• Web-based interface is mangled

  Linksys WRT54 - over the last couple days i've been in and out of network configuration screens of my DSL modem and the router (and the commandline for that matter) as I've installed the DynDNS service. (thankx to subsonic and DynDNS.com i'm now able to stream my workstations MP3 catalog over my wife's Droid - making me her tech hero all over again) Somewhere after getting all the net ducks lined up - ports forwarded and firewalls configured - the web-interface for the router ceased rendering the full page - it's only rendering parts, i can F5/refresh and it re-renders and displays some of the cells (table-based webpage) but omits others that _had rendered before the refresh. Happens for both IE and FF. And continues after a reboot. Probably need to re-cycle the router itself but is this known behavior or should i look deeper for a cause? thx

• Redirect 'host-based' requests to a port (inside a docker container)

  I'm trying to achieve this fun project of having multiple 'postfix/dovecot' instances inside a docker container. I'm searching for 'something' that would redirect any incoming request on port 25 (any maybe later 143, 993) to the right container on a different port. Here's the idea : +-------+ +----------+ (internet)----(port 25) |mainbox| ---- (port 52032) |container1| (postfix) +-------+ | +----------+ \ (port 52033) +----------+ |container2| (postfix) +----------+ So the idea is to 'redirect' requests coming to port 25 and based on 'hostname' to forward to the right port (internally); ideally, it would be great to manage this 'mapping' with a database/textfile Any ideas ? Directions ?

  I realize some similar questions have been asked along these lines before, but from reading-through them today, it appears they don't match my use case. I am looking for a web-based, non-hosted time and project tracking tool. I've downloaded Collabtive so far, but am looking for other suggestions, too. My list of requirements: runs on standard LAMP stack non-hosted (ie, there is an option to download and run it on a local server) not a desktop/single-user application easy-to-use - my audience is a mix of technical and non-technical folks easy to maintain - when time for upgrading comes, I'd really like to not have to rebuild the app (a la ./configure ; make ; make install) needs to support multiple users free-form project additions: we don't have a central project management authority (users should be able to add whatever they're working on, not merely from a drop-down) Does anyone here have experience with such tools? It doesn't have to be free.. but free is always nice :)

• Exchange 2007: relay only from selected servers based on rDNS

  I'm looking for a way to make Exchange 2007 only accept mail from a certain group of hosts. These hosts all use the same identifying rDNS entry. Exchange 2003 uses a whitelist based on the reverse DNS, there we could add the hostname to the to the "Domain" field. However, in Exchange 2007 this option seems to be removed. Is there a way to do this? IP's however tend to change. These changes can occur at any time, and it is impossible to keep all the servers up-to-date to the new IP's. Running a script that resolves the hostname and whitelists them accordingly is my last-resort option, but this is not fool-proof. Does anyone know whether this is possible and if so, how? Thanks!

• Puppet, Nagios, Munin on cPanel based hosts

  I've been managing 20-30~ cPanel based hosts over the past year with Puppet, Nagios and Munin for general monitoring / trending however a lot of the methods I've had to use to deploy / manage things such as configurations a pain. For those of you who aren't familiar with cPanel - it adds a few things to yum exclude such as perl*, ruby* and so forth. This causes issues with me being able to bootstrap monitoring on a new server via Puppet (well via the Package type) due to a bunch of conflicts with installing via Yum. Now I could create a custom RPM for everything and remove certain dependencies from the spec file however I would like to avoid this if possible. Does anyone have any proposed functional ways to manage this sort of environment? Currently I install Puppet, Facter and Munin via RPM's and force install using --nodeps and such (since they're installed, just no the ones Yum wants). Nagios I installed manually from source at this time (likely will create RPM's however I want to tackle this general issue first).

  Hi, I currently use KeePassX to manage my passwords on my Linux (Xubuntu) machine. It's nice to have all the passwords encrypted, but sometimes I'd like to be able to tell a password when I'm on the run. Therefore I'm looking for a solution which I can synchronize with my phone. I have a Nokia N82 which is a Symbian OS v9.2 based phone for the S60 3rd Edition platform with Feature Pack 1. I like an open source solution if it's possible. In case it isn't I wouldn't mind paying for a good solution. If Windows may be added to the synchronization mix it's nice, but it's absolutely not a primary requirement (I don't even have any computer running Windows).

  In my spreadsheet I am collecting time periods when certain values have been changed. The user is restricted to 4 time periods. I would like to show the data based on thos time periods. I've included a mock up' of the data and the type of graph I would like to create.   I have an interent connection with the speed of 4000k bits up and down. I want to do port based traffic shaping on a ubuntu machine, which acts as router. eth0 is the WAN interface. This is how I would like to allocate bandwidth: For ports 80 and 445 the bandwidth usage can go upto 90% For ports above 1024 upto 65535 the bandwidth usage can go upto 10% For remaining ports the bandwidth usage can go upto 40% The easiest way for achieving the above is using a router with tomato firmware. I have used it and it is very efficient. I want to try if it can be done on a Ubuntu or any GNU/Linux machine. I have googled extensively about the topic and I feel there isn't much information.

  We troubleshoot a lot of server and network issues and follow a loose set of steps on what to do in different cases. With more and more people and responsibility, the need for standardization is needed so we don't miss something. I know I could accomplish what I want using flowcharts, but I'd like to do something similar to a "Choose Your Own Adventure" style. I think this is pretty much the same as what support call centers seem to do. Are there any tools to make creating such documentation easier? I'm looking for a web based approach if possible.

• Apache reverse proxy, redirect requests based on IP addresses

  I have a Linux box with 2 NICs. I installed and configured Apache 2 for reverse proxy. Each NIC has its own IP address and I was wondering if there is any way to redirect the requests via Apache based on the IP address that was used to get to the box. For example: eth0 has IP 100.100.100.100, eth1 has 200.200.200.200 If I browse to http://100.100.100.100/AppName/App I want it to redirect to 1.1.1.1 and if I browse to http://200.200.200.200/AppName/App I want it to go to 2.2.2.2 Right now the configuration for Apache is set as follow ProxyPass /AppName/App http://1.1.1.1/AppName/App ProxyPassReverse /AppName/App http://1.1.1.1/AppName/App So anything going to /AppName/App will be redirected to 1.1.1.1 I was reading something about ProxyHTMLURLMap but I don't know whether this is something that might help. Any idea how to do this? Thanks!

• Grant relay to servers based on AD security group membership

  We're moving our relay from an Exchange 2003 server to an Exchange 2010 server. I was hoping the "Grant or deny relay permissions to specific users or groups" option would still be available in some form, but I can't find out how to do it. I've read up on recieve connectors and so far I can't get it to work. I have edited the security on the Recieve Connector to allow the following extended rights to the group and added computer accounts to that group: Accept Routing Headers Bypass Anti-spam Submit to Server Accept any Sender Accept any Recipient Then I suddenly realised while testing... How would the receive connector resolve the permission to a particular AD object, maybe a reverse DNS lookup? What I'd like to know is if what I'm trying to achieve is possible, and how it would be possible. I would rather not revert to an IP-based list as this is not as manageable, and I'm trying to avoid creating static IPs/reservations for a number of workstations that would otherwise not need them.

  hi. not sure if this is the right place, but hopefully someone might have thoughts on a solution/vendor. Starting to spec out a project that will require multiple (50-100) developers to be able to manipulate source files/scripts for a large scale project. The idea is to be able to have each app go through a dev/review/test process, where the users can select (or be assigned) the role they're going to have for the given app. I'm looking for web-based, version control, issue tracking, user roles/access, workflow functionality, etc... Ideally, the process will also allow for the reviewed/valid app to then be exported to a separate system for testing on the test server/environment. This can be hosted on our servers, or we can do the colo process. I've checked out Alassian/Collabnet, but any thoughts you can provide would me appreciated as well. thanks

  I am using KVM on Ubuntu Server 10.04. and Virtual Machines are running on it in LVM. I have to migrate some of them to Vmware server.How can I achieve this? I searched and came across some links but they all talked converting vmdk images to qcow or so.In this case I have OS in LVM. I also looked at man page of qemu-img and as I understand it should do what I am asking in this thread. But how exactly should I proceed in this case.Since it is not a file based image (OS running in an LVM which has filesystem in that LVM). So I am not able to understand what should I be doing to achieve the same. Can I achieve the above with snapshots of LVMs rather than shutting down the VM itself.

  I have an Excel document (2007) with a chart (Clustered Column) that gets its Data Series from cells containing calculated values The calculated values never change directly, but only as a result of other cells in the sheet changing When I change other cells in the sheet, the Data Series cells are recalculated, and show new values - but the Chart based on this Data Series refuses to update automatically I can get the Chart to update by saving/closing, or toggling one of the settings (such as reversing x/y axis and then putting it back), or by re-selecting the Data Series Every solution I have found online doesn't work - I have Calculation set to automatic - Ctrl+Alt+F9 updates everything fine, EXCEPT the chart - I have recreated the chart several times, and on different computers - I have tried VBA scripts like: Application.Calculate Application.CalculateFull Application.CalculateFullRebuild ActiveWorkbook.RefreshAll DoEvents None of these update or refresh the chart I do notice that if I type over my Data Series, actual numbers instead of calculations, it will update the chart - it's as if Excel doesn't want to recognize changes in the calculations Has anyone experienced this before or know what I might do to fix the problem?   I've got the following data and pivot table: The Total column in the pivot table is the sum of the following calculated field: =start-TIME(7, 30, 0) I know that this calculation is wrong for what I want to achieve. I need to know how much delay I have had on each day to start the work. e.g. on 1-Oct-12, assuming I should have started my work at 7:30, 8:00 - 7:30 which yields 30 minutes delay, 1 hour delay for 2-Oct-12 and 50 minutes for 3-Oct-12. So my question is, how can I have a calculated field based on only the first row of each group in a pivot table?

  I am seeking for a way to number each equation based on the chapter numbers. The number should be placed at the right side of the equation and the equation should be center-aligned. Something like this: (The bounding box around 2.3 is not necessary). I found this article that do this in a tricky way. Sadly it has some problems when I use multilevel numbering for Headings.   Many of us have embraced the podcasting revolution enabled by rss feeds and podcatchers. Alot of sites now broadcast live streams of what is eventually edited into a podcast. In most cases listening to the live stream gets you the info several days sooner then the podcast. So I was wondering if anybody knows of a notification protocol / app that allows me to auto tune into certain streams when they go live, or based on a schedule. I imagine twitter could be used for the notification but It'd be better not to be tied to a proprietary service.   I have configured postfix to relay mails based on the recipient address. In transport I put something like this: recipientdomain.com relay:[my.relay.com] This works fine, when I send an e-mail to [email protected], it does get relayed through my.relay.com. I want to be able to use this relay only when the message comes from a specific address, say [email protected]. Two quick examples: Mail 1: from [email protected] to [email protected] - does not get relayed Mail 2: from [email protected] to [email protected] - gets relayed How can I configure Postfix to achieve this?

• Windows Java-based apps not working

  After updating the Java JRE to 7u25, many Java-based applications not works as usual, the I upgrade Java to 7u45, and still the apps not working. Minecraft start screen not showing, have to press TAB key to select the Run button and press ENTER to run the game. Netbeans IDE it's running, but none it's showing on the screen. Eclipse and JDownloader are working fine. I cannot run the Java Control Panel, it's only shows the Java icon at the taskbar. My System OS: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64Bits Java: java version "1.7.0_45" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_45-b18) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 24.45-b08, mixed mode, sharing)
