• XCode Intellisense Question

  I've always seem to work around this lack of knowledge but I thought I would ask the community. I hope this question will make sense. In XCode, when I call a function that has several parameter the intellisense pops up. When I hit TAB the first time, it takes me directly to the first parameter. How do I get to the next parameter easily. If I hit TAB again, it puts an actual TAB in the line. For the last month I've been using arrow keys but I figured there must be a keyboard shortcut.

• Why does DataSet.HasChanges() return true if called in the same function as change but false otherwi

  Assuming that the buttons are being clicked in order, the following code modifies row 1 in a .net DataSet, then row 0. HasChanges returns true, but GetChanges only gives me the change for row 0. If I comment out the line in the button2 click event that modifies row 0, then HasChanges returns false. Can anyone explain to me why HasChanges() and GetChanges() only return true when they are called in the same function as the change to the DataSet?   Given the following module, module Foo def bar :baz end end def send_to_foo(method) # ...? end send_to_foo(:bar) # => :baz What code should go in send_to_foo to make the last line work as expected? (send_to_foo is obviously not how I would implement this; it just makes clearer what I'm looking for.) I expected Foo.send(:bar) to work at first, but it makes sense that it doesn't. It would if the method were defined as def self.bar, but that's no fun.

• How to retain service settings through InstallShield upgrade install

  I have an InstallScript project in IS2010. It has a handful of services that get installed. Some are C++ exes and use the "InstallShield Object for NT Services". Others are Java apps installed as services with Java Service Wrapper through LaunchAppAndWait command line calls. Tomcat is also being installed as a service through a call to its service.bat. When the installer runs in upgrade mode, the services are reinstalled, and the settings (auto vs. manual startup, restart on fail, log-on account, etc.) are reverted to the defaults. I would like to save the service settings before the file transfer and then repopulate them afterward, but I haven't been able to find a good mechanism to do this. How can I save and restore the service settings?

• How to use regex to match ASTERISK in awk

  I'm stil pretty new to regular expression and just started learning to use awk. What I am trying to accomplish is writing a ksh script to read-in lines from text, and and for every lines that match the following: *RECORD 0000001 [some_serial_#] to replace $2 (i.e. 000001) with a different number. So essentially the script read in batch record dump, and replace the record number with date+record#, and write to separate file. So this is what I'm thinking the format should be: awk 'match($0,"/*FTR")!=0{$2="$DATE-n++"; print $0} match($0,"/*FTR")==0{print $0}' $BATCH > $OUTPUT but obviously "/*FTR" is not going to work, and I'm not sure if changing $2 and then write the whole line is the correct way to do this. So I am in need of some serious enlightenment.

• c# ASP HttpResponse with redirect causes HTTP 302

  Hi, I have a flow of web pages A and B. On the web page A, I do a "Response.Redirect("B.aspx"); The page B needs a client certificate. When the redirect is done I see a popup asking for a client certificate. I select the correct certificate, which is retrieved from a smart card, and then I insert the pin. Right after, I see a page saying that the connection was lost, and I receive an HTTP 302. I never reach the page B.aspx. I tried to add the following line "Response.RedirectLocation = "B.aspx"; but with no success too. Any hints? Thanks

• How do I fix JavaHL (JNI) Not available after I have changed the logon password on my Mac?

  I have installed Eclipse 3.5.2 and the plugin Subversion JavaHL Native Library Adapter 1.6.9.2 and this worked without any problems. However, this morning I was forced to change the password to logon to my Mac and since then I get the message that "Subversion native library not available" when I try to save any changes. Can anyone help? I have tried to add this line (-Djava.library.path=/usr/lib/jni) to the eclipse.ini file but this didn´t seem to make any difference. Can anyone help?

• Intellij Idea 9, what folders to check into (or not check into) source control?

  Our team has just moved from Netbeans to Intellij 9 Ultimate and need to know what files/folders should typically be excluded from source control as they are not "workstation portable" ie: they reference paths that only exist on one user's computer. As far as I can tell Intellij wants to ignore most of the .idea project including .idea/artifacts/* .idea/inspectionProfiles/* .idea/copyright/* .idea/dataSources.ids .idea/dataSources.xml .idea/workspace.xml However it seems to want to check in the .iml files that exist in each module's root directory. I originally checked in the entire .idea directory via the command line which is obviously not aware of what "should" be ignored by Idea. Is the entire .idea directory typically ignored?

• TypeInitializationException When Getting an NHibernate Session

  I’ve run into what appears to be an NHibernate config problem. Basically, I ran up a simple proof of concept persistence integration test using NUnit, the test simply querys an Oracle database and successfully returns the last record received by the underlying table. However, when the assemblies are taken out of the NUnit test environment and deployed as they would be for an actual application build, my call for an NHibernate session results in a ‘TypeInitializationException’ whilst executing the code line: sessionFactory = New Configuration().Configure().BuildSessionFactory() The application is a vb.net console app running against an Oracle 9.2 database, using a ‘coding framework’ published on the web by Bill McCafferty entitled 'NHibernate Best Practices with ASP.NET' (pre S#harp Architecture). • ffmpeg problem in ubuntu (libavcodec.so)

  I run Ubuntu and try to use the ffmpeg wrapper in Java from here: http://code.google.com/p/javacv/ It seems to work fine on other systems, but in Ubuntu the project crashes with the following mistake: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: Error looking up function 'avcodec_decode_video2': /usr/lib/i686/cmov/libavcodec.so: undefined symbol: avcodec_decode_video2 ffmpeg is working great from the command line, though. JavaCV author recommended me to check this link: http://linux-tipps.blogspot.com/2009/05/pretending-package-is-installed-by.html Probably I'm doing something wrong, but it cannot reinstall libavcodec51 like this. So the questions are: 1. Is those solution above a good one so I should bring it to success somehow? 2. What are the other ways to solve the problem? Thank you for your suggestions in advance!

At the top of the file is the following line: from _json import make_scanner as c_make_scanner There are five .py files in the module's directory: __init__ (two leading and trailing underscores, it's formatting as bold), decoder, encoder, scanner and tool. There is no file called "json". My question is: when doing the import, where exactly is "make_scanner" coming from? Yes, I am very new to Python!

  Hello there. I just recently started using this library (the one from CodePlex), but I ran into some issues. My goal is to use it so I can process some data from multiple Excel files, and send such data to a database, per file. I'm doing something like: foreach( $file_list as $file ) { $book = PHPExcel_IOFactory::load( $path . $file ); } So, inside the foreach I'm (for now) just showing the data to the user, but after five files, I get a memory error: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 50688 bytes) in /var/www/test/classes/PHPExcel/Shared/OLERead.php on line 76 Is there a way to __destruct the object after each file is loaded, so space is reserved (made free) for the next file, instead of accumulating it, or do you rather know of a reason and work-around for this? I am using Django 1.1.1 on Ubuntu.

• c#: IsNullableType helper class ?

  Hi there, Can anyone help? I have some code that is shared between 2 projects. The code points to a model which basically is a collection of properties that comes from a db. Problem being is that some properties use nullable types in 1 model and the other it doesn't Really the dbs should use the same but they don't .. so for example there is a property called IsAvailble which uses "bool" in one model and the other it uses bool? (nullable type) so in my code i do the following objContract.IsAvailble.Value ? "Yes" : "No" //notice the property .VALUE as its a bool? (nullable type) but this line will fail on model that uses a standard "bool" (not nullable) as there is no property .VALUE on types that are NOT nullable Is there some kind of helper class that i check if the property is a nullable type and i can return .Value .. otherwise i just return the property. Anybody have a solution for this?

  Hi All. We use jalopy to format our code to the sun standard (well 99%). I have 1 issue with it. It keeps moving comments to the right of the line.   Hi, I begin with ZF (1.9.7), and I want to use View Helpers from a library shared between all my projects. But I can't find how to add it directory to the helpers path. My herpers works fines when I put them in application's helpers path.
