  I have to design a network given IPs 146.124.0.0/16 and 146.124.10.0/24. My given requirements are : at least 60 more subnets and maximum 1000 hosts per subnet and use of RIP. I have 3 routers (RA1, RA2, RA3) and 3 subnets (Sales, Logistic and Deposit). I gave WAN1 (RA1-RA3): 146.124.10.0/30, WAN2 (RA2-RA3) : 146.124.10.4/30 and WAN3 (RA1-RA2) : 146.124.10.8/30 and Sales : 146.124.0.0/22, Logistic: 146.124.4.0 and Deposit : 146.124.8.0. When I tried to configure RIP protocol, it didn’t work (I use routerSim 6). What am I doing wrong? Can anyone help please????

  Last week I decided to use TeamViewer VPN to administer software on a server behind a firewall using RemoteDesktop. It was easy to configure to start-up with the system and make VPN available on the other side but now it fails to connect at the step shown below: The remote machine is running Windows Server 2008 R2. Is there a native way to circumvent the external firewall using a server role or feature to make Windows Server do the VPN work? • 421 Concurrent Connections - Ratelimit from helpdesk to rackspace server

  We have Kayako helpdesk running on our WHM Linux server. When e-mails come in from customers, notifications are sent out by Kayako to a number of staff whose mailboxes are hosted on Rackspace mail servers. I noticed a large queue in the Exim queued message viewer of WHM - when looking in Exim logs I can see many lines 2012-10-13 20:06:56 1TN72s-0007Cw-1l SMTP error from remote mail server after initial connection: host mx2.emailsrvr.com [173.203.2.32]: 421 Too many concurrent connections from this client. One client email results in about 5 emails to rackspace servers, perhaps 60 emails per 1 hour on average - not a huge amount but enough to cause messages to be rejected when sent in short bursts. In this case ideally if we can limit the connections sent to the rackspace server we can comply with their limit. For our requirements if we send 1 email every10 seconds or so, this would be OK. Messages to all other servers should go through a normal rates, only mx1.emailsrvr.com and mx2.emailsrvr.com should have this connection limit policy applied. Is this possible?

I am frustrated of not having a good Linux GUI administration and development tool for PostgreSQL. pgAdmin III is buggy and unusable piece of... hmm, software, compared to Windows-only PostgreSQL Maestro and EMS PostgreSQL manager. phpPgaAmin does not looks promising. EMS PostgreSQL manager can work under Wine, but such setup have a number of issues. Requirements are: Table data editing and browsing for large tables (1M+), able to jump by FK or some master-slave editing, GUI filtering and so on. ER diagrams with in-place schema editing Schema editing and browsing with all useful GUI support Schema changes log to put into DB versioning (migrations script). Tabbed interface to be able to work with a number of tables and SQL queries at once. And so on. Any ideas?

• Crop and Capture screen software/plugin for windows7

  Do you know a software or a plugin for a browser that lets me capture what's on my screen and crop it by ratio. I have a photoshop but I don't want to keep opening it just to capture a simple image and then croping it and then saving it. I want to quickly select a portion on my screen save it. If it's possible it lets me crop by ratio (eg. 4:3). Most that I will capture are in my browser, I use either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.   I'm trying to find some tool that helps me monitor several things. What are some requirements: Shows results on a web page. Checks existence of files/folders Checks sizes of files/folders Can parse xml files Can have several status depending if it's for instance, after 9pm Ping workstations/Servers to ensure they are on or off create daily/weekly/monthly reports (pdf, html, csv) show daily/weekly/monthly scheduled tasks check if specific users are logged in a machine check which users are logged in in a machine I've looked into some solutions but could not find what I wanted. Usually tools like nagios are more focused in servers, and spiceworks is not so specific. At this point I'm using a little powershell script that does several of these items, but before losing more time probably reinventing the wheel, what tools are out there? Thank you in advance.

  I have currently set up my web application on Amazon EC2 server. As a well known fact sending email from EC2 has a problem. As a cheap and long lasting solution instead of using "authsmtp" is it possible to rent a server and use it as a Mail Server? I am currently looking for cheap hosting which will give me root access so that it can be configured and used as a relayhost. I am curently using Postfix as MTA. Has any one implemented this before? I am curious about its feasibility of this solution. I guess common requirements are: Dedicated IP which is not black listed Open relay( open to my Server only) Any Tips for Header configurations to keep the mails out of spam folder. This is like exactly cloning authsmtp for personal use. Any suggestions for other Mail Server software instead of Postfix?

  I had a working subversion server which used the passwd file which stores passwords in clear text. My requirements changed so that passwords now need to be encrypted. I did everything according to the book to use SASL, or so I believe, but now only the linux command line can authenticate. My OSX users, which also use command line, and my WinXp users, which use TortoiseSVN get errors. Linux versions are 1.6.11. OSX versions are 1.6.17. • development and music recording machine suggestions?

  I wasn't sure if this belongs on SuperUser so flag if so. I am looking to build, primarily, a windows development machine that is also good for recording using Cubase. I know I should use seperate machines but I'm on a budget this time of year. I also havn't kept up with hardware for quite a few years. Basically I know I want quad core, multiple monitor support (no gaming requirements). A lot of RAM, very quiet case and super fast HDD (SSD OR 10,000RPM)for compiling and latency. I will store libraries and other data on a USB drive. Sound card is not needed as I will be using an audio interface, all other music recording equipment is taken care of also. I could do with some decent monitor recomendations also. All suggestions welcome, thanks.

The office computers are only used for typical office needs but occasionally do connect to the process computers to obtain information from a sql server or for some other purpose. A new initiative is in the works and is rolling down hill from corporate and that is to standardize how the the computers are used at work and they would be severely locked down and only a standard set of applications will be allowed to execute. one of the requirements is to also have non office computers isolated from the company domain. our non-office computers are a mix of Man-Machine interfaces and sql-servers all running software that non standard. My question is, how can we divorce the control systems computers from the company domain but still have access to the servers from the company domain. thanks

• MySQL replication ignore data changes but not table structure changes

  Is there a way to setup MySQL replication so that CREATE TABLE and ALTER TABLE statements get replicated but INSERT, DELETE and UPDATE statements do not? I've got replication working fine and have several tables that are ignored as per the requirements. But we have a requirement that the slaves have an empty copy of the ignored table. We create those empty copies before we start replicating. Since the table is ignored, table structure changes don't get passed down from the master to the slave's empty copy. I know it's a strange requirement.

Everyone in the office authenticates with the DC and interacts with a shared drive where files and documents are stored. I can't help but think...reeeeealy? But I don't know, that's why I'm asking. To me it seems like you need to reach a certain threshold of size and needs before you throw a DC into the mix. ie: a 20+ user business (and growing) with permission requirements that separate the sales team from accounting. To get them on a network , I have a UTStarCom, WA3002G1 ADSL2+ router with a landline broadband connection which has nothing to do with any PC except the configuration settings. Broadband channel is always on, we need to switch on the router and the internet is ready for us. No Internet Connection sharing is done via any PC. I have a limited 20GB monthly plan, which is consumed in 10-20 days, depending upon the download requirements. So in the above case, i need some suggestions from you: How do I monitor my Internet Bandwidth along-with the connected systems, realtime? Any free opensource tool available? Tweaks / Changes in PC to save bandwidth as my ISP do not have any Unlimited plan. PC and Laptops are Windows XP and/Or windows 7. Either of the platform tools are welcome.

• Set-and-forget Windows backup software with NAS-support?

  Hi all, I am looking for set-and-forget backup software for Windows (Vista & 7, and if possible XP/2003). The idea is that it runs in the background on the clients, and does its thing towards a network-share. In case the HDD of one of these clients spontaneously combusts, all I want to have to do is: replace the drive, insert a USB-stick, boot from it, and restore the machine.   Hello, I try to install Mesa 7.8 for CentOS 5. During installation of Mesa I required to install librdm, and during librdm (v. 2.4.19) installing I got error about missing pthread-stubs: checking for PTHREADSTUBS... configure: error: Package requirements (pthread-stubs) were not met: When I try: yum provides *pthread-stubs* I get nothing In other place I found that libxcb-devel is what I need, but yum not find this too. During searching in Google, I found rpm's for Fedora only. Any one know whether there is some packege which provides pthread-stubs for CentOS, or other, less expensive way to install Mesa? • Remote Yum mirror

  I have a bunch of remote computers that must be updated to the most recent packages for RedHat 4 and RedHat 5. I am using mrepo to mirror the RHN packages, however the remote computers do not have an internet connection. Because of this I have to update the mirror server that is part of the remote computers with a dvd. This is to cut down shipping costs to just a dvd. I am attempting to script this so I can fit all of the new packages on a CD or a DVD. I send updates about once or twice a month depending on package requirements. So my question is, is their a good method to do this so that the only things transferred are the new packages? I wish I could just use rsync. Thanks.
