• Retrieve enum value based on XmlEnumAttribute name value

  I need a Generic function to retrieve the name or value of an enum based on the XmlEnumAttribute "Name" property of the enum. For example I have the following enum defined: Public Enum Currency <XmlEnum("00")> CDN = 1 <XmlEnum("01")> USA= 2 <XmlEnum("02")> EUR= 3 <XmlEnum("03")> JPN= 4 End Enum The first Currency enum value is 1; the enum name is "CDN"; and the XMLEnumAttribute Name property value is "00". If I have the enum value, I can retrieve the XmlEnumAttribute "Name" value using the following generic function: Public Function GetXmlAttrNameFromEnumValue(Of T)(ByVal pEnumVal As T) As String Dim type As Type = pEnumVal.GetType Dim info As FieldInfo = type.GetField([Enum].GetName(GetType(T), pEnumVal)) Dim att As XmlEnumAttribute = CType(info.GetCustomAttributes(GetType(XmlEnumAttribute), False)(0), XmlEnumAttribute) 'If there is an xmlattribute defined, return the name Return att.Name End Function So using the above function, I can specify the Currency enum type, pass a value of 1, and the return value will be "00". What I need is a function to perform if the opposite. If I have the XmlEnumAttribute Name value "00", I need a function to return a Currency enum with a value of 1. Just as useful would be a function that would return the enum name "CDN". I could then simply parse this to get the enum value. Any assistance would be appreciated.

• Android -- Can't play any videos (mp4/mov/3gp/etc.)?

  Hello all, I'm having great difficulty getting my Android application to play videos from the SD card. It doesn't matter what size, bitrate, video format, or any other setting I can think of, neither the emulator nor my G1 will play anything I try to encode. I've also tried a number of videos from the web (various video formats, bitrates, with and without audio tracks, etc.), and none of those work either. All I keep getting is a dialog box that says: "Cannot play video" "Sorry, this video cannot be played." There are errors reported in LogCat, but I don't understand them and I've tried searching the Internet for further explanations without any luck. • How far did DevExpress get with Javascript refactoring?

  Over a year ago, I remember watching one of DevExpress evangelists previewing or at least promoting rich Javascript refactoring (beyond just limited intellisense) within the Visual Studio shell, I recall part of CodeRush/DevExpress product line. I was excited. On checking today (lmgtfy) I can find only very very limited reference to it, just one small italtic line about beta in product description, no videos, no blog posts, no community buzz. Was it dropped? Vapourware? Poor implementation that they dont even promote it? With Javascript arguably the most popular programming language ever and with a VM for it on practically every machine in last 10 years, why is editor support so poor? (Compared with those for Java and C#)? You see the likes of ScottGu bragging we now have jQuery intellisense but compare this to richness of C# support in the IDE it is a joke. Someone once said since there are many style of writing Javascript a rich IDE (beyond intellisense) with refactoring support is difficult, but if several engines can interpret/compile JS with same result surely it should be hard to analysis it to support stuff like rename variable, extract method, move to another namespace (or JS minic of it), etc.. Am I wrong?

• Ext.data.Store, Javascript Arrays and Ext.grid.ColumnModel

  I am using Ext.data.Store to call a PHP script which returns a JSON response with some metadata about fields that will be used in a query (unique name, table, field, and user-friendly title). I then loop through each of the Ext.data.Record objects, placing the data I need into an array (this_column), push that array onto the end of another array (columns), and eventually pass this to an Ext.grid.ColumnModel object. The problem I am having is - no matter which query I am testing against (I have a number of them, varying in size and complexity), the columns array always works as expected up to columns[15]. At columns[16], all indexes from that point and previous are filled with the value of columns[15]. This behavior continues until the loop reaches the end of the Ext.data.Store object, when the entire arrays consists of the same value. • How to add dynamic profile fields in Invision Power Board?

  I run a game server and want to link the persons in game character name and stats to Invision Power Board. I've setup IPB so players currently login with their in game login. That means their username on the forum is the same as their username for the game. They can have multiple characters on 1 account so ideally I'd like to allow them to choose a main character and display an actual image of that character and allow them to display other characters if they are online. Currently I'm doing something like this by hacking profileFields.php but it's messy and not very efficient on the user or server end. My code currently uses 2 custom fields which the player can enter their character names in. To display only their main character they enter the name in the first field. To also display other characters if they are online they enter the same name into the second field. To resolve the IDs I have to run a lot of queries. I know PHP but I am not familiar with IPBs code at all. I just need pointed in a direction where I can combine the 2 fields into 1 field. tl;dr: Here is my setup: Invision Power Board 3 Data is stored in MySQL on the same server the forum is hosted on. Usernames on the forum are identical to usernames in the game Here is a breakdown of what I'd like to do: In the edit profile section I need to resolve the forum username to the games account id then: Display a list of characters and allow them to choose which characters they want to display if they are online as well as a default character that will be displayed if none are online. In the posts user info pane: Display the online character or the default if none are online. Here is what I need to know: How to generate a list of characters in the profile edit form and allow selection (checkbox) of each character to display as well as the selection of a default character (radio or dropdown?) • UIButton in UITableViewCell events not working

  I see this problem all over the net, and none of the solutions listed work for me! I have added UIButton to a UITableViewCell in IB. I have assigned a custom UITableViewCell class to the UITableViewCell. My custom UITableViewCell class has an IBAction that im connecting to the Touch Up Inside event (I have tried other events they all don't work) but the IBAction function is never called! There is nothing else in the UITableViewCell, I have added the UIButton directly into the Content View. And everything has user interaction enabled! It is as simple as that I have nothing complex going on! What is is about a UITableViewCell that stops buttons working? • EDM -> POCO -> WCF (.NET4) But transferring Collections causes IsReadOnly set to TRUE

  Ok, this may sound a little 'unorthodox', but...using VS2010 and the new POCO t4 template for Entity Framework (http://tinyurl.com/y8wnkt2), I can generate nice POCO's. I can then use these POCO's (as DTO's) in a WCF service essentially going from EDM all the way through to the client. Kinda what this guys is doing (http://tinyurl.com/yb4bslv), except everything is generated automatically. I understand that an entity and a DTO 'should' be different, but in this case, I'm handling client and server, and there's some real advantages to having the DTO in the model and automatically generated. My problem is, that when I transfer an entity that has a relationship, the client generated collection (ICollection) has the read-only value set, so I can't manipulate that relationship. For example, retrieving an existing Order, I can't add a product to the Products collection client-side...the Products collection is read-only. I would prefer to do a bunch of client side 'order-editing' and then send the updated order back rather than making dozens of server round trips (eg AddProductToOrder(product)). I'd also prefer not to have a bunch of thunking between Entity and DTO. So all-in-all this looks good to me...except for the read-only part. Is there a solution, or is this too much against the SOA grain?

I added Prerequisites like: .NET 3.5, Microsoft office interoperability, VS tools for office System 3.0 Run time, .etc. After that Selected "Download Prerequisite from Same location as my application" in Specify install location for Prerequisite. Build the setup. I can find mysetup.msi in Release directory. In new Machine I started fresh installation of my application... While Clicking the mySetup.msi. Dialog shows like this " This Setup Requires .NET framework 3.5 , Please install .NET setup then run this setup, .NET Framework can be obtained from web Do you want to do that now?" it gives "yes" no option - if I press YES it goes microsoft website. How can avoid it ? I wanted setup take .NET Framework to be installed from same location where I put all setup files including mysetup.msi ? In case of Quite installation cmd /c "msiexec /package mysetup.msi /quiet /log install.log" ..in log I can see only half way through installtion then error Property(S): HideFatalErrorForm = TRUE MSI (s) (D0:24) [00:07:08:015]: Product: my product-- Installation failed. === Logging stopped: 3/23/2010 0:07:08 === so how can complete the installation without user intervention and without error using VS2008 setup project thanks for all the help in advance for any input.

• How to require fullscreen mode in a jQTouch application?

  I'm using jQTouch to develop a version of a website optimized for safari on the iphone. The jQTouch demo helpfully shows how to show an "install this" message for users not using full screen mode and hide it for those who are. When in fullscreen mode, the body should have the class "fullscreen." So you can hide the "install this" message for people who have already added your app to their home page by adding this css rule to your stylesheet: body.fullscreen #home .info { display: none; } What I'd like to do is require users to use the app in fullscreen mode only. When viewed from the regular browser, they should only see a message asking them to install the app. That message should of course be hidden otherwise. This ought to be really, really easy, so I must just be missing something obvious. I thought one way to do this would be to simply test for the class "fullscreen" on the body: if it's not there, use goTo to get to another div, or hide the other divs, or something like that. Strangely, however, this doesn't work. As a test, I've still got the original "info" message, as in the jQTouch demo, and it doesn't show up when I launch in fullscreen mode. So the body must have the fullscreen class. And yet I can't find any other trace of it: when I put this alert to test things after the document has loaded, I get nothing when launching in fullscreen mode: alert($("body").attr("class")); I also thought I might test for fullscreen mode by checking for the value of the fullScreen boolean. But this doesn't seem to work either. What am I missing? What is the best way to do this?

• IE Display Bug, jQuery bug

  So I built some complex ajaxy jquery module on my homepage, with the help of "scrollable" from flowplayer.org. It works fine for me on Chrome, Opera, Firefox ... but of course IE is not playing friendly (regardless of the version, from my testing). Objects are not displaying exactly where they should, some are overlaying each other, and when a click a button some divs just disappear. However, if I resize the IE browser window up and down, the display mostly fixes itself. Then if I click on one of the buttons I made, it messes it up again. Until I resize the window again and it looks fine. • JSF 2/Primefaces p:ajax not updating panel after onchange event is fired

  I am really stuck with this for the last 2 days and am struggling to understand how Primefaces updates UI components on the client based on their ID. I have a h:selectOneMenu with a count for the number of panels to be displayed. Each p:panel will contain a panelGrid with numerous form elements. The onchange event on the drop down is fired and I can see the count in the Managed Bean. • Getting types of the attributes in an ActiveRecord object

  I would like to know if it is possible to get the types (as known by AR - eg in the migration script and database) programmatically (I know the data exists in there somewhere). For example, I can deal with all the attribute names: ar.attribute_names.each { |name| puts name } .attributes just returns a mapping of the names to their current values (eg no type info if the field isn't set). Some places I have seen it with the type information: in script/console, type the name of an AR entity: >> Driver => Driver(id: integer, name: string, created_at: datetime, updated_at: datetime) So clearly it knows the types. Also, there is .column_for_attribute, which takes an attr name and returns a column object - which has the type buried in the underlying database column object, but it doesn't appear to be a clean way to get it. I would also be interested in if there is a way that is friendly for the new "ActiveModel" that is coming (rails3) and is decoupled from database specifics (but perhaps type info will not be part of it, I can't seem to find out if it is).   Hi all ive looked through the current related questions but have not managed to find anything similar to my needs. Im in the process of creating a affiliate store using zencart - now one of the issues is that zencart is not designed for redirects and affiliate stores but it can be done. I will be changing the store so it acts like a showcase store showing prices. There is a mod called easy populate which allows me to upload datafeeds. This is all well and good however my affiliate link will not be in each product. I can do it manually after uploading the data feed and going to each product and then adding it as an image with a redirect link - However when there are over 500 items its going to be a long repetitive and time consuming job. I have been told that I can add the links to the data feed before uploading it to zencart and this should be done using python. Ive been reading about python for several days now and feel im looking for the wrong things. I was wondering if someone could please advise the simplest way for me to get this done.   Hi All, I have got this error when using Enterprise Library 3.1 May 2007 version. We are developing a product and have a common lib directory beneath the Subversion Trunk directory <\Trunk\Lib\ into which we put all the third party DLLs. Inside this we have Microsoft\EnterpriseLibrary\v3.1 in which we have copied all the dlls from \Program Files\Microsoft Enterprise Library May2007\bin. Everything was working properly until one of the developers installed the source code on this machine. There were some dlls copied at the end of the source code installation and once that was done, he is not able to run the project anymore. He always gets this error 'Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Data, Version=3.1.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040)' What is the problem here? I thought that when the source code was installed it was just supposed to build everything and copy in the bin directory within the source code parent directory. Also we have copied the Dlls from Microsoft Enterprise Library May 2007\bin directory into our product development directory and references into our project with a copylocal flag set to true. Can anyone help me out here RK

• Weblogic is slow to start (11mins) under VM (VirtualBox and VMware)

  (SOLVED! BY FAKING SYSTEM RANDOM GENERATOR, SEE BELOW) I'm setting up a VM image for my dev/build team. Inside that VM a Weblogic domain should be running. I use Ububtu server distro, WLS 9.2MP3 + ALSB. Everything works OK, quite fast, but at the start time the WLS stops twice for a measurable amounts of time. Two stops in total amount to about 10 minutes delay. For tasks where deployment requires server restart it's very annoying. :-( Sleeping time is not constant, sometimes the server starts very fast, sometimes so-so, sometimes 10 minutes or more. Interesting that if I press Enter while looking at the stopped server, it wakes up much faster, sometimes after a few seconds. WLST (Weblogic Jython shell) is also hanging for quite a time when executed in VM. It doesn't react to Enter though. Here must be some developers who run WLS with a VM. I wonder if others have the same problem? Was someone able to solve it?   I'm just getting acquainted with implementing REST web services in Java using JAX-RS and I ran into the following problem. One of my resource classes requires access to a storage backend, which is abstracted away behind a StorageEngine interface. I would like to inject the current StorageEngine instance into the resource class serving the REST requests and I thought a nice way of doing this would be by using the @Context annotation and an appropriate ContextResolver class. This is what I have so far: In MyResource.java: class MyResource { @Context StorageEngine storage; [...] } In StorageEngineProvider.java: @Provider class StorageEngineProvider implements ContextResolver<StorageEngine> { private StorageEngine storage = new InMemoryStorageEngine(); public StorageEngine getContext(Class<?> type) { if (type.equals(StorageEngine.class)) return storage; return null; } } I'm using com.sun.jersey.api.core.PackagesResourceConfig to discover the providers and the resource classes automatically, and according to the logs, it picks up the StorageEngineProvider class nicely (timestamps and unnecessary stuff left out intentionally): INFO: Root resource classes found: class MyResource INFO: Provider classes found: class StorageEngineProvider However, the value of storage in my resource class is always null - neither the constructor of StorageEngineProvider nor its getContext method is called by Jersey, ever. • InstallShield 2010 with license - no license for automatic build system (CI) as Windows service

  I really need help here. We are using CI build-process (Hudson) as an automated build system using Msbuild. The CI run in Apache Tomcat 6 that run under the credentials of a domain user (not a local Windows user ). Every time the CI try to build an InstallShield project (using isproj files) we get a license error message: " C:\Program Files\MSBuild\InstallShield\2010\InstallShield.targets(62,3): error : -7159: The product license has expired or has not yet been initialized. You must launch the IDE to configure the product license in order to proceed. C:\Program Files\MSBuild\InstallShield\2010\InstallShield.targets(62,3): error : Exception Caught". If I log in to the same machine with the same domain user credentials and build the InstallShield project there is a license and it is working well. Adding the user to the local Users group doesn't help (no license). Adding the user to the local Administrators group helps and it is working. We do not want the user to be in the local Administrators group - for various reasons. What do I need to do to make it work? Do I need to add permissions to the use? Help will be highly appreciated.   Hello, I have a press archive. The press archive displays automattically created thumbnails as links to a PDF document. This is what i get in IE 6, 7 & 8: While it works fine in Chrome: The thumbnails are automatically created by imagemagick: $cmd = 'convert ' . $_FILES['file']['tmp_name'] # This is a PDF file . '[0]' # This indicates that it the first page that should be converted .   I am very confused the View and corresponding controller has to be set in MVC 1.0 project structure. Currently in a default application we have About.aspx page under Home folder and all the controller action is handled in HomeController. This controller mixes up Home action and About action. It makes things messy. I like to have clear separation of my controller. Like to have one About Controller and HomeCotroller separately. For it I have create another folder "About" under view folder and place Aboput.aspx in it , otherwise we will get the error below. How can I achieve it ?? I like to have exact folder structure as in View, same as in Cotroller. The view 'About' or its master could not be found. The following locations were searched: ~/Views/About/About.aspx ~/Views/About/About.ascx ~/Views/Shared/About.aspx ~/Views/Shared/About.ascx Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request.   Hi ppl, I wanted to know the different standards of sorting. To be more specific take the sample set: (Please note there's capitals, small letters, special characters, null values and numbers here) A a 3F Zx - 1Ad NULL How would the Oracle Database sort this by default? How would LINQ sort this by default? How would db2 sort this by default? (the following may get even more vague) How does the Windows platform sort this? (I mean say you have a couple of filenames, by default how would this get treated in a name sort) How does the *nix platform sort this? Is there some sort of standard for alphanumeric/special character sorting? The Windows operating system orders with numbers first, then alphabets. The Oracle database however treats alphabets first. I'm not sure of the *nix platform. It would be nice to have one place to know all these rules for the most common platforms (listed in questions above). • Problem resolving a generic Repository with Entity Framework and Castle Windsor Container

  Hi, im working in a generic repository implementarion with EF v4, the repository must be resolved by Windsor Container. First the interface public interface IRepository<T> { void Add(T entity); void Delete(T entity); T Find(int key) } Then a concrete class implements the interface public class Repository<T> : IRepository<T> where T: class { private IObjectSet<T> _objectSet; } So i need _objectSet to do stuff like this in the previous class public void Add(T entity) { _objectSet.AddObject(entity); } And now the problem, as you can see im using a EF interface like IObjectSet to do the work, but this type requires a constraint for the T generic type "where T: class". That constrait is causing an exception when Windsor tries to resolve its concrete type. Windsor configuration look like this. <castle> <components> <component id="LVRepository" service="Repository.Infraestructure.IRepository`1, Repository" type="Repository.Infraestructure.Repository`1, Repository" lifestyle="transient"> </component> </components> The container resolve code IRepository<Product> productsRep =_container.Resolve<IRepository<Product>>(); Now the exception im gettin System.ArgumentException: GenericArguments[0], 'T', on 'Repository.Infraestructure.Repository`1[T]' violates the constraint of type 'T'. ---> System.TypeLoadException: GenericArguments[0], 'T', on 'Repository.Infraestructure.Repository`1[T]' violates the constraint of type parameter 'T'. If i remove the constraint in the concrete class and the depedency on IObjectSet (if i dont do it get a compile error) everything works FINE, so i dont think is a container issue, but IObjectSet is a MUST in the implementation. Some help with this, please.

• Dynamically loaded control - how can I access a value in Page_Init

  I am loading a LinkButton dynamically when a user clicks on another LinkButton. I am attaching an event handler to it. When the user clicks on the dynamically loaded LinkButton, the event does not fire. From what I've been reading, I understand this is because when the page posts back the dynamically loaded control no longer exists. It looks like I'm supposed to make sure this control is recreated in Page_Init. The dynamically created LinkButton is dependedent on a value (Product ID). I need someway to access this value so I can properly create the control. ViewState is not accessible and I'm concerned if I use Session it could time out and then that wouldn't help. Any ideas? Also, I hardcoded a Product ID value just for testing, and that still did not cause the event to fire. Here are my question(s) Is this possible to do? ie push from nutch into a BASIC auth secured Solr instance? Is it possible to tell commons-httpclient about a credential without explicitly doing an _httpclient.getState().setCredentials(...)? Anyother ideas? One idea i had was to use an IPfiltering Valve for just the "update" Solr webservices. That would mean you could only make an update call from certain nodes. Thanks
