However, I want it to disconnect the client when an unrecognised packet is received. For some reason, it responds fine to the handshake and HTML status request, but the else clause is never executed when there's an unknown packet. Thanks

  Hello, my eventual goal is to be able to use the authentication and communication to a GMail inbox. In my attempt, I stumbled up on GCALDaemon and am trying to set it up as a project within eclipse. However, I am running into problems running the project from the included .launch files. • Dispose, when is it called?

So that quite sucks. I want to write a class that is straightforward and very easy to use, to make sure that every possible resource is cleaned up. I don't want to put that responsibilty to the user of my class. Possible solution: use using, or call Dispose myself(basicly the same). Can I force the user to use a using? Or can I force the dispose to be called? Calling GC.Collect(); after Test(); doesn't work either. Putting di to null doesn't invoke Dispose either. The Deconstructor DOES work, so the object get's deconstructed when it exits Test()

  I am having difficulties with trying to load a user by their id, for some reason my http.get call isn't hitting my controller. I get the following error in the browser console: TypeError: undefined is not a function at new <anonymous> (http://localhost:9000/scripts/controllers/users.js:10:8) Update I've fixed my code up as per comments below, but now my code just enters an infinite loop in the angular users controllers (see code below). • Apache's AuthDigestDomain and Rails Distributed Asset Hosts

  I've got a server I'm in the process of setting up and I'm running into an Apache configuration problem that I can not get around. I've got Apache 2.2 and Passenger serving a Rails app with distributed asset hosting. This is the feature of Rails that lets you serve your static assets from assets0.example.com, assets1, assets2, and so on. The site needs to be passworded until launch. I've set up HTTP authentication on the site using Apache's mod_auth_digest. In my configuration I'm attempting to use the AuthDigestDomain directive to allow access to each of the asset URLs. The problem is, it doesn't seem to be working. I get the initial prompt for the password when I load the page, but then the first time it loads an asset from one of the asset URLs, I get prompted a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th time. In some browsers, I get prompted for every single resource on the page. I'm hoping that this is only a problem of how I'm specifying my directives and not a limitation of authorization in Apache itself. • Is this method a good aproach to get SQL values from C#?

• Is this a good way to generically deserialize objects?

  I have a stream onto which serialized objects representing messages are dumped periodically. The objects are one of a very limited number of types, and other than the actual sequence of bytes that arrives, I have no way of knowing what type of message it is. I would like to simply try to deserialize it as an object of a particular type, and if an exception is thrown, try again with the next type. Then I want to invoke each handler's Handle method on a particular message to see if it can be deserialized. If I get a null result, move onto the next handler; otherwise, the message has been deserialized. Can this be done? Is there a better way to deserialize data of unknown (but restricted) type?

• .NET memory leak?

  I have an MDI which has a child form. The child form has a DataGridView in it. I load huge amount of data in the datagrid view. When I close the child form the disposing method is called in which I dispose the datagridview this.dataGrid.Dispose(); this.dataGrid = null; When I close the form the memory doesn't go down. I use the .NET memory profiler to track the memory usage. I see that the memory usage goes high when I initially load the data grid (as expected) and then becomes constant when the loading is complete. When I close the form it still remains constant. However when I take a snapshot of the memory using the memory profiler, it goes down to what it was before loading the file. Taking memory snapshot causes it to forcefully run garbage collector. What is going on? Is there a memory leak? Or do I need to run the garbage collector forcefully? More information: When I am closing the form I no longer need the information. That is why I am not holding a reference to the data.

• Weird behaviour with Scanner#nextFloat

  Running the following in Eclipse initially caused Scanner to not recognize carriage returns in the console effectively blocking further input: price = sc.nextFloat(); Adding this line before the code causes Scanner to accept 0,23 (french notation) as a float: Locale.setDefault(Locale.US); This is most probably due to regional settings in Windows XP Pro. When the code is run again 0,23 is still accepted and entering 0.23 causes it to throw a java.util.InputMismatchException. Any explanation as to why this is happening? Also is there a workaround or should I just use Float#parseFloat?   I am trying to read in an input file 64 bits at a time, then do some calculations on those 64 bits, the problem is I need to convert the ascii text to hexadecimal characters. I have searched around but none of the answers posted seem to work for my situation. This method is being called as List<FactorClass> listFC = new List<FactorClass>(); listFC.Add(new FactorClass { Name = "BKP", FactorValue="Book to price",IsGlobal =false }); listFC.Add(new FactorClass { Name = "YLD", FactorValue = "Dividend yield", IsGlobal = false }); listFC.Add(new FactorClass { Name = "EPM", FactorValue = "emp", IsGlobal = false }); listFC.Add(new FactorClass { Name = "SE", FactorValue = "something else", IsGlobal = false }); List<FactorClass> listFC1 = listFC.Search("BKP").ToList(); It is working fine. But a closer look into the extension method will reveal that Type k = t.GetType(); PropertyInfo pi = k.GetProperty("Name"); is actually inside a foreach loop which is actually not needed.
