  • postfix 5.7.1 Relay access denied when sending mail with cron

    - by zensys
    Reluctant to ask because there is so much here about 'postfix relay access denied' but I cannot find my case: I use php (Zend Framework) to send emails outside my network using the Google mail server because I could not send mail outside my server (user: web). However when I sent out an email via cron (user: root, I believe), still using ZF, using the same mail config/credentials, I get the message: '5.7.1 Relay access denied' I guess I need to know one of two things: 1. How can I use the google smtp server from cron 2. What do I need to change in my config to send mail using my own server instead of google Though the answer to 2. is the more structural solution I assume, I am quite happy with an answer to 1. as well because I think Google is better at server maintaince (security/spam) than I am. • Relay Access Denied (State 13) Postfix + Dovecot + Mysql

    - by Pierre Jeptha
    So we have been scratching our heads for quite some time over this relay issue that has presented itself since we re-built our mail-server after a failed Webmin update. We are running Debian Karmic with postfix 2.6.5 and Dovecot 1.1.11, sourcing from a Mysql database and authenticating with SASL2 and PAM. Here are the symptoms of our problem: 1) When users are on our local network they can send and receive 100% perfectly fine. 2) When users are off our local network and try to send to domains not of this mail server (ie. gmail) they get the "Relay Access Denied" error. However users can send to domains of this mail server when off the local network fine. 3) We host several virtual domains on this mailserver, the primary domain being airnet.ca. The rest of our virtual domains (ex. jeptha.ca) cannot receive email from domains not hosted by this mailserver (ie. gmail and such cannot send to them). They receive bounce backs of "Relay Access Denied (State 13)". This is regardless of whether they are on our local network or not, which is why it is so urgent for us to get this solved. Here is our main.cf from postfix: myhostname = mail.airnet.ca mydomain = airnet.ca smtpd_banner = $myhostname ESMTP $mail_name (Ubuntu) biff = no smtpd_sasl_type = dovecot queue_directory = /var/spool/postfix smtpd_sasl_path = private/auth smtpd_sender_restrictions = permit_mynetworks permit_sasl_authenticated smtp_sasl_auth_enable = yes smtpd_sasl_auth_enable = yes append_dot_mydomain = no readme_directory = no smtp_tls_security_level = may smtpd_tls_security_level = may smtp_tls_note_starttls_offer = yes smtpd_tls_key_file = /etc/ssl/private/ssl-cert-snakeoil.key smtpd_tls_cert_file = /etc/ssl/certs/ssl-cert-snakeoil.pem smtpd_tls_loglevel = 1 smtpd_tls_received_header = yes smtpd_tls_auth_only = no alias_maps = proxy:mysql:/etc/postfix/mysql/alias.cf hash:/etc/aliases alias_database = hash:/etc/aliases mydestination = mail.airnet.ca, airnet.ca, localhost.$mydomain mailbox_command = procmail -a "$EXTENSION" mailbox_size_limit = 0 recipient_delimiter = + local_recipient_maps = $alias_maps $virtual_mailbox_maps proxy:unix:passwd.byname home_mailbox = /var/virtual/ mail_spool_directory = /var/spool/mail mailbox_transport = maildrop smtpd_helo_required = yes disable_vrfy_command = yes smtpd_etrn_restrictions = reject smtpd_data_restrictions = reject_unauth_pipelining, permit show_user_unknown_table_name = no proxy_read_maps = $local_recipient_maps $mydestination $virtual_alias_maps $virtual_alias_domains $virtual_mailbox_maps $virtual_mailbox_domains $relay_recipient_maps $relay_domains $canonical_maps $sender_canonical_maps $recipient_canonical_maps $relocated_maps $transport_maps $mynetworks $virtual_mailbox_limit_maps $virtual_uid_maps $virtual_gid_maps virtual_alias_domains = message_size_limit = 20971520 transport_maps = proxy:mysql:/etc/postfix/mysql/vdomain.cf virtual_mailbox_maps = proxy:mysql:/etc/postfix/mysql/vmailbox.cf virtual_alias_maps = proxy:mysql:/etc/postfix/mysql/alias.cf hash:/etc/mailman/aliases virtual_uid_maps = proxy:mysql:/etc/postfix/mysql/vuid.cf virtual_gid_maps = proxy:mysql:/etc/postfix/mysql/vgid.cf virtual_mailbox_base = / virtual_mailbox_limit = 209715200 virtual_mailbox_extended = yes virtual_create_maildirsize = yes virtual_mailbox_limit_maps = proxy:mysql:/etc/postfix/mysql/vmlimit.cf virtual_mailbox_limit_override = yes virtual_mailbox_limit_inbox = no virtual_overquote_bounce = yes virtual_minimum_uid = 1 maximal_queue_lifetime = 1d bounce_queue_lifetime = 4h delay_warning_time = 1h append_dot_mydomain = no qmgr_message_active_limit = 500 broken_sasl_auth_clients = yes smtpd_sasl_path = private/auth smtpd_sasl_local_domain = $myhostname smtpd_sasl_security_options = noanonymous smtpd_sasl_authenticated_header = yes smtp_bind_address = 142.46.193.6 relay_domains = $mydestination mynetworks = 127.0.0.0, 142.46.193.0/25 inet_interfaces = all inet_protocols = all And here is the master.cf from postfix: # ========================================================================== # service type private unpriv chroot wakeup maxproc command + args # (yes) (yes) (yes) (never) (100) # ========================================================================== smtp inet n - - - - smtpd #submission inet n - - - - smtpd # -o smtpd_tls_security_level=encrypt # -o smtpd_sasl_auth_enable=yes # -o smtpd_client_restrictions=permit_sasl_authenticated,reject # -o milter_macro_daemon_name=ORIGINATING #smtps inet n - - - - smtpd # -o smtpd_tls_wrappermode=yes # -o smtpd_sasl_auth_enable=yes # -o smtpd_client_restrictions=permit_sasl_authenticated,reject # -o milter_macro_daemon_name=ORIGINATING #628 inet n - - - - qmqpd pickup fifo n - - 60 1 pickup cleanup unix n - - - 0 cleanup qmgr fifo n - n 300 1 qmgr #qmgr fifo n - - 300 1 oqmgr tlsmgr unix - - - 1000?   • Can't connect to smtp (postfix, dovecot) after making a change and trying to change it back

    - by UberBrainChild
    I am using postfix and dovecot along with zpanel and I tried enabling SSL and then turned it off as I did not have SSL configured yet and I realized it was a bit stupid at the time. I am using CentOS 6.4. I get the following error in the mail log. (I changed my host name to "myhostname" and my domain to "mydomain.com") Oct 20 01:49:06 myhostname postfix/smtpd[4714]: connect from mydomain.com[127.0.0.1] Oct 20 01:49:16 myhostname postfix/smtpd[4714]: fatal: no SASL authentication mechanisms Oct 20 01:49:17 myhostname postfix/master[4708]: warning: process /usr/libexec/postfix/smtpd pid 4714 exit status 1 Oct 20 01:49:17 amyhostname postfix/master[4708]: warning: /usr/libexec/postfix/smtpd: bad command startup -- throttling Reading on forums and similar questions I figured it was just a service that was not running or installed. However I can see that saslauthd is currently up and running on my system and restarting it does not help. Here is my postfix master.cf # # Postfix master process configuration file. It's so difficult to track dozens of passwords in different locations. Syncing fails from time to time and you end up with collision correction avoidance syndrome. Is there a single source of safe, online, commercial password storage anywhere? One that will be around for years to come and one that is truly safe enough to ensure protection?

  • I added some options to stop spam with Postfix, but now won't send email to remote domains

    - by willdanceforfun
    I had a working Postfix server, but added a few lines to my main.cf in a hope to block some common spam. Those lines I added were: smtpd_helo_required = yes smtpd_recipient_restrictions = reject_invalid_hostname, reject_unknown_recipient_domain, reject_unauth_pipelining, permit_mynetworks, permit_sasl_authenticated, reject_unauth_destination, reject_rbl_client multi.uribl.com, reject_rbl_client dsn.rfc-ignorant.org, reject_rbl_client dul.dnsbl.sorbs.net, reject_rbl_client list.dsbl.org, reject_rbl_client sbl-xbl.spamhaus.org, reject_rbl_client bl.spamcop.net, reject_rbl_client dnsbl.sorbs.net, reject_rbl_client cbl.abuseat.org, reject_rbl_client ix.dnsbl.manitu.net, reject_rbl_client combined.rbl.msrbl.net, reject_rbl_client rabl.nuclearelephant.com, permit It appears my postfix is now receiving normal emails fine, and blocking spam emails. But when I now try to use this server myself to send to a remote domain (an email not on my server) I get bounced, with maillog saying something like this: Nov 12 06:19:36 srv postfix/smtpd[11756]: NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from unknown[xx.xx.x.xxx]: 450 4.1.2 <[email protected]>: Recipient address rejected: Domain not found; from=<[email protected]> to=<[email protected]> proto=ESMTP helo=<[192.168.1.100]> Is that saying 'domain not found' for gmail.com? • Emacs protection against simultaneous editing by same user

    - by Peter Eisentraut
    Emacs has elaborate protection against simultaneous editing by two different users. If there a way to have that same facility for protecting against simultaneous editing by the same user? With lots of windows and workspaces open, it's easy to reopen a file that you already have open somewhere else. But because it does not detect a lock conflict when you open the file, you will only learn about the collision when you save.

  • C#/.NET Little Wonders: Tuples and Tuple Factory Methods

    - by James Michael Hare
    Once again, in this series of posts I look at the parts of the .NET Framework that may seem trivial, but can really help improve your code by making it easier to write and maintain.  This week, we look at the System.Tuple class and the handy factory methods for creating a Tuple by inferring the types. What is a Tuple? The System.Tuple is a class that tends to inspire a reaction in one of two ways: love or hate.  Simply put, a Tuple is a data structure that holds a specific number of items of a specific type in a specific order.  That is, a Tuple<int, string, int> is a tuple that contains exactly three items: an int, followed by a string, followed by an int.  The sequence is important not only to distinguish between two members of the tuple with the same type, but also for comparisons between tuples.  Some people tend to love tuples because they give you a quick way to combine multiple values into one result.  This can be handy for returning more than one value from a method (without using out or ref parameters), or for creating a compound key to a Dictionary, or any other purpose you can think of.  They can be especially handy when passing a series of items into a call that only takes one object parameter, such as passing an argument to a thread's startup routine.  In these cases, you do not need to define a class, simply create a tuple containing the types you wish to return, and you are ready to go? On the other hand, there are some people who see tuples as a crutch in object-oriented design.  They may view the tuple as a very watered down class with very little inherent semantic meaning.  As an example, what if you saw this in a piece of code: 1: var x = new Tuple<int, int>(2, 5); What are the contents of this tuple?  If the tuple isn't named appropriately, and if the contents of each member are not self evident from the type this can be a confusing question.  The people who tend to be against tuples would rather you explicitly code a class to contain the values, such as: 1: public sealed class RetrySettings 2: { 3: public int TimeoutSeconds { get; set; } 4: public int MaxRetries { get; set; } 5: } Here, the meaning of each int in the class is much more clear, but it's a bit more work to create the class and can clutter a solution with extra classes. So, what's the correct way to go?  That's a tough call.  You will have people who will argue quite well for one or the other.  For me, I consider the Tuple to be a tool to make it easy to collect values together easily.  There are times when I just need to combine items for a key or a result, in which case the tuple is short lived and so the meaning isn't easily lost and I feel this is a good compromise.  If the scope of the collection of items, though, is more application-wide I tend to favor creating a full class. Finally, it should be noted that tuples are immutable.  That means they are assigned a value at construction, and that value cannot be changed.  Now, of course if the tuple contains an item of a reference type, this means that the reference is immutable and not the item referred to. Tuples from 1 to N Tuples come in all sizes, you can have as few as one element in your tuple, or as many as you like.  However, since C# generics can't have an infinite generic type parameter list, any items after 7 have to be collapsed into another tuple, as we'll show shortly. So when you declare your tuple from sizes 1 (a 1-tuple or singleton) to 7 (a 7-tuple or septuple), simply include the appropriate number of type arguments: 1: // a singleton tuple of integer 2: Tuple<int> x; 3:  4: // or more 5: Tuple<int, double> y; 6:  7: // up to seven 8: Tuple<int, double, char, double, int, string, uint> z; Anything eight and above, and we have to nest tuples inside of tuples.  The last element of the 8-tuple is the generic type parameter Rest, this is special in that the Tuple checks to make sure at runtime that the type is a Tuple.  This means that a simple 8-tuple must nest a singleton tuple (one of the good uses for a singleton tuple, by the way) for the Rest property. 1: // an 8-tuple 2: Tuple<int, int, int, int, int, double, char, Tuple<string>> t8; 3:  4: // an 9-tuple 5: Tuple<int, int, int, int, double, int, char, Tuple<string, DateTime>> t9; 6:  7: // a 16-tuple 8: Tuple<int, int, int, int, int, int, int, Tuple<int, int, int, int, int, int, int, Tuple<int,int>>> t14; Notice that on the 14-tuple we had to have a nested tuple in the nested tuple.  Since the tuple can only support up to seven items, and then a rest element, that means that if the nested tuple needs more than seven items you must nest in it as well.  Constructing tuples Constructing tuples is just as straightforward as declaring them.  That said, you have two distinct ways to do it.  The first is to construct the tuple explicitly yourself: 1: var t3 = new Tuple<int, string, double>(1, "Hello", 3.1415927); This creates a triple that has an int, string, and double and assigns the values 1, "Hello", and 3.1415927 respectively.  Make sure the order of the arguments supplied matches the order of the types!  Also notice that we can't half-assign a tuple or create a default tuple.  Tuples are immutable (you can't change the values once constructed), so thus you must provide all values at construction time. Another way to easily create tuples is to do it implicitly using the System.Tuple static class's Create() factory methods.  These methods (much like C++'s std::make_pair method) will infer the types from the method call so you don't have to type them in.  This can dramatically reduce the amount of typing required especially for complex tuples! 1: // this 4-tuple is typed Tuple<int, double, string, char> 2: var t4 = Tuple.Create(42, 3.1415927, "Love", 'X'); Notice how much easier it is to use the factory methods and infer the types?  This can cut down on typing quite a bit when constructing tuples.  The Create() factory method can construct from a 1-tuple (singleton) to an 8-tuple (octuple), which of course will be a octuple where the last item is a singleton as we described before in nested tuples. Accessing tuple members Accessing a tuple's members is simplicity itself… mostly.  The properties for accessing up to the first seven items are Item1, Item2, …, Item7.  If you have an octuple or beyond, the final property is Rest which will give you the nested tuple which you can then access in a similar matter.  Once again, keep in mind that these are read-only properties and cannot be changed. 1: // for septuples and below, use the Item properties 2: var t1 = Tuple.Create(42, 3.14); 3:  4: Console.WriteLine("First item is {0} and second is {1}", 5: t1.Item1, t1.Item2); 6:  7: // for octuples and above, use Rest to retrieve nested tuple 8: var t9 = new Tuple<int, int, int, int, int, int, int, 9: Tuple<int, int>>(1,2,3,4,5,6,7,Tuple.Create(8,9)); 10:  11: Console.WriteLine("The 8th item is {0}", t9.Rest.Item1); Tuples are IStructuralComparable and IStructuralEquatable Most of you know about IComparable and IEquatable, what you may not know is that there are two sister interfaces to these that were added in .NET 4.0 to help support tuples.  These IStructuralComparable and IStructuralEquatable make it easy to compare two tuples for equality and ordering.  This is invaluable for sorting, and makes it easy to use tuples as a compound-key to a dictionary (one of my favorite uses)! Why is this so important?  Remember when we said that some folks think tuples are too generic and you should define a custom class?  This is all well and good, but if you want to design a custom class that can automatically order itself based on its members and build a hash code for itself based on its members, it is no longer a trivial task!  Thankfully the tuple does this all for you through the explicit implementations of these interfaces. For equality, two tuples are equal if all elements are equal between the two tuples, that is if t1.Item1 == t2.Item1 and t1.Item2 == t2.Item2, and so on.  For ordering, it's a little more complex in that it compares the two tuples one at a time starting at Item1, and sees which one has a smaller Item1.  If one has a smaller Item1, it is the smaller tuple.  However if both Item1 are the same, it compares Item2 and so on. For example: 1: var t1 = Tuple.Create(1, 3.14, "Hi"); 2: var t2 = Tuple.Create(1, 3.14, "Hi"); 3: var t3 = Tuple.Create(2, 2.72, "Bye"); 4:  5: // true, t1 == t2 because all items are == 6: Console.WriteLine("t1 == t2 : " + t1.Equals(t2)); 7:  8: // false, t1 != t2 because at least one item different 9: Console.WriteLine("t2 == t2 : " + t2.Equals(t3)); The actual implementation of IComparable, IEquatable, IStructuralComparable, and IStructuralEquatable is explicit, so if you want to invoke the methods defined there you'll have to manually cast to the appropriate interface: 1: // true because t1.Item1 < t3.Item1, if had been same would check Item2 and so on 2: Console.WriteLine("t1 < t3 : " + (((IComparable)t1).CompareTo(t3) < 0)); So, as I mentioned, the fact that tuples are automatically equatable and comparable (provided the types you use define equality and comparability as needed) means that we can use tuples for compound keys in hashing and ordering containers like Dictionary and SortedList: 1: var tupleDict = new Dictionary<Tuple<int, double, string>, string>(); 2:  3: tupleDict.Add(t1, "First tuple"); 4: tupleDict.Add(t2, "Second tuple"); 5: tupleDict.Add(t3, "Third tuple"); Because IEquatable defines GetHashCode(), and Tuple's IStructuralEquatable implementation creates this hash code by combining the hash codes of the members, this makes using the tuple as a complex key quite easy!  For example, let's say you are creating account charts for a financial application, and you want to cache those charts in a Dictionary based on the account number and the number of days of chart data (for example, a 1 day chart, 1 week chart, etc): 1: // the account number (string) and number of days (int) are key to get cached chart 2: var chartCache = new Dictionary<Tuple<string, int>, IChart>(); Summary The System.Tuple, like any tool, is best used where it will achieve a greater benefit.  I wouldn't advise overusing them, on objects with a large scope or it can become difficult to maintain.  However, when used properly in a well defined scope they can make your code cleaner and easier to maintain by removing the need for extraneous POCOs and custom property hashing and ordering. They are especially useful in defining compound keys to IDictionary implementations and for returning multiple values from methods, or passing multiple values to a single object parameter. Hi, I am having problems with the google maps API V3. It seems that every time I load my page the maps load (including the markers) and then it does a quick reload and removes all the markers. Am I missing somehting? What am I doing wrong? Here is an example: http://www.PaulPeelen.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/SafariScreenSnapz001.mov this is my code: <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- var hash = "{{$sHashLocal}}"; var webroot = "{{$webroot}}"; var map; function initialize() { var latlng = new google.maps.LatLng(59.32045, 18.066902); var myOptions = { zoom: 13, center: latlng, mapTypeId: google.maps.MapTypeId.ROADMAP }; map = new google.maps.Map(document.getElementById("map_canvas"), myOptions); return map; } function getMarkerInfo (infowindow, rack_id) { // Get all the racks $.ajax({ type: "GET", url: webroot+"ajax/getRack/"+hash+"/"+rack_id, cache: false, dataType: "html", success: function(html) { $("#rack_"+rack_id).html(); infowindow.setContent(html); } }); } $(document).ready(function () { map = initialize(); function attachSecretMessage(marker, rack_id) { var infowindow = new google.maps.InfoWindow({ size: new google.maps.Size(50,50) }); google.maps.event.addListener(marker, 'click', function(){ var ret = '<div id="rack_'+rack_id+'" class="rackDiv"><div class="rackDivLoading"><img src="theme/images/loader-small.gif" border="0"/><span>Hämtar data</span></div></div>'; infowindow.setContent(ret); infowindow.open(map,marker); getMarkerInfo(infowindow,rack_id); }); } function addPlacemark (lat,lng,title, rack_id) { var image = new google.maps.MarkerImage('http://www.google.com/intl/en_us/mapfiles/ms/micons/blue-dot.png', new google.maps.Size(32, 32), new google.maps.Point(0,0), new google.maps.Point(0, 32)); var shadow = new google.maps.MarkerImage('http://maps.google.com/mapfiles/shadow50.png', new google.maps.Size(37, 34), new google.maps.Point(0,0), new google.maps.Point(-4, 34)); var location = new google.maps.LatLng(lat,lng); var marker = new google.maps.Marker({ position: location, map: map, icon: image, shadow: shadow}); marker.setTitle(title); attachSecretMessage(marker, rack_id); } // Get all the racks $.ajax({ type: "GET", url: webroot+"ajax/getRacks/"+hash, cache: false, dataType: "xml", success: function(xml) { // Add the results $(xml).find("station").each(function () { rack_id = $(this).find("rack_id").text(); title = $(this).find("description").text(); longitute = parseFloat($(this).find("longitute").text()); latitude = parseFloat($(this).find("latitude").text()); addPlacemark(latitude, longitute, title, rack_id); }); } }); $("#addMark").click(function () { addPlacemark (59.32045, 18.066902); }); // Set size setPageSize(); }); //--> </script> I hope somebody can help me. • Google App Engine - Secure Cookies

    - by tponthieux
    I'd been searching for a way to do cookie based authentication/sessions in Google App Engine because I don't like the idea of memcache based sessions, and I also don't like the idea of forcing users to create google accounts just to use a website. I stumbled across someone's posting that mentioned some signed cookie functions from the Tornado framework and it looks like what I need. What I have in mind is storing a user's id in a tamper proof cookie, and maybe using a decorator for the request handlers to test the authentication status of the user, and as a side benefit the user id will be available to the request handler for datastore work and such. The concept would be similar to forms authentication in ASP.NET. This code comes from the web.py module of the Tornado framework. According to the docstrings, it "Signs and timestamps a cookie so it cannot be forged" and "Returns the given signed cookie if it validates, or None." I've tried to use it in an App Engine Project, but I don't understand the nuances of trying to get these methods to work in the context of the request handler. Can someone show me the right way to do this without losing the functionality that the FriendFeed developers put into it? The set_secure_cookie, and get_secure_cookie portions are the most important, but it would be nice to be able to use the other methods as well. #!/usr/bin/env python import Cookie import base64 import time import hashlib import hmac import datetime import re import calendar import email.utils import logging def _utf8(s): if isinstance(s, unicode): return s.encode("utf-8") assert isinstance(s, str) return s def _unicode(s): if isinstance(s, str): try: return s.decode("utf-8") except UnicodeDecodeError: raise HTTPError(400, "Non-utf8 argument") assert isinstance(s, unicode) return s def _time_independent_equals(a, b): if len(a) != len(b): return False result = 0 for x, y in zip(a, b): result |= ord(x) ^ ord(y) return result == 0 def cookies(self): """A dictionary of Cookie.Morsel objects.""" if not hasattr(self,"_cookies"): self._cookies = Cookie.BaseCookie() if "Cookie" in self.request.headers: try: self._cookies.load(self.request.headers["Cookie"]) except: self.clear_all_cookies() return self._cookies def _cookie_signature(self,*parts): self.require_setting("cookie_secret","secure cookies") hash = hmac.new(self.application.settings["cookie_secret"], digestmod=hashlib.sha1) for part in parts:hash.update(part) return hash.hexdigest() def get_cookie(self,name,default=None): """Gets the value of the cookie with the given name,else default.""" if name in self.cookies: return self.cookies[name].value return default def set_cookie(self,name,value,domain=None,expires=None,path="/", expires_days=None): """Sets the given cookie name/value with the given options.""" name = _utf8(name) value = _utf8(value) if re.search(r"[\x00-\x20]",name + value): # Don't let us accidentally inject bad stuff raise ValueError("Invalid cookie %r:%r" % (name,value)) if not hasattr(self,"_new_cookies"): self._new_cookies = [] new_cookie = Cookie.BaseCookie() self._new_cookies.append(new_cookie) new_cookie[name] = value if domain: new_cookie[name]["domain"] = domain if expires_days is not None and not expires: expires = datetime.datetime.utcnow() + datetime.timedelta( days=expires_days) if expires: timestamp = calendar.timegm(expires.utctimetuple()) new_cookie[name]["expires"] = email.utils.formatdate( timestamp,localtime=False,usegmt=True) if path: new_cookie[name]["path"] = path def clear_cookie(self,name,path="/",domain=None): """Deletes the cookie with the given name.""" expires = datetime.datetime.utcnow() - datetime.timedelta(days=365) self.set_cookie(name,value="",path=path,expires=expires, domain=domain) def clear_all_cookies(self): """Deletes all the cookies the user sent with this request.""" for name in self.cookies.iterkeys(): self.clear_cookie(name) def set_secure_cookie(self,name,value,expires_days=30,**kwargs): """Signs and timestamps a cookie so it cannot be forged""" timestamp = str(int(time.time())) value = base64.b64encode(value) signature = self._cookie_signature(name,value,timestamp) value = "|".join([value,timestamp,signature]) self.set_cookie(name,value,expires_days=expires_days,**kwargs) def get_secure_cookie(self,name,include_name=True,value=None): """Returns the given signed cookie if it validates,or None""" if value is None:value = self.get_cookie(name) if not value:return None parts = value.split("|") if len(parts) != 3:return None if include_name: signature = self._cookie_signature(name,parts[0],parts[1]) else: signature = self._cookie_signature(parts[0],parts[1]) if not _time_independent_equals(parts[2],signature): logging.warning("Invalid cookie signature %r",value) return None timestamp = int(parts[1]) if timestamp < time.time() - 31 * 86400: logging.warning("Expired cookie %r",value) return None try: return base64.b64decode(parts[0]) except: return None uid=1234|1234567890|d32b9e9c67274fa062e2599fd659cc14 Parts: 1. uid is the name of the key 2. 1234 is your value in clear 3. 1234567890 is the timestamp 4. d32b9e9c67274fa062e2599fd659cc14 is the signature made from the value and the timestamp

  • BasicAuthProvider in ServiceStack

    - by Per
    I've got an issue with the BasicAuthProvider in ServiceStack. POST-ing to the CredentialsAuthProvider (/auth/credentials) is working fine. The problem is that when GET-ing (in Chrome): http://foo:pwd@localhost:81/tag/string/list the following is the result Handler for Request not found: Request.HttpMethod: GET Request.HttpMethod: GET Request.PathInfo: /login Request.QueryString: System.Collections.Specialized.NameValueCollection Request.RawUrl: /login?redirect=http%3a%2f%2flocalhost%3a81%2ftag%2fstring%2flist which tells me that it redirected me to /login instead of serving the /tag/... request. Here's the entire code for my AppHost: public class AppHost : AppHostHttpListenerBase, IMessageSubscriber { private ITagProvider myTagProvider; private IMessageSender mySender; private const string UserName = "foo"; private const string Password = "pwd"; public AppHost( TagConfig config, IMessageSender sender ) : base( "BM App Host", typeof( AppHost ).Assembly ) { myTagProvider = new TagProvider( config ); mySender = sender; } public class CustomUserSession : AuthUserSession { public override void OnAuthenticated( IServiceBase authService, IAuthSession session, IOAuthTokens tokens, System.Collections.Generic.Dictionary<string, string> authInfo ) { authService.RequestContext.Get<IHttpRequest>().SaveSession( session ); } } public override void Configure( Funq.Container container ) { Plugins.Add( new MetadataFeature() ); container.Register<BeyondMeasure.WebAPI.Services.Tags.ITagProvider>( myTagProvider ); container.Register<IMessageSender>( mySender ); Plugins.Add( new AuthFeature( () => new CustomUserSession(), new AuthProvider[] { new CredentialsAuthProvider(), //HTML Form post of UserName/Password credentials new BasicAuthProvider(), //Sign-in with Basic Auth } ) ); container.Register<ICacheClient>( new MemoryCacheClient() ); var userRep = new InMemoryAuthRepository(); container.Register<IUserAuthRepository>( userRep ); string hash; string salt; new SaltedHash().GetHashAndSaltString( Password, out hash, out salt ); // Create test user userRep.CreateUserAuth( new UserAuth { Id = 1, DisplayName = "DisplayName", Email = "[email protected]", UserName = UserName, FirstName = "FirstName", LastName = "LastName", PasswordHash = hash, Salt = salt, }, Password ); } } Could someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong with either the SS configuration or how I am calling the service, i.e. why does it not accept the supplied user/pwd? • How do I convert Data::Dumper output back into a Perl data structure?

    - by newbee_me
    Hi all! I was wondering if you could shed some lights regarding the code I've been doing for a couple of days. I've been trying to convert a Perl-parsed hash back to XML using the XMLout() and XMLin() method and it has been quite successful with this format. #!/usr/bin/perl -w use strict; # use module use IO::File; use XML::Simple; use XML::Dumper; use Data::Dumper; my $dump = new XML::Dumper; my ( $data, $VAR1 ); Topology:$VAR1 = { 'device' => { 'FOC1047Z2SZ' => { 'ChassisID' => '2009-09', 'Error' => undef, 'Group' => { 'ID' => 'A1', 'Type' => 'Base' }, 'Model' => 'CATALYST', 'Name' => 'CISCO-SW1', 'Neighbor' => {}, 'ProbedIP' => 'TEST', 'isDerived' => 0 } }, 'issues' => [ 'TEST' ] }; # create object my $xml = new XML::Simple (NoAttr=>1, RootName=>'data', SuppressEmpty => 'true'); # convert Perl array ref into XML document $data = $xml->XMLout($VAR1); #reads an XML file my $X_out = $xml->XMLin($data); # access XML data print Dumper($data); print "STATUS: $X_out->{issues}\n"; print "CHASSIS ID: $X_out->{device}{ChassisID}\n"; print "GROUP ID: $X_out->{device}{Group}{ID}\n"; print "DEVICE NAME: $X_out->{device}{Name}\n"; print "DEVICE NAME: $X_out->{device}{name}\n"; print "ERROR: $X_out->{device}{error}\n"; I can access all the element in the XML with no problem. But when I try to create a file that will house the parsed hash, problem arises because I can't seem to access all the XML elements. I guess, I wasn't able to unparse the file with the following code. #!/usr/bin/perl -w use strict; #!/usr/bin/perl # use module use IO::File; use XML::Simple; use XML::Dumper; use Data::Dumper; my $dump = new XML::Dumper; my ( $data, $VAR1, $line_Holder ); #this is the file that contains the parsed hash my $saveOut = "C:/parsed_hash.txt"; my $result_Holder = IO::File->new($saveOut, 'r'); while ($line_Holder = $result_Holder->getline){ print $line_Holder; } # create object my $xml = new XML::Simple (NoAttr=>1, RootName=>'data', SuppressEmpty => 'true'); # convert Perl array ref into XML document $data = $xml->XMLout($line_Holder); #reads an XML file my $X_out = $xml->XMLin($data); # access XML data print Dumper($data); print "STATUS: $X_out->{issues}\n"; print "CHASSIS ID: $X_out->{device}{ChassisID}\n"; print "GROUP ID: $X_out->{device}{Group}{ID}\n"; print "DEVICE NAME: $X_out->{device}{Name}\n"; print "DEVICE NAME: $X_out->{device}{name}\n"; print "ERROR: $X_out->{device}{error}\n"; Do you have any idea how I could access the $VAR1 inside the text file? • AJAX Password Change without Refresh

    - by Richard
    I'm trying to implement password change functionality into my website. I've got all the password changing script, validation, etc done. But now I need to prevent the page from going to the script page or refreshing. When the user clicks the submit button, I want nothing to change except a message displaying successfully changed or error. So here's my html: <form id="change_Pass" action="" method="post"> Current Password<input type="password" id="change_password" name="change_password"><br> New Password<input type="password" id="new_password" name="new_password"><br> Verify Password<input type="password" id="verify_password" name="verify_password"><br> <input type="submit" value="Submit" id="change_pass_submit"> </form> And my jquery: $('#change_pass_submit').click(function(){ var $this = $(this); $.ajax({ data: $this.serialize(), // get the form data type: "POST", // GET or POST url: "/Private/change_password.php", // the file to call success: function() { // on success.. //$('#success_div).html(response); // update the DIV alert("good"); }, error: function() { // on error.. //$('#error_div).html(e); // update the DIV alert("bad"); } }); return false; //so it doesn't refresh when submitting the page }); And my php: <?php session_start(); require_once '../classes/Bcrypt.php'; ini_set('display_errors', 'On'); error_reporting(E_ALL | E_STRICT); $usr = $_SESSION["username"]; $old_pwd = $_POST["change_password"]; $new_pwd = $_POST["new_password"]; $new_pwd = Bcrypt::hash($new_pwd); try { $link = new PDO('mysql:host=*;dbname=*;charset=UTF-8','*','*'); $query = "SELECT * FROM Conference WHERE Username = :un"; $stmt = $link->prepare($query); $stmt->bindParam(':un', $usr); $stmt->execute(); $row = $stmt->fetchAll(); $hash = $row[0]["Password"]; $is_correct = Bcrypt::check($old_pwd, $hash); if($is_correct) { $query = "UPDATE Conference SET `Password`=:new_pwd WHERE Username = :usr"; $stmt = $link->prepare($query); $stmt->bindParam(':new_pwd', $new_pwd); $stmt->bindParam(':usr', $usr); $stmt->execute(); return true; } else return false; } catch(PDOException $e) { print "Error!: " . $e->getMessage() . "<br/>"; die(); } But for some reason, when I hit the submit button, the page STILL goes to change_password.php. I have no idea why, i've looked at so many tutorials and my code matches theirs but for some reason mine won't stay on the same page. Where did I go wrong?

  • Random Complete System Unresponsiveness Running Mathematical Functions

    - by Computer Guru
    I have a program that loads a file (anywhere from 10MB to 5GB) a chunk at a time (ReadFile), and for each chunk performs a set of mathematical operations (basically calculates the hash). After calculating the hash, it stores info about the chunk in an STL map (basically <chunkID, hash>) and then writes the chunk itself to another file (WriteFile). That's all it does. This program will cause certain PCs to choke and die. The mouse begins to stutter, the task manager takes 2 min to show, ctrl+alt+del is unresponsive, running programs are slow.... the works. I've done literally everything I can think of to optimize the program, and have triple-checked all objects. What I've done: Tried different (less intensive) hashing algorithms. Switched all allocations to nedmalloc instead of the default new operator Switched from stl::map to unordered_set, found the performance to still be abysmal, so I switched again to Google's dense_hash_map. Converted all objects to store pointers to objects instead of the objects themselves. Caching all Read and Write operations. Instead of reading a 16k chunk of the file and performing the math on it, I read 4MB into a buffer and read 16k chunks from there instead. Same for all write operations - they are coalesced into 4MB blocks before being written to disk. Run extensive profiling with Visual Studio 2010, AMD Code Analyst, and perfmon. Set the thread priority to THREAD_MODE_BACKGROUND_BEGIN Set the thread priority to THREAD_PRIORITY_IDLE Added a Sleep(100) call after every loop. Even after all this, the application still results in a system-wide hang on certain machines under certain circumstances. Perfmon and Process Explorer show minimal CPU usage (with the sleep), no constant reads/writes from disk, few hard pagefaults (and only ~30k pagefaults in the lifetime of the application on a 5GB input file), little virtual memory (never more than 150MB), no leaked handles, no memory leaks. The machines I've tested it on run Windows XP - Windows 7, x86 and x64 versions included. None have less than 2GB RAM, though the problem is always exacerbated under lower memory conditions. I'm at a loss as to what to do next. I don't know what's causing it - I'm torn between CPU or Memory as the culprit. CPU because without the sleep and under different thread priorities the system performances changes noticeably. Memory because there's a huge difference in how often the issue occurs when using unordered_set vs Google's dense_hash_map. What's really weird? Obviously, the NT kernel design is supposed to prevent this sort of behavior from ever occurring (a user-mode application driving the system to this sort of extreme poor performance!?)..... but when I compile the code and run it on OS X or Linux (it's fairly standard C++ throughout) it performs excellently even on poor machines with little RAM and weaker CPUs. What am I supposed to do next? How do I know what the hell it is that Windows is doing behind the scenes that's killing system performance, when all the indicators are that the application itself isn't doing anything extreme? Any advice would be most welcome.

  • (PHP) User is being forced to RE-LOGIN after trying to do something on an admin page

    - by hatorade
    I have created an admin panel for a client in PHP, which requires a login. Here is the code at the top of the admin page requiring the user to be logged in: admin.php <?php session_start(); require("_lib/session_functions.php"); require("_lib/db.php"); db_connect(); //if the user has not logged in if(!isLoggedIn()) { header('Location: login_form.php'); die(); } ?> Obviously, the if statement is what catches them and forces them to log in. Here is the code on the resulting login page: login_form.php <form name="login" action="login.php" method="post"> Username: <input type="text" name="username" /> Password: <input type="password" name="password" /> <input type="submit" value="Login" /> </form> Which posts info to this controller page: login.php <?php session_start(); //must call session_start before using any $_SESSION variables include '_lib/session_functions.php'; $username = $_POST['username']; $password = $_POST['password']; include '_lib/db.php'; db_connect(); // Connect to the DB $username = mysql_real_escape_string($username); $query = "SELECT password, salt FROM users WHERE username = '$username';"; $result = mysql_query($query); if(mysql_num_rows($result) < 1) //no such user exists { header('Location: login_form.php?login=fail'); die(); } $userData = mysql_fetch_array($result, MYSQL_ASSOC); db_disconnect(); $hash = hash('sha256', $password . $userData['salt']); if($hash != $userData['password']) //incorrect password { header('Location: login_form.php?login=fail'); die(); } else { validateUser(); //sets the session data for this user } header('Location: admin.php'); ?> and the session functions page that provides login functions contains this: session_functions.php <?php function validateUser() { session_regenerate_id (); //this is a security measure $_SESSION['valid'] = 1; $_SESSION['userid'] = $username; } function isLoggedIn() { if($_SESSION['valid']) return true; return false; } function logout() { $_SESSION = array(); //destroy all of the session variables if (ini_get("session.use_cookies")) { $params = session_get_cookie_params(); setcookie(session_name(), '', time() - 42000, $params["path"], $params["domain"], $params["secure"], $params["httponly"] ); } session_destroy(); } ?> I grabbed the sessions_functions.php code of an online tutorial, so it could be suspicious. Any ideas why the user logs in to the admin panel, tries to do something, is forced to re-login, and THEN is allowed to do stuff like normal in the admin panel?

  • Can I retrieve objects from a complex query that limits results to fields from a single table?

    - by Sean Redmond
    I have a model whose rows I always want to sort based on the values in another associated model and I was thinking that the way to implement this would be to use set_dataset in the model. This is causing query results to be returned as hashes rather than objects, though, so none of the methods from the class can be used when iterating over the dataset. I basically have two classes class SortFields < Sequel::Model(:sort_fields) set_primary_key :objectid end class Items < Sequel::Model(:items) set_primary_key :objectid one_to_one :sort_fields, :class => SortFields, :key => :objectid end Some backstory: the data is imported from a legacy system into mysql. The values in sort_fields are calculated from multiple other associated tables (some one-to-many, some many-to-many) according to some complicated rules. The likely solution will be to just add the values in sort_fields to items (I want to keep the imported data separate from the calculated data, but I don't have to). First, though, I just want to understand how far you can go with a dataset and still get objects rather than hashes. If I set the dataset to sort on a field in items like so class Items < Sequel::Model(:items) set_primary_key :objectid one_to_one :sort_fields, :class => SortFields, :key => :objectid set_dataset(order(:sortnumber)) end then the expected clause is added to the generated SQL, e.g.: >> Items.limit(1).sql => "SELECT * FROM `items` ORDER BY `sortnumber` LIMIT 1" and queries still return objects: >> Items.limit(1).first.class => Items If I order it by the associated fields though... class Items < Sequel::Model(:items) set_primary_key :objectid one_to_one :sort_fields, :class => SortFields, :key => :objectid set_dataset( eager_graph(:sort_fields). order(:sort1, :sort2, :sort3) ) end ...I get hashes ?> Items.limit(1).first.class => Hash My first thought was that this happens because all fields from sort_fields are included in the results and maybe if selected only the fields from items I would get Items objects again: class Items < Sequel::Model(:items) set_primary_key :objectid one_to_one :sort_fields, :class => SortFields, :key => :objectid set_dataset( eager_graph(:sort_fields). select(:items.*). order(:sort1, :sort2, :sort3) ) end The generated SQL is what I would expect: >> Items.limit(1).sql => "SELECT `items`.* FROM `items` LEFT OUTER JOIN `sort_fields` ON (`sort_fields`.`objectid` = `items`.`objectid`) ORDER BY `sort1`, `sort2`, `sort3` LIMIT 1" It returns the same rows as the set_dataset(order(:sortnumber)) version but it still doesn't work: >> Items.limit(1).first.class => Hash Before I add the sort fields to the items table so that they can all live happily in the same model, is there a way to tell Sequel to return on object when it wants to return a hash?

  • Pygame surface rotation, rect rotation or sprite rotation?

    - by Alan
    i seem to have a conceptual misunderstanding of the surface and rect object in pygame. I currently observe these objects this way: Surface Just the loaded image rect the 'hard' representation of the ingame object (sprite). Used for simplifying object moment and collision detection sprite rect and surface grouped together What i want to do is rotate my sprite. The only available method i found for rotation is pygame.transform.rotate. How do i rotate the rectangle, or even better, the whole sprite? Below is the image of how i visualize this problem.

    The XNA community has been crazy busy again. It always make me fee like such a slacker collecting all of these notes as I see the tremendous output from people all over the world and it’s incredible and humbling. There are some amazingly skilled people working with XNA. On another not, I’m going to take a minute to get on my soapbox and say, if you are developing ANYTHING and are not using some sort of source/revision control, START IMMEDIATELY. This applies to teams of one. Projects for fun. And “I back up my hard drive” or “I use dropbox!” does NOT count as using source control. You’ll be doing yourself a HUGE favor if you find one, learn to use it and integrate it into your everyday workflow. I personally use Subversion. It’s hosted offsite at xp.dev.com and I use TortoiseSVN as my front end to interface with the repository. It’s simple and easy to use and has saved me from myself so many time. Honestly, get setup with some type of source control immediately. If you don’t understand how, grab another developer that does and have them walk you through setup and the basics of using it. Ok, I’m done. • Find Nearest Object

    - by ultifinitus
    I have a fairly sizable game engine created, and I'm adding some needed features, such as this, how do I find the nearest object from a list of points? In this case, I could simply use the Pythagorean theorem to find the distance, and check the results. I know I can't simply add x and y, because that's the distance to the object, if you only took right angle turns. However I'm wondering if there's something else I could do? I also have a collision system, where essentially I turn objects into smaller objects on a smaller grid, kind of like a minimap, and only if objects exist in the same gridspace do I check for collisions, I could do the same thing, only make the gridspace larger to check for closeness. (rather than checking every. single. object) however that would take additional setup in my base class and clutter up the already cluttered object. TL;DR Question: Is there something efficient and accurate that I can use to detect which object is closest, based on a list of points and sizes?

  • Postfix log.... spam attempt?

    - by luri
    I have some weird entries in my mail.log. What I'd like to ask is if postfix is avoiding correctly (according with the main.cf attached below) what seems to be relay attempts, presumably for spamming, or if I can enhance it's security somehow.
