  Hi guys, I've got a WCF service (basicHttpBinding, basic authentication, IIS 6.0) on which I want to restrict the number of calls per hour - on user basis. For example, max 1000 calls per user, per hour (a la Google Maps, etc). I also want to implement some sort of subscription mechanism, so that users can upgrade their call-limit across various 'price plans'. I know that I could achieve this with a custom Inspector, backed by a DB containing some sort of 'subscription' table and a counter, but I'd like to avoid reinventing the wheel. Does anyone have experience doing this? Are there 3rd party projects/libraries that support this out of the box? Thanks. Eric

• SSIS - How do I see/set the field types in a Recordset?

  I'm looking at an inherited SSIS package, and a stored procedure is sending records to a recordset called USER:NEW_RECORDS. It's of type Object, and the value is System.Object. It is then used for inputting that data to a SQL table. We're getting an error, because it seems that the numeric results of the stored procedure are being put in a DT_WSTR field, and then failing when it is then put into a decimal field in the database. Most of the records are working, but one, which happens to have a longer number of decimal digits, is failing. I want to see exactly what my SSIS recordset field types are, and probably change them, so I can force the data to be truncated properly and copied. Or, perhaps, I'm not even looking at this correctly. The data is put into the recordset using a SQL Task that executes the stored procedure.

  Hello in my application I have a NSTableView bound to an ArrayController (arrangedObjects). I also have a Details-View (just some textfields) bound to the same Controller (selection). Now every time I edit a textfield the changes are automatically send to the ArrayController and the Table changes as well. How can I avoid this? What I want is a "Submit-Button". Changes on the data should only be send to the controller when I press the button and not automatically every time I do an edit.

  I found that the "with rollup" option used with group by is very useful. But it does not behave with "order by" clause. Is there any way to order by the way I want as well as calculate the sub-totals?   Hi I have an XML column in my table which contains this xsd snippet: <xsd:element name="Postcode" minOccurs="0"> <xsd:simpleType> <xsd:restriction base="xsd:string"> <xsd:pattern value="^[0-9]{4}$" /> </xsd:restriction> </xsd:simpleType> </xsd:element> The regular expression should require a string containing 4 numerical digits. It validates perfectly in Visual Studio and is a correct regular expression. SQL Server, on the other hand, won't accept it. The error message I receive is: XML Validation: Invalid simple type value: '1234'. Location: / * : Donor[1]/*:Postcode[1]. I have an email address regex working fine, but can't get this simple numerical regex to work.

  I'm trying to use SQL Server Profiler (2005) to track down some application performance problems. One of the calls being made is to a table-valued user-defined function. This function wraps a select that joins several tables together. In SQL Server Profiler, the call to the UDF is logged. However, the select that underlies the UDF isn't being logged at all. Because of this, I'm not getting useful data on which tables & indexes are being hit. I'd like to feed this info into the Database Tuning Advisor for some indexing advice. Is there any way (short of unwrapping the queries themselves) to log the tables called by UDFs in Profiler?

Now we are adding some more segment of market into it and the no of records would be double (2 Millions/day). Currently the average record insertion per second is about 50, maximum is 450 and minimum is 0. To check certain conditions i have used service broker (asynchronous trigger) on my price table. It is running fine at this time(about 35% CPU utilization). Now i am planning to create a in memory dataset of current stock price. we would like to do some simple calculations. I want to know different views of members on this. Please provide your way of dealing with such situation.

• iPhone: UITableView Becomes Invisible after Changing the Data it Displays

  Hi I have application with a TabBar that controls several views. In one view, I control connections to different servers. Each server provides a different set of items. I display these items in UITableView on another view. The problem is that the tableview displays OK the first time but if I go back to view number one and change the server, thereby changing the list of items that should be displayed in tableview, the tableview becomes invisible for some reason. If I tap on the screen in the place where it should be, it becomes visible again. I create table view like this UITableView * aTableView = [[UITableView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(X,Y,Width,Height) style:UITableViewStyleGrouped]; [[self view] addSubview:aTableView]; aTableView.dataSource = self; Ive tried to call reloadData and setNeedsDisplay in viewWillAppear of the UIViewController that hosts this tableview but without success.   Hi, I am currently creating a customer application for a local company. I have a datagridview linked to the customers table, and I am trying to link it up so that updates, inserts and deletions are handled correctly. I am very new to c# so I am starting with the basics (like about 2 days ago I knew nothing - I know vb.net, Java and several other languages though..). Anywho from what I understand anything output through Debug.WriteLine should only appear when in debug mode (common sense really) but anything output through Concole.WriteLine should appear whether or not in debug mode. However I have checked the immediate and output windows and nothing is being output when in normal mode. Does anyone have any idea why this is?? Thanks in advance, Richard

• Getting "value is not defined" while inheriting a type

  I can't see what I am doing wrong, as the files are in the correct order. In this case it is: BaseDAO.fs CreateDatabase.fs They are in the same namespace, but even when I had them in different modules, and opened the module in CreateDatabase the same error. • Left Join 3 Tables and Show True or False on Empty Cells

  Ok, this may be confusing so I hope I explain it correctly. I have 4 tables: business photos video category I want to display "featured" businesses on the home page (or elsewhere) and I want to show a Yes or No in the table row based upon whether or not there are photos or videos for that business. Example: Joes Crab Shack has no videos or photos but is featured. So, when his row is echoed out it will show the Business Name and Business Owner but there will be no data in the photo or video cells thus in the video and photos column it will say No. Otherwise, if the opposite was true, it would say Yes. • Three vertically stacked DIVs with scrolling middle

  Is it possible to stack three DIVs vertically and have just the middle div scroll vertically? I don't want to use pixel heights, though, because the DIVs are inside of a dialog box that is resizeable. Something like this (pardon my lousy ASCII art): +-----------+ | Header | +-----------+ | ^| | || | Scroll || | || | v| +-----------+ | Footer | +-----------+ The goal is to have the header and and footer fixed and, as the dialog grows, the middle div would grow vertically. Maybe I'm just being stupid, but I've been fighting this for the last few hours and can't seem to get it right. The three DIVs probably need to be inside "another" DIV but when I do that, and set the height to 100%, it grows as the middle DIV grows. Again, it's probably something silly I'm not accounting for. I've also tried using a TABLE to no avail. Thanks for any help.

  In mysql, you can insert multiple rows to a table in one query for n 0: INSERT INTO tbl_name (a,b,c) VALUES(1,2,3),(4,5,6),(7,8,9), ..., (n-2, n-1, n); Is there a way to achieve the above with Django queryset methods? Here's an example: values = [(1, 2, 3), (4, 5, 6), ...] for value in values: SomeModel.objects.create(first=value[0], second=value[1], third=value[2]) I believe the above is calling an insert query for each iteration of the for loop. I'm looking for a single query, is that possible in Django?

• How do I average the difference between specific values in TSQL?

  Hey folks, sorry this is a bit of a longer question... I have a table with the following columns: [ChatID] [User] [LogID] [CreatedOn] [Text] What I need to find is the average response time for a given user id, to another specific user id. So, if my data looks like: [1] [john] [20] [1/1/11 3:00:00] [Hello] [1] [john] [21] [1/1/11 3:00:23] [Anyone there?] [1] [susan] [22] [1/1/11 3:00:43] [Hello!] [1] [susan] [23] [1/1/11 3:00:53] [What's up?] [1] [john] [24] [1/1/11 3:01:02] [Not much] [1] [susan] [25] [1/1/11 3:01:08] [Cool] ...then I need to see that Susan has an average response time of (20 + 6) / 2 = 13 seconds to John, and John has an average of (9 / 1) = 9 seconds to Susan. I'm not even sure this can be done in set-based logic, but if anyone has any ideas, they'd be much appreciated!
