  • jQuery: Multiple animations with a delay on a set of divs

    - by Waleed
Hey there, I have a group of 4 divs and I'm looking to use jQuery to animate them once, then have a delay using delay(), and then run another set of animations on them, putting the divs back to their original configuration. Here's the code that I have: //only selectors called 'option1' are affected by delay, and not 'option1 img' or 'option2' $("#option1").showOption1().delay(3000).hideOption1(); //if i don't attach to #option1, delay doesn't work, but the animations that need to happen simultaneously work $(document).showOption1().delay(3000).hideOption1(); jQuery.fn.showOption1 = function(){ $("#option2, #option3, #leftColumn").fadeOut(1000); $("#option1").css("zIndex", "5"); $("#option1").animate({ left: "370px", }, 1500); $("#option1 img").animate({ width: "500px", }, 1500, function(){ $("p.optionText").text('hello'); }); return this; } jQuery.fn.hideOption1 = function(){ $("#option1 img").animate({ width: "175px", }, 1500); $("#option1").animate({ left: "743px", }, 1500); $("#option2, #option3, #leftColumn").fadeIn(2000); $("#option1").css("zIndex", "1"); return this; } I've tried two ways of running these two functions, as seen on lines 2 and 5. In the case of line 2, showOption1() will run fine, but then only $("#option1").animate({ left: "743px", }, 1500); will work from hideOption1() after the delay. The rest of hideOption1() is fired immediately after showOption1() finishes, ignoring the delay. On the other hand, if I run line 5, all the code in hideOption1() runs simultaneously as desired, but ignores the delay entirely, running immediately after showOption1() finishes. How can I have all the code in hideOption1() run simultaneously after the delay? Thanks much in advance!

  • jquery - loading inline javascript via AJAX

    - by yaya3
I have thrown together a quick prototype to try and establish a few very basic truths regarding what inline JavaScript can do when it is loaded with AJAX: index.html <html> <head> <script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1/jquery.min.js"></script> </head> <body> <script type="text/javascript"> $('p').css('color','white'); alert($('p').css('color')); // DISPLAYS FIRST but is "undefined" $(document).ready(function(){ $('#ajax-loaded-content-wrapper').load('loaded-by-ajax.html', function(){ $('p').css('color','grey'); alert($('p').css('color')); // DISPLAYS LAST (as expected) }); $('p').css('color','purple'); alert($('p').css('color')); // DISPLAYS SECOND }); </script> <p>Content not loaded by ajax</p> <div id="ajax-loaded-content-wrapper"> </div> </body> </html> loaded-by-ajax.html <p>Some content loaded by ajax</p> <script type="text/javascript"> $('p').css('color','yellow'); alert($('p').css('color')); // DISPLAYS THIRD $(document).ready(function(){ $('p').css('color','pink'); alert($('p').css('color')); // DISPLAYS FOURTH }); </script> <p>Some content loaded by ajax</p> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $('p').css('color','blue'); alert($('p').css('color')); // DISPLAYS FIFTH }); $('p').css('color','green'); alert($('p').css('color')); // DISPLAYS SIX </script> <p>Some content loaded by ajax</p> Notes: a) All of the above (except the first) successfully change the colour of all the paragraphs (in firefox 3.6.3). b) I've used alert instead of console.log as console is undefined when called in the 'loaded' HTML. Truths(?): $(document).ready() does not treat the 'loaded' HTML as a new document, or reread the entire DOM tree including the loaded HTML, it is pointless inside AJAX loaded content JavaScript that is contained inside 'loaded' HTML can effect the style of existing DOM nodes One can successfully use the jQuery library inside 'loaded' HTML to effect the style of existing DOM nodes One can not use the firebug inside 'loaded' HTML can effect the existing DOM (proven by Note a) Am I correct in deriving these 'truths' from my tests (test validity)? If not, how would you test for these?

  • How to eager load sibling data using LINQ to SQL?

    - by Scott
The goal is to issue the fewest queries to SQL Server using LINQ to SQL without using anonymous types. The return type for the method will need to be IList<Child1>. The relationships are as follows: Parent Child1 Child2 Grandchild1 Parent Child1 is a one-to-many relationship Child1 Grandchild1 is a one-to-n relationship (where n is zero to infinity) Parent Child2 is a one-to-n relationship (where n is zero to infinity) I am able to eager load the Parent, Child1 and Grandchild1 data resulting in one query to SQL Server. This query with load options eager loads all of the data, except the sibling data (Child2): DataLoadOptions loadOptions = new DataLoadOptions(); loadOptions.LoadWith<Child1>(o => o.GrandChild1List); loadOptions.LoadWith<Child1>(o => o.Parent); dataContext.LoadOptions = loadOptions; IQueryable<Child1> children = from child in dataContext.Child1 select child; I need to load the sibling data as well. One approach I have tried is splitting the query into two LINQ to SQL queries and merging the result sets together (not pretty), however upon accessing the sibling data it is lazy loaded anyway. Adding the sibling load option will issue a query to SQL Server for each Grandchild1 and Child2 record (which is exactly what I am trying to avoid): DataLoadOptions loadOptions = new DataLoadOptions(); loadOptions.LoadWith<Child1>(o => o.GrandChild1List); loadOptions.LoadWith<Child1>(o => o.Parent); loadOptions.LoadWith<Parent>(o => o.Child2List); dataContext.LoadOptions = loadOptions; IQueryable<Child1> children = from child in dataContext.Child1 select child; exec sp_executesql N'SELECT * FROM [dbo].[Child2] AS [t0] WHERE [t0].[ForeignKeyToParent] = @p0',N'@p0 int',@p0=1 exec sp_executesql N'SELECT * FROM [dbo].[Child2] AS [t0] WHERE [t0].[ForeignKeyToParent] = @p0',N'@p0 int',@p0=2 exec sp_executesql N'SELECT * FROM [dbo].[Child2] AS [t0] WHERE [t0].[ForeignKeyToParent] = @p0',N'@p0 int',@p0=3 exec sp_executesql N'SELECT * FROM [dbo].[Child2] AS [t0] WHERE [t0].[ForeignKeyToParent] = @p0',N'@p0 int',@p0=4 I've also written LINQ to SQL queries to join in all of the data in hopes that it would eager load the data, however when the LINQ to SQL EntitySet of Child2 or Grandchild1 are accessed it lazy loads the data. The reason for returning the IList<Child1> is to hydrate business objects. My thoughts are I am either: Approaching this problem the wrong way. Have the option of calling a stored procedure? My organization should not be using LINQ to SQL as an ORM? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you, -Scott

  • addSublayer vs addSubView which is more efficient?

    - by soonio
I have 5 UIImageViews for displaying 5 images. For my app, I need swap the order of them depending on some events. I achieve this by calling: [anImageView1 removeFromSuperview]; [self.view insertSubview:anImageView1 aboveSubview:anImageView2]; Recently, I've come across a different method for doing this using 1 UIView and 5 UIImageViews. Each layer of UIImageViews are added to this UIView by calling [aView.layer addSublayer:anImageView1.layer]; [aView.layer addSublayer:anImageView2.layer]; etc. and then in order to swap the order of things by calling [anImageView1.layer removeFromSuperLayer]; [aView.layer insertSublayer:anImageView1 above: anImageView2] Both methods work fine, but can someone please point out which method is better and why? I really can't seem to be able to find much on CALayer... Please help! Thank you so much!

  • CALayer and Quartz Transparency

    - by Brian
I have a CALayer subclass. I have overridden the drawInContext method. I want the majority of my layer to be transparent except a few areas. I'm using the layer as a menu and I want the icons and labels on the menu to be opaque. Is it possible to have a CALayer's sublayers be opaque if the super CALayer is transparent? Is it possible to draw opaque tems in the drawInContext method of a transparent CALayer? I have tried using CGContextSetAlpha, but I assume it doesn't work since the CALayer that I am drawing for is transparent. As always, any help would be great.

  • Loading a RSA private key from memory using libxmlsec

    - by ereOn
Hello, I'm currently using libxmlsec into my C++ software and I try to load a RSA private key from memory. To do this, I searched trough the API and found this function. It takes binary data, a size, a format string and several PEM-callback related parameters. When I call the function, it just stucks, uses 100% of the CPU time and never returns. Quite annoying, because I have no way of finding out what is wrong. Here is my code: d_xmlsec_dsig_context->signKey = xmlSecCryptoAppKeyLoadMemory( reinterpret_cast<const xmlSecByte*>(data), static_cast<xmlSecSize>(datalen), xmlSecKeyDataFormatBinary, NULL, NULL, NULL ); data is a const char* pointing to the raw bytes of my RSA key (using i2d_RSAPrivateKey(), from OpenSSL) and datalen the size of data. My test private key doesn't have a passphrase so I decided not to use the callbacks for the time being. Has someone already done something similar ? Do you guys see anything that I could change/test to get forward on this problem ? I just discovered the library on yesterday, so I might miss something obvious here; I just can't see it. Thank you very much for your help.

  • classpath and class loading on weblogic

    - by qjeta
Hello, I am trying to create and load dynamically classes in weblogic (10.3.2.0). It is ADF application which I deploy to the weblogic server. When I print ((GenericClassLoader)this.getClass().getClassLoader()).getFinderClassPath() I see the path to my directory (of course not just this path) C:\...\system11.1.1.2.36.55.36\DefaultDomain\servers\DefaultServer\tmp\_WL_user\test\753the\dynamicClasses (I have added directory dynamicClasses to manifest for deployment WAR profile). In this directory I create class files. I have checked it, files are really created there. When I try to load created class with the same classloader, for which I have printed classpath, ClassNotFoundException is thrown. It knows the path to the directory with classes and to jar file, but it doesn't load classes. With URLClassLoader I can load classes. But I need so that my classes would be seen by the classes loaded "usual" way. I am able to run it correctly just with system CLASSPATH. Please, do you know an explanation? Is the manifest file in WAR the wrong place for specifiing classpath? Thank you in advance Qjeta

  • images are getting clipped when Jquery animate opacity is used in IE

    - by Raja
I use the function given below: function rotate() { //Get the first image var current = ($('div#rotator ul li.show') ? $('div#rotator ul li.show') : $('div#rotator ul li:first')); //Get next image, when it reaches the end, rotate it back to the first image var next = ((current.next().length) ? ((current.next().hasClass('show')) ? $('div#rotator ul li:first') : current.next()) : $('div#rotator ul li:first')); //Set the fade in effect for the next image, the show class has higher z-index next.css({ opacity: 0.0 }) .addClass('show') .animate({ opacity: 1.0 }, 1000); //Hide the current image current.animate({ opacity: 0.0 }, 1000) .removeClass('show'); }; It does a slide show of images. It works perfect on Firefox and Google Chrome but clips the images in IE 7 and IE 8. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • PHP Doctrine frustration: loading models doesn't work..?

    - by ropstah
    I'm almost losing it, i really hope someone can help me out! I'm using Doctrine with CodeIgniter. Everything is setup correctly and works until I generate the classes and view the website. Fatal error: Class 'BaseObjecten' not found in /var/www/vhosts/domain.com/application/models/Objecten.php on line 13 I'm using the following bootstrapper (as CodeIgniter plugin): <?php // system/application/plugins/doctrine_pi.php // load Doctrine library require_once BASEPATH . '/plugins/Doctrine/lib/Doctrine.php'; // load database configuration from CodeIgniter require_once APPPATH.'/config/database.php'; // this will allow Doctrine to load Model classes automatically spl_autoload_register(array('Doctrine', 'autoload')); // we load our database connections into Doctrine_Manager // this loop allows us to use multiple connections later on foreach ($db as $connection_name => $db_values) { // first we must convert to dsn format $dsn = $db[$connection_name]['dbdriver'] . '://' . $db[$connection_name]['username'] . ':' . $db[$connection_name]['password']. '@' . $db[$connection_name]['hostname'] . '/' . $db[$connection_name]['database']; Doctrine_Manager::connection($dsn,$connection_name); } // CodeIgniter's Model class needs to be loaded require_once BASEPATH.'/libraries/Model.php'; // telling Doctrine where our models are located Doctrine::loadModels(APPPATH.'/models'); // (OPTIONAL) CONFIGURATION BELOW // this will allow us to use "mutators" Doctrine_Manager::getInstance()->setAttribute( Doctrine::ATTR_AUTO_ACCESSOR_OVERRIDE, true); // this sets all table columns to notnull and unsigned (for ints) by default Doctrine_Manager::getInstance()->setAttribute( Doctrine::ATTR_DEFAULT_COLUMN_OPTIONS, array('notnull' => true, 'unsigned' => true)); // set the default primary key to be named 'id', integer, 4 bytes Doctrine_Manager::getInstance()->setAttribute( Doctrine::ATTR_DEFAULT_IDENTIFIER_OPTIONS, array('name' => 'id', 'type' => 'integer', 'length' => 4)); ?> Anyone? p.s. I also tried adding the following right after // (OPTIONAL CONFIGURATION) Doctrine_Manager::getInstance()->setAttribute(Doctrine::ATTR_MODEL_LOADING, Doctrine::MODEL_LOADING_CONSERVATIVE); spl_autoload_register(array('Doctrine', 'modelsAutoload'));

  • Silverlight - Image Not Loading from URI at Runtime!?

    - by Sootah
I've added an image element to my Silverlight app, and while the image pulls right up when in design mode, it doesn't load at all when running the app. Code is: <Image Height="95" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Margin="12,541,0,0" Name="imgBannerAd" Stretch="Fill" VerticalAlignment="Top" Width="828" Source="http://myurl.com/images/theimage.png" /> What's the deal? I'd tried running the file via the local hard drive and localhost, neither has any effect.

  • ActiveX control loading but not activating correctly (only when using in Reg Free COM)

    - by embnut
I have an ActiveX control (created using C#) that I am adding to a form in Visual FoxPro using late binding. It works without problems when I register the control. I want to use reg free COM and created necessary manifest files. Now it load and displays in an inactive state until I double click or programatically activate it. I don't think it has anything to do with the reg free com manifest files. However is there something I need to do to set it up before/after making the late binding call AddObject()? this.AddObject('OleControl1', 'oleControl', 'SomeCompany.SomeOleControl') When I check the OleTypeAllowed Property of the OleControl created by AddObject() it is 1 (Embedded OLE object) instead of -2 (ActiveX object). So the OleControl got instantiated to the wrong type. I also tried the following: DEFINE(d) a subclass of OleControl and set the property OleTypeAllowed = -2. Used late binding to load the control. It did not work as required. The OleTypeAllowed came back as 1 Registered the ActiveX control. Added the ActiveX control to the project as a subclass using the visual editor. Unregistered the control. Used late binding to load the control. It did not work as required. The OleTypeAllowed came back as 1. Is it possible to load the OleControl as a ActiveX control? Any input from VB that I can convert to FoxPro would also be appreciated.

  • loading multiple .mat files in MATLAB

    - by smilingbuddha
I have 110 files named time1.mat, time2.mat ..., time110.mat. I want to load these matrices into the MATLAB workspace. I have always used load -'ASCII' matrix.mat to load an ASCII matrix file in the current folder. So I tried doing for i=1:10 filename=strcat('time',int2str(i),'.mat'); load -'ASCII' filename end But I am getting a MATLAB error as ??? Error using ==> load Unable to read file filename: No such file or directory. ? Of course the string filename seems to be evaluated correctly by MATLAB as time1.mat. in the first iteration where it crashes at the load line. Any suggestions how I should do this?

  • glitchy stuttery iphone game loop

    - by Adam
This is a problem I've been trying to solve for a few days now, and I've looked at the various solutions on stackoverflow and nothing has really seemed to work for me. I'm making an iPhone game with OpenGLES graphics and accelerometer input, at this point it's very simple, but the rendering is already pretty bad... it stutters and seems to jump back or forward in time. It doesn't happen a lot, but it happens enough to be a problem. I mean, who wants to play a game where a bullet gets magically transported into the player, and then it's game over? No one. I've tried using NSTimer for the game loop, I've tried using a separate thread (with a frame rate and continuously) I've tried using different frame rates, from 30FPS to 60FPS (It seems to have a max frame rate around 45FPS, but no problems at 30FPS) I've tried using timeIntervalSince1970 and CFGetAbsoluteTime to measure loop time, with no noticeable diffence Anyone have any ideas on what is the best way to get this looking better? One of the posts I've read suggested running the simulation at a fixed frame rate and then just render as fast as possible, does that seem like a good idea?

  • LazyList<T> vs System.Lazy<List<T>> in ASP.NET MVC 2?

    - by FreshCode
    In Rob Conery's Storefront series, Rob makes extensive use of the LazyList<..> construct to pull data from IQueryables. How does this differ from the System.Lazy<...> construct now available in .NET 4.0 (and perhaps earlier)? More depth based on DoctaJones' great answer: Would you recommend one over the other if I wanted to operate on IQueryable as a List<T>? I'm assuming that since Lazy<T> is in the framework now, it is a safer bet for future support and maintainability? If I want to use a strong type instead of an anonymous (var) type would the following statements be functionally equivalent? Lazy<List<Products>> Products = new Lazy<List<Product>>(); LazyList<Product> = new LazyList<Product>();

  • Loading .png image from array of uint8_t into OpenGL ES texture

    - by unknownthreat
Normally, when we want to load a texture for OpenGL ES with .png, we simply add the .png images into XCode. The .png files will be altered for optimization by XCode and these altered png files can loaded into OpenGL ES texture during the runtime. However, what I am trying to do is quite different. I am trying to load a .png file that is not from the prebuilt/compile. The png file will be transmitted externally from UDP, and it will be in the form of array of bytes. I am very sure that the png is transferred correctly, but when it comes to displaying the png image in the form of the OpenGL ES texture, the image somehow shows incorrectly. The colors that are being sent are presented but the positions are somehow very incorrect. However, the position of the colors still retain some aspects of the original position. Here: The left image shows the original .png, while the right shows the png being displayed on iPhone using OpenGL ES Texture. It looks more like the png data is not being decoded or incorrectly processed. Below is OpenGL ES code for turning the image into texture: - (void) setTextureFromImageByte: (uint8_t*)imageByte{ if (self = [super init]){ NSData* imageData = [[NSData alloc] initWithBytes: imageByte length: imageLength]; UIImage* img = [[UIImage alloc] initWithData: imageData]; CGImageRef image = img.CGImage; int width = 512; int height = 512; if (image){ int tempWidth = (int)width, tempHeight = (int)height; if ((tempWidth & (tempWidth - 1)) != 0 ){ NSLog(@"CAUTION! width is not power of 2. width == %d", tempWidth); }else if ((tempHeight & (tempHeight - 1)) != 0 ){ NSLog(@"CAUTION! height is not power of 2. height == %d", tempHeight); }else{ void *spriteData = calloc(width * 4, height * 4); CGContextRef spriteContext = CGBitmapContextCreate(spriteData, width, height, 8, width*4, CGImageGetColorSpace(image), kCGImageAlphaPremultipliedLast); CGContextDrawImage(spriteContext, CGRectMake(0.0, 0.0, width, height), image); CGContextRelease(spriteContext); glBindTexture(GL_TEXTURE_2D, 1); glTexSubImage2D(GL_TEXTURE_2D, 0, 0, 0, 320, 435, GL_RGBA, GL_UNSIGNED_BYTE, spriteData); free(spriteData); } }else NSLog(@"ERROR: Image not loaded..."); [img release]; [imageData release]; } } So does anyone knows how to deal with this? Is it because of iPhone only accepts altered png from XCode? What can we do in this case in order to make the png image be able to display correctly?
