  • jqGrid cell editing need to position the error message dialog

    - by Harv
I'm using jqGrid with cell editing. I have setup the colModel properties using the editrules option. Everything works fine in that if I edit a cell and try to save an invalid value the grid displays an error dialog, but I need to know how to position the error message dialog that comes up because in the case of my layout it ends up behind a video. I'm not quite sure how to hook into this and there don't seem to be any obvious options on how to do it.

  • Looking for replacement for Snippet Compiler

    - by Scott Bilas
I have been using Snippet Compiler for a few years, and it's great. Unfortunately, it isn't getting maintained, and is falling behind. Doesn't support .NET 4, which we recently switched to, and even some C# 3 features like extension methods get flagged as errors (though they do compile). Alternatives?

  • Anonymous methods/functions: a fundamental feature or a violation of OO principles?

    - by RD1
Is the recent movement towards anonymous methods/functions by mainstream languages like perl and C# something important, or a weird feature that violates OO principles? Are recent libraries like the most recent version of Intel's Thread Building Blocks and Microsofts PPL and Linq that depend on such things a good thing, or not? Are languages that currently reject anonymous methods/functions, like Java, making wise choices in sticking with a purely OO model, or are they falling behind by lacking a fundamental programming feature?

  • Non-modal WinForms FontDialog?

    - by McKenzieG1
Is it possible to display the WinForms "font picker" dialog non-modally? Or is there another font picker other than the standard one that can be used non-modally? Our application has many windows, and users who frequently need to interrupt what they are doing and switch to another window to look at something. This tends to lead to "buried dialog" scenarios with modal dialogs, where the UI is unresponsive, but it isn't immediately apparent why, because the modal dialog that has captured the focus is behind another window.

  • Network communication across two private network

I want to know if there are any ways i can use the same sort of communication when the two peers are behind two private Networks (They dont know each others public ip address.) I can think of a shared buffer in a well known location as a means of communication. But is there some other way to get this done?

  • Many-to-many relations in RDBMS databases

    - by Industrial
What is the best way of handling many-to-many relations in a RDBMS database like mySQL? Have tried using a pivot table to keep track of the relationships, but it leads to either one of the following: Normalization gets left behind Columns that is empty or null What approach have you taken in order to support many-to-many relationships?

  • WPF Applications Size Vs Winforms App Size

    - by jmayor
Does WPF compiled code is bigger or smaller than Winform compiled code? Does WPF generates more code behind that Winform does? I have a Winform App and I want to make a new version on WPF. Customers get the updates of this app by dowloading it. So my question is, If I make the application now on WPF just using the same screens how bigger can it be the compiled solution compared to the WinForm version.

  • iPhone - move above buttons

    - by Mike
I have a video at 320x240 on the middle of the screen area. Around this video, several buttons that will call different actions. When the MPMoviePlayerController is fired and the movie starts playing the buttons are behind the video and I cannot click them. I see them but they are not clickable. I think the video window is covering the whole area. How can I solve that?

  • Preventing browser loading indicator with Chrome + GWT-rpc.

    - by Jeeyoung Kim
Hello. I'm writing a ajax chatting webapp, just to test working with GWT. To simulate server side push of chat messages from the server to the browser, I have a XHR request running behind. It all works fine - except on Chrome, the browser is displaying a loading icon (a spinner) because of the XHR request on background. Is there any way to avoid this? I've tested it in Firefox, and it doesn't display such behavior.

I have a Sprite behind the Papervision3D scene listening for mouse events and so i need to let it pick up those mouse events through some of the DisplayObject3D objects. I've tried adding the DisplayObject3D to a separate ViewportLayer and setting thats mouseEnabled to false but that doesn't seem to work. Please help! Thanks.

  • How to avoid re-drawing all views in an ArrayAdapter

    - by Hamy
Hey all, I have an ArrayAdapter powering a ListView. I would like to change the data behind the ArrayAdapter and update the ListView's. Sounds like notifyDataSetChanged(); would be exactly what I am looking for, but it updates the entire ListView, and I would prefer to update on a row-by-row basis. Is there a way to do this with ArrayAdapter, or do I need to manage my data some other way if I want this functionality?

  • Single Sign on- From our customer's Active Directory

    - by jbarker7
We have an ASP.NET MVC website that a customer is requesting Active Directory single sign on. My thought is that we will need something behind their firewall in order to send encrypted credentials or a user's ID over to our server... any best practices or products that do this would be extremely helpful! Thanks! jbarker7

  • Naming conventions for private members of .NET types

    - by Joan Venge
Normally when I have a private field inside a class or a struct, I use camelCasing, so it would be obvious that it's indeed private when you see the name of it, but in some of my colleagues' C# code, I see that they use m_ mostly or sometimes _, like there is some sort of convention. Aren't .NET naming conventions prevent you from using underscores for member names? And when you mention the MS naming conventions or what not, they tell you it's the best way, but don't explain the reasoning behind it.

Hello, I've got an existing asp.net project written in vb.net. Another person has written a user control in c#. Could you please let me know the steps for adding that C# user control to the vb.net app? I've tried copying them to the folder and using "Add existing item", however it doesn't compile the code behind at all. Thanks, Fidel

Using; jquery-1.3.2.min.js jquery-ui-1.7.2.custom.min.js jquery.blockUI.js Cheers

  • STUN, TURN, ICE library for Java.

    - by Hemeroc
I need to establish a P2P UDP and TCP Connection between two Users. Both of them are behind a NAT. A little research leads me to STUN, TURN and ICE. Is there any Java solution (library) except jSTUN which seems to work only on UDP. And TURN, ICE is much better for the symmetric NAT Problem.

  • Why does KeyDown event not have access to the current value of bound variable?

    - by Edward Tanguay
    In the example below: I start program, type text, click button, see text above. Press ENTER see text again. BUT: I start program, type text, press ENTER, see no text. It seems that the KeyDown event doesn't get access to the current value of the bound variable, as if it is always "one behind". What do I have to change so that when I press ENTER I have access to the value that is in the textbox so I can add it to the chat window? XAML: <Window x:Class="TestScroll.Window1" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="Window1" Height="290" Width="300" Background="#eee"> <StackPanel Margin="10"> <ScrollViewer Height="200" Width="260" Margin="0 0 0 10" VerticalScrollBarVisibility="Auto" HorizontalScrollBarVisibility="Auto"> <TextBlock Text="{Binding TextContent}" Background="#fff"/> </ScrollViewer> <StackPanel HorizontalAlignment="Left" Orientation="Horizontal"> <TextBox x:Name="TheLineTextBox" Text="{Binding TheLine}" Width="205" Margin="0 0 5 0" KeyDown="TheLineTextBox_KeyDown"/> <Button Content="Enter" Click="Button_Click"/> </StackPanel> </StackPanel> </Window> Code-Behind: using System; using System.Windows; using System.Windows.Input; using System.ComponentModel; namespace TestScroll { public partial class Window1 : Window, INotifyPropertyChanged { #region ViewModelProperty: TextContent private string _textContent; public string TextContent { get { return _textContent; } set { _textContent = value; OnPropertyChanged("TextContent"); } } #endregion #region ViewModelProperty: TheLine private string _theLine; public string TheLine { get { return _theLine; } set { _theLine = value; OnPropertyChanged("TheLine"); } } #endregion public Window1() { InitializeComponent(); DataContext = this; TheLineTextBox.Focus(); } private void Button_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { AddLine(); } void AddLine() { TextContent += TheLine + Environment.NewLine; } private void TheLineTextBox_KeyDown(object sender, KeyEventArgs e) { if (e.Key == Key.Return) { AddLine(); } } #region INotifiedProperty Block public event PropertyChangedEventHandler PropertyChanged; protected void OnPropertyChanged(string propertyName) { PropertyChangedEventHandler handler = PropertyChanged; if (handler != null) { handler(this, new PropertyChangedEventArgs(propertyName)); } } #endregion } }
