  • Custom Key Bindings in SWT

    - by Dimitar
Hey all, Is it at all possible to add custom key bindings to buttons in SWT? I can't use & in the text of the button to set a mnenomic because my buttons have no text (only an image). Is there a good way to do this using key listeners or is there something like the input/action map in swing? Thanks in advance.

  • How to generate an ear file from a maven-archetype-webapp artifact?

    - by Mike
I currently have a project built with maven-archetype-webapp artifact. The default packaging for this project is war. Is it possible for me to insert the maven-ear-plugin in this webapp pom.xml generate an ear file that contains this project war? I tried that, but the war file doesn't get embedded in the generated ear file. It has everything except the war file. I read many Maven related articles, and perhaps I could use maven-archetype-j2ee-simple artifact. However, I'm reluctant to this use for 2 reasons:- This artifact handles ejbs and all the extra features that I don't use. It makes my project looks bloated. Second, it seems like it requires me to install the web module into the repository first before I can create the ear file. Is this the preferred way to create an ear file? How do I create an ear file that contains the war file using maven-ear-plugin from my webapp's pom.xml? If this way is not possible, what's the preferred way? I'm sorry if my questions sound a little novice, I realized I have whole lot more to learn about Maven. Thanks much.

  • how to show integer values in JComboBox?

    - by Edan
Hello, I would like to know how to set a JComboBox that contain integers values that I could save. Here is the definitions of values: public class Item { private String itemDesc; private int itemType; public static int ENTREE=0; public static int MAIN_MEAL=1; public static int DESSERT=2; public static int DRINK=3; private float price; int[] itemTypeArray = { ENTREE, MAIN_MEAL, DESSERT, DRINK }; Object[][] data = {{itemDesc, new Integer(itemType), new Float(price)}}; . . . } Now, I want the add a JComboBox that the user will choose 1 of the items (ENTREE, MAIN_MEAL...) and then I could set the number as an Integer. I know that JComboBox need to be something like that: JComboBox combo = new JComboBox(itemTypeArray.values()); JOptionPane.showMessageDialog( null, combo,"Please Enter Item Type", `JOptionPane.QUESTION_MESSAGE);` What am I doing wrong?

  • Perf4J Graph Output from Log File

    - by manyxcxi
I currently have a long running process that I am trying to analyze with Perf4J. I currently have it writing results in CSV format to its own log file using the AsyncCoalescingStatisticsAppender and a StatisticsCsvLayout on the file appender. My question is; when I try and use the --graph option from the command line (using the perf4j jar) it isn't populating the data points- it isn't populating anything. Are my appenders set incorrectly? The log file contains hundreds (sometimes thousands) of data points of about 10 different tag names. <appender name="perfAppender" class="org.apache.log4j.FileAppender"> <param name="File" value="perfStats.log"/> <layout class="org.perf4j.log4j.StatisticsCsvLayout"> </layout> </appender> <appender name="CoalescingStatistics" class="org.perf4j.log4j.AsyncCoalescingStatisticsAppender"> <!-- The TimeSlice option is used to determine the time window for which all received StopWatch logs are aggregated to create a single GroupedTimingStatistics log. Here we set it to 10 seconds, overriding the default of 30000 ms --> <param name="TimeSlice" value="10000"/> <appender-ref ref="ConsoleAppender"/> <appender-ref ref="CompositeRollingFileAppender"/> <appender-ref ref="perfAppender"/> </appender>

  • How to set JtextArea to keep fixed no of rows?

    - by Hippo
How can i keep no of rows constant in text area. I need to create a console window for my application. If rows exceeds predefined no of rows first rows must get disposed. As if first written row will be destroyed first when i append anything which exceeds no of rows set. One more thing , i need to keep vertical scroll bar. That means no of rows must not be the whatever rows are visible when text area it opened. For example : - no of visible rows on view port are 30. It should keep 120 rows information, which will can be seen with the help of scroll bar.

  • How build my own Application Setting

    - by adisembiring
I want to build a ApplicationSetting for my application. The ApplicationSetting can be stored in a properties file or in a database table. The settings are stored in key-value pairs. E.g. ftp.host = blade ftp.username = dummy ftp.pass = pass content.row_pagination = 20 content.title = How to train your dragon. I have designed it as follows: Application settings reader: interface IApplicationSettingReader { read(); } DatabaseApplicationSettingReader { dao appSettingDao; AppSettings read() { List<AppSettingEntity> listEntity = appSettingsDao.findAll(); Map<String, String> map = new HaspMap<String, String>(); foreach (AppSettingEntity entity : listEntity) { map.put(entity.getConfigName(), entity.getConfigValue()); } return new AppSettings(map); } } DatabaseApplicationSettingReader { dao appSettingDao; AppSettings read() { //read from some properties file return new AppSettings(map); } } Application settings class: AppSettings { private static AppSettings instance; private Map map; Public AppSettings(Map map) { this.map = map; } public static AppSettings getInstance() { if (instance == null) { throw new RuntimeException("Object not configure yet"); } return instance; } public static configure(IApplicationSettingReader reader) { instance = reader.read(); } public String getFtpSetting(String param) { return map.get("ftp." + param); } public String getContentSetting(String param) { return map.get("content." + param); } } Test class: AppSettingsTest { IApplicationSettingReader reader; @Before public void setUp() throws Exception { reader = new DatabaseApplicationSettingReader(); } @Test public void getContentSetting_should_get_content_title() { AppSettings.configure(reader); Instance settings = AppSettings.getInstance(); String title = settings.getContentSetting("title"); assertNotNull(title); Sysout(title); } } My questions are: Can you give your opinion about my code, is there something wrong? I configure my application setting once, while the application start, I configure the application setting with appropriate reader (DbReader or PropertiesReader), I make it singleton. The problem is, when some user edit the database or file directly to database or file, I can't get the changed values. Now, I want to implement something like ApplicationSettingChangeListener. So if the data changes, I will refresh my application settings. Do you have any suggestions how this can be implemented?

  • Collections of generics

    - by Luis Sep
According to what I've read, I think this can't be done, but I'd like to be sure. I have a class OpDTO and several other *DTO extends OpDTO. Then, I want to have a method to extract just certain elements from lists of these child DTOs, and return the extracted elements in another list: public List<? extends OpDTO> getLastOp (List<? extends OpDTO> listDTOs) { List<? extends OpDTO> last = new ArrayList<? extends OpDTO>(); //compile error: Cannot instantiate the type ArrayList<? extends OpDTO> //processing return last; } I want ult to be a list of elements of the same kind as elements in listDTOs, and use only OpDTO's methods, but it produces a compile error: Cannot instantiate the type ArrayList<? extends OpDTO> I also tried doing something like: public <T> List<T> getLastOp (List<T> listDTOs) { List<T> last = new ArrayList<T>(); //processing return last; } But then I can't enforce elements in listDTOs to be a subclass of OpDTO, and can't instantiate T. Any idea?

    - by Gabriel A. Zorrilla

The thing is, it just shows two 10 pixel width, 100% JFrame height strips: What i want to do is to setsize each panel having as end result that the jpanel on the west be 80% of the jframe width, the remaining 20% to the one on the east. Is it possible? Should I use another layout? Thanks a lot.

  • Best way to access database from android

    - by Brandon Delany
I am working on a Android app and I have a dilemma. I have a list of Objects. I have to update each of these objects with a database. I have 2 methods: Method 1: I can loop through the Objects. For each object I can connect to the server, update it, and then move on to the next Object, and so forth. Method 2: I can store the Objects in a list, send the whole list to the server, update it on the server side, then return a list of updated objects. My questions are: Which method is faster? Which method is easier on the phone's battery? By the way, Method 1 is easier for me to code :). Thank you.

  • how to programmatically register an already setup bean to spring context

    - by lisak
Hey, I'm wondering how one can do that. Afaik there is BeanFactoryPostProcessor interface that let us use BeanDefinitionRegistry.registerBeanDefinition() method before beans within context are initialized. That method accepts only a class / definition. But usually one needs to register a bean that is already set with properties. Otherwise the bean definition registration itself is kinda useless. I don't want to set it up additionally after I get it from context then. When using singleton it's ok, but for prototypes I'd have to set the bean up for each getBean() .

  • Wicket and Spring Intergation

    - by Vinothbabu
I have a wicket contact form, and i receive the form object. Now i need to pass this object to Spring Service. package com.mysticcoders.mysticpaste.web.pages; import org.apache.wicket.markup.html.WebPage; import org.apache.wicket.markup.html.form.Form; import org.apache.wicket.markup.html.form.TextField; import org.apache.wicket.markup.html.panel.FeedbackPanel; import com.mysticcoders.mysticpaste.model.Contact; import org.apache.wicket.model.CompoundPropertyModel; import com.mysticcoders.mysticpaste.services.IContact; public class FormPage extends WebPage { private Contact contact; private IContact icontact; public FormPage() { // Add a FeedbackPanel for displaying our messages FeedbackPanel feedbackPanel = new FeedbackPanel("feedback"); add(feedbackPanel); Form<Object> form = new Form<Object>("contactForm", new CompoundPropertyModel<Object>(contact)) { private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L; protected void onSubmit(Contact contact) { icontact.saveContact(contact); } }; form.add(new TextField<Object>("name")); form.add(new TextField<Object>("email")); form.add(new TextField<Object>("country")); form.add(new TextField<Object>("age")); add(form); // add a simple text field that uses Input's 'text' property. Nothing // can go wrong here } } I am pretty much sure that we need to do something with application-context xml where i may need to wire out. My Application-context.xml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:tx="http://www.springframework.org/schema/tx" xsi:schemaLocation=" http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans/spring-beans-2.5.xsd http://www.springframework.org/schema/tx http://www.springframework.org/schema/tx/spring-tx-2.5.xsd"> <bean id="WicketApplication" class="com.mysticcoders.mysticpaste.web.pages.WicketApplication" /> </beans> My Question is simple. What should i do which can make my onSubmit method call the Spring Service? Could someone let me know what needs to modified in my Application-context.xml so that once the form gets submitted, it contacts the Spring Service class.

  • Classloading order in JBoss

    - by Spiderman
I'd like to know if the default behavior of JBoss server (4.2.3.GA in my case) is loading the classes in parent-first or parent-last mode. And in case it work as I suspect in parent-last mode (i.e. first trying to load classes from the application's WEB-INF/lib and only if they are not found go to server\lib), how can I configure it to work in the opposite- first trying to load classes from outside and only looking inside the application afterwards.

  • lwjgl 101: How can I write applets?

    - by Vuntic
I have a working app in lwjgl. It doesn't do much yet; I've just started, but it does compile and run like it's supposed to. I want to make it into an applet. I've followed the guide here, and I have an applet that runs nicely and displays text and such in the applet area and can access the functions of lwjgl (like Sys.alert), but I can't figure out how to get opengl to actually render. I've tried extending an AWTGLCanvas and calling this.add(myAWTGLCanvas), where this is the Applet that I'm using, but... nothing. The initGL() and paintGL() methods never get called. I wonder if I'm supposed to be doing something with Display, but that's not for applets, right? Help? Also: This counts as a "beginner" question, right? Edit: Here's a simplified version of what I have.

  • How to create a JAX-RS service where the sub-resource @Path doesn't have a leading slash

    - by Matt
I've created a JAX-RS service (MyService) that has a number of sub resources, each of which is a subclass of MySubResource. The sub resource class being chosen is picked based on the parameters given in the MyService path, for example: @Path("/") @Provides({"text/html", "text/xml"}) public class MyResource { @Path("people/{id}") public MySubResource getPeople(@PathParam("id") String id) { return new MyPeopleSubResource(id); } @Path("places/{id}") public MySubResource getPlaces(@PathParam("id") String id) { return new MyPlacesSubResource(id); } } where MyPlacesSubResource and MyPeopleSubResource are both sub-classes of MySubResource. MySubResource is defined as: public abstract class MySubResource { protected abstract Results getResults(); @GET public Results get() { return getResults(); } @GET @Path("xml") public Response getXml() { return Response.ok(getResults(), MediaType.TEXT_XML_TYPE).build(); } @GET @Path("html") public Response getHtml() { return Response.ok(getResults(), MediaType.TEXT_HTML_TYPE).build(); } } Results is processed by corresponding MessageBodyWriters depending on the mimetype of the response. While this works it results in paths like /people/Bob/html or /people/Bob/xml where what I really want is /people/Bob.html or /people/Bob.xml Does anybody know how to accomplish what I want to do?
