• XML validation error when using multiple schema files/namespaces

  Hi, I've been reading a ton about xml and learning a lot but I am stuck on one error. I have a schema defined in multiple files and I can't get it to work. The Data class , contains fileds with many types : int , string , double , Person object and array of Person object. I created the J2ME client code through the wizard and every thing seems ok . I see in the Netbeans project the service and the stub . When I try to call my web service method , say Data GetData() ; Then I have a problem with parsing the returned data from the web service and the client data object .   I've browsed all of the discussions here on StackOverflow regarding NTLM and Java, and I can't seem to find the answer. I'll try and be much more specific.   If you don't know the Connect 4 game, follow the link :) I used to play it a lot when I was a child. At least until my little sister got bored with me winning... Anyway I was reading the Code Golf: Tic Tac Toe the other day and I thought that solving the Tic Tac Toe problem was simpler than solving the Connect 4... and wondered how much this would reflect on the number of characters a solution would yield. I thus propose a similar challenge: Find the winner The grid is given under the form of a string meant to passed as a parameter to a function. The goal of the code golf is to write the body of the function, the parameter will be b, of string type The image in the wikipedia article leads to the following representation: "....... ..RY... ..YYYR. ..RRYY. ..RYRY. .YRRRYR" (6 rows of 7 elements) but is obviously incomplete (Yellow has not won yet) There is a winner in the grid passed, no need to do error checking Remember that it might not be exactly 4 The expected output is the letter representing the winner (either R or Y) I expect perl mongers to produce the most unreadable script (along with Ook and whitespace, of course), but I am most interested in reading innovative solutions. I must admit the magic square solution for Tic Tac Toe was my personal fav and I wonder if there is a way to build a similar one with this. Well, happy Easter weekend :) Now I just have a few days to come up with a solution of my own!

Basically what I want is to load a dropdownlist depending on the value of a previous one, and I want it to load the data and appear when the other one is changed.   I need to set the ConnectionString for my DataContext's based on an AppSetting. I am trying to do this by creating a Partial Class for each DataContext. The below is what I have so far and I am wondering if I am overlooking something? Specifically, am I dealing with my DataContext's correctly(disposing, staleness, etc)? Doing it this way will I have issues with Updates and Inserts? Is the file BLLAspnetdb.cs useful or neccessary in the least or should all of that be in the generated partial class AspnetdbDataContext file? What I want to do is to read a folder with PDF files every 10 sec, and delete all the PDF files inside that folder. I read this post of Easy Background Tasks in ASP.NET. • Winform User Settings - Allow multiple choice values at Runtime

  I created a simple User Settings Dialog by binding the Property.Settings to a PropertyGrid. This works like a charm but now I would like to allow only certain choices for some values. I have noticed that some Types will give a dropdown of possible choices. This is what I am shooting for but for, say, Strings. Example, one of the Settings is UserTheme which is a String. Black, Blue, Silver. The program reads that string from the Settings File and sets the Theme on Startup. I can type in a correct theme and it works but if I type in Pink it will not as there is not a pink option. • What is the best practice for ouputting data from a collection on an ASP.net Page?

  I've ported a page from classic ASP to ASP.net. Part of what happens in this page is that a collection of custom types is generated and then displayed via Response.Write() commands. I'd like to get the business logic separated out into a code behind file (and maybe move this all into a user control), but I can't seem to figure out how I'd actually display the collection once it's been generated. I want to specify a master page here, too, so the code can't stay inline.   I am using NHibernate 2.0.1 and .NET I am facing issues with Lazy loading an association I have a BusinessObject class that has associations to other BusinessObject in it, and it can go deeper. The following function is in the BusinessObject to read the values of a collection in the BusinessObject. public virtual object GetFieldValue(string fieldName) { var fieldItems = fieldName.Split(AppConstants.DotChar); var objectToRead = this; for (var i = 0; i < fieldItems.Length - 1; i++) { objectToRead = (BusinessObject) objectToRead.GetFieldValue(fieldItems[i]); } //if (objectToRead._data == null) return objectToRead.SystemId + " Error: _data was null"; return objectToRead.FieldValue(fieldName.LastItem()); } The FieldValue function is described below private object FieldValue(string fieldName) { return _data.Contains(fieldName) ? _data[fieldName] : null; } The BusinessObject has a dictionary_data which stores the field values. Assume the fieldName is BusinessDriver.Description and the BusinessObject which has this field is StrategyBusinessDriver This code breaks down the field name into two - BusinessDriver & Description. The first iteration reads the BusinessDriver object from StrategyBusinessDriver. It is cast into a BusinessObject type so that I can call the GetFieldValue again on it to read the next field i.e Description in the BusinessDriver. The problem is that when I read the BusinessDriver in the first iteration and cast it, I get the Ids and all other details of the BusinessObject but the field dictionary _data and other collections are not fetched. This should be fetched lazily when I read the _data of the BusinessObject. However, this does not happen and I get an error that _data is null. Is there something wrongly coded because of which the collection is not fetched lazily? Please ask for more clarifications if needed. Thanks in advance. UPDATE: It works when I don't do Lazy load.

• Shellcode for a simple stack overflow doesn't start a shell

  Hi, I played around with buffer overflows on Linux (amd64) and tried exploiting a simple program, but it failed. I disabled the security features (address space layout randomization with sysctl -w kernel.randomize_va_space=0 and nx bit in the bios). It jumps to the stack and executes the shellcode, but it doesn't start a shell. Seems like the execve syscall fails. Any idea what's wrong? Running the shellcode standalone works just fine. Bonus question: Why do I need to set rax to zero before calling printf?   I have a spring-hibernate application which is failing to map an object properly: basically I have 2 domain objects, a Post and a User. The semantics are that every Post has 1 corresponding User. The Post domain object looks roughly as follows: class Post { private int pId; private String attribute; ... private User user; //getters and setters here } As you can see, Post contains a reference to User. When I load a Post object, I want to corresponding User object to be loaded (lazily - only when its needed). My mapping looks as follows: <class name="com...Post" table="post"> <id name="pId" column="PostId" /> <property name="attribute" column="Attribute" type="java.lang.String" /> <one-to-one name="User" fetch="join" class="com...User"></one-to-one> </class> And of course I have a basic mapping for User set up. As far as my table schema is concerned, I have a table called post with a foreign UserId which links to the user table. I thought this setup should work, BUT when I load a page that forces the lazy loading of the User object, I notice the following Hiberate query being generated: Select ... from post this_ left outer join user user2_ on this.PostId=user2_.UserId ... Obviously this is wrong: it should be joining UserId from post with UserId from user, but instead its incorrectly joining PostId from post (its primary key) with UserId from user. Any ideas? Thanks!

  I want to make a generic BST, that can be made up of any data type, but i'm not sure how I could add things to the tree, if my BST is generic. All of my needed code is below. I want my BST made up of Locations, and sorted by the x variable. Any help is appreciated.   I've been trying to learn more about using Lamba expression trees and so I created a simple example.   I need to write a junit test for a rather complex application which runs in a tomcat. I wrote a class which builds up my spring context. private static ApplicationContext springContext = null; springContext = new ClassPathXmlApplicationContext( new String[] {"beans"....}); In the application there is a call: public class myClass implements ServletContextAware { .... final String folder = servletContext.getRealPath("/example"); ... } which breaks everything, because the ServletContext is null. • PHP Localization Best Practices? gettext?

  We are in the process of making our website international, allowing multiple languages. I've looked into php's "gettext" however, if I understand it right, I see a big flaw: If my webpage has let's say "Hello World" as a static text. I can put the string as <?php echo gettext("Hello World"); ?>, generate the po/mo files using a tool. Then I would give the file to a translator to work on. A few days later we want to change the text in English to say "Hello Small World"? Do I change the value in gettext? Do I create an english PO file and change it there? If you change the gettext it will consider it as a new string and you'll instantly loose the current translation ... It seems to me that gradually, the content of the php file will have old text everywhere. Or people translating might have to be told "when you see Hello World, instead, translate Hello Small World". I don't know I'm getting confused. In other programming languages, I've seen that they use keywords such as web.home.featured.HelloWorld. What is the best way to handle translations in PHP? Thanks

What am i doing wrong?
