  • How to set up virtual hosts properly on a windows machine using Zend Community CE ?

    I have set up Zend Server CE on a windows machine and am having the hardest time setting up virtual hosts. No matter what I do, links on my local machine are showing "localhost" in the path causing all images and links to not work properly. I have the following in my vhosts file and while the site loads up, most links show "local host in them". Please help.     Es gibt eine ganze Reihe an Oracle Tools für die Oracle Datenbank, die per Command Line Interfaces bedient werden können: Von RMAN über ADRCI, vom SQL*Loader über Export/Import, von SRVCTL über SQL*Plus. Und wie es sich für ordentliche Werkzeug gehört, besitzt auch (fast) jedes einzelne von ihnen eine eigene Hilfestellung. Wobei die Betonung eindeutig auf "eigene" liegt. Auch der ungeübte Benutzer wird sehr schnell merken, dass Oracle sich hier wohl nie so wirklich Gedanken darüber gemacht hat, die Hilfefunktionen zu vereinheitlichen - außer dass die Hilfe mehr oder weniger hilfreich ist. Die wohl interessanteste Ausprägung dieser Hilfefunktion ist hier sicherlich der RMAN, dessen umfangreiche Syntaxhilfe nur schwer zu erhalten ist - es sei denn man vertippt sich absichtlich. Solange man alles richtig macht (oder eben falsch, aber leider mit der richtigen Syntax) ist RMAN kein Hinweis über seine umfangreichen Syntaxchecker zu "entlocken".   • Best solution for getting referral information in PHP

    I am currently redoing some link structuring on a website. In the past we have used specific php files on the last step to direct the user to the proper place. Example: www.mysite.com/action/go-to-blue.php or www.mysite.com/action/short/go-to-red.php www.mysite.com/action/tall/go-to-red.php We are now restructuring to eliminate the /short/ or /tall/ directory. What this means is now "go-to-blue.php" will be doing some extra processing to make sure it sends the visitor to the proper place. The static method of the past was quite effective, because, well, if they left from that page we knew we had it right. Now since we are 301 redirecting action/short/go-to-red.php to just action/go-to-red.php it is quite important on "go-to-red.php" that we realize a user may have been redirected from /short/ or /tall/. So right now I am using HTTP_REFERRER and of course in my testing that works fine, but after a lot of reading it is clear that this is not a solid solution, so I was starting to brainstorm on other ways to check and make sure we get the proper referral information. If we could check HTTP_REFERRER plus some other test, I would feel confident we have a pretty good system in place to send the visitor to the right place. Some questions/comments: Could I use a session variable or a cookie to accomplish this goal? If so, would that be maintained through the 301 redirect? I don't see why it wouldn't be.. Passing the url in the url is not an option in this case.

    Oracle Label Security (OLS) ist eine Option der Enterprise Edition der Datenbank seit der Datenbankversion 9.0.1. Es handelt sich bei OLS um eine fertige Anwendung, die vollständig auf Oracle Virtual Private Database (VPD) aufgebaut ist. Obwohl es sich also bei OLS um ein 'gestandenes' Oracle Produkt handelt, ist es vielen Kunden unbekannt. Oder vielleicht sollte man präziser sagen: Kaum ein Kunde redet über OLS. Das liegt sicherlich in erster Linie daran, dass Kunden, die sensibel für Security Fragen sind, sowieso nicht gerne Auskunft geben über die Massnahmen, die sie selbst ergriffen haben, sich zu schützen. Wenn man dann noch bedenkt, dass die Kunden, die OLS einsetzen, häufig aus Bereichen stammen, die für ihre Diskretion bekannt sind - Dienste, Polizei, Militär, Banken - hat man einen weiteren Grund dafür gefunden, warum so wenige über OLS reden. Das ist allerdings bedauerlich, denn besonders in dieser Zeit steigenden Security Bewusstseins, verdient OLS auf jeden Fall mehr Aufmerksamkeit. Dieser Tipp möchte deshalb dazu beitragen, OLS bekannter zu machen. Dazu werden zunächst einige einführende Informationen zu OLS gegeben.     Gestern hat Oracle bekanntgegeben, dass die beiden Produkte Oracle Audit Vault und Oracle Database Firewall zu einem Produkt werden. Der neue Produktname wird "Oracle Audit Vault and Database Firewall" sein. Software und Dokumentation werden in den nächsten Tagen zum Download verfügbar sein. Das Zusammenlegen macht durchaus Sinn, denn die ursprünglichen Produkte wiesen im Bereich der Protokollierung und des Berichtswesens deutliche Überschneidungen auf. Damit lag es nahe, die Repositories für das Speichern des Protokolls zu vereinheitlichen. Endlich wird es im Bereich Auditing durch die Einführung eines Development Kits auch möglich sein, Systeme anzubinden, für die Oracle keine vorgefertigten Konnektoren / Kollektoren liefert. Mit der Zusammenlegung verbunden ist ein völlig neues Lizenzierungsmodell, das zu deutlichen Kostensenkungen für kleinere und mittlere Installationen führt.

  • Flashback Database

    Flashback Database bezeichnet die Funktionalität der Oracle Datenbank, die Datenbank zeitlich auf einen bestimmten Punkt, respektive eine bestimmte System Change Number (SCN) zurücksetzen zu können - vergleichbar mit einem Rückspulknopf eines Kassettenrekorders oder der Rücksetztaste eines CD-Players. Mag dieses Vorgehen bei Produktivsystemen eher selten Einsatz finden, da beim Rücksetzten alle Daten nach dem zurückgesetzten Zeitpunkt verloren wären (es sei denn man würde dieser vorher exportieren), gibt es gerade für Test- oder Standby Systeme viele Einsatzmöglichkeiten: Rücksetzten des Systems bei fehlgeschlagenen Applikations-Upgrade Alternatives Point in Time Recovery (PITR) mit anschließendem Roll Forward (besonders geeignet bei Standby Systemen) Testdatenbank mit definiertem, reproduzierbaren Ausgangspunkt (z.B. für Real Application Testing) Datenbank Upgrade Test Einige bestehende Datenbank Funktionalitäten verwenden Flashback Database implizit: Snapshot Standby Reinstanziierung der Standby (z.B. bei Fast Start Failover) Obwohl diese Funktionalität gerade für Standby Systeme und Testsysteme bestens geeignet ist, gibt es eine gewisse Zurückhaltung Flashback Database einzusetzen. Eine Ursache ist oft die Angst vor zusätzlicher Last, die das Schreiben der Flashback Logs erzeugt, sowie der zusätzlich benötigte Plattenplatz. Dabei ist die Last im Normalfall relativ gering (ca. 5%) und auch der zusätzlich benötigte Platz für die Flashback Logs lässt sich relativ genau bestimmen. Ebenfalls wird häufig nicht beachtet, dass es auch ohne das explizite Einschalten der Flashback Logs möglich ist, einen garantieren Rücksetzpunkt (Guaranteed Restore Point kurz GRP) festzulegen, und die Datenbank dann auf diesen Restore Point zurückzusetzen. Das Setzen eines garantierten Rücksetzpunktes funktioniert in 11gR2 im laufenden Betrieb. Wie dies genau funktioniert, welche Unterschiede es zum generellen Einschalten von Flashback Logs gibt, wie man Flashback Database monitoren kann und was es sonst noch zu berücksichtigen gibt, damit beschäftigt sich dieser Tipp.

    I am making a game like this : Yellow Smiley has to escape from red smileys, when yellow smiley hits the boundary game is over, when red smileys hit the boundary they should bounce back with the same angle they came, like shown below: Every 10 seconds a new red smiley comes in the big circle, when red smiley hits yellow, game is over, speed and starting angle of red smileys should be random. I control the yellow smiley with arrow keys. The biggest problem I have reflecting the red smileys from the boundary with the angle they came. I don't know how I can give a starting angle to a red smiley and bouncing it with the angle it came. I would be glad for any tips!     I implemented the minimum translation vector from codezealot's tutorial on SAT (Separating Axis Theorem) but I'm having an issue I can't quite figure out. Here's the example I have: As you can see in top and bottom left images regardless of the side the of the green car which red car is penetrating the MTV for the red car still remains as a negative number also here is the same example when the front of the red car is facing the opposite direction the number will always be positive. When the red car is past the half way through the green car it should switch polarity. I thought I'd compensated for this in my code, but apparently not either that or it's a bug I can find.   • What's the best way to compare blocks in a matching game that can be multiple colors?

    I have a match 3-4 game and the blocks can be one of 7 colors. There are an addition 7 blocks that are a mix of the original 7 colors so for example there is a red and blue block and there is also a red/blue block which can be matched with either the red or the blue. My original thought is just to use binary operations so. int red = 0x000000001; int blue = 0x000000010; int redblue = 0x000000011; Then just do an & operation so see if they match. Does this sound like a decent plan or am I over complicating it? edit: Better yet so it's more readable. int red = 1; int blue = 2; int red_blue = 3; int yellow = 4; int red_yellow = 5; maybe as defines or static vars?

Das liegt sowohl an der vereinfachten Überwachungstätigkeiten für die Oracle Datenbank, Listener und ASM Instanz, als auch an einigen weiterführenden Features, wie der einfachen Service Verwaltung für Single Instanz, DataGuard und/oder RAC. Dabei kommen insbesondere den Cluster Ready Services (CRS), einem Bestandteil der Clusterware Komponente der Grid Infrastruktur, eine wichtige Bedeutung zu, da diese intern alle Ressourcen steuert. Ressourcen können hierbei natürlich nicht nur die Oracle Prozesse (Datenbank, Listener, Virtuelle IP Adressen etc.) sein, sondern auch eigene Applikationen, die unter die Überwachung der Grid Infrastruktur resp. Clusterware gestellt werden. Dies kann von simplen Neustartanforderungen im Single Server Betrieb bis zu klassischen Failover Szenarien in Clusterumgebungen reichen. Diesem Aspekt trägt auch die Tatsache Rechnung, dass es seit einiger Zeit generische Applikations-Agenten (Siebel, Tomcat, GoldenGate, Apache, ...) für die Clusterware gibt und eine abgespeckte GI Installation auf der Oracle eigenen Middleware Hardware (Exalogic) läuft, um die Prozesse zu überwachen. Diese Cluster Ready Services werden vom Befehl "crsctl" gesteuert. Deshalb lohnt es sich dieses Utility mal genauer anzuschauen, zumal es einige Feinheiten enthält, die nicht direkt aus der Dokumentation bzw. Hilfe des Tools ersichtlich sind.

What about this,  brief musings about trust: Each software, each website, each social platform, each community building effort is a matter of trust building. You make a social promise to continue the effort, and to care for the commitment of the users or community members. It is easy to offer more to your community.     The JCP elections for the JCP Executive Committee (EC) have started today. The ratified candidates are:  Cinterion, Credit Suisse, Fujitsu and HP.The elected candidates are (9 candidates, 2 open seats):  Cisco Systems, CloudBees, Giuseppe Dell'Abate, Liferay, London Java Community, MoroccoJUG, North Sixty-One, Software AG, and Zero Turnaround.   • What Test Environment Setup do Committers Use in the Ruby Community?

    Today I am going to get as far as I can setting up my testing environment and workflow. I'm looking for practical advice on how to setup the test environment from you guys who are very passionate and versed in Ruby Testing. By the end of the day (6am PST?) I would like to be able to: Type one 1-command to run test suites for ANY project I find on Github. Run autotest for ANY Github project so I can fork and make TESTABLE contributions. Build gems from the ground up with Autotest and Shoulda. For one reason or another, I hardly ever run tests for projects I clone from Github. The major reason is because unless they're using RSpec and have a Rake task to run the tests, I don't see the common pattern behind it all. I have built 3 or 4 gems writing tests with RSpec, and while I find the DSL fun, it's less than ideal because it just adds another layer/language of methods I have to learn and remember. So I'm going with Shoulda. But this isn't a question about which testing framework to choose. So the questions are: What is your, the SO reader and Github project committer, test environment setup using autotest so that whenever you git clone a gem, you can run the tests and autotest-develop them if desired? What are the guys who are writing the Paperclip Tests and Authlogic Tests doing? What is their setup? Thanks for the insight. Looking for answers that will make me a more effective tester.

  • BoundingSpheres move when they should not

    I have a XNA 4.0 project in which I load a file that contains type and coordinates of items I need to draw to the screen. Also I need to check if one particular type (the only movable one) is passing in front or trough other items. Now I solved the picking algorithm (checking for ray and bounding sphere intersection) and it works fine, but the collision detection does not. I noticed, while using picking, that BoundingSphere's move even though the objects that they correspond to do not. The movable object is drawn to the world1 Matrix, and the static objects are drawn into the world2 Matrix (world1 and world2 have the same values, I just separated them so that the static elements would not move when the movable one does). The problem is that when I move the item I want, all boundingSpheres move accordingly. How can I move only the boundingSphere that corresponds to that particular item, and leave the rest where they are?

    Das zweite Release von Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c ist jetzt verfügbar und zwar für alle Plattformen, auf denen auch das Vorgängerrelease genutzt werden konnte.
