  • Whats the difference between Command Parameters and Menu Contribution Parameters

    I can see that parameters can be defined for Commands defined using the Commands extension point. I can not define a value for these command parameters. I can also define parameters under the Command element in the menus extension point when defining menu contributions. I can define a value for the parameter here. Are the command parameters in Command different from parameters in menu contributions? If they are different how are they different?

  • Problem in Apache CXF (Simple Frontend): 'Already connected'

    I am using apache CXF for the first time. I am trying to establish a connection based on the CXF simple front end (Configuration notes) technology. I can't really see what I've done wrong, but I am getting a weird error (see below). I have also posted this question to [email protected], but I haven't received a response yet. Perhaps someone here can help. The service bean that is wrapped here is a Spring / JPA service that does not know anything about the web, I want to use simple frontend to publish it as a web service without having to annotate it with Jax-ws etc. (This works in theory). I have to admit, it's not a big issue, but it's starting to annoy me. What makes this extra annoying is that if I have additional elements at the same level, xsd.exe binds them as "Item1", "Item2", etc. Does anyone know if it's possible to not have xsd.exe name my choice elements as "Item", and instead be able to put in my own property names?

  • Xsd recursion of complexTypes

    I am just learning XML/XSD and am struggling with the implementation of an XML-schema which models a folder structure. What I had in mind was defining a complexType for the folder which can have additional folder instances that represent subfolders. Using the xsd schema validator here always returns that the schema is invalid. (Aside from users being driven mad by some stupid little blinking favicon.) Have you seen a browser get confused by a gif file with a .ico extension?

    I've been playing around with "bottom-up" JAX-WS and have come across something odd when running wsgen. If I have a service class that does something like: @WebService public class Foo { public ArrayList<Bar> getBarList(String baz) { ... } } then running wsgen gets me a FooService_schema1.xsd that has something like this: <xs:complexType name="getBarListResponse"> <xs:sequence> <xs:element name="return" type="tns:bar" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded"/> </xs:sequence> </xs:complexType> which seems reasonable. However, if I want a collection of collections like: public BarCollection getBarCollection(String baz) { ... } // BarCollection is just a container for an ArrayList<Bar> then the generated schema ends up with stuff like: <xs:complexType name="barCollection"> <xs:sequence/> </xs:complexType> <xs:complexType name="getBookCollectionsResponse"> <xs:sequence> <xs:element name="return" type="tns:barCollection" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded"/> </xs:sequence> </xs:complexType> An empty sequence is not what I had in mind at all. For instance, suppose I knew that a file were called "hello", but I didn't know the extension, how would I write a function that searched for a file called hello.* and returned the name of this file?     Fatal error: Call to a member function getArea() on a non-object in {directory}/includes/src/Mage_Core_Model_App_Area.php on line 155 Cropped up when I installed an extension that I wrote on a clean install of Magento. When ported to the dev server it took it down and I cant seem to find where it has originated. Disabling the extension changes nothing. Along with clearing the cache and all the regular Magento hiccups. I've ensured that file permissions are correct to the best of my knowledge.

    From what I read, PHP 6 will break a lot of php scripts. I understand the reasons why it may break but why don't they just keep the PHP 5 and simply call PHP 6 as a different language based on PHP syntax? Like for example, why not just call php 6 scripts with an extension, "p6"- why are they trying so hard to make it backward compatible for old scripts when the extension can be used to call a specific interpreter?
