• WhatsApp &amp; Tasker for Android &ndash; Read &amp; Write messages

  So, I finally gave up on all my previous the Microsoft Mobile/Phone OS devices and made my switch to Android this year. I am using my Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000 with CyanogenMod 9.1.0 (http://get.cm/get/jenkins/7086/cm-9.1.0-n7000.zip) and ClockworkMod 6.0.1.2 (http://download2.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-6.0.1.2-n7000.zip) since August this year and I am so happy with the performance and the flexibility it offers me. As a software developer by profession, I would expect most of my gadget to be highly customizable and programmable (one time or at intervals) to suit my needs as close as it can. I was introduced to Automation for Android – Tasker (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.dinglisch.android.taskerm&hl=en) via reddit (http://www.reddit.com/r/tasker) and the word ‘automation’ was enough for me to dive right into this app. Only automation that I did earlier was switching profiles depending on location on there phones. And now, just imagine a complete set of possibilities that can be automate on the phone or via the phone. I did my research and found a couple of other tools that do the same/as close as what Tasker can do and few of them are even free. There’s one even by Microsoft called on{X} (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.microsoft.onx.app&hl=en). Microsoft’s on{X} really caught my eye. You can write code for your phone on the web application by them, deploy it on your phone and even trace the flow all using your PC. Really brilliant, I love the fact that it’s all JavaScript. Here comes the but, it is still very very young and it’s policy of accessing my News Feed on Facebook is not something that I can not digest. On{X} is good, but as I said earlier, the API is not very mature and hence, I gave up on it. I bought Tasker, the best 5,00 € I spent in ages and I want to talk about it in this post. I am still a “noob” while operating this tool, but I tried my shot at automating WhatsApp (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.whatsapp&hl=en), a popular messenger for various platform. The requirement for the automation is that, if I send a WhatsApp ‘wru’ message to the phone, it should respond back giving the location and battery level of my phone. It could be useful, if you like to locate your misplaced phone or automatically reply to your partner/friend, honestly, I don’t know what you will use it - through this post, I am just introducing automating WhatsApp using Tasker. Before we begin, the following script only works when your phone is rooted as we will be accessing the WhatsApp database and type some special characters like ‘:’. • jQuery Toggle with Cookie

  I have the following toggle system, but I want it to remember what was open/closed using the jQuery cookie plugin. So for example if I open a toggle and then navigate away from the page, when I come back it should be still open. • Using Twitter OAuth for automatic status update

  I want my website to automatically post status updates to a particular twitter account using OAuth in PHP. I test this using a URL www.mysite.com/update_status but it asks me for "user name" and "password", which is fine when I am testing it. But my website will not be able to insert this user name and password before posting the status update. So the question is how can a website which is in the server, automatically post a status update to an account without user filling out the user name and password. Is there any way to bypass this? I tried saving oAuth tokens, but it's not working. Thank you for your answer in advance!

I would like to submit this form and pass a hash, having the Add.id function as the key of the hash, and the selection box option pass as the information in the hash.   Hello, I have a via with some jQuery function to get value from HTML element (to access element available and element not yet available). On of these element is a dropdown, when I select a value an another vue is added in the bottom of the page in a div. When I try to access an element added by this view, I received "undefined". What can I do ? • Persistence with Vaadin

  Hi I'm trying to learn vaadin. I'm really confused how to do any kind of application development with persistence because if I have a reference to my service layer objects, they get stored in session and I really don't want that. Persistence stuff just isn't serializable. My case is that I have an already made application that uses Spring and I'm creating a new UI for it with Vaadin. I can inject the spring stuff to my Vaadin application but that gets stored in the session. Any tips? By the way how do you post in the Vaadin forums? I can't find a post button or way to register :)

• Using Open MQ as an Oracle CEP Event Source

  I helped an Oracle CEP customer recently who wanted to use Open MQ has an event source for their Oracle CEP application.  In this case, the Oracle CEP application was being used to provide monitoring for an electronic commerce website, however, the steps for configuring Open MQ are entirely independent of the application logic. I thought I would list the configuration steps in a blog post in case they might help others in the future. Note that although the Oracle CEP documentation states that only WebLogic and Tibco JMS are "officially" supported, any JMS implementation that provides a Java client should work with Oracle CEP. The first step is to add an adapter to the application's EPN. This can be done in the usual way, using the Eclipse IDE. The end result is something like the following bit of configuration in the application's Spring application context. Note that the provider attribute value of 'jms-inbound' specifies that the out-of-the-box JMS adapter is being used. <wlevs:adapter id="helloworldAdapter" provider="jms-inbound"> </wlevs:adapter>   Next, configure the inbound adapter so that it can connect to Open MQ in the Oracle CEP configuration file (config.xml). The snippet below provides an example of what this configuration should look like. The exact values specified for jndi-provider-url, jndi-factory, connection-jndi-name, destination-jndi-name elements will depend on your Open MQ configuration.  For example , if the name of your Open MQ topic destination is 'ElectronicCommerceTopic', then you would specify that as the destination-jndi-name.  The name of your Open MQ connection factory goes in the connection-jndi-name element. In my simple example, I also specify in event-type element so that the out-of-the-box JMS adapter will attempt to automatically convert incoming messages to events of type HelloWorldEvent. In a more complex application, one would configure a custom converter on the JMS adapter to convert from messages to events.  The Oracle CEP 11.1.3 documentation describes how to do this.   <jms-adapter> <name>helloworldAdapter</name> <event-type>HelloWorldEvent</event-type> <jndi-provider-url>file:///C:/Temp</jndi-provider-url> <jndi-factory>com.sun.jndi.fscontext.RefFSContextFactory</jndi-factory> <connection-jndi-name>YourJMSConnectionFactoryName</connection-jndi-name> <destination-jndi-name>YourJMSDestinationName</destination-jndi-name> </jms-adapter>   Finally, one needs to package the client-side Open MQ jars so that the classes that they contain are available to the Oracle CEP runtime. The recommended way for doing this in the Oracle CEP 11.1.3 release is to package the classes as a library module or simply place them in the application bundle.  The advantage of deploying the classes as a library module is that they are available to any application that wants to connect to Open MQ. In my case, I packaged the classes in my application bundle. A best practice when you want to include additional jars in your application bundle is to create a 'lib' directory in your Eclipse project and then copy the required jars into that directory.  Then, use the support that Eclipse provides to add the jars to the bundle classpath (which makes the classes part of your application in the same way that regular application classes are), and export all of the classes from your application bundle so that they are available to the Oracle CEP server runtime.  The screenshot below Illustrates how this is done in Eclipse.  The bundle classpath contains two Open MQ jars and all packages in the jars are exported.     Finally, import the javax.jms and javax.naming packages into the application module as these are needed by the Open MQ classes. The screenshot below shows the complete list of package imports for my sample application.       Once you have completed these steps, you should be able to build and deploy your application and begin receiving inbound messages from Open MQ.   Hi all, This is a question about Paypal Mass Pay IPN. My platform is PHP & mySQL. All over the Paypal support website, I have found IPN for only payments made. I need an IPN on similar lines for Mass Pay but could not find it. Also tried experimenting with already existing Mass Pay NVP code, but that did not work either. What I am trying to do is that for all the recipients to whom the payment has been successfully sent via Mass Pay, I want to record their email, amount and unique_id in my own database table. If possible, I want to capture the payment status as well, whether it has been a success of failure and based upon the same, I need to do some in house processing.   G'day, I've read both of Steve McConnell's excellent Code Complete books "Code Complete" and "Code Complete 2" and was wondering if people have any other suggestions for commenting code. My commenting mantra could be summed up by the basic idea of expressing "what the code below cannot say". While enjoying this interesting blog post by Jeff about commenting I was still left wondering "When coding, when do you feel a comment is required?" Edit: Oops. Seems to be a duplicate of this question http://stackoverflow.com/questions/121945/how-do-you-like-your-comments so sorry for the noise. Thanks to my, seemingly, SO shadow for pointing it out - wouldn't have thought I was that interesting. Now off to read the original post and see if it is relevant.   Business services can be accessed from outside the application via XAI inbound service, or from within the application via scripting, Java, or info zones. Below is an example to what you can do with a business service wrapping an info zone.   Generally, a business service is specific to a page service program which references a maintenance object, that means one business service = one service program = one maintenance object. There have been quite a few threads in the forum around this topic where the business service is misconstrued to perform services only on a single object, for e.g. only for CILCSVAP - SA Page Maintenance, CILCPRMP - Premise Page Maintenance, CILCACCP - Account Page Maintenance, etc.   So what do you do when you want to retrieve some "non-persistent" field or information associated with some object/entity? Consider few business requirements: ·         Retrieve all the field activities associated to an account. ·         Retrieve the last bill date for an account. ·         Retrieve next bill date for an account.   It can be as simple as described below, for this post, we'll use the first scenario - Retrieve all the field activities associated to an account. • Paypal subscription API - transaction variables not POSTed

  I am writing a payments system based around paypal, I am using the HTML 'API'. I am passing the following form fields to PayPal: 'rm' = 2 'return = http://www.example.com/payment-handler.php?token=sometoken Where 'token' is a token I generated. According to the paypal documentation, a return method (rm) of 2 indicates to Paypal that the transaction data be posted back to the callback url using the POST method. When processing items using 'buy_now' buttons, the transaction items are correctly POSTed to my callback url (payment-handler.php), but for 'subscribe' operations, although the callback url is called, no POST data is sent to the url, and also, the 'token' field is missing. Instead, there is a parameter called 'auth'. I cant see anything in the paypal docs about a 'auth' field - so I dont know whats generating it and if I can reliably using it. Can anyone shed some light on this?

  Myself and some colleagues have just been told that we are all taking the EPiServer CMS certification exam on Friday. Having done some research on the web it does sound like a challenging exam - I've heard that only one in six people pass it. There doesn't seem to be much in the way of learning material, beyond what is described on the EPiServer site, this blog post and this blog post. Has anyone else out there passed recently and if so can they provide any hints or tips? Any help would be appreciated.

• In JQuery 1.4.2 .ajax converts JSON wrong.

  My code worked fine in JQuery 1.3.2, but in 1.4.2 it seems to be broken. What is should get in the post is something like this: ?pks=108;pks=107 What I now get is: ?pks[]=108;pks[]=107; When I trace this code through, the JSON object seems to be fine until it enters .ajax. Firebug after the response is received shows the post was: Parameters application/x-www-form-urlencoded pks[] 108 pks[] 107 Source pks%5B%5D=108&pks%5B%5D=107 Which is not what I got on JQuery 1.3.2. Where are those extra braces coming from?

• Building dictionary of words from large text

  I have a text file containing posts in English/Italian. I would like to read the posts into a data matrix so that each row represents a post and each column a word. The cells in the matrix are the counts of how many times each word appears in the post. The dictionary should consist of all the words in the whole file or a non exhaustive English/Italian dictionary. I know this is a common essential preprocessing step for NLP. Does anyone know of a tool\project that can perform this task? Someone mentioned apache lucene, do you know if lucene index can be serialized to a data-structure similar to my needs?
