  • Getting content with images into the Web Browser control without temporary files

    For a client server application, I'd like to display content with a web browser control with images without writing temporary files to the disk. I've tried using mht files via documentstream and documenttext, but the web browser control isn't smart enough to recognize mht files. I would use data URI images, however most computers this will be installed on use IE6 or 7. Are there any other options for this?

    For slightly complicated reasons we tend to give people console access to VMs via the webui. This has worked fine in the past, however when the users update their client machines to Windows 7 (or Vista, I am told, although I have not tested that), then the console fails to work. On IE8, having allowed the ActiveX control, the tab causes a "Internet Explorer has stopped working" dialog. On Firefox 3.5 , once the plugin has been installed, using the console causes the browser to crash. I've updated to the most recent VC 2.5 release, and ESX 3.5u5. Anyone else seeing this? Any clues how to get round it (other than using the fat client). Nigel.

    In one of the ASP.NET MVC apps we would like to logoff the user automatically if he closes the browser tab in which the app is opened. We are using the following code when he authenticates. FormsAuthentication.SetAuthCookie(userName, false) As of now, if we closes the browser window and relaunch it, users are asked to authenticate again. But we want to ask users to authenticate again if they close the tab and try to access any of the website urls.

    I'm using VWD Express 2008 to develop a WPF Browser Application. When I start debugging, it launches the XBAP in my default browser, which is Opera. Obviously, XBAPs don't work in Opera, so I have to repeatedly right-click on the document to open in IE. Is there any way to change the settings for PresentationHost.exe so that it always opens with IE? A registry setting, perhaps?

The provider of the system blames the client's computer, and the client calls me for help. I blame the provider, but it is hard to get them to do something about it without rock-solid evidence. And every time the provider comes around for a TeamViewer session, everything of course runs smoothly.     I have started Tightvncserver on Lubuntu 12.04 via the command $ tightvncserver -geometry 800x600 -depth 16 :2 VNC server successfully started and I got message like follows. New 'X' desktop is gateway:2 Starting applications specified in /home/dolv/.vnc/xstartup Log file is /home/dolv/.vnc/gateway:2.log Then I've successfully loged in from remote PC using realvncclient. Trying to start Chromium-browser from menu... no luck. There was one more attempt: I opened the LXTerminal from menu. Trying to start is from terminal with the command /usr/bim/chromium-browser & it returned the message like follows: Xlib: extention "RANDR" missing on desktop :2 I have also discovered that after my two attampts the chromium-browser has created 2 new windows on the host on which was session running on display :0 The Question: How to make the browser start on that display from which it was called (in my occasion from vnc session display)?

    I'm trying to gather some ammunition about my ISP and it's aggressive traffic shaping of particular websites. So I'm looking for an application that will allow me to see what speeds I get to particular websites. I want to open a browser connection to a particular video streaming website for example and see the speed of the connection that gets made, be it http or plain tcp. I'm after something along the lines of TCPView but unfortunately this doesn't include transfer speeds. I'm half tempted to write one myself but hopefully something will already be out there that does the job.

CodeMirror has a good syntax highlighting support but does not seem to support auto-completion.     I am using Linux mint OS since an Year , I use to consistently download updates and install , I use chrome as a default browser , when ever I open youtube and watch some video , I listen to some repetition in sound ( say repeated lyrics of song ) while it is playing , In firefox it is working fine . What is the problem am I missing any plugin , AFAIK Chrome doesn't need a flash player plug in , It has a built in flash player . IS that the problem ? And also previously I was not facing this , recently I started using Cinimon UI centOS after this all these kind of problems started MY hard ware is 64 bit intel core i3 and also I have installed linux mint 64 bit Please let me know what is the problem and how to fix this .   • IE9 HANGS: jquery based webapp hanging ONLY with IE9

    I'm stuck on this issue since days... This is the site I'm talking about. It is a webapp which makes large use of backbone, visualsearch, jquery plugins. This website is not working at the moment with IE8, but it's fine that it works with IE9...if just it would! What happens is that the website hangs when loaded ONLY with IE9 and (this is bizarre!) if the profiler tool of IE9 developer tools is ON it doesn't!! It also happens to oher people (I was notified of that) so I'm pretty sure it's not an issue linked to my browser settings. It makes me think about an error which has something to do with delays, or iterative functions which, in presence of profiler, are forced to delay bte cycles and so to leave free time slots to other functions which render the page. I can update with more details if needed. thanks.

    I have the latest vmware server isntalled on ubuntu 8.04 lts 64 bit. I access the user interface over this url, which matches my ip and port settings: https://10.1.1.99:11222/ui Sometimes it works in fierofox 3.6, but sometimes not. Same in Google Chrome. When it does not work, what happens is that the cert is checked, the browser is loading something, but the result is a white page. Sometimes the favicon of vmware (blue with 3 squares) appears, but only the white page. And sometimes it works. I reload many times, most of the time the whit epage appears again. On some days I succeed. But on many days not. I can give more info if someone tells me what is needed. Please help, we need this badly.

    In Visual Studio 2010 (RC) there is no longer a "browse with" context menu when right clicking .aspx pages. How can you change the default browser now? By default it seems to use the operating system default browser, but I would prefer to use IE when debugging ASP.net apps. (I am testing this with ASP.net MVC 2)
