  I need to find the category id in the products table below. However the cms_ecom_categories.id is wrapped with the & character like &12&.   Hi Ok dealing with Partial Loops I want to do several things Perhaps pass in extra variables - seen it done like this echo $this-partialLoop('Loop.phtml', array('data' = $data, 'var1' = foo)); But this does not seem to work - I can not extra the data using $this-var $this-data-var or $data-var not sure how to access the data in the loop Sutotals for columns - need a way of resetting variables or passing in a default value - linked to the above I suppose ie $subtotal += rowTotal; In the view that calls the partial I would like to get access to the subtotal values generated so I can display these in another table below. Any help appreciated the docs on partialLoop seems incomplete. Ian

The problem is that in the Excel sheets I am importing, I do not know beforehand which cells are calculated and which are not. Is there a way for me to read in the value of a cell in a way that automatically gets the value if it has a simple value and gets the result of the calculation if it is a calculation? Answer: It turns out that getCalculatedValue() works for all cells, makes me wonder why this isn't the default for getValue() since I would think one would usually want the value of the calculations instead of the equations themselves, in any case this works: ...->getCell($columnAsLetters.$row)->getCalculatedValue();

• fileinfo and mime types I've never heard of

  I'm not a stranger to mime types but this is strange. Normally, a text file would have been considered to be of text/plain mime but now, after implementing fileinfo, this type of file is now considered to be "text/x-pascal". I'm a little concerned because I need to be sure that I get the correct mime types set before allowing users to upload with it. Is there a cheat sheet that will give me all of the "common" mimes as they are interpreted by fileinfo? Sinan provided a link that lists all of the more common mimes. If you look at this list, you will see that a .txt file is of text/plain mime but in my case, a plain-jane text file is interpreted as text/pascal.

• double left MYSQL join?

  I've been trying left joins but as there are 2 joins, i think the problem is the 2nd join roots from table_B not table_A. i am not getting any results where there is the required data in the db. • MeioUpload and phpThumb() does not exist error

  I am currently using CakePHP v2.2.1 and MeioUpload 4.0 along with phpThumb() to try and generate image uploads and thumbnails for those images. If i set my $actAs = array() without the thumbsizes property everything is uploaded well, but when I add the following: 'thumbsizes' => array( 'small' => array('width' => 165, 'height' => 115), 'medium' => array('width' => 800, 'height' => 600) ), to generate thumbnails I get an error stating the following: "E:/xampp/htdocs/site/vendors/phpthumb/img/posts/image-name.jpg" does not exist I have tried several different methods of fixing this from around the web and nothing seems to work. I am new to cakephp so this may be an easy fix and I am just not connecting the dots to find the solution. Any help would be very much appreciated.

• Load a controller into an other controller in cakephp

  im developing a web application, using multiple pages, each with their own controller. The problem now is that there are some variables in a controller, created for one page, that are required for an other page ( with a different controller). Therefor i need to load one controller into the other one. I did this by adding App::import('Controller', 'sections'); $sections= new sectionsController; $sections-constructClasses(); to the controller, but this doens't seem to work.. Maybe u guys have some ideas? Thnx in advance!

  Hello, The query below works well. It pulls data from two MySQL tables, "submission" and "login." I would like to also pull data from a third table called "comment" in the same database. The table "comment" has the following fields: commentid, loginid, submissionid, comment, datecommented Two of the fields in the table "login" are called "loginid" and "username." In the query below, I would like to count all "commentid" in "comment" where "loginid" equals the "loginid" in "login" where "username" equals "$profile." How can I do this?   so here's the problem I have one form, it outputs search results after submit, with this URL http://localhost/thi/search/results?keyword=barma&search=1&minprice=nomin&maxprice=nomax&minroom=nomin&maxroom=nomax&minyear=nomin&maxyear=2010 Now I have another form, which is supposed to filter the results from the previous form by getting the current url of the search results and appending to it the GET variables submitted by this form. I tried filtering before, but that is with anchor links. How am I supposed to do it with forms? Anny approaches?

When they search for "burton snowboards", I only want the snowboards with the brand burton to appear in the results. I'm not sure how to fix these problems though, any insights or solutions will be greatly appreciated.

  My SMF forum contains posts with video and I want to extract them to show on the Wordpress main page. My current regexp (thanks to SO!) extracts the url of the videos, which I embed using AutoEmbed. Everything works up until a post looks like this: <embed height="600" width="600" allowscriptaccess="never" quality="high" loop="true" play="true" src="http://mmavlog.net/embed/player.swf?file=http://video.ufc.tv/CSG/UFC113/20100507_ufc113_weigh_in_400k.flv" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"> Here is my current regexp: $regexp = "/\b(?:(?:https?|ftp):\/\/|www\.)[-a-z0-9+&@#\/%?=~_|!:,.;]*[-a-z0-9+&@#\/%=~_|]/i"; Since the posts can contain <embed> or <object> I realize that looking for the url by the "http" might be inaccurate. How can I use the regexp to look for "src=" for <embed> and "data=" for <object>?
