  • MVC 4 Authentication

    - by Aligned
First: After searching for awhile to figure out what’s new/different with MVC 4 and forms authentication, this is the best article I've found on the subject: http://weblogs.asp.net/jgalloway/archive/2012/08/29/simplemembership-membership-providers-universal-providers-and-the-new-asp-net-4-5-web-forms-and-asp-net-mvc-4-templates.aspx Some quotes from the article: “The ASP.NET Web Pages team designed SimpleMembership to (wait for it) simplify the task of dealing with membership” "WSAT is built to work with ASP.NET Membership, and is not compatible with Simple Membership. There are two main options there: Use the WebSecurity and OAuthWebSecurity API to manage the users and roles Create a web admin using the above APIs Since SimpleMembership runs on top of your database, you can update your users as you would any other data - via EF or even in direct database edits (in development, of course)" “If you want to use an existing ASP.NET Membership Provider in ASP.NET MVC 4, you can't use the new AccountController. You can do a few things:” “Universal Providers do not work with Simple Membership.” ~ this post (look for Bob.at.SBS’s answer) says Universal Providers is not needed for MVC 4 to work in Azure)   I've been trying to figure out the Forms Authentication in MVC4. It's different than the past approach (aspnet_regsql). If you do file new project -> MVC 4 -> internet application, you get a really nice template with the controller and model setup for you. However, the tables are different than using aspnet_regsql and the ASP.Net Configuration tool (WSAT) wasn’t connecting to the data I had (it was creating an App_Data/aspnet.mdf file, which I didn’t see right away). Points of Note The database tables are created in the SimpleMembershipInitializer class, when you first run your app using Entity Framework 5 migration functionality. The tables created are webpages_Membership, webpages_OAuthMembership, webpages_Roles, webpages_UsersInRoles, UserProfile. Web.config settings don’t seem to be needed.   Scott Hanselman on Universal Providers was also useful if not somewhat out dated. Universal Providers and SimpleMembership are not compatible. http://www.asp.net/web-pages/tutorials/security/16-adding-security-and-membership – walk-through

  • How to print a variable in reversed byte order in Perl?

    - by jth
Hi, I'am trying to convert the variable $num into its reverse byte order and print it out. This is what I have done so far: my $num=0x5514ddb7; my $s=pack('I!',$num); print "$s\n"; He prints it out as some non-printable characters and in a hex editor it looks right, but how can I get it readable on the console? Already tried print sprintf("%#x\n",$s); but he complains about an non-numeric argument, so I think pack returns a string. Any ideas how can I print out `0xb7dd1455 on the console, based on $num?

  • Adding Values to a Byte Array

    - by rross
I'm starting with the two values below: finalString = "38,05,e1,5f,aa,5f,aa,d0"; string[] holder = finalString.Split(','); I'm looping thru holder like so: foreach (string item in holder) { //concatenate 0x and add the value to a byte array } On each iteration I would like to concatenate a 0x to make it a hex value and add it to a byte array. This is what I want the byte array to be like when I finish the loop: byte[] c = new byte[]{0x38,0x05,0xe1,0x5f,0xaa,0x5f,0xaa,0xd0}; So far all my attempts have not been successful. Can someone point me in the right direction?

  • read successive frames OpenCV using cvQueryframe

    - by AtharvaI
Hi all I have a basic question in regards to cvQueryFrame() in OpenCV. I have the following code: IplImage *frame1,*frame2; frame1 = cvQueryFrame(capture); frame2 = cvQueryFrame(capture); Now my question is: if frame1 is a pointer to the first frame, is frame2 a pointer to the 2nd frame? So will the two cvQueryFrame() calls read successive frames? I thought I'd check myself first but the pointers frame1,frame2 seem to have the same hex value. :s I just need to capture two frames at a time and then need to process them. Thanks in advance

  • Get binary data from audio impulses

    - by Timo
I have IR sensor which have TRS plug and I can record my remotes signals into audio. Now I want to control my computer with TV remote, but I don't have any clue how to compare audio input with pre-recorded audio. But after I realized that these audio waves contains only some kind data (binary) I can turn these into binary or hex, so it is much easier to compare. Waves look just like this: http://i.imgur.com/lCIyl.png And this: ttp://i.imgur.com/goJ6d.png These are records of "OK" button, sometimes there are some impulses on right channel too and I don't know why, it seems like connections in sensor are damaged maybe. Ok thats not matter, anyway I need help with python program which read these impulses and turn these into binary, in realtime from audio input(mic). I know it's sounds like "Do it for me, while I enjoy my life", but I don't have experiences with sound transforming/reading... I've looking for python examples for recording and reading audio, but unsuccessfully.

  • File won't save output to file, and prints out a string oddly C++ Linux

    - by Predictability
I'm trying to make a password code, the user enters a password, then it will save the password to a file in /tmp/ and then it will output the password (For me so I can find bugs). I have included the "string" library, and I set the password type to string, but when I output it, it outputs like this: 0x7fffb55baac0password // <-- thats the password I entered It will output hex (I think), then the password I entered, and it won't save it to the file in /tmp/ I want it to (Or any file in /tmp/). Here's the source code: http://codepad.org/3aamAv7R Thank you for all the help you guys have given me so far.

  • How to use git to download a particular tag?

    - by Jack BeNimble
I'm trying to figure out how do download a particular tag of a git repository - it's one version behind the current version. I saw there was a tag for the previous version on the git web page, with object name of something long hex number. But the version name is "Tagged release 1.1.5" according the site. I tried a command like this (with names changed): git clone http://git.abc.net/git/abc.git my_abc And I did get something - a directory, a bunch of subdirectories, etc. If it's the whole repository, how do I get at the version I'm seeking? If not, how do I download that particular version?

  • Best way to have unique key over 500M varchar(255) records in mysql/innodb?

    - by taw
I have url column with unique key over it - but its performance on updates is absolutely atrocious. I suspect that's because the index doesn't all fit in memory. So I was thinking, how about adding a column of md5(url) with 16 bytes of binary data and unique-keying that instead. What would be the best datatype for that? I'd love to be able to just see 32-character hex hash, while mysql would convert it to/from 16 binary bytes and index that, as programs using the database might have some troubles with arbitrary binary data that I'd rather avoid if possible (also I'm a bit afraid that mysql might get some strange ideas about character sets and for example overalocating storage for that by 3:1 because it thinks it might need utf8, how do I avoid that for cure?).

  • How to specify comma , space unicode value in app.config(C#3.0)

    - by Newbie
In the app.config file if I use <add key = "FileDelimeter" value ="&#2c;"/> as unicode for COMMA, it is throwing error Invalid character in a decimal number 'c' For SPACE, <add key = "FileDelimeter" value ="&#20;"/> the error is Character'', hex value 0*14 is illegal in xml while <add key = "FileDelimeter" value ="&#09;"/> for "\t" worked. Where is the mistake? Kindly give a generic solution. Thanks

  • define macro in C wont work

    - by Spidfire
    Im trying to make a macro in C that can tell if a char is a hex number ( 0-9 a-z A-Z) #define _hex(x) (((x) >= "0" && (x) <= "9" )||( (x) >= "a" && (x) <= "z") || ((x) >= "A" && (x) <= "Z") ? "true" : "false") this what ive come up with but it wont work with a loop like this char a; for(a = "a" ; a < "z";a++){ printf("%s => %s",a, _hex(a)); } but it gives a error test.c:8: warning: assignment makes integer from pointer without a cast test.c:8: warning: comparison between pointer and integer test.c:9: warning: comparison between pointer and integer test.c:9: warning: comparison between pointer and integer test.c:9: warning: comparison between pointer and integer test.c:9: warning: comparison between pointer and integer test.c:9: warning: comparison between pointer and integer test.c:9: warning: comparison between pointer and integer

  • How does the stream manipulators work?

    - by Narek
It is well known that the user can define stream manipulators like this: ostream& tab(ostream & output) { return output<< '\t'; } And this can be used in main() like this: cout<<'a'<<tab<<'b'<<'c'<<endl; Please explain me how does this all work? If operator<< assumes as a second parameter a pointer to the function that takes and returns ostream &, then please explain my why it is necessary? What would be wrong if the function does not take and return ostream & but it was void instead of ostream &? Also it is interesting why “dec”, “hex” manipulators take effect until I don’t change between them, but user defined manipulators should be always used in order to take effect for each streaming?

  • Conversion of Single to two UInt16 values in .net

    - by Gio
In the good old days of C. I could cast a float to an int (assuming 32 bit system), do some bit manipluation ( bitwise and, right shift, ect ), and get the upper and lower 16 bit hex representations of the floating point number, which I could then store in two short values. I'm not seeing an easy way of doing this in C#. System.Convert.ToUInt16 just does a float to int convert (even after I shift right), which leaves a vlaue of 0 if the float is less than 0, which is not the desired effect. //useless leaves me witg a value 0f 0 UIN16 s1 = (UInt16)((System.Convert.ToUInt32(d2) & 0xffff0000) >> 16); //capture the high word UInt16 s2 = (UInt16)(System.Convert.ToUInt32(d2) & 0xffff); //capture the low word A basic cast (UInt32) doesn't work either.

  • Why is the GUID structure declared the way it is?

    - by alabamasucks
In rpc.h, the GUID structure is declared as follows: typedef struct _GUID { DWORD Data1; WORD Data2; WORD Data3; BYTE Data[8]; } GUID; I understand Data1, Data2, and Data3. They define the first, second, and third sets of hex digits when writing out a GUID (XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXX). What I never understood was why the last 2 groups were declared together in the same byte array. Wouldn't this have made more sense (and been easier to code against)? typedef struct _GUID { DWORD Data1; WORD Data2; WORD Data3; WORD Data4; BYTE Data5[6]; } GUID; Anyone know why it is declared this way?

  • mod_rewrite replace all instances of ampersand with %26 for later

    - by Supernovah
Hey there! I want to simply not use ampersand in my URL so I can pass ampersands further down into my system when a file is requested. The problem is Apache deals with it differently. I don't know how I already rewrite the requested file to index.php?url=$1 so I can see what it was, but if it has an ampersand in there, it can't continue past it! how can I escape the ampersand or turn it into it's hex equal (%26)? <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?url=$1 [QSA,L] </IfModule>`

  • SSH connection times out

    - by mark
Given: vm - a WinXPsp3 virtual machine hosted by a Win7sp1 physical machine alice is the user on vm srv - a Win2008R2sp1 server bob is the user on srv quake - a linux server mark is the user on quake Both vm and srv have the same new installation of cygwin (1.7.9) and openssh. Firewall service is disabled on vm (and its host) and on srv All the machines can be pinged from all the machines. ssh mark@quake works OK from both vm and srv. ssh bob@srv works OK from both quake and vm. ssh alice@vm works on the vm itself only, but it fails on the other two machines: alice@vm ~ $ ssh alice@vm alice@vm's password: Last login: Tue Oct 25 23:42:09 2011 from vm.shunra.net [mark@Quake ~]$ ssh -vvv alice@vm OpenSSH_4.3p2, OpenSSL 0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 01 Jul 2008 debug1: Reading configuration data /etc/ssh/ssh_config debug1: Applying options for * debug2: ssh_connect: needpriv 0 debug1: Connecting to vm [172.30.2.60] port 22. debug1: connect to address 172.30.2.60 port 22: Connection timed out ssh: connect to host vm port 22: Connection timed out bob@Srv ~ $ ssh -vvv alice@vm OpenSSH_5.9p1, OpenSSL 0.9.8r 8 Feb 2011 debug1: Reading configuration data /etc/ssh_config debug2: ssh_connect: needpriv 0 debug1: Connecting to vm [172.30.2.60] port 22. debug1: connect to address 172.30.2.60 port 22: Connection timed out ssh: connect to host vm port 22: Connection timed out I used ssh-host-config both on vm and srv to configure the ssh to run as a windows service. Besides that I did nothing else. Can anyone help me troubleshoot this issue? Thank you very much. EDIT The virtual machine software is VMWare Workstation 7.1.4. I think the problem is in its settings, but I have no idea where exactly. The Network Adapter is set to Bridged. EDIT2 All the machines are located in the company lab, I think all of them are on the same segment, but I may be wrong. Below is the ipconfig /all output for each machine (skipping the linux server). I have deleted the Tunnel adapters to keep the output minimal. If anyone thinks they matter, do tell so and I will post them as well. In addition ping output is given to show that DNS is correct. Something else, may be relevant, may be not. Doing psexec to srv works OK, whereas to vm failes with Access Denied. srv: C:\Windows\system32>ipconfig /all Windows IP Configuration Host Name . . . . . . . . . . . . : srv Primary Dns Suffix . . . • USB packets - receive wrong data

    i have a little python script which shows me the packets of an enocean device and does some events depending on the packet type. unfortunately it doesn't work because i'm getting wrong packets. Parts of the python script (used pySerial): Blockquote ser = serial.Serial('/dev/ttyUSB1',57600,bytesize = serial.EIGHTBITS,timeout = 1, parity = serial.PARITY_NONE , rtscts = 0) print 'clearing buffer' s = ser.read(10000) print 'start read' while 1: s = ser.read(1) for character in s: sys.stdout.write(" %s" % character.encode('hex')) print 'end' ser.close() output baudrate 57600: e0 e0 00 e0 00 e0 e0 e0 e0 e0 00 e0 e0 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 e0 e0 e0 00 00 00 00 e0 e0 e0 00 00 e0 e0 e0 e0 e0 00 e0 00 e0 e0 e0 e0 e0 00 e0 e0 00 00 00 00 00 00 e0 e0 e0 00 00 00 00 e0 e0 e0 00 00 e0 e0 e0 output baudrate 9600: a5 5a 0b 05 10 00 00 00 00 15 c4 56 20 6f a5 5a 0b 05 00 00 00 00 00 15 c4 56 20 5f linux terminal baudrate 57600: $stty -F /dev/ttyUSB1 57600 $stty < /dev/ttyUSB1 speed 57600 baud; line = 0; eof = ^A; min = 0; time = 0; -brkint -icrnl -imaxbel -opost -onlcr -isig -icanon -iexten -echo -echoe -echok -echoctl -echoke $while (true) do cat -A /dev/ttyUSB1 ; done myfile $hexdump -C myfile 00000000 4d 2d 60 4d 2d 60 5e 40 4d 2d 60 5e 40 4d 2d 60 |M-M-^@M-^@M-| 00000010 4d 2d 60 4d 2d 60 4d 2d 60 4d 2d 60 5e 40 4d 2d |M-M-M-M-^@M-| 00000020 60 4d 2d 60 5e 40 5e 40 5e 40 5e 40 5e 40 5e 40 |M-^@^@^@^@^@^@| 00000030 5e 40 4d 2d 60 4d 2d 60 4d 2d 60 5e 40 5e 40 5e |^@M-M-M-`^@^@^| 00000040 40 5e 40 4d 2d 60 4d 2d 60 4d 2d 60 |@^@M-M-M-`| 0000004c linux terminal baudrate 9600: $hexdump -C myfile2 00000000 5e 40 5e 55 4d 2d 44 56 30 4d 2d 3f 5e 40 5e 40 |^@^UM-DV0M-?^@^@| 00000010 5e 55 4d 2d 44 56 20 5f |^UM-DV _| 00000018 the specification says: 0x55 sync byte 1st 0xNNNN data length bytes (2 bytes) 0x07 opt length byte 0x01 type byte CRC, data, opt data und nochmal CRC but I'm not getting this packet structure.   • Create Your CRM Style

    - by Ruth
Company branding can create a sense of spirit, belonging, familiarity, and fun. CRM On Demand has long offered company branding options, but now, with Release 17, those options have become quicker, easier, and more flexible. Themes (also known as Skins) allow you to customize the appearance of the CRM On Demand application for your entire company, or for individual roles. Users may also select the theme that works best for them. You can create a new theme in 5 minutes or less, but if you're anything like me, you may enjoy tinkering with it for a while longer. Before you begin tinkering, I recommend spending a few moments coming up with a design plan. If you have specific colors or logos you want for your theme, gather those first...that will move the process along much faster. If you want to match the color of an existing Web site or application, you can use tools, like Pixie, to match the HEX/HTML color values. Logos must be in a JPEG, JPG, PNG, or GIF file format. Header logos must be approximately 70 pixels high by 1680 pixels wide. Footer logos must be no more than 200 pixels wide. And, of course, you must have permission to use the images that you upload for your theme. Creating the theme itself is the simple part. Here are a few simple steps. Note: You must have the Manage Themes privilege to create custom themes. Click the Admin global link. Navigate to Application Customization Themes. Click New. Note: You may also choose to copy and edit and existing theme. Enter information for the following fields: Theme Name - Enter a name for your new theme. Show Default Help Link - Online help holds valuable information for all users, so I recommend selecting this check box. Show Default Training and Support Link - The Training and Support Center holds valuable information for all users, so I recommend selecting this check box. Description - Enter a description for your new theme. Click Save. Once you click Save, the Theme Detail page opens. From there, you can design your theme. The preview shows the Home, Detail, and List pages, with the new theme applied. For more detailed information about themes, click the Help link from any page in CRM On Demand Release 17, then search or browse to find the Creating New Themes page (Administering CRM On Demand Application Customization Creating New Themes). Click the Show Me link on that Help page to access the Creating Custom Themes quick guide. This quick guide shows how each of the page elements are defined.

  • Binary on the Coat of Arms of the Governor General of Canada

    - by user132636
Can you help me further this investigation? Here is about 10% of the work I have done on it. I present it only to see if there are any truly curious people among you. I made a video a few weeks ago showing some strange things about the Governor General's Coat of Arms and the binary on it. Today, I noticed something kinda cool and thought I would share. Here is the binary as it appears on the COA: 110010111001001010100100111010011 As DEC: 6830770643 (this is easily found on the web) Take a close look at that number. What do you notice about it? It has a few interesting features, but here is the one no one has pointed out... Split it down the middle and you have 68307 70643. The first digit is double the value of the last digit. The second digit is double the second last digit. The third digit is half of the third to last digit. And the middle ones are even or neutral. At first, I thought of it as energy. ++-nnnn+-- But actually you can create something else with it using the values. 221000211. See how that works. You may be asking why that is significant. Bare with me. I know 99% are rolling their eyes. 221000211 as base3 gives you this as binary: 100011101000111 100011101000111 as HEX is 4747, which converts to "GG". Initials of Governor General. GG.ca is his website. When you convert to base 33 (there are 33 digits in the original code) you get "GOV" Interesting? :D There is a lot more to it. I'll continue to show some strange coincidences if anyone is interested. Sorry if I am not explaining this correctly. By now you have probably figured out that I have no background in this. Which is why I am here. Thank you.

  • Help with Strategy-game AI

    - by f20k
Hi, I am developing a strategy-game AI (think: Final Fantasy Tactics), and I am having trouble coming up for the design of the AI. My main problem is determining which is the optimal thing for it to do. First let me describe the priority of what action I would like the AI to take: Kill nearest player unit Fulfill primary directive (kill all player units, kill target unit, survive for x turns) Heal ally unit / cast buffer Now the AI can do the following in its turn: Move - {Attack / Ability / Item} (either attack or ability or item) {Attack / Ability / Item} - Move Move closer (if targets not in range) {Attack / Ability / Item} (if move not available) Notes Abilities have various ranges / effects / costs / effects. Each ai unit has maybe 5-10 abilities to choose from. The AI will prioritize killing over safety unless its directive is to survive for x turns. It also doesn't care about ability cost much. While a player may want to save a big spell for later, the AI will most likely use it asap. Movement is on a (hex) grid num of player units: 3-6 num of ai units: 3-7 or more. Probably max 10. AI and player take turns controlling ONE unit, instead of all at the same time. Platform is Android (if program doesnt respond after some time, there will be a popup saying to Force Quit or Wait - which looks really bad!). Now comes the questions: The best ability to use would obviously be the one that hits the most targets for the most damage. But since each ability has different ranges, I won't know if they are in range without exploring each possible place I can move to. One solution would be to go through each possible places to move to, determine the optimal attack at that location - which gives me a list of optimal moves for each location. Then choose the optimal out of the list and execute it. But this will take a lot of CPU time. Is there a better solution? My current idea is to move as close as possible towards the closest, largest group of people, and determine the optimal attack/ability from there. I think this would be a lot less work for the CPU and still allow for wide-range attacks. Its sub-optimal but the AI will still seem 'smart'. Other notes/questions: Am I over-thinking/over-complicating it? Better solution? I am open to all sorts of suggestions I have taken a look at the spell-casting question, but it doesn't take into account the movement - so perhaps use that algo for each possible move location? The top answer mentioned it wasn't great for area-of-effect and group fights - so maybe requires more tweaking? Please, if you mention a graph/tree, let me know basically how to use it. E.g. Node means ability, level corresponds to damage, then search for the deepest node.

  • Windows CE 6.0 time setting in registry being overrided

    - by JaminSince83
I have asked this question on stack overflow but its probably better suited here. So I have a Motorola MC3190 Mobile Barcode scanning device with Windows CE 6.0. Now I want to get the device to sync its date/time on boot up with our domain controller using a registry file that I have created. I have used this registry file below to get close to what I require. REG 1 REGEDIT4 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\TIMESVC] "UserProcGroup"=dword:00000002 "Flags"=dword:00000010 "multicastperiod"=dword:36EE80 "threshold"=dword:5265C00 "recoveryrefresh"=dword:36EE80 "refresh"=dword:5265C00 "Context"=dword:0 "Autoupdate" = dword:1 "server" = "NAMEOFMYSERVER" "ServerRole" = dword:0 "Trustlocalclock" = dword:0 "Dll"="timesvc.dll" "Keep"=dword:1 "Prefix"="NTP" "Index"=dword:0 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\nls] "DefaultLCID" = dword:00000809 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\nls\overrides] "LCID" = dword:00000809 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Time] @ = "UTC" "TimeZoneInformation"=hex:\ 00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,\ 00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Time Zones] @ = "UTC" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Clock] "AutoDST" = dword:00000000 Now it gets the correct date and shows the time zone correctly however the time is always 5 hours behind on Eastern Standard Time, which is really annoying. I have researched heavily into this and this question has been asked before here As you will see I have copied what it suggests but it doesnt work. Something is overiding the time which I dont understand enough about to resolve. I cannot find any other setting to get it to set the time correctly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
