• TFS webtest for SSRS reports issue

  I am creating webtests in TFS and trying to test reports execution in SSRS. When I record the initial process, it includes Reserved.ReportViewerWebControl.axd files. These files are what is causing the problem. When I remove the files, the report does not display, however if I keep the AXD files in it works fine. The problem with keeping the AXD files is the reportsession querystring variable that are included. If I run the report after a bit the reportsession has obviously changed. Any help is appreciated.

• SQL Reporting Services - Subreports Broken into multiple columns

  Hi, I inherited an SQL Reporting Services .rdl project from somebody and need help fixing some functionality. In each row of the report, there is a subreport. In order to save space the subreport is divided into 3. Such that in each row of the report, it splits the data of the subreport into 3 smaller tables. Right now, it fills these 3 subreports horizontally. (ie. if the result has 9 values, the first subtable will have 1, 4 & 7, the second subtable will have 2, 5 & 8, etc) Is there a way to have it fill the subtables vertically? (ie. the first subtable would have 1,2 & 3) Thanks!

• SSRS 2008 - How to hide the plus icon in a group visibility toggle cell

  I have a report that shows or hides columns in a group based on a header cell. SSRS makes this pretty easy and is kind enough to place a little plus/minus icon in the toggling cell. I want to HIDE this plus/minus icon when there is only one column of data in the subgroup, because it shows that one column by default so expanding the group doesn't do anything. This really only applies to one specific group, because all the others always have more than one column of data, so a way to hide only the icon for a specific group would be fine. JavaScript won't work (I don't think) because the client ID of the plus/minus image is generated by the report and changes with each generation. see this image for more clarity: http://imgur.com/vqaQA.png

The report is having four parts as - Project Info1 (A PDF Table of variable height) Project Info2 (A PDF Table of variable height) Requestor Info (A PDF Table of Fixed height) Location Info (A PDF Table of Fixed height) The top two information are of variable height and they can acquire certain pages. The other two are of fixed size which comes at last. I want to move the last (one or both) boxes to the next page if there is no space available to fit those boxes in current page. If space for one box is available then place one to the current page and move other box to the next table. Is there way to decide this?

  Hi, I am trying to use the Sharp-shooter Silverlight report viewer control. This control has a server side component that renders the reports as XAML for displaying in the client side control. I have tried manually installing the rendering extension, according to the instructions on their website, and also the instructions on MSDN. I have basically copied the dll's into the reporting services bin folder and added the following line to rsreportserver.config file: <Extension Name="XAML" Type="PerpetuumSoft.ReportingService.XamlRendering.XamlRenderer,PerpetuumSoft.ReportingService.XamlRendering"/> I've also added a line into the rssrvpolicy.config file as specified on their site. After I made these changes I went into windows services and restarted the Reporting Services services but I get the following error when I try to run reports: rsRenderingExtensionNotFound: An attempt has been made to use a rendering extension that is not registered for this report server Is there anything else that I need to do to use a custom rendering extension within SSRS 2005?

• Visual Studio Crashes when using Crystal Reports Group Editor

  I have a crystal report in my Visual Studio 2008 ASP.NET project, and when I choose "Group Expert" from the Crystal Reports - Report menu, Visual Studio crashes / hangs and I have to use Task Manager to close the program. This happens no matter how many times I try, and oddly enough it seems to work fine on another computer with the same project. Any help at all in the right direction would be greatly appreciated as I am pulling my hair out trying to figure this out. I am using Visual Studio 2008 SP1, SQL Server 2005 Developer SP2, Windows Vista Enterprise SP1, and the version of Crystal Reports that came with the Visual Studio installation.

• Grep Crystal Reports (with Sub-reports)

  I need a way to quickly search a large number of Crystal reports (with sub-reports) for the names of several stored procedures. (Trying to find dependencies.) I'm running Windows XP and downloaded this grep program - http://www.wingrep.com/download.htm. So far, I'm not convinced that it's working. Does anyone know of a reliable way, other than opening each report and sub-report, to search Crystal reports for the existence of a file name? Thanks in advance for any tips.

  Hi all, I'm creating a pdf file using BIRT reporting library. Later I need to digitally sign these files. I'm using iText to digitally sign the document. The issue I'm facing is, I need to place the signature in different places in different reports. I already have the code to digitally sign the document, now I'm always placing the signature at the bottom of last page in every report. Eventually I need each report to say where I need to place the signature. Then I've to read the location using iText and then place the signature at that location. Is this possible to achieve using BIRT and iText Thanks

• Where is the displaytag of scheduled reporting?

  So I have been making some reports and using displaytag to output these reports in html, csv, excel, pdf, etc. They are paginated, and take a simple object graph... and output excellent results everytime, with very little code. However, I need to use displaytag or its equivalent outside of a jsp. So that a user can schedule a report to run, and that report is stored in a db, or emailed for later viewing. I have looked at jasper-based reporting solutions, but making a jasper jrxml file is just a nightmare. I know there are gui tools to help, but I'm content with the simple output of displaytable, so I'm happy to give up that control for ease of implementation. Really, if I could take the display:table config out of the jsp I would, so please keep that in mind when proposing a solution. btw, java solutions would be my cup of tea.

  As part of some build automation of running xUnit.net tests with MSBuild, I'm running into a case where I need to loop over a batch of items. Inside the loop, I need to detect whether an iteration failed, but I want to continue executing regardless. Then after the batched bit, I need to know whether one or more errors have occurred in order to report the outcome to TeamBuild. IOW, in pseudocode: Task Name=RunTests CreateItems ForEach item CallTarget Target=RunTest ContinueOnError=true CombineNUnitResults Report success/failure Task Name=RunTest XUnit item I'm hoping this can be achieved without a custom task (or hacking the xunit.net MSBuild task as Jonne did).   Hello, I want to change the behaviour of Sugar CRM community version. Here's what sugar currently does: 1) Admin logs into Sugar. 2) Admin clicks on Admin tab. 3) Admin creates a new user named George with admin access 4) Under user information section, Admin makes George report to Admin (in the database, it will show users.report_to_id is the admin's user_id) 5) Admin saves and logs out 6) George logs in with his password 7) George goes to admin tab. 8) George goes to list users page and sees all users, including Admin, the person he is supposed to report to. I want to change step 8 such that George is not allowed to see the user he reports to. Additionally, he is not allowed to see his grand parent user, great grand parent user, great great grand parent user etc... George should only be able to see users that he creates. How can I achieve this? Is this even possible?

  Hi... I'm using iReport 3.7. I have a report with two subreports (order details and some selling statistics), and a grouping by seller. One subreport is located in the Detail band of the group, and the other one is in the group footer. What's really odd is that no matter how long the report is, when I export it to PDF it's always one page long. Is there something I'm missing? Thanks in advance.

• SQL Server Reporting Services - Fast TimeDataRetrieval - Long TimeProcessing

  An application that I support has recently begun experiencing extended periods of time required to execute a report in SQL Server Reporting Services. The reports that are being executed are not terribly complex. There are multiple stored procedures (between 5 and 8) which return anywhere from a handful to 8000 records total. Reports are generally from 2 to 100 pages. One can argue (and I have) the benefit of a 100 page report, but the client is footing the bill. At any rate, the problem is that even the reports with 500 records (11 pages) being returned takes 5 minutes to return to the browser. In the execution log the TimeDataRetrieval is 60 seconds, but the TimeProcessing is 235 seconds. It seems bizarre to me that my query runs so quickly, but it takes Reporting Services so long to process the data. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Kind Regards, Bernie

  Recently a new co-op was hired at our company and has been tasked to run a report. The report queries the database and returns a resultset and from there procedes to create the spreadsheets. Depending on the number of days selected a different number of reports are generated but I do not believe that is relavent to the question. Basically it runs the reports and loops through the resultset but at some point continues to loop through until tow 65536 at which it stops. For Example if the resultset contained 74 records then the first 74 rows would appear normally (formatted yellow) while everything after that would also be formatted yellow although it should be left alone. I am inheriting this code as I to am a new co-op. The query is extremely slow to run from which I believe is the use of views but thats neither here nor there. All you have to know is attempting to debug takes an enormous amount of time due to having to wait for the recordset to return. My guess is that its not checking to see if the resultset is empty correctly. Is there a way I could check to see if theres a value is rs.Fields(0) and base it off that maybe? That is the ID column and there should always be a value. I am wondering why rs.EOF isn't catching this though.

I've also read a topic at ruby-forum: http://www.ruby-forum.com/topic/139453 with some details explained but still couldn't make it work. My first problem is related with the render_to_string method: When the controller method runs I receive a "Template is missing" error: this is the method: def report @customers = Customer.all send_doc(render_to_string(:template => report_customers_path, :layout => false), '/pdfs', 'report.jasper', "customers", 'pdf') end Although this seems simple I'm not understanding why is this happening. Doesn't render_to_string with layout = false suposed to get me the string result of that action? I also tried :action instead of :template, but it does the same. • Using Struts with SpringSource dm server gives Http Status 503 error

  Hi, I developed an enterprise application using spring, struts and hibernate, now I want to transfer it to work with OSGi dm server. I found a book "Pro SpringSource dm server" where the author has explained a way to migrate WAR to OSGi bundles. I successfully migrated the application given in book. The first step of migration says that remove the lib folder in WEB-INF directory and import all the relevant packages. I did the same. Application has been successfully deployed in the dm server. But when I tried to connect to URL it is giving me the error: SpringSource dm Server - Error report HTTP Status 503 - Servlet action is currently unavailable type: Status report message: Servlet action is currently unavailable description: The requested service (Servlet action is currently unavailable) is not currently available. What could be the reason for this? I am out of clues to solve this issue. Can you pass any help you may have. Thanks in anvance.

• Enable Session state in sharePoint 2010

  I setup a test box computer with server 2008 (standard edition, not R2 and not hyper-v editing). I then installed SharePoint 2010. I was amazed how easy the whole setup went (the prerequisites setup on the SharePoint disk made this process oh so easy – great install system). Really this was just so easy. This test box is being used for testing Access web services. I am able to well publish access applications to this test server and Access applications publish and run just fine on the web SharePoint site through an web browser. However, the only thing that does not work is when I launch a Access report. The error message I get back is This report failed to load because session state is not turned on. Here is a screen shot: I can’t seem to find the setting anywhere to turn session state on. Any hints or links on how to enable session state in SharePoint 2010 would be most appreciated.

• MS Access Draw line around detail section that can grow

  This really shouldn't be hard, I just can't figure out how to do it. I am making a proposal report that needs to have a border around it. The problem is to get the vertical lines on the side. I can't figure out how to get a line to grow and shrink based on the height of the detail section. I have used Crystal reports and sure wish Microsoft would learn a few things in regards to MS Access report writing! I am very comfortable with VBA so have no fears there. :-) Thanks, Jeff

  How do I transpose rows and columns in Access 2003? I have a multiple tables that I need to do this on. (I've reworded my question because feedback tells me it was confusing how I originally stated it.) Each table has 30 fields and 20 records. Lets say my fields are Name, Weight, Zip Code, Quality4, Quality5, Quality6 through Quality30 which is favorite movie. Let's say the records each describe a person. The people are Alice, Betty, Chuck, Dave, Edward etc through Tommy.. Do I still have to tweak any specifics to auth.conf for getting this to work? HTTP/1.1" 403 93 "-" "Ruby" On the agent machine facter fqdn and hostname both return a fully qualified host name [amisr1@blramisr195602 ~]$ sudo facter fqdn blramisr195602.XXXXXXX.com I then updated the agent configuration to add dns_alt_names = 10.209.47.31 cleaned all certificates on master and agent and regenerated the certificates and signed them on master using the option --allow-dns-alt-names [amisr1@bangvmpllDA02 ~]$ sudo puppet cert sign blramisr195602.XXXXXX.com Error: CSR 'blramisr195602.XXXXXX.com' contains subject alternative names (DNS:10.209.47.31, DNS:blramisr195602.XXXXXX.com), which are disallowed. Use `puppet cert --allow-dns-alt-names sign blramisr195602.XXXXXX.com` to sign this request. [amisr1@bangvmpllDA02 ~]$ sudo puppet cert --allow-dns-alt-names sign blramisr195602.XXXXXX.com Signed certificate request for blramisr195602.XXXXXX.com Removing file Puppet::SSL::CertificateRequest blramisr195602.XXXXXX.com at '/var/lib/puppet/ssl/ca/requests/blramisr195602.XXXXXX.com.pem' however, that doesn't help either; I get same errors as before. Not sure why in the logs it shows comparing access rules by IP and not hostname. Is there any Nginx configuration to change this behavior?
