How To Draw More Precise Lines using Core Graphics and CALayer

Hello I am having a hard time making this UI element look the way I want (see screenshot). Notice the image on the right--how the line width and darkness looks inconsistent compared to the image on the left (which happens to be a screen grab from safari) where the border width is more consistent. How does apple make their lines so perfect? I'm using a CALayer and the Core Graphics API to draw the image on the right. Is it possible to draw such perfect lines with the standard apis?

jQuery in sharepoint retruning Object Expected

When I add jquery to sharepoint 2007 (MOSS) and try and use it on a page no matter what I write on the client i get an "object expected" at the line/column where the "$" appears. I have used fiddler to check that the client is downloading the query JS (which it is) But its like its being ignore and therefor eth "$" is not understood. Searching google everybody is saying its the selector not finding the elements but see code below I do not see how it can not find my very simple example. Is there a fully-functional dropdown replacement for HTML SELECT that works in IE?

Is there an alternative widget that you would recommend from your experience that meets the following requirements? Respects the contentEditable property (does not allow selection changes if true) Respects the disabled property of individual OPTIONs (shows them "grayed out" or with strike-through font, and makes them un-selectable) Supports Option Groups (OPTGROUP elements) Supports style options such as border and margin in the SELECT and all sub-elements Supports dynamic add and delete of OPTION and OPTGROUP elements Supports the above in IE version 6 and above EDIT: As noted by @Joel Coehoorn, items 3 and 5 above are currently supported in IE. Hey People, I'm starting to pull my hair out of my head... Now in Chrome and FF, it is 1px wider than the window, causing an H scrollbar... Why is that? What SHOULD I be using instead? Thanks a lot! Albert

Optimize css vs Google page speed is messing with me

How to make it more efficient? I will not add a class to the thead and tfoot for googles's sake.

Hi, Can we change the width of the datagrid column dynamically by clicking on the border of the column in order to display the complete string which is too long to be displayed and needs to be scrolled ? If so, How ? Also, how can we ensure that the column width changes dynamically based on the number of characters / length of string; since many a times the data is too long to be displayed. Can we set the column width to take the length of data into consideration before displaying onto the datagrid ?

Am I going about this the right way?

Hey Guys, I'm starting a WPF project, and just finished the base of the UI, it seems very convoluted though, so I'm not sure if I've gone around laying it out in the right way. I don't want to get to start developing the back-end and realise that I've done the front wrong, and make life harder for myself. Coming from a background of <DIV's and CSS to style this is a lot different, and really want to get it right from the start. Essentially it's a one week calendar (7 days, Mon-Sunday, defaulting to the current week.) Which will eventually link up to a DB and if I have an appointment for something on this day it will show it in the relevant day. I've opted for a Grid rather than ListView because of the way it will work I will not be binding the results to a collection or anything along those lines. Rather I will be filling out a Combo box within the canvas for each day (yet to be placed in the code) for each event and on selection it will show me further details. Ext JS how to tell PagingToolbar to use parent Grid storage?

I'm trying to build application that use single config passed by server as non native JSON (can contain functions). Everything works fine so far but I'm curious why PagingToolbar does not have an option to use parent Grid store? I have tried to set store in my config like this, but without success: {... store:Ext.StoreMgr.lookup('unique_store_id') } Is there any way to do so without writing tons of javascript for each view defining store, grid and other items in my application or at least extend functionality of PaginationToolbar that use options from parent object? Clear validation on textInput when validation is not enabled

Hi, I've created a custom textInput componenet that handles it's own validation using a private validator. The validation is enabled depending on the state of the component i.e. validation is enable when the components state is "edit". However, when the state changes from edit the internal validator is set to not enabled but the validation errors on the textbox do not clear - the textInput still has the red border and on mouseover the validation errors come up. What I want to happen is that when a validator is disabled the error formatting and error messages clear from the text input control. Does anyone have any idea how to do this I tried setting the internal validator instance to enabled = false and dispatching a new focusOutEvent as below but the validation error formatting is still applied to the textInput contrl. _validatorInstance.enabled = false; //clear the validation errors if any dispatchEvent(new FocusEvent(FocusEvent.FOCUS_OUT)); Any ideas? I am trying to work out how to grab the variable #XXX from a text file (css file) containing strings like hr { margin: 18px 0 17px; border-color: #ccc; } h1 a:hover, h2 a:hover, h3 a:hover { color: #001100; } Which I would like to return as ccc 777 The plan then is to throw this through sort and uniq and the end up with a defining colourscheme for the page. Basically, I can't work out how to go from matching /color:#...[...]/ to just printing out the wildcarded sections.

iTextSharp and VBnet question about headers

Hello! I'm wondering how can I put a header into my pdf file, cause i've tried the tutorials from here: http://itextsharp.sourceforge.net/tutorial/ch04.html And it have not worked. Ive done this: Dim head As New HeaderFooter(New Phrase("This is page: "), False) head.Border = Rectangle.NO_BORDER document.Header = head But VS2008 says that HeaderFooter it's not defined (line 1), and Footer it's not a member of "iTextSharp.text.document" (line 3). I've already included the imports at the begining of my code and i don't have any other problems with the iTextsharps (i mean that it is working apart of the header problem): Imports iTextSharp.text Imports iTextSharp.text.pdf Imports System.Data.SQLite Imports System.IO So please, can anyone explain to me how can i set a header for my pages? DIV overlap on top of submit order INPUT button not working right in IE7

I created a test account at www.avaline.com: username: [email protected] pass:test02 I'll keep the account around so you can see what's going on with this submit button without going through the registration process (and needing to fill in a fake address, etc). If logging in doesn't work, you can create your own test account though. Make sure at least one item is in your shopping cart, hit "proceed to checkout", and check off "PayPal" as your payment method (this way the payment won't go through for testing purposes). Once you're on the "review and submit" page, in IE7 (at least), hover over the "pay with Paypal" button, and you'll see that the cursor is a hand when you hover over the text or the button border, but it's a regular arrow when you hover over the button part. If you try clicking on the arrow-cursor area, you'll get the error that you should see...but if you click on the hand-cursor area, you get redirected to the paypal page. In FF, the #hidSubm DIV covers the "Pay with Paypal" button. Why isn't it working in IE7?

Overflow issue in IE 7

jquery ui tabs major style change

I am using jquery UI tabs and I need to majorly change the styling on it. I need to rempve the background image, the borders, almost everything. I need it to look minimal, and not like it's self contained. What's the best way to do this? I need to use the default UI styling for the calendar widget however, which is on the same page. I've done a lot of research and everyone seems to point to the theme-roller. However, i do not just want to change the colors and border radii. I need to delete crap. theme-roller seems to be just change things like colors (not really useful for the real world) Is it even worth using jquery UI for my tabs?

Sign Up form text shows white with a white background

I have a signup form on a website that I am developing using dreamweaver. The input text and background text are both showing as white (or not showing!) even though the page text is set at #0000CC. Finding the centeroid of a polygon?

I have tried: for each vertex, add to total, divide by number of verities to get center. I'v also tried: Find the topmost, bottommost - get midpoint... find leftmost, rightmost, find midpoint. Both of these did not return the perfect center because I'm relying on the center to scale a polygon. I want to scale my polygons so I may put a border around them. What is the best way to find the centroid of a polygon given that the polygon may be concave, convex and have many many sides of various lengths. Thanks

How can I prevent Telerik RadChart from generating an onerror attribute?

We're using the Telerik Rad Controls for ASP.Net Ajax on an ASP.Net MVC project. I can't see any way to control the markup that this control generates. Google searches provide no help. Has anyone dealt with this before? How do I remove the onerror attribute?
