  • C# Image Deskew

    - by Brett
    Has anyone seen any image deskew algorithms in c#? I have found: http://www.codeproject.com/KB/graphics/Deskew_an_Image.aspx but unfortunately, it doesn't do very much for images without text. I am specifically trying to auto deskew an image of a book with solid edges, but minimal text. Has anyone seen anything that may be able to do this?

  • Traverse 2D Array (Matrix) Diagonally

    - by jonobr1
    So I found this thread that was extremely helpful in traversing an array diagonally. I'm stuck though on mirroring it. For example: var m = 3; var n = 4; var a = new Array(); var b = 0; for(var i = 0; i < m; i++) { a[i] = new Array(n); for(var j = 0; j < n; j++) { a[i][j] = b; b++; } } for (var i = 0; i < m + n - 1; i++) { var z1 = (i < n) ? 0 : i - n + 1; var z2 = (i < m) ? 0 : i - m + 1; for (var j = i - z2; j >= z1; j--) { console.log(a[j][i - j]); } } Console reads [[0],[4,1],[8,5,2],[9,6,3],[10,7],[11]] I'd like it to read [[8],[4,9],[0,5,10],[1,6,11],[2,7],[3]] Been stumped for awhile, it's like a rubik's cube _<

  • Using html5 localstorage to retrieve data from server, to allow editing of and appending to data sou

    - by Adam
    So, I'm creating a standard user-data collection form that will be used by standard web browsers, as well as the iPhone and iPad. The app will allow users to create new records, as well as edit and delete existing records. I've gotten the gist of using html5's 'localstorage' to create a client-side data source and am looking for direction for getting existing data from a server into a client-side data source, and then being able to edit or delete that data, or to append a new record to the existing data. Finally, being able to save the updated data back to the server. It sounds like a lot, I know. But I've been pouring through html5 tuts and can't seem to find exactly what I'm looking for.

  • String.split() method bug in GWT 2.0.3

    - by Domchi
    I'm upgrading a GWT project from GWT 1.7.1 to currently newest version 2.0.3. It seems that new GWT broke String.split(String regex) method - I get the following error on the Javascript side: this$static is undefined This happens in this line of my .nocache.js file: if (maxMatch == 0 && this$static.length > 0) { ...which happens to be a part of String split method equivalent in Javascript. Is there a cure for this, apart from doing string splitting myself?

  • Co-ordinates of a element in a pdf file using iText

    - by Arun P Johny
    Hi all, I'm creating a pdf file using BIRT reporting library. Later I need to digitally sign these files. I'm using iText to digitally sign the document. The issue I'm facing is, I need to place the signature in different places in different reports. I already have the code to digitally sign the document, now I'm always placing the signature at the bottom of last page in every report. Eventually I need each report to say where I need to place the signature. Then I've to read the location using iText and then place the signature at that location. Is this possible to achieve using BIRT and iText Thanks

  • manipulate objects outside svg with javascript-function inside the svg

    - by Christian Benke
    Hello! I'm embedding a svg-graphic on my website and i'd like to manipulate the rest of the website with javascript-commands which are in the svg - though i'm not sure if this is possible. Let me elaborate: I've got a worldmap in svg, i want to click on a country and this click should run an ajax-call and load relevant information of this country into a div in the html site where the svg is embedded. "onclick="location.href='xxx'"" redirects to the respective site which is fine, but i'd prefer to run a js-function that fetches the site with ajax - but running a javascript-function in the svg only seems to work for functions and elements defined in the svg, not outside of it. Is it basically possible to manipulate anything outside the svg through a js-function in the svg? How? Regards Christian

  • List<T>.SelectMany(), Linq and lambda help

    - by jim
    Hi there I have a class. public class MedicalRequest { private int id private IList<MedicalDays> Days private string MedicalUser ... } and another public class MedicalDays { private int id; private DateTime? day private MedicalRequest request ... } I'm using nhibernate to return a list of all the MedicalDays within a time span. I'd like to do something like this to the resulting list //nhibernate query IList<MedicalDays> days = daysDao.FindAll(searchCritCollection); //select a list of days from resulting list IEnumerable<MedicalDays> queriedList = days.SelectMany(i => i.MedicalRequest.MedicalUser == employee); Linq tells me that the type cannot be inferred by the usage. I'd like to know what I'm doing wrong, and if there is a preferred way of doing something like this. Thanks for your time.

  • Regex: replace inner string

    - by AllenG
    I'm working with X12 EDI Files (Specifialy 835s for those of you in Health Care), and I have a particular vendor who's using a non-HIPAA compliant version (3090, I think). The problem is that in a particular segment (PLB- again, for those who care) they're sending a code which is no longer supported by the HIPAA Standard. I need to locate the specific code, and update it with a corrected code. I think a Regex would be best for this, but I'm still very new to Regex, and I'm not sure where to begin. My current methodology is to turn the file into an array of strings, find the array that starts with "PLB", break that into an array of strings, find the code, and change it. As you can guess, that's very verbose code for something which should be (I'd think) fairly simple. Here's a sample of what I'm looking for: ~PLB|1902841224|20100228|49KC15X078001104|.08~ And here's what I want to change it to: ~PLB|1902841224|20100228|CSKC15X078001104|.08~ Any suggestions?

  • BASH statements execute alone but return "no such file" in for loop.

    - by reve_etrange
    Another one I can't find an answer for, and it feels like I've gone mad. I have a BASH script using a for loop to run a complex command (many protein sequence alignments) on a lot of files (~5000). The loop produces statements that will execute when given alone (i.e. copy-pasted from the error message to the command prompt), but which return "no such file or directory" inside the loop. Script below; there are actually several more arguments but this includes some representative ones and the file arguments. #!/bin/bash # Pass directory with targets as FASTA sequences as argument. # Arguments to psiblast # Common db=local/db/nr/nr outfile="/mnt/scratch/psi-blast" e=0.001 threads=8 itnum=5 pssm="/mnt/scratch/psi-blast/pssm." pssm_txt="/mnt/scratch/psi-blast/pssm." pseudo=0 pwa_inclusion=0.002 for i in ${1}/* do filename=$(basename $i) "local/ncbi-blast-2.2.23+/bin/psiblast\ -query ${i}\ -db $db\ -out ${outfile}/${filename}.out\ -evalue $e\ -num_threads $threads\ -num_iterations $itnum\ -out_pssm ${pssm}$filename\ -out_ascii_pssm ${pssm_txt}${filename}.txt\ -pseudocount $pseudo\ -inclusion_ethresh $pwa_inclusion" done Running this scripts gives "<scriptname> line <last line before 'done'>: <attempted command> : No such file or directory. If I then paste the attempted command onto the prompt it will run. Each of these commands takes a couple of minutes to run.

  • Image cropping in PHP is producing blank result

    - by thinkswan
    I'm simply trying to crop a JPEG image (no scaling) using PHP. Here is my function, along with the inputs. function cropPicture($imageLoc, $width, $height, $x1, $y1) { $newImage = imagecreatetruecolor($width, $height); $source = imagecreatefromjpeg($imageLoc); imagecopyresampled($newImage,$source,0,0,$x1,$y1,$width,$height,$width,$height); imagejpeg($newImage,$imageLoc,90); } When I call it as follows--cropPicture('image.jpg', 300, 300, 0, 0)--the function completes properly, but I'm left with a black image that is 300x300 px (in other words, a blank canvas). Am I passing in the wrong arguments? The image exists and is writeable.

  • Attempting to extract a pattern within a string

    - by Brian
    I'm attempting to extract a given pattern within a text file, however, the results are not 100% what I want. Here's my code: import java.util.regex.Matcher; import java.util.regex.Pattern; public class ParseText1 { public static void main(String[] args) { String content = "<p>Yada yada yada <code> foo ddd</code>yada yada ...\n" + "more here <2004-08-24> bar<Bob Joe> etc etc\n" + "more here again <2004-09-24> bar<Bob Joe> <Fred Kej> etc etc\n" + "more here again <2004-08-24> bar<Bob Joe><Fred Kej> etc etc\n" + "and still more <2004-08-21><2004-08-21> baz <John Doe> and now <code>the end</code> </p>\n"; Pattern p = Pattern .compile("<[1234567890]{4}-[1234567890]{2}-[1234567890]{2}>.*?<[^%0-9/]*>", Pattern.MULTILINE); Matcher m = p.matcher(content); // print all the matches that we find while (m.find()) { System.out.println(m.group()); } } } The output I'm getting is: <2004-08-24> bar<Bob Joe> <2004-09-24> bar<Bob Joe> <Fred Kej> <2004-08-24> bar<Bob Joe><Fred Kej> <2004-08-21><2004-08-21> baz <John Doe> and now <code> The output I want is: <2004-08-24> bar<Bob Joe> <2004-08-24> bar<Bob Joe> <2004-08-24> bar<Bob Joe> <2004-08-21> baz <John Doe> In short, the sequence of "date", "text (or blank)", and "name" must be extracted. Everything else should be avoided. For example the tag "Fred Kej" did not have any "date" tag before it, therefore, it should be flagged as invalid. Also, as a side question, is there a way to store or track the text snippets that were skipped/rejected as were the valid texts. Thanks, Brian

  • How to find first non-repetitive character from a string?

    - by masato-san
    I've spent half day trying to figure out this and finally I got working solution. However, I feel like this can be done in simpler way. I think this code is not really readable. Problem: Find first non-repetitive character from a string. $string = "abbcabz" In this case, the function should output "c". The reason I use concatenation instead of $input[index_to_remove] = '' in order to remove character from a given string is because if I do that, it actually just leave empty cell so that my return value $input[0] does not not return the character I want to return. For instance, $str = "abc"; $str[0] = ''; echo $str; This will output "bc" But actually if I test, var_dump($str); it will give me: string(3) "bc" Here is my intention: Given: input while first char exists in substring of input { get index_to_remove input = chars left of index_to_remove . chars right of index_to_remove if dupe of first char is not found from substring remove first char from input } return first char of input Code: function find_first_non_repetitive2($input) { while(strpos(substr($input, 1), $input[0]) !== false) { $index_to_remove = strpos(substr($input,1), $input[0]) + 1; $input = substr($input, 0, $index_to_remove) . substr($input, $index_to_remove + 1); if(strpos(substr($input, 1), $input[0]) == false) { $input = substr($input, 1); } } return $input[0]; }

  • String Manipultation - Get String between two other Strings?

    - by Ben
    I have a large piece of text in which there is something simular to this: !#_KT_#!COMMANDHERE!#_KT_#! I want, in VB.Net, to get the 'COMMANDHERE' part of the string, how would I go about doing this? I have this so far: Dim temp As String = WebBrowser1.Document.Body.ToString Dim startIndex As Integer = temp.IndexOf("!#__KT__#!") + 1 Dim endIndex As Integer = temp.IndexOf("!#__KT__#!", startIndex) Dim extraction As String = temp.Substring(startIndex, endIndex - startIndex).Trim TextBox1.Text = extraction However this only removes the LAST string eg: #_KT_#! COMMAND. Any help is appreciated!

  • Perl unpack in list context

    - by drewk
    A common 'Perlism' is generating a list as something to loop over in this form: for($str=~/./g) { print "the next character from \"$str\"=$_\n"; } In this case the global match regex returns a list that is one character in turn from the string $str, and assigns that value to $_ Instead of a regex, split can be used in the same way or 'a'..'z', map, etc. I am investigating unpack to generate a field by field interpretation of a string. I have always found unpack to be less straightforward to the way my brain works, and I have never really dug that deeply into it. As a simple case, I want to generate a list that is one character in each element from a string using unpack (yes -- I know I can do it with split(//,$str) and /./g but I really want to see if unpack can be used this way...) Obviously, I can use a field list for unpack that is unpack("A1" x length($str), $str) but is there some other way that kinda looks like globbing? ie, can I call unpack(some_format,$str) either in list context or in a loop such that unpack will return the next group of character in the format group until $str is exausted? I have read The Perl 5.12 Pack pod and the Perl 5.12 pack tutorial and the Perkmonks tutorial Here is the sample code: #!/usr/bin/perl use warnings; use strict; my $str=join('',('a'..'z', 'A'..'Z')); #the alphabet... $str=~s/(.{1,3})/$1 /g; #...in groups of three print "str=$str\n\n"; for ($str=~/./g) { print "regex: = $_\n"; } for(split(//,$str)) { print "split: \$_=$_\n"; } for(unpack("A1" x length($str), $str)) { print "unpack: \$_=$_\n"; }

  • Check if a String is a double or an int?

    - by user69514
    I have a string for a Date in the form mm/dd, and I need to check if either the month or day was entered as a double public Date(String dateStr){ int slash = 0; //check slash is present try{ slash = dateStr.indexOf('/'); }catch(StringIndexOutOfBoundsException e){ error = "Invalid date format: " + dateStr; } //check if month is a number try{ month = Integer.parseInt(dateStr.substring(0, slash)); //day = Integer.parseInt(dateStr.substring(slash + 1, dateStr.length())); } catch(NumberFormatException e){ System.out.println("Invalid format for input string: " + dateStr.substring(0, slash)); } //check if day is a number try{ day = Integer.parseInt(dateStr.substring(slash + 1, dateStr.length())); } catch(NumberFormatException e){ System.out.println("Invalid format for input string: " + dateStr.substring(slash + 1, dateStr.length())); } //check if month was entered as a double }

  • List stored functions using a table in PostgreSQL

    - by Paolo B.
    Just a quick and simple question: in PostgreSQL, how do you list the names of all stored functions/stored procedures using a table using just a SELECT statement, if possible? If a simple SELECT is insufficient, I can make do with a stored function. My question, I think, is somewhat similar to this other question, but this other question is for SQL Server 2005: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/119679/list-of-stored-procedure-from-table (optional) For that matter, how do you also list the triggers and constraints that use the same table in the same manner?

  • Image upload and jCrop and codeigniter

    - by sea_1987
    Hi There, I am trying to build a system that allows a user to select an image from their own computer, and crop it using the jCrop tool from jQuery. My question is can I show the image the user has selected from their system without uploading it to a system, I dont really want to do two uploads, unless I can do the first upload silently? Any help would be great. Thank you.

  • Best way to sanitize content with PHP?

    - by Jens Törnell
    Which is the best way to "sanitize" content? An example... Example - Before sanitize: Morbi mollis ante vitae massa suscipit a tempus est pellentesque. Pellentesque habitant morbi tristique senectus et netus et malesuada fames ac turpis egestas. Nulla mattis iaculis consectetur. Morbi mollis ante vitae est pellentesque. Pellentesque habitant morbi tristique senectus et netus et malesuada fames ac turpis egestas. Nulla mattis iaculis consectetur. Example - After sanitize: <p>Morbi mollis ante vitae massa suscipit a tempus est pellentesque. Pellentesque habitant morbi tristique senectus et netus et malesuada fames ac turpis egestas. Nulla mattis iaculis consectetur.</p> <p>Morbi mollis ante vitae est pellentesque. Pellentesque habitant morbi tristique senectus et netus et malesuada fames ac turpis egestas. Nulla mattis iaculis consectetur.</p> What it should do It should add p-tags instead of line break like. It should remove empty space like tripple spaces It should remove double line breaks. It should remove tabs. It should remove line breaks and spaces before the content if any. It should remove line breaks and spaces after the content if any. Right know I use the str_replace function and it should be a better solution for this? I want the function to look like this: function sanitize($content) { // Do the magic! return $content; }

  • Bit reversal of an integer, ignoring integer size and endianness

    - by ??O?????
    Given an integer typedef: typedef unsigned int TYPE; or typedef unsigned long TYPE; I have the following code to reverse the bits of an integer: TYPE max_bit= (TYPE)-1; void reverse_int_setup() { TYPE bits= (TYPE)max_bit; while (bits <<= 1) max_bit= bits; } TYPE reverse_int(TYPE arg) { TYPE bit_setter= 1, bit_tester= max_bit, result= 0; for (result= 0; bit_tester; bit_tester>>= 1, bit_setter<<= 1) if (arg & bit_tester) result|= bit_setter; return result; } One just needs first to run reverse_int_setup(), which stores an integer with the highest bit turned on, then any call to reverse_int(arg) returns arg with its bits reversed (to be used as a key to a binary tree, taken from an increasing counter, but that's more or less irrelevant). Is there a platform-agnostic way to have in compile-time the correct value for max_int after the call to reverse_int_setup(); Otherwise, is there an algorithm you consider better/leaner than the one I have for reverse_int()? Thanks.

  • How do you handle the fetchxml result data?

    - by Luke Baulch
    I have avoided working with fetchxml as I have been unsure the best way to handle the result data after calling crmService.Fetch(fetchXml). In a couple of situations, I have used an XDocument with LINQ to retrieve the data from this data structure, such as: XDocument resultset = XDocument.Parse(_service.Fetch(fetchXml)); if (resultset.Root == null || !resultset.Root.Elements("result").Any()) { return; } foreach (var displayItem in resultset.Root.Elements("result").Select(item => item.Element(displayAttributeName)).Distinct()) { if (displayItem!= null && displayItem.Value != null) { dropDownList.Items.Add(displayItem.Value); } } What is the best way to handle fetchxml result data, so that it can be easily used. Applications such as passing these records into an ASP.NET datagrid would be quite useful.

  • Algorithm for analyzing text of words

    - by Click Upvote
    I want an algorithm which would create all possible phrases in a block of text. For example, in the text: "My username is click upvote. I have 4k rep on stackoverflow" It would create the following combinations: "My username" "My Username is" "username is click" "is click" "is click upvote" "click upvote" "i have" "i have 4k" "have 4k" .. You get the idea. Basically the point is to get all possible combinations of 'phrases' out of a sentence. Any thoughts for how to best implement this?
