  • getting incorrect error even if the condition is fulfilled

    I am trying to show the message based on the text shown on webpage after a particular action. If the webpage contains text MESSAGE HAS BEEN SUBMITTED SUCCESSFULLY, I want to print Message sent successfully on the screen otherwise MESSAGE SENDING FAILED. Everything is working fine but for one thing. Also check login credentials"); } bufferedReader.close(); The problem is that even if the webpage contains the text MESSAGE HAS BEEN SUBMITTED SUCCESSFULLY, the condition always goes into ELSE part and show MESSAGE SENDING FAILED but thats not true because the message has been sent and i see the MESSAGE HAS BEEN SUBMITTED SUCCESSFULLY on the webpage. Can anyone tell me where am i going wrong?

  • About Data Objects and DAO Design when using Hibernate

    I'm hesitating between two designs of a database project using Hibernate. Design #1. (1) Create a general data provider interface, including a set of DAO interfaces and general data container classes. It hides the underneath implementation. A data provider implementation could access data in database, or an XML file, or a service, or something else. The user of a data provider does not to know about it. (2) Create a database library with Hibernate. This library implements the data provider interface in (1). The bad thing about Design #1 is that in order to hide the implementation details, I need to create two sets of data container classes. One in the general data provider interface - let's call them DPI-Objects, the other set is used in the database library, exclusively for entity/attribute mapping in Hibernate - let's call them H-Objects. In the DAO implementation, I need to read data from database to create H-Objects (via Hibernate) and then convert H-Objects into DPI-Objects. Design #2. Do not create a general data provider interface. Expose H-Objects directly to components that use the database lib. So the user of the database library needs to be aware of Hibernate. I like design #1 more, but I don't want to create two sets of data container classes. Is that the right way to hide H-Objects and other Hibernate implementation details from the user who uses the database-based data provider? Are there any drawbacks of Design #2? I will not implement other data provider in the new future, so should I just forget about the data provider interface and use Design #2? What do you think about this? Thanks for your time!

  • Grabbing random object from ArrayList is not random.

    I am creating a method where if you pass in a parameter of type Random, then it will return a random object. Here is basically what I am trying to do: public T choose(Random r) { int randomInt = r.nextInt(randomList.size()); // randomList is just a instance variable return randomList.get(randomInt); } The random list has this the following strings:[2, 2, 2, 1, 1, 1, 1, c, c, c, a, a, a, a] Then I made a driver with the following code for (int i = 0; i < 10; i++) { System.out.print(rndList.choose(rnd)); // rnd is initialized as a static Random variable } However my outputs are not coming out random. I used the debugger and found out that my choose method generates an integer that is relatively low, so it will always print out either 2's or 1's but never c's or a's. I can't figure out why this is happening and help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Maven jaxb generate plugin to read xsd files from multiple directories

    If i have xsd file in the following directories src/main/resources/xsd src/main/resources/schema/common src/main/resources/schema/soap How can i instruct the maven jaxb plugin to generate jaxb classes using all schema files in the above directory? I can get it to generate the class files if i specify one of the folders but i cant get i dont know how to include all three folders. Here is how i generate the files for one folder: <plugin> <groupId>org.jvnet.jaxb2.maven2</groupId> <artifactId>maven-jaxb2-plugin</artifactId> <executions> <execution> <goals> <goal>generate</goal> </goals> </execution> </executions> <configuration> <schemaDirectory>src/main/resources/xsd</schemaDirectory> </configuration> </plugin> I tried adding multiple entries in the element but it just ignores all of them if i do that.   • Sensible unit test possible?

    Could a sensible unit test be written for this code which extracts a rar archive by delegating it to a capable tool on the host system if one exists? I can write a test case based on the fact that my machine runs linux and the unrar tool is installed, but if another developer who runs windows would check out the code the test would fail, although there would be nothing wrong with the extractor code. I need to find a way to write a meaningful test which is not binded to the system and unrar tool installed.   • How to stream XML data using XOM?

    Say I want to output a huge set of search results, as XML, into a PrintWriter or an OutputStream, using XOM. The resulting XML would look like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <resultset> <result> [child elements and data] </result> ... ... [1000s of result elements more] </resultset> Because the resulting XML document could be big (tens or hundreds of megabytes, perhaps), I want to output it in a streaming fashion (instead of creating the whole Document in memory and then writing that). The granularity of outputting one <result> at a time is fine, so I want to generate one <result> after another, and write it into the stream. Assume there's already a method that helps with iterating the results and generating Element objects: public nu.xom.Element getNextResult(); So I'd simply like to do something like this pseudocode (automatic flushing enabled, so don't worry about that) : open stream/writer write declaration write start tag for <resultset> while more results: write next <result> element write end tag for <resultset> close stream/writer I've been looking at Serializer, but the necessary methods, writeStartTag(Element), writeEndTag(Element), write(DocType) are protected, not public! Is there no other way than to subclass Serializer to be able to use those methods, or to manually write the start and end tags directly into the stream as Strings, bypassing XOM altogether? (The latter wouldn't be too bad in this simple example, but in the general case it would get quite ugly.) Am I missing something or is XOM just not made for this? With dom4j I could do this easily using XMLWriter - it has constructors that take a Writer or OutputStream, and methods writeOpen(Element), writeClose(Element), writeDocType(DocumentType) etc. Compare to XOM's Serializer where the only public write method is the one that takes a whole Document. Please refrain from answering if you're not familiar with XOM! I specifically want to know if and how you can do this kind of streaming with that library. (This is related to my question about the best dom4j replacement where XOM is a strong contender.)

    Hello I have an object that has a lot of attributes, each one with it's getter and setter. Each attribute has a non primitive type, that I don't know at runtime. For example, what I have is this: public class a{ private typeA attr1; private typeB attr2; public typeA getAttr1(){ return attr1; } public typeB getAttr2(){ return attr2; } public void setAttr1(typeA at){ attr1 = at; } public void setAttr2(typeB at){ attr2 = at; } } public class typeA{ public typeA(){ // doesn't matter } } public class typeB{ public typeB(){ // doesn't matter } } So, using reflection, I obtained the setter method for an attribute. Setting a value in the standard way is something like this: a test = new a(); a.setAttr1(new typeA()); But how can I do this using reflection? I already got the setAttr1() method using reflection, but I don't know how to create a new typeA object to be inserted in the setter.

    Hi there. I'm trying to use XSL-stylesheets in order to transform some generated XML-data to HTML-output. The architecture that I'm using is as follows: [Client Side] Web-Browser = [Server Side: Glassfish v3] JSP-pages - Web-Services. My web service generates some XML-data, then I want to format it with XSL-stylesheet, pass the result to JSP-page and show to user. I'm using JAXP for XSL-transformations and I want to create a javax.xml.transform.stream.StreamSource object with XSL-file stream for the javax.xml.transform.Transformer object, but I'm having a difficulty with specifying the path/URL for the XSL-file. So the question is: where should I put my XSL-stylesheets in a project and how should I access them from code? I'm using Glassfish v3 and NetBeans 6.8. Thanks.

I can get FieldError list from BindingResult, but they don't contain the text that a JSP would display in the tag.     Hello. In out project we are creating a pdf by using seam pdf and storing that pdf in the database. The user can then search up the pdf and view it in their pdf viewer. This is a small portion of the code that is generated to pdf: <p:html> <a:repeat var="file" value="#{attachment.files}" rowKeyVar="row"> <s:link action="#{fileHandler.downloadById()}" value="#{file.name}" > <f:param name="fileId" value="#{file.id}"/> </s:link> </a:repeat> When the pdf is rendered, a link is generated that points to: /project/skjenkebevilling/status/status_pdf.seam?fileId=42&actionMethod=skjenkebevilling%2Fstatus%2Fstatus_pdf.xhtml%3AfileHandler.downloadById()&cid=16 As you can see this link doesnt say much, and the servletpath seems to be missing. If I change /project with the servletpath localhost:8080/saksapp/skjenkebevilling/status/status_pdf.seam?fileId=42&actionMethod=skjenkebevilling%2Fstatus%2Fstatus_pdf.xhtml%3AfileHandler.downloadById%28%29&cid=16 Than the download file dialog appears. So my question is, does anyone know how I can input the correct link? And why this s:link doesnt seem to work? If I cannot do that, then I will need to somehow do search replace and edit the pdf, but that seems like a bit of a hack. (This is running under JBoss) Thank you for your time....

    Working in a medium size project during last 4 months - we are using JPA and Spring - I'm quite sure that JPA is not powerfull for projects that requires more than CRUD screen... Query interface is poor, Hibernate doesn't respect JPA spec all the time and lot of times I need to use hibernate classes, annotations and config. What do you guys think about JPA? Is it not good enough?

Like this however, I end up with a WEB-INF/lib containing the subdirectories from my patterns: WEB-INF/lib/external/castor-1.1.jar WEB-INF/lib/external/... Is there any way to flatten this, so the JAR files appear top-level under WEB-INF/lib, regardless of the directories specified in the patterns? I looked at mapper but it seems you cannot use them inside lib.
