    My object graph is simple. I've a feedentry object that stores info about RSS feeds and a relationship called Tag that links to "TagValues" object. Both the relation (to and inverse) are to-many. i.e, a feed can have multiple tags and a tag can be associated to multiple feeds.   • how to prevent MPMoviePlayer controls from hiding

    I am trying to implement a custom MPMoviePlayer to play mp3 audio. I have got it working in portrait mode along with an overlay window over the native controls - thanks to other stackoverflow posts. The current issue is the song progress control shows up when the media window opens (blue bar taking up the first 40 odd pixels), but seems to disappear when the song starts leaving a white bar. It will then re-appear when touching the area, so functionally works fine. I would like to find a way to ensure the controls always stay visible but have not found an appropriate property in the reference. Ideally I would like to have my custom control to replace the default, more because I would like to change the position that the look and feel. This being said, I understand it is not possible as the current position in the song from a MPMoviePlayer cannot be accessed.

    Hello! The title explains all... I have this snippet of code in my application: String url = createTelUrl("3112007315"); Intent intent = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_CALL); intent.setData(Uri.parse(url)); context.startActivity(intent); It does make a call, but once the call ends, my application crashes. I'd like to return to my application once the call has finished, but I read this post and it seems not to be possible. So... is there anyway to at least pause my application and resume it once the call has finished? Thank you so much for reading.

    One of the requested features for my apps is to have an export feature. Most of the time the data is table-like in nature. As an example, users might enter every day what types of food they ate that day, and how many portions of each food type. As the data is table-like, I figure the most useful for export would be into CSV format. Then it can be read in spreadsheet software. I'm confident I can get the data into a CSV like format without too much trouble, and found this post would should help me: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1512883/how-to-convert-data-to-csv-or-html-format What I'm wondering about is what I can do with the file once it has been created? Can I attach it to an email? How else can I make it available to the user so that it has some use? Alternatively, am I going about this the wrong way and would there be a better way to offer an export function?

  • Passing touch events on to subviews

    I have a view within a UIScrollView that loads an additional subview when the user presses a certain area. When this additional subview is visible, I want all touch events to be handled by this - and not by the scrollview. It seems like the first couple events are being handled by the subview, but then touchesCancelled is called and the scrollview takes over the touch detection. How can I make sure that the subview gets all the events as long as the movement activity is being performed on this view?     I wrote a few iPhone apps using Core Data for persistent storage. Everything is working great but I would like to add the ability for users to back up their data to a PC (via WiFi to a PC app) or to a web server. This is new to me and I can't seem to figure out where to begin researching the problem. I don't want to overcomplicate the issue if there is an easy way to implement this. Is anyone familiar enough with what I am looking to do to point me in the right direction or give me a high level overview of what I should be considering?     ok. I have a really odd and mind boggling problem. I have two class files, both of which are NSObject inheritors. The series of code is as follows CustomClass *obj; obj = [[CustomClass alloc] init]; [myArray addObject:obj]; <--------Immediately after this line if I hover over the array it shows it as having 1 object that is out of scope. If I hover over both objects they both have what look to be initialized memory locations so I really have no idea what is going on here. Thanks in advance.

Clearly I am doing something very wrong here. Is there an easier way to share objects between different a number view controllers (both coded and xib)?

    I've been reading through a number of questions on this site regarding NSURLConnection and https, but most relate to "untrusted" certificates and how to allow them nonetheless. My question is a little more basic. I am building an app for a client who handle online donations, and I would like to load their donation script using an NSLURLRequest and POST the values of credit card details (entered in the app). Does NSURLConnection (when connecting to a https url) ensure the encryption of those details as they are sent to the donation script on my clients server? Sorry if this is a basic question, I just couldn't find a place in the apple docs that guaranteed this.

    Hi, I'm having a problem with the UIWebView and MPMoviePlayerController: My UIWebView have a movie inside the html (it's a local html file), I'm using html5 and a video tag for the video. The problem is: the user can set the video to play inline, directly on the html or he can tap the fullscreen button, but I need to know if the video is playing fullscreen. I've tried to use MPMoviePlayerDidEnterFullscreenNotification but with no success. Does anybody know how to get this notification from the webview? Thanks in advance

Recommendations included disabling ipv6 (that did not work) and disabling ipv4 and leaving ipv6 (will not work for me as my router and ISP don't support it and so could not test anyway).     I'm using the standard People Picker Navigation Controller to let users associate one of their contacts with one of my objects. It presents itself as a long list of ALL contacts. The back button (top left) says "Groups" but when clicked on it shows an empty screen...even when there are many Groups in the user's address book. I've read through the docs and can't seem to find how to populate the Groups area. Here's how I present the people picker.
