This subdomains should display the same page what domain (localhost).   I am installing Redmine as per this step-by-step instruction: http://justnotes.co.cc/2010/02/11/how-to-install-redmine-on-ubuntu/ I am using Ubuntu 10.04.1, Apache 2.2.14, Mongrel 1.1.5. On the VirtualHost configuration stage, I am using this: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName myserver.lv ProxyPass /redmine/ http://localhost:8000/ ProxyPassReverse /redmine/ http://localhost:8000 ProxyPreserveHost on <Proxy *> Order allow,deny Allow from all </Proxy> </VirtualHost> But, when I direct my browser to http://<my-server's-ip>/redmine/ what I see is not the redmine web application but "Index of /redmine" with, well, index of the files from the root directory of Redmine. Any idea how to fix that? P.S. Tried removing the VirtualHost stuff alltogether and instead adding the following simple clauses to apache2.conf: <Proxy *> Order allow,deny Allow from all </Proxy> ProxyPass /redmine/ http://localhost:8000/ ProxyPassReverse /redmine/ http://localhost:8000/ ProxyPreserveHost on As a result, the behavior changes! Now http://<my-server's-ip>/redmine/ produces the source code of the Redmine's start page, so it is served, but apparently not rendered. At the same time, still, http://<my-server's-ip>:8000/ works perfectly fine, so Mongrel is serving the Redmine application as it should, it's just that something is wrong with my VirtualHost/proxying clauses in the .conf file.

But when I attempted to install the network drivers post-install using the packages from the HP website, I wasn't successful. Though I selected the correct package, the installer reported I did not have the necessary hardware configuration. Has anyone had a similar experience? Thanks

• Problem restarting my Ubuntu system

  Whenever I try to restart my Ubuntu either from the command line by typing reboot or in GNOME the computer goes from X to console, starts the shutdown process and then a message saying "[ some number ] Starting new kernel" appears on the screen and the computer goes back to X login screen. I suspect this must have something to do with nvidia drivers, because it seemed to have appeared around the time I bought a new graphic card. Also, when I reboot the second time I see weird graphical artifacts on the screen. When I boot from ubuntu live cd I can reboot just fine. I used jaunty, recently I switched to karmic with no change. This bug is very annoying, because I have to hard reset my computer in order to reboot. Also not good for the filesystems, I suspect. Can you suggest a way to debug the cause or if not at least the easiest way to go about reinstalling ubuntu without losing customizations/settings/data?

  Howdy, I just recently installed hyper-v server 2008 r2 on a dedicated server i have, but i'm having trouble enabling remote management. Running the HVRemote - http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/HVRemote - tool seems to have yielded some positive results, and all tests on the server pass (firewall, permissions, etc), but client-side things are not working. I'm stuck at this step : 5: - Simple query to root\cimv2 WMI namespace FAIL - Simple query failed Cannot perform simple query against root\cimv2 Anyone could help me figure this out? • Vista home basic, "this folder is empty" problem

  When I access my itunes folder in "my music" I see most but not all artist folders, when I access any of them I get "this folder is empty", When in Itunes all music plays and if I right click on a song and click show in folder I can see my full Itunes folder, so far I have done two system restores, scan disk, windows memory scan, defrag and tried ifixit. nothing has worked, I dont understand how I can see two different folders at the same address. Also have checked hidden files settings.

  I have server controlled by Debian 6.0. I installed and configured redmine some time ago, and now configured svn server. Now i'm trying to configure redmine to be able to view svn repository. URL is: https://192.168.11.78/svn/bee Connection is not working, log show this error: Error parsing svn output: #<REXML::ParseException: No close tag for /lists/list> Google says that its common error, and its possible to fix it by permamently accept of server certificate so i did it and nothing. Still dont work. Later, i added [global] store-plaintext-passwords = no in file .subversion/servers I did this (and cert accept) for both root and www-data users. Nothing helped, still got error in redmine The entry or revision was not found in the repository. What else i can do with it?

  Edit3: Thanks for the help everyone. Sorry for wasting anybody's time, but it seems like a simple reboot solved it. I should've known better, but I just had the assumption that the "restart" solution is mostly valid just for MS Windows (no offense). I'll keep this in mind before I ask a question here again. I installed the mysql-client-5.0 and mysql-server-5.0 packages on Ubuntu 8.04, using sudo apt-get install. When I try to run the "mysql" command, I get the following error: ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2) To verify that mysql server is running, I tried this, and it does seem to be running, with the correct socket too: $ ps aux | grep mysql root 13388 0.0 0.0 1772 528 ? • Cable Internet connectivity Problem?

  I just got Internet cable from Time Warner/ EarthLink. For some reason I tried everything that Time Warner and Earthlink techs told me to do but nothing seems to work. I still can't connect to the Internet. For some reason they think it's the IPv4 address since it begins with 169. I did everything the told me to 8 times, but they both give me the run around tell me it's the other's fault. How can I fix this once and for all? I have no router. I use cable to connect to the Internet. Windows Vista Cable broadband.

Wizard"), I get to a point where it the window reads: MySQL Server Instance Configuration (bold header) Choose the configuration for the server instance. Ready to execute... o Prepare configuration o Write configuration file o Start service o Apply security settings (this line is greyed out) Please press [Execute] to start the configuration. [ Back ] [ Execute ] [ Cancel ] So I press execute, and then a red X appears in the second step: Write configuration file and at the bottom, where it originally said: Please press [Execute] to start the configuration. It now says: The template configuration file cannot be found at C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.0\bin\my-template.cnf I'm unsure what it means, but I canceled the config wizard and looked in the directory that had been created (C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.0).   I am using kvm and libvirt on my Dell server. Now i am trying to migrate one virtual machine from a physical server to another. However, I failed everytime.   To Clarify: my question is why isn't my password policy applying to people in the domain. Hey guys, having trouble with our password policy in Active Directory. Sometimes it just helps me to type out what I’m seeing It appears to not be applying properly across the board. I am new to this environment and AD in general but I think I have a general grasp of what should be going on. It’s a pretty simple AD setup without too many Group Policies being applied. It looks something like this DOMAIN Default Domain Policy (link enabled) Password Policy (link enabled and enforce) Personal OU Force Password Change (completely empty nothing in this GPO) IT OU Lockout Policy (link enabled and enforced) CS OU Lockout Policy Accouting OU Lockout Policy The password policy and default domain policy both define the same things under Computer ConfigWindows seetings sec settings Account Policies / Password Policy Enforce password History : 24 passwords remembered Maximum Password age : 180 days Min password age: 14 days Minimum Password Length: 6 characters Password must meet complexity requirements: Enabled Store Passwords using reversible encryption: Disabled Account Policies / Account Lockout Policy Account Lockout Duration 10080 Minutes Account Lockout Threshold: 5 invalid login attempts Reset Account Lockout Counter after : 30 minutes IT lockout This just sets the screen saver settings to lock computers when the user is Idle.   Hi guys, I am an ASP.NET developer, who has minimal knowledge in Server administration. I have a database hosted at Windows Server 2008. Today morning onwards it periodically stops working. The message given is something to the effect "The program is being shut down to prevent Data Execution Prevention error" Some other programs are also showing the behavior. I would like to know, what causes this all of a sudden? The server is UN-protected(IE: no anti-virus installed at all), could this be a possible anti-virus/ malware attack? Today however, my mac will not recognize it's built in monitor while the second monitor is plugged in. Plug in second monitor The screen on the laptop goes dark. The second monitor acts as the main screen. Click "Detect displays". Nothing happens Unplug the second monitor Screen on the laptop comes on. Any thoughts?

• Problem installing Cardbus/PCMCIA drivers (USB 2.0 2-port)

  I obtained the drivers from the manufacturer for my HT-Link NEC USB 2.0 2-port Cardbus card. When I plugged in the card before I got the drivers, 3 new entries showed up in the Device Manager - two "NEC PCI to USB Open Host Controller" and one "Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host controller." With the card plugged in, I uninstalled those two drivers. I then removed the card. I copied the new drivers to c:\windows\system32\drivers and the .inf file to c:\windows\inf. I also copied the drivers & inf to a new directory called c:\windows\drivers\ousb2. I reinserted the card. Windows automatically installed the same drivers as before. I selected 'update driver' on the "NEC PCI to USB..." entry and didn't see any other options. I then selected 'have disk' and pointed to c:\windows\drivers\ousb2 and got a message "The specified location does not contain information about your hardware." I then selected 'update driver' on the "Standard Enhanced PCI to USB...," and manually selected "USB 2.0 Enhanced Host Controller" (OWC 4/15/2003 2.1.3.1). Windows then automatically found a USB root hub, and I manually selected "USB 2.0 Root Hub Device" (OWC 4/15/2003 2.1.3.1). Now there are two sections in the Device Manager titled "Universal Serial Bus controllers." I plugged in my external USB hard disk adapter, and "USB Mass Storage Device" was added to the first set. Here's how it looks (w/drivers from the properties): [Universal Serial Bus controllers] Intel(R) 82801DB/DBM USB 2.0 Enhanced Host Controller - 24CD (6/1/2002 5.1.2600.0) Intel(R) 82801DB/DBM USB Universal Host Controller - 24C2 (7/1/2001 5.1.2600.5512) Intel(R) 82801DB/DBM USB Universal Host Controller - 24C4 (7/1/2001 5.1.2600.5512) Intel(R) 82801DB/DBM USB Universal Host Controller - 24C7 (7/1/2001 5.1.2600.5512) NEC PCI to USB Open Host Controller (7/1/2001 5.1.2600.5512) NEC PCI to USB Open Host Controller (7/1/2001 5.1.2600.5512) USB Mass Storage Device USB Root Hub (7/1/2001 5.1.2600.5512) (5 more USB Root Hubs - same driver) [Universal Serial Bus controllers] USB 2.0 Enhanced Host Controller (OWC 4/15/2003 2.1.3.1) USB 2.0 Root Hub Device (OWC 4/15/2003 2.1.3.1) When I unplug the card the two "NEC PCI to USB..." entries in the first set disappear, and the whole second set disappears. (I unplugged the hard disk adapter first...) The hard disk adapter still doesn't work in that Cardbus card with the new drivers. I don't think the above looks right - a second set of USB controllers listed in the Device Manager, and the NEC entries still in the first set, and the the USB mass storage device still in the first set. Any help appreciated. (Windows XP PRO SP3 w/all current updates.)

• problem with monitor

  I have an Asus VB191T connected to notebook via DVI connector as secondary monitor. I am observing some problems on that monitor. Photo of a properly functioning screen: Photo of my Asus VB191T screen: So as you can see there are white lines on both sides of black ones. Resolution is set to the monitor's native resolution which is 1280x1024. The artifacts don't appear for every color, and they show up the clearest where there is black on a grey background. What could be wrong? The monitor itself? Perhaps the connector?

  We have a sandbox server running CentOS that we run inside our office. Our ISP has assigned us a block of 5 static IPs. We now want to assign it a static IP. DEVICE=eth0 BOOTPROTO=none # have also tried "static" here HWADDR=00:13:72:*:*:* ONBOOT=yes TYPE=Ethernet NETMASK=255.255.255.0 IPADDR=173.*.*.161 GATEWAY=10.1.10.1 /etc/resolv.cnf is also set with the appropriate name servers from our ISP. When I ifdown eth0 then ifup eth0 I get... SIOCADDRT: Network is unreachable When I switch to DCHP, the machine has an IP assigned and there are no connection problems. Any ideas?

• HP DL580 G5 Hyper-V networking problem

  Hi I have installed the hyper-v role on a DL580 G5 cluster. The host operating system is a server 2008 x64 patched to the maximum. Everything has gone fine, but if I install a guest operating system, actually a windows server 2008 x64 I can't reach the network from it. It send many packets, but don't received any, so I can't ping the external network as well. I have installed the latest drivers to the server and unintalled the network configuration utility from the physical server, but no luck. I added a legacy adapter to the guest binded to the same phisycal adapter on the host machine but it can't help Any idea welcome...
