How to compress CSS/JS in VS2010 Web Deployment Build Template?

Hi all, We've recently upgraded from VS2008 - VS2010 (and hence upgrading from Web Deployment Project to proper deployment project). Obviously what's new in VS2010 web deployments is the introduction of Workflow as the build process template. Previously, we used a MSBuild task in the WDP to execute the Yahoo YUI Javascript/CSS compression module to minify/compress javascript and css files. Has anyone managed to accomplish this task with Visual Studio 2010? I have seen the new "SquishIt" compressor created by Justin Etheridge, but its not ideal as it "squishes" on the fly (e.g on Application_Start - Global.ascx) - which means you still have to push out all the uncompressed files to your web server before squishing. In the Workflow designer - i can see a toolbox item called "MSBuild" - just dont know how to use it to accomplish what i want. Been searching high and wide, no-one seems to know how. Surely someone out there has done this.

Redirect parent page inside jQuery-ui-dialog

jQuery(document).ready doesn't run under IIS7

To simplify this test case, I created a new default .NET MVC project in Visual Studio 2010, and added the following code to the HTML header in Site.Master: <script type="text/javascript" src="../../Scripts/jquery-1.4.1.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> jQuery(document).ready(function () { alert('jQuery document ready'); }); </script> This works as expected in the .NET development server. However, when deployed to IIS7, the jQuery(document).ready function is not executed. Needless to say, my actual application is much more complicated. This eliminates all "suspects" except IIS7 deployment. Any thoughts/suggestions?

XFBML fb:login_button only loading 20% of the time

I have a fb:login-button that is working but the button only displays about 20% of the time I load the page. Have a look here to see what I mean, bearing in mind I have never had to refresh the page more than 20 times before I finally turns up. Ubuntu 12.04, Can hear the sound but Sound option in settings shows no sound card

I have weired issue. I did a fresh installation of Ubuntu 12.04. Then I installed Nvidia drives for my graphics card. I executed the command "modprobe nvidia" after installing the Nvidia drivers and rebooted. After reboot, sound indicator in top panel is disabled and I can't control the volume from there. I opened Settings Sound and it does not show any sound card installed. However, I can hear the sound. Please help. Can't disable jQuery cache

Update I figured out that it must be caching problem but I can't turn cache off. How do I know upload that file using the Ajax.BeginForm? Is the code right? Can anyone more experience advise about using jQuery plug-in to upload file before the form submission? Thank you

Actionscript/Flex - Is it possible to dynamically extend an object, modify functions, add functions

I know this question might be frowned upon, but actionscript is a dynamic language similar to javascript and in javascript I can take an object from a library written by someone else and dynamically (at runtime) add/remove/modify functions, properties, prototypes etc. this is kind of like dynamically extending an object to make it work with the library it came with as well as another library. Is something like this possible in flex actionscript? I'm thinking it is only possible with classes that are declared 'dynamic' and definitely not possible with classes declared 'final'. What are your thoughts? Any ideas/tricks?

Set up printing with a networked LPR printer?

I'm trying to set up printing to a networked LPR printer, but I can't seem to make it work. The connexion information that IT gives is: Print Spooler: printing.domain.edu Printer Name: PrinterName Print port: 515 Bidirectional: Disabled It's an HP LaserJet p4015x, and I'm using the "HP LaserJet p4015x, hpcups 3.10.6 (color, 2-sided printing)" driver, according to CUPS. I have tried installing via the CUPS admin interface as lpd://printing.domain.edu:515/PrinterName, lpd://printing.domain.edu/PrinterName, and http://printing.domain.edu:515/PrinterName, and none of these has worked (i.e. test pages show up as "stopped").

Configuring Oracle iPlanet Web Server / Oracle Traffic Director to use crypto accelerators on T4-1 servers Jyri had written a technical article on Configuring Solaris Cryptographic Framework and Sun Java System Web Server 7 on Systems With UltraSPARC T1 Processors. I tried to find out what has changed since then in T4. I have used a T4-1 SPARC system with Solaris 10. Results slightly vary for Solaris 11. For Solaris 11, the T4 optimization was implemented in libsoftcrypto.so while it was in pkcs11_softtoken_extra.so for Solaris 10. Overview of T4 processors is here in this blog. Many thanx to Chi-Chang Lin and Julien for their help. 1. Install Oracle iPlanet Web Server / Oracle Traffic Director. Go to instance/config directory. # cd /opt/oracle/webserver7/https-hostname.fqdn/config 2. List default PKCS#11 Modules # ../../bin/modutil -dbdir . -listListing of PKCS #11 Modules-----------------------------------------------------------1. Actually, the RSA op is never bypassed in NSS, it's always done with PKCS#11 calls. So the bypass settings won't affect the behavior of the probes for RSA at all. The only thing that matters if where the RSA key and certificate live, ie. which PKCS#11 token, and thus which PKCS#11 module gets called to do the work. If your certificate/key are in the NSS certificate/key db, you will see libsoftokn3/libfreebl libraries doing the RSA work. If they are in the Sun Metaslot, it should be the Solaris code. 10. keyboard shortcut editor does not intercept keypresses

I've been using suckless dwm for years and i really need to make the shortcuts look alike to feel at home ;) On ubuntu oneiric, the keyboard shortcut editor is opened with: system settings - keyboard - shortcuts. The help in the window specifies: 'To edit a shortcut, click the row and hold down the new keys or press backspace to clear' So I select the first row of the 'navigation' section and highlight 'Move window to workspace 1' Then i hold down ctrl+alt+1 for ten seconds but nothing happens. The shortcut still appears as 'disabled'. I'm unable to set any shortcut, i've tried many combinations. For example, a combination with Super key will be intercepted by unity instead of being catched by the keyboard shortcut editor window. Can anybody reproduce this with oneiric ? What am I doing wrong ?

How to return model state from child action handler in ASP.NET MVC

In my blog engine, I have one controller action that displays blog content, and in that view, I call Html.RenderAction(...) to render the "CreateComment" form. When a user posts a comment, the post is handled by the comment controller (not the blog controller). If the comment data is valid, I simply return a Redirect back to the blog page's URL. If the comment data is invalid (e.g. comment body is empty), I want to return the ViewData with the error information back to the blog controller and through the blog view to the CreateComment action/view so I can display which fields are bad. I have this working fine via AJAX when Javascript is enabled, but now I'm working on the case where Javascript might be disabled. If I return a RedirecToAction or Redirect from the comment controller, the model state information is lost. Any ideas?

How do I disable the touchpad using the upper left corner on an HP Pavilion dv6?

To disable the touchpad on an HP Pavilion dv6, you double tap on an area in the upper left hand corner of the touchpad. Then the blue indicator light around the border of the touchpad turns red, and the touchpad is disabled. Double tapping on this area again turns the touchpad turns back on. I do a lot of typing, and frequently bump the touchpad, messing up my work and annoying me. So, I would like to enable the ability to disable the touchpad by double-tapping on the area in the upper left hand corner. Unfortunately, there is no function key backup to disable the touchpad. This does not work in Ubuntu. I can turn it off using touchpad-indicator, but the program must be manually started and you have to disable using the key combination. Double-tapping the area is much easier. My computer is the HP Pavilion dv6-6135dx. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Upgraded joomla latest Added php.ini root directory of host. Disabled cgi access But the site is still hacked. I checked up on the index.php file and owerwrite original index.php but the site is still hacked. How is this possible?

My girlfriend got a new Subnotebook for Christmas (Sony Vayo VPCY21S1E), which comes with an "Intel HD graphics" vga adaptor. When I try to boot the Ubuntu installer from USB, the screen goes blank after a short while, before I even see the Ubuntu logo. However, when I select "nomodeset" in the boot options, I can boot it to the CLI login prompt. When I start X, though, that only works in VESA mode (I've read Intel eventually got rid of Usermode Mode Setting and only offers KMS now, which I've disabled to get it to boot). What can I do to enable a) higher resolution than 1024x768 in VESA b) hardware acceleration for compiz, video playback, etc?

Are tile overlays possible with the iPhone's MapKit

I already have a tile source set up for use with the Google Maps JavaScript API. I am trying to translate this for use with the iPhone MapKit. I have correctly implemented the javascript zooming levels into mapkit. Whenever - (void)mapView:(MKMapView *)mapView regionDidChangeAnimated:(BOOL)animated is called, I snap the region to the nearest zoom level based on the same center point. Is it possible to implement a solution possibly with CATiledLayer to implement a tiling solution. Does the iPhone use the standard 256x256 tiles like google maps does natively? Any direction or help on this would be greatly appreciated. I would rather not waste a couple weeks trying to implement this if it's not possible.

Hi Friend, I am developing a Firefox add-on, and for that I have used overlay, now I want that if somebody presses the key like control+j it should open my extension, and if somebody presses ctrl+space it should execute a JavaScript function. Problem with external monitor on my asus u36sd laptop

To connect my laptop to external monitor (for the dual monitor configuration) I have to perform 7 weird steps: Suspend OS (close notebook for that) Connect external monitor to vga output Open notebook and unsuspend OS (at this moment in laptop screen is native resolution but on external monitor resolution is lower than native (not same as at laptop)). Suspend OS (close notebook for that) Open notebook and unsuspend OS (at this moment laptop screen has resolution as a external monitor but external monitor has lower resolution that should be in native) Suspend OS (close notebook for that) Unsuspend OS (at this moment laptop and external monitor have native resolution which will should be) I just open and close hood of the laptop until external monitor and laptop screen become in native resolution. Adjusting monitors in displays not give me proper result. I have ASUS U36SD with optimus (disabled by acpicall) with 1366x768 screen and external monitor with 1280x1024 and latest ubuntu 11.10. How to perform laptop to work with external monitor without this weird actions?
