  • System.AccessViolationException when calling DLL from WCF on IIS.

    - by Wodzu
Hi guys. I've created just a test WCF service in which I need to call an external DLL. Everything works fine under Visutal Studio development server. However, when I try to use my service on IIS I am getting this error: Exception: System.AccessViolationException Message: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt. The stack trace leeds to the call of DLL which is presented below. After a lot of reading and experimenting I am almost sure that the error is caused by wrong passing strings to the called function. Here is how the wrapper for DLL looks like: using System; using System.Runtime.InteropServices; using System.Text; using System; using System.Security; using System.Security.Permissions; using System.Runtime.InteropServices; namespace cdn_api_wodzu { public class cdn_api_wodzu { [DllImport("cdn_api.dll", CharSet=CharSet.Ansi)] // [SecurityPermission(SecurityAction.Assert, Unrestricted = true)] public static extern int XLLogin([In, Out] XLLoginInfo _lLoginInfo, ref int _lSesjaID); } [Serializable, StructLayout(LayoutKind.Sequential)] public class XLLoginInfo { public int Wersja; public int UtworzWlasnaSesje; public int Winieta; public int TrybWsadowy; [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.ByValTStr, SizeConst = 0x29)] public string ProgramID; [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.ByValTStr, SizeConst = 0x15)] public string Baza; [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.ByValTStr, SizeConst = 9)] public string OpeIdent; [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.ByValTStr, SizeConst = 9)] public string OpeHaslo; [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.ByValTStr, SizeConst = 200)] public string PlikLog; [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.ByValTStr, SizeConst = 0x65)] public string SerwerKlucza; public XLLoginInfo() { } } } this is how I call the DLL function: int ErrorID = 0; int SessionID = 0; XLLoginInfo Login; Login = new XLLoginInfo(); Login.Wersja = 18; Login.UtworzWlasnaSesje = 1; Login.Winieta = -1; Login.TrybWsadowy = 1; Login.ProgramID = "TestProgram"; Login.Baza = "TestBase"; Login.OpeIdent = "TestUser"; Login.OpeHaslo = "TestPassword"; Login.PlikLog = "C:\\LogFile.txt"; Login.SerwerKlucza = "MyServ\\MyInstance"; ErrorID = cdn_api_wodzu.cdn_api_wodzu.XLLogin(Login, ref SessionID); When I comment all the string field assigments the function works - it returns me an error message that the program ID has not been given. But when I try to assign a ProgramID (or any other string fields, or all at once) then I am getting the mentioned exception. I am using VS2008 SP.1, WinXP and IIS 5.1. Maybe the ISS itself is a problem? I've tried all the workarounds that has been described here: http://forums.asp.net/t/675515.aspx Thansk for your time. After edit: Installing Windows 2003 Server and IIS 6.0 solved the problem.

  • Keeping up with Technology

    - by kennedysteve
If you're like me, you have a hard time keeping up with all the technologies out there. The reality is there's too many new technologies (languages, methodologies,  tools, etc). One of the ways I try to keep up with everything is by using good ol' RSS feeds in conjunction with Google Reader. Google Reader is both an online aggregator of RSS feeds, and it also has a good companion app on Google Android. The nicest part of Google Reader for me is the "All Listings" view which gives me a reverse chronological view of ALL articles (mixed together) regardless of the actual RSS feed.  This way, I get to see the newest articles first. I can then choose to hide the articles I've viewed, etc. Here is a list of my RSS feeds. Admittedly, some of these are all over the spectrum. But you might find one or two interesting. .NET Rocks! • PHP won't load php.ini

    - by Chuck
I am racking my brain here and I must be doing something really stupid. I'm trying to setup PHP on Win2008 R2/IIS 7.5. I unpacked php538 into c:\php538 and renamed the php.ini-development to php.ini. Then i tried going to a command prompt and running: c:\php358\php -info I get: Configuration File (php.ini) Path => C:\windows Loaded Configuration File => (none)Scan this dir for additional .ini files => (none) Additional .ini files parsed => (none) Loaded Configuration File => (none) Scan this dir for additional .ini files => (none) Additional .ini files parsed => (none) I have tried using php5217. I tried putting php.ini in c:\windows. I tried creating the PHPRC envrionment variable and pointing it to c:\php358. Every time I have the same problem. PHP does not find or load the ini file. If I run: c:\php358\php -c php.ini -info Then it will load the file. But I shouldn't have to do this for PHP to find the file in the same directory, in the Windows directory, or using the environment variable, so I'm stumped. When I try to run PHP from IIS I get a 500 error and I can only assume at this time it is because it can't find and load the php.ini file correctly. I see similar questions on here, but none seem to address the problem I am having.

  • Hosting WCF over internet

    - by user1876804
I am pretty new to exposing the WCF services hosted on IIS over internet. I will be deploying a WCF service over IIS(6 or 7) and would like to expose this service over the internet. This will be hosted in a corporate network having firewall, I want this service to be accessible over the internet(should be able to pass through the firewall) I did some research on this and some of the pointers I got: 1. I could use wsHTTPBinding or nettcpbinding (the client is intended to be .net client). Which of the bindings is preferable. 2. To overcome the corporate I came across DMZ server, what is the purpose of this and do I really need to use this). 3. I will be passing some files between the client and server, and the client needs to know the progress of the processing on server and the end result. I know this is a very broad question to ask, but could anyone give me pointers where I could start on this and what approach to take for this problem.

  • Lookup site column not saving/storing metadata for Office 2007 documents?

    - by Greg Hurlman
I'm having this issue on several server environments. We have a list at the site collection root. There is a site column created as a multi-value lookup on that list's Title field. This site column is used in document libraries in subsites as a required field. When we upload anything but an Office 2007 document, the user is presented with the document metadata fill-in screen (EditForm.aspx?Mode=Upload), the user fills in the appropriate data (including picking a value(s) for this lookup), and clicks "check in" - the document is checked in as expected, with the lookup field's value filled in. With an Office 2007 document, this fails. The user selected values for the lookup field do not ever make it to the server - no errors are thrown, but the field is not saved with the document. We have an event listener on these document libraries, and if we inspect the incoming SPListItem on the event listener method before a single line of our code has run, we see that the value for the lookup field is null. It smells like a SharePoint bug to me - but before I go calling Microsoft, has anyone seen this & worked around it? Edit: the only entry I see in the SP trace logs relating to the problem: CMS/Publishing/8ztg/Medium/Got List Item Version, but item was null

  • Website migration is not working for all computers

    - by Shadowizoo
We got 2 servers on same network, Server-A and Server-B. On Server-A (widows server 2003), we have IIS 5.2 and our website was hosted on it few month ago (about 7-8 months). We bought a new server, Server-B (Windows Server 2008) with IIS 7.5 and copied our old website on this new machine. On our router, we forward the port 80 to Server-B. The Server-A is still on because we need to access some old data by our old website. I would like to access it with it's internal Ip (192.168.1.xxx/mywebsite) On my Windows 7 computer, if I write www.example.com or example.com (without www.), I'm being redirected to Server-B and I can see our new interface. On some Windows Vista computer, example.com (without www.) redirect to Server-B, but if I write www.example.com, I'm still on Server-A. In our website code (on Server-B), we sometimes redirect with a "www." so this is causing some error because we are trying to access a webpage that exist on Server-B but not Server-A and because the www.example I compared 2 computers with Vista Home on them and Internet Options looks the same. I cannot figure why this is happening

  • Couldn't upload files to Sharepoint site while passing through Squid Proxy

    - by Ecio
Hi all, we have this issue: one of our employees is collaborating with a supplier and he needs to upload documents on a Sharepoint site hosted on the supplier's main site. In our environment we use Squid Proxy to allow people navigate on the net (we have NTLM authentication and users transparently authenticate while using IE and FF). It seems that this specific Sharepoint site is using Integrated Windows Authentication only, and according to some research on the net it seems that this can have troubles with proxies. More specifically, we have tried two Squid versions: with Squid 3.0 we are unable to login to the site (the browser loads an empty page) with Squid 2.7 (that supports "Connection Pinning") we are able to login into the site, move on the different sections BUT.. when we try to upload a file that is bigger than a couple of KiloBytes (i.e. 10KB) the browser loads an error page (i think it's a 401 unauthorized but i must verify it) we've tried changing a couple of Squid options (in 2.7), what we got is that when you try to upload the file you got an authentication box (just like the initial login) and it refuses to go on even if you enter the same authentication credentials. What's really strange is that when you try to upload a small file (i.e. a text or binary 1KB file) the upload succeeds. I initially thought that maybe there was something misconfigured on their Sharepoint site but I've tried also this site: www.xsolive.com (it's a sharepoint 2007 demo site) and I've experienced the same problem. Has any of you experienced such behaviour? Thanks! Of course we've suggested to the supplier to activate also Basic+SSL and we're waiting for their reply..

  • VBE6.dll not found when opening Access 2007 database in Access 2010

    - by The Matt
I have an access 2007 database that has some VBA code in it. I need to open this database in Access 2010, but when I first open it I get an error that says: the expression on open you entered as the event property setting produced the following error: file not found: VBE6.dll I believe it's becuase Access 2010 references VBE7.dll when it loads up, and my database was built to reference VBE6.dll. I've tried putting VBE6.dll in the same folder that VBE7.dll resides in, hoping it would just get loaded up, but no luck. What can I do to resolve this?

  • Offset the tickmarks of a secondary axis

    - by Dan
I would like to offset the tickmarks of a secondary axis in excel WITHOUT changing the minimum. Here is a very complicated VBA class that apparently solves the issue but I would like a solution that doesn't require me to construct my entire chart in VBA. Here is an example of what I mean (I removed the chart insides so it looks funny, but really only the axes matter for this question): I am happy with the primary axis on the left. The secondary axis is just the primary axis plus 7.96%, so the secondary axis HAS TO have 0.0796 as a minimum. But I would like my tickmarks to be at nice rounder numbers so I would like to offset the starting point of the secondary axis' tickmarks to only start at 8%. Does anyone know of a way to achieve this? Just to be clear about the VBA, I am happy to use a VBA solution but I don't have the time to actually construct the chart itself in VBA. Using VBA to get a handle on the chart and make the adjustment would be perfect.

  • Why is lassoing ink in OneNote so slow in general? Doesn't anyone care?

    - by GuoLiang Oon
Now I understand that this is especially an (known) issue in the OneNote 2013 preview and that it will probably be fixed in the final release. But lassoing in OneNote 2010 was no sprightly affair either. I'm just perplexed really, why on earth is there such an issue? Is lassoing intrinsically computationally expensive? OneNote would be soooooooooooo much more useful if there's no lasso lag. And doing a laggy lasso on tablet pcs with weak processors is just so much worse. Or do most folks just don't use the lasso feature much? I use it primarily to shrink intermediate calculations for future retrieval.

  • I want to move columns in a gradebook based on the column header title to another gradebook

    - by Pat
I have to average grades based on each objective for a new report card we have to complete this year. For example Column one has students names, each additional column will have the objective associated with the assignment. I would like to move the entire column to another sheet for each objective. Is there a formula or macro that will do that. For example objective 3.1A is in columns 2, 5, and 7, objective 3.2B is located in columns 1, 4, 10, and 12, objective 3.4c is in column 3, 6, 9, and 11. I would like to have a spreadsheet for each objective.

  • How can I split Excel data from one row into multiple rows

    - by Lenny
    Good afternoon, Is there a way to split data from one row and store to separate rows? I have a large file that contains scheduling information and I'm trying to develop a list that comprises each combination of course, day, term and period per line. For example I have a file similiar to this: Crs:Sn Title Tchr TchrName Room Days Terms Periods 7014:01 English I 678 JUNG 300 M,T,W,R,F 3,4 2,3 1034:02 English II 123 MOORE 352 M,T,W,R,F 3 4 7144:02 Algebra 238 VYSOTSKY 352 M,T,W,R,F 3,4 3,4 0180:06 Pub Speaking 23 ROSEN 228 M,T,W,R,F 3,4 5 7200:03 PE I 244 HARILAOU GYM 4 M,T,W,R,F 1,2,3 3 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 M,T,W,R,F 1,2,3,4 2,3 Should extract to this in an excel file: Crs:Sn Title Tchr# Tchr Room Days Terms Period 7014:01 English I 678 JUNG 300 M 3 2 7014:01 English I 678 JUNG 300 T 3 2 7014:01 English I 678 JUNG 300 W 3 2 7014:01 English I 678 JUNG 300 R 3 2 7014:01 English I 678 JUNG 300 F 3 2 7014:01 English I 678 JUNG 300 M 4 2 7014:01 English I 678 JUNG 300 T 4 2 7014:01 English I 678 JUNG 300 W 4 2 7014:01 English I 678 JUNG 300 R 4 2 7014:01 English I 678 JUNG 300 F 4 2 7014:01 English I 678 JUNG 300 M 3 3 7014:01 English I 678 JUNG 300 T 3 3 7014:01 English I 678 JUNG 300 W 3 3 7014:01 English I 678 JUNG 300 R 3 3 7014:01 English I 678 JUNG 300 F 3 3 7014:01 English I 678 JUNG 300 M 4 3 7014:01 English I 678 JUNG 300 T 4 3 7014:01 English I 678 JUNG 300 W 4 3 7014:01 English I 678 JUNG 300 R 4 3 7014:01 English I 678 JUNG 300 F 4 3 1034:02 English II 123 MOORE 352 M 3 4 1034:02 English II 123 MOORE 352 T 3 4 1034:02 English II 123 MOORE 352 W 3 4 1034:02 English II 123 MOORE 352 R 3 4 1034:02 English II 123 MOORE 352 F 3 4 7144:02 Algebra 238 VYSOTSKY 352 M 3 3 7144:02 Algebra 238 VYSOTSKY 352 T 3 3 7144:02 Algebra 238 VYSOTSKY 352 W 3 3 7144:02 Algebra 238 VYSOTSKY 352 R 3 3 7144:02 Algebra 238 VYSOTSKY 352 F 3 3 7144:02 Algebra 238 VYSOTSKY 352 M 4 3 7144:02 Algebra 238 VYSOTSKY 352 T 4 3 7144:02 Algebra 238 VYSOTSKY 352 W 4 3 7144:02 Algebra 238 VYSOTSKY 352 R 4 3 7144:02 Algebra 238 VYSOTSKY 352 F 4 3 7144:02 Algebra 238 VYSOTSKY 352 M 3 4 7144:02 Algebra 238 VYSOTSKY 352 T 3 4 7144:02 Algebra 238 VYSOTSKY 352 W 3 4 7144:02 Algebra 238 VYSOTSKY 352 R 3 4 7144:02 Algebra 238 VYSOTSKY 352 F 3 4 7144:02 Algebra 238 VYSOTSKY 352 M 4 4 7144:02 Algebra 238 VYSOTSKY 352 T 4 4 7144:02 Algebra 238 VYSOTSKY 352 W 4 4 7144:02 Algebra 238 VYSOTSKY 352 R 4 4 7144:02 Algebra 238 VYSOTSKY 352 F 4 4 0180:06 Pub Speaking 23 ROSEN 228 M 3 5 0180:06 Pub Speaking 23 ROSEN 228 T 3 5 0180:06 Pub Speaking 23 ROSEN 228 W 3 5 0180:06 Pub Speaking 23 ROSEN 228 R 3 5 0180:06 Pub Speaking 23 ROSEN 228 F 3 5 0180:06 Pub Speaking 23 ROSEN 228 M 4 5 0180:06 Pub Speaking 23 ROSEN 228 T 4 5 0180:06 Pub Speaking 23 ROSEN 228 W 4 5 0180:06 Pub Speaking 23 ROSEN 228 R 4 5 0180:06 Pub Speaking 23 ROSEN 228 F 4 5 7200:03 PE I 244 HARILAOU GYM 4 M 1 3 7200:03 PE I 244 HARILAOU GYM 4 M 2 3 7200:03 PE I 244 HARILAOU GYM 4 M 3 3 7200:03 PE I 244 HARILAOU GYM 4 T 1 3 7200:03 PE I 244 HARILAOU GYM 4 T 2 3 7200:03 PE I 244 HARILAOU GYM 4 T 3 3 7200:03 PE I 244 HARILAOU GYM 4 W 1 3 7200:03 PE I 244 HARILAOU GYM 4 W 2 3 7200:03 PE I 244 HARILAOU GYM 4 W 3 3 7200:03 PE I 244 HARILAOU GYM 4 R 1 3 7200:03 PE I 244 HARILAOU GYM 4 R 2 3 7200:03 PE I 244 HARILAOU GYM 4 R 3 3 7200:03 PE I 244 HARILAOU GYM 4 F 1 3 7200:03 PE I 244 HARILAOU GYM 4 F 2 3 7200:03 PE I 244 HARILAOU GYM 4 F 3 3 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 M 1 2 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 M 2 2 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 M 3 2 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 M 4 2 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 T 1 2 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 T 2 2 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 T 3 2 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 T 4 2 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 W 1 2 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 W 2 2 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 W 3 2 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 W 4 2 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 R 1 2 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 R 2 2 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 R 3 2 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 R 4 2 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 F 1 2 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 F 2 2 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 F 3 2 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 F 4 2 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 M 1 3 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 M 2 3 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 M 3 3 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 M 4 3 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 T 1 3 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 T 2 3 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 T 3 3 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 T 4 3 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 W 1 3 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 W 2 3 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 W 3 3 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 W 4 3 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 R 1 3 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 R 2 3 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 R 3 3 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 R 4 3 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 F 1 3 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 F 2 3 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 F 3 3 2101:01 Physics/Lab 441 JONES 348 F 4 3 I'm trying to avoid going line by line separating the data. • PowerPoint '10 avoid animation completion on click & advance slide or start new one

    - by ScottS
Scenario I have PowerPoint 2010 On the "Transitions" tab the "Advance Slide On Mouse Click" check box is checked. I have a long, slow, timed, non-repeating animation working in the background of the slide. I click to advance the slide before the animation is finished, but ... Instead of advancing the slide, the animation moves to the completed state ... Forcing a second click to actually advance the slide. Additionally If I have other animations on the slide that are initiated by a click, the long animation also advances to a finished state before starting the new animation. Desired Behavior On click, I want the slide to advance or the next on-click animation to start whether the long animation is done or not, and without having that long animation first "complete" itself. In the case of another animation, I simply want the long animation to continue, while also doing the new animation. Ultimate Question Is there a way to either: Set an option somewhere to not have that animation complete on click and simply "continue" to animate with the start of a new animation or to advance the slide (as the case may be)? Create a VBA script that will produce the desired behavior for the long animation?

  • Help with Ms Access 2007 Combo boxes

    - by Yaaqov
What's the most efficient way to "chain" combo/boxes in an Access 2007 form, so that the result of the first affected the contents of the second? I already know how to associate a combo box on a form with a query. Here's a example of my scenario: cmbCarMake Behavior: User starts typing, and list shows all manufacturers in a table starting with those characters (e.g., "Ford") cmbCarModel Behavior: Once cmbCarMake has a selected a Make, this object will limit the possible models the user can search for by only displaying models from that one manufacturer. (e.g., "F-150") Thank you for any examples/links.

  • Change default font in MS word 2010?

    - by Nano8Blazex
I don't believe this has been asked before, and I'm curious, Is there any way to change the default font in MS Word 2010 beta? Or MS Word 2007? I'm getting really tired of changing fonts every time I write a document. I simply don't like the Calibri font and change it every time... and it's getting annoying. Thanks.
