless it's the Date output format) to which I'm adding the timestamp of each datapoint. Presently the array of floats is rendering fine without timestamps, however when I add the timestamp to the series it fails to rend. What's worse is that when the series has hundreds of entries all sorts of problems arise, not the least of which is the browser entirely hanging and requiring a force quit / kill. I'm using the following to build the array of arrays data series: series1 = readings.map{|row| [(row.date.to_i * 1000), (row.data1.to_f if BigDecimal(row.data1) != BigDecimal("-1000.0"))] } This yields a result like this: series: [{"name":"Data 1","data":[[1326262980000,1.79e-09],[1326262920000,1.29e-09],[1326262860000,1.22e-09],[1326262800000,1.42e-09],[1326262740000,1.29e-09],[1326262680000,1.34e-09],[1326262620000,1.31e-09],[1326262560000,1.51e-09],[1326262500000,1.24e-09],[1326262440000,1.7e-09],[1326262380000,1.24e-09],[1326262320000,1.29e-09],[1326262260000,1.53e-09],[1326262200000,1.23e-09],[1326262140000,1.21e-09]],"color":"blue"}] Yet nothing appears on the graph as noted. Notwithstanding, when I compare the data series in one of their very similar examples here: http://www.highcharts.com/demo/spline-irregular-time It appears that really the data series are formatted identically (except in mine I use the timestamp vs date method). This leads me to think I've got a problem with the timestamp output, but I'm just not able to figure out where / how as I'm converting the date output to an integer multipled by 1000 to convert it to milliseconds as per explained in a similar Railscasts tutorial. I would very much appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction here as to what I may be doing wrong. What could cause no data to appear on the graph in smaller sized sets (<100 points) and when into the hundreds causes an apparent hang in the javascript engine in this case? Perhaps ultimately the key lies here as this is the entire js that's being generated and not rendering: jQuery(function() { // 1. Define JSON options var options = { chart: {"defaultSeriesType":"spline","renderTo":"chart_name"}, title: {"text":"Title"}, legend: {"layout":"vertical","style":{}}, xAxis: {"title":{"text":"UTC Time"},"type":"datetime"}, yAxis: [{"title":{"text":"Left Title","margin":10}},{"title":{"text":"Right Groups Title"},"opposite":true}], tooltip: {"enabled":true}, credits: {"enabled":false}, plotOptions: {"areaspline":{}}, series: [{"name":"Data 1","data":[[1326262980000,1.79e-08],[1326262920000,1.69e-08],[1326262860000,1.62e-08],[1326262800000,1.42e-08],[1326262740000,1.29e-08],[1326262680000,1.34e-08],[1326262620000,1.31e-08],[1326262560000,1.51e-08],[1326262500000,1.64e-08],[1326262440000,1.7e-08],[1326262380000,1.64e-08],[1326262320000,1.69e-08],[1326262260000,1.53e-08],[1326262200000,1.23e-08],[1326262140000,1.21e-08]],"color":"blue"},{"name":"Data 2","data":[[1326262980000,9.79e-09],[1326262920000,9.78e-09],[1326262860000,9.8e-09],[1326262800000,9.82e-09],[1326262740000,9.88e-09],[1326262680000,9.89e-09],[1326262620000,1.3e-06],[1326262560000,1.32e-06],[1326262500000,1.33e-06],[1326262440000,1.33e-06],[1326262380000,1.34e-06],[1326262320000,1.33e-06],[1326262260000,1.32e-06],[1326262200000,1.32e-06],[1326262140000,1.32e-06]],"color":"red"}], subtitle: {} }; // 2. • How can the Three-Phase Commit Protocol (3PC) guarantee atomicity?

    - by AndiDog
    I'm currently exploring worst case scenarios of atomic commit protocols like 2PC and 3PC and am stuck at the point that I can't find out why 3PC can guarantee atomicity. That is, how does it guarantee that if cohort A commits, cohort B also commits? Here's the simplified 3PC from the Wikipedia article: Now let's assume the following case: Two cohorts participate in the transaction (A and B) Both do their work, then vote for commit Coordinator now sends precommit messages... A receives the precommit message, acknowledges, and then goes offline for a long time B doesn't receive the precommit message (whatever the reason might be) and is thus still in "uncertain" state The results: Coordinator aborts the transaction because not all precommit messages were sent and acknowledged successfully A, who is in precommit state, is still offline, thus times out and commits B aborts in any case: He either stays offline and times out (causes abort) or comes online and receives the abort command from the coordinator And there you have it: One cohort committed, another aborted. The transaction is screwed. So what am I missing here? In my understanding, if the automatic commit on timeout (in precommit state) was replaced by infinitely waiting for a coordinator command, that case should work fine.

  • Tag Cloud JS + Flash. Actual Tags In Cloud Not Clickable?

    - by Alex
    Hello all, I've implemented a tag cloud on a site of mine, and I'm using a JS script to populate it, but for some reason, the actual text in the tag cloud is not clickable. It displays and works correctly, but the actual text of the cloud is not getting treated as a link for some odd reason. My question is: In my script below, do you see anything that I need to fix in order to make my tag cloud's text actually be links? The site I've implemented it on is a stackexhange site that I run, it is supposed to be a cloud of the "recent tags." CloudPopulator.js <script type="text/javascript"> var divRecentTags = document.getElementById("recent-tags"); if (divRecentTags) { var cloud = new SWFObject("some/swfObject/url", "tagcloudflash", "200", "200", "9", "#ffffff"); cloud.addParam("allowScriptAccess", "always"); cloud.addVariable("tcolor", "0x0a94d6"); cloud.addVariable("tcolor2", "0xC0C0C0"); cloud.addVariable("hicolor", "0x000000"); cloud.addVariable("tspeed", "150"); cloud.addVariable("distr", "true"); cloud.addVariable("mode", "tags"); var aTags = divRecentTags.getElementsByTagName("a"); var tagHtml = ""; for(var i = 0; i < aTags.length; i++) { var hrefText = aTags[i].getAttribute("href"); var cssText = aTags[i].className; var tagName = $(aTags[i]).text(); var styleText = "style=\'font-size: 8pt;\'"; if (cssText == "post-tag pop1") { var styleText = "style=\'font-size: 15pt;\'"; } else if (cssText == "post-tag pop2") { var styleText = "style=\'font-size: 22pt;\'"; } var newLinkText = "<a href=\'"+hrefText+"\'"+styleText+">"+tagName+"</a>"; tagHtml = tagHtml + newLinkText; } cloud.addVariable("tagcloud", escape("<tags>" + tagHtml + "</tags>")); cloud.write("recent-tags"); } </script>
