i followed this article:
http://www.enavigo.com/2012/01/04/enabling-oracle-oci8-php-extension-on-os-x-snow-leopard/
and im getting this error: Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): The server closed the connection without sending any data.
Anytime i try to connect to an oracle database using OCI8.
I'm not sure that oci8 is install properly.
Can someone provide steps for installation of OCI8 using Mamp Pro?
I'm trying to configure the Snow Leopard's VPN on demand service without success
I've tried the following domain+configuration pairs but none of them have worked:
domain.net default
*.domain.net default
My goal is that each time I go to www.domain.net with Safari, ssh server1.domain.net or everything else on this domain.net the connection will be established trough the VPN !
I've tried plenty of different configs but it has never worked so far...
Edit : R

Greetings,
I am running PSPad (a Windows programming editor) on Mac OS X (Snow Leopard) using Wine 1.1.35
I want to associate various file extensions (.php, .js, .html) with PSPad.exe
Finder does not allow this association -- I can only associate file types with $.app items in Applications.
How do I get OS X to pass a file to Wine/PSPad when I double click it in Finder?
One of the "features" of VMWare Fusion is that it associates files on the Mac host with programs in the VM. Unfortunately I uninstalled VMWare Fusion, and my Mac still has applications in VMWare Fusion associated with it. How can I remove the associations? I went to the Genius Bar, but they didn't know how to fix it (they cleared my cache, but that didn't do it.)
I am running OSX Snow Leopard
Copying a file using AFP took 40 minutes but using scp it only took 7 mins. Why is AFP so slow?
My setup:
D-Link DIR-300 wifi router
iMac with Snow-Leopard serves AFP
Macbook with Leopard is the client
I have an airport extreme with a drive connected, and use it for backing up snow leopard macs. I have an occasional problem with one of them that says "the backup disk image ... is already in use" and it fails to backup.
Any ideas?
Hey.
I'm trying to get MouseTerm to work with Terminal.app. I'm on Snow Leopard and followed the install instructions promptly (which are, simply, download the .dmg and run the 'Install' file).
When I start Terminal.app, I still can't use the mouse (specifically in Vim, using set mouse=a).
Anyone got it working?
Time Warner Cable/ Road Runner router shows up some times on the network list on Mac OS X 10.6.3 Snow Leopard. It makes a spotty appearence on the list.
The router is a SMC Networks Model # SMC8014WG-SI. The default gateway numbers all do not work.
192.168.0.1
192.168.1.1
192.168.2.1
10.10.10.1
What IP adress am I looking for here to log in to the router to fix the issue?
Since a few days ago the sleep modus on my Macbook isn't working anymore, and I don't know why. After 10 minutes the Macbook isn't falling to sleep as expected. Does anyone have the same problem or have an idea how to solve this problem?
The OS on the Macbook is Snow Leopard 10.6.2.
I'm trying to setup a VPN server on a linux server (Gentoo). I've tired to setup OpenVPN using a PSK but I didn't found any way to configure it on Snow Leopard.
Is OpenVPN a good solution ? If so, how to configure it to make it work with Mac OS x native VPN client ?
Hi all,
Sometimes, and it seems to be very random, the trackpad on my mac book pro (snow leopard) doesnt single click, it does double, triple and 4 fingers swipe ok, but not single click!
A restart fixes it, but its very frustrating, has anyone else ever seen this?
Hi,
I'm trying to access my OSX (snow leopard) machine from my Windows 7 machine. Both machines are within my local network I don't need outside access. I'm using Vine Server (OSXvnc) for OSX and TightVNC Viewer for Windows, but TightVNC keeps telling me that the host is unreachable.
Any idea what could be wrong? how could I troubleshoot this kind of issue?
Appreciate your help.
Now that I've upgraded my Mac OS X to Snow Leopard, Cyberduck does not work.
What are some good replacements?
I would like to have both ftp and sftp compatibilities.
Bonjour is a lovely technology. I would like all my custom vhosts on my mac (Snow Leopard) to broadcast via bonjour. What is the best way to do this, without having to enable for every vhost separately?
Hi Guys,
I have tried to install memcached in MAMP - Snow Leopard 10.6.2 using this tutorial:
Setup a Memcached-Enabled MAMP Sandbox Environment
I finished with no errors the first to the last step: Bonus Section: Start and Stop Memcache with MAMP
After that I restarted my MAMP widget in the dashboard and checked by phpinfo but the memcached extension is not there.
Do you guys successfully installed memcached in your MAMP or do you know any other way on how to make it work?
Thanks in advance :)
I'm traveling for a week and will be borrowing my roommate's laptop. We both have Macs running Snow Leopard. How can I copy my entire user account (files, settings, etc.) over to his computer?
Is it as simple as creating a new user account and copying over my home folder? Do I have to do more?
I am working through the security guide from apple (which they did not update since Snow Leopard). In the firewall section it states that ipfw has a default allow rule:
65535 allow ip from any to any
And if you enable the firewalls 'stealth mode' via the settings the following rule should be added:
33300 deny icmp from any to me in icmptypes 8
The funny thing is: I have stealth enabled and I do not see this rule when doing
sudo ipfw print
Any idea where stealth mode is enforced if not in the ipfw ruleset?
Hi,
I can access the Windows 2003 server from my Mac, but can't see all the files. I am using Snow Leopard and have followed fixes online. All get me connected and I can see all folders, but not all files within these folders appear.
Someone else using a Mac can see all files which is very odd.
Any help much appreciated.

Hi,
I am using Apple Mail on Snow Leopard. It seems to use excessive data, around 1.5 GB a day. I don't receive mails remotely close to that size obviously.
Does anybody have any idea what's happening. Its very consistent. Turn Mail off, and the download goes away.
Much appreciated.
I'm trying to migrate one Mac mini to another. Both have Snow Leopard, and I'm migrating via ethernet. The process seems nearly complete, but it's been on a screen saying "Transferring your time zone setting... less than a minute remaining" for 20 mins now
Any ideas?
Hello,
I am using Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. What I need is to map my FTP server as a local drive - or anything I have write access to - in Finder.
Thanks - A LOT!!! - in advance.
I'm running Ubuntu in Snow Leopard with VMware fusion 3, and I want to be able to access the wireless network on eth1 within Ubuntu so I can run tools like aircrack-ng. However, the bridged network that VMware sets up connects my Airport interface in Mac to the wired interface eth0 in Ubuntu. How do I set it up so that the Airport interface is connected to the wireless interface eth1 in Ubuntu?
