    CMD commands: setx SOMEVARIABLE "newpath" /M setx SOMEVARIABLE "%SOMEVARIABLE%;newpath2" /M Expected output on ECHO %SOMEVARIABLE%: newpath;newpath2 Actual output: %SOMEVARIABLE% Actual value stored (From System Properties-Environment Variables GUI): %SOMEVARIABLE%;newpath2 The only way i can get the expected output is, if i restart the command prompt every time i modify the environment variable. I'm using this command to automate environment variable value appending multiple times during the same process. Why doesn't environment variable get updated in cmd without restart? Is it possible to get the updated value of %SOMEVARIABLE% without restarting the command prompt?

    I am trying to learn PHP classes so I can begin coding more OOP projects. To help me learn I am building a class that uses the Rapidshare API. Here's my class: <?php class RS { public $baseUrl = 'http://api.rapidshare.com/cgi-bin/rsapi.cgi?sub='; function apiCall($params) { echo $baseUrl; } } ?> $params will contain a set of key pair values, like this: $params = array( 'sub' => 'listfiles_v1', 'type' => 'prem', 'login' => '746625', 'password' => 'not_my_real_pass', 'realfolder' => '0', 'fields' => 'filename,downloads,size', ); Which will later be appended to $baseUrl to make the final request URL, but I can't get $baseUrl to appear in my apiCall() method. Or the second way which I was thinking, was create get the output then append it into the middle text file containing the pashua runtime, then execute it, maybe slightly hacky, but I would imagine it will do the job. Any ideas? ++ I know I probably could make my life a lot easier, by doing this in actionscript and cocoa, although at present don't have time for such a learning curve, although I do plan to get round to it.

  • JQuery Passing Variable From href to load()

    I am trying to pass an href id to load() in JQuery, I can see from the alert the returned id# 960, so I know the id value is getting past I just don't know how to append the load url, well the $("#refreshme_"+add_id) is the important part, I use that to refresh the unique div id in the page assigned by the database pull, so it would be looking for id="refreshme_960". My simple example that is obviously not working. I want to refresh the db select part of the page showing the new list of cars. I could repeat the requisite conversions a dozen times by putting them in each of the callers, but it seems much more efficient to do it once in the called method. public String myMethod(String myArg) { return DoSomething(myArg); } public Int32 myMethod(String myArg) { return Convert.ToInt32(DoSomething(myArg)); } private String DoSomething(key) { return SomeList[key]; } If I have multiple methods that pull data from SomeList and have to utilize different data types then in each I have to do a type conversion. Examples might be session variables or query or form requests or any other number of things.   • CakePHP belongsTo relationship with a variable 'model' field.

    I've got a problem with a belongsTo relationship in CakePHP. I've got an "Action" model that uses the "actions" table and belongs to one of two other models, either "Transaction" or "Tag". The idea being that whenever a user completes a transaction or adds a tag, the action model is created to keep a log of it. I've got that part working, whenever a Transaction or Tag is saved, the aftersave() method also adds an Action record. The problem comes when I try to do a find('all') on the Action model, the related Transaction or Tag record is not being returned. actions: id model model_id created I thought I could use the "conditions" parameter in the belongsTo relationship like this: <?php class Action extends AppModel { var $name = 'Action'; var $actsAs = array('Containable'); var $belongsTo = array( 'Transaction' => array( 'foreignKey' => 'model_id', 'conditions' => array("Action.model"=>"Transaction") ), 'User' => array( 'fields' => array('User.username') ), 'Recommendation' => array( 'conditions' => array("Action.model"=>"Recommendation"), 'foreignKey' => 'model_id' ) ); } ?> But that doesn't work. Am I missing something here, are my relationships wrong (I suspect so)? After Googling this problem I cam across something called Polymorphic Behaviour but I'm not sure this will help me.

    I'm creating a group of Perl scripts, and I would like to have one package store a group of constants. I don't want to export them using Exporter because there will be quite a few and I don't want to pollute the namespace. Since there will be so many, I don't want to require the user to be forced to manually specify which they will be using. I think the best way to just use the packagename::var syntax, however it doesn't seem to be working as I expect it to.     In the XMLHttpRequest Spec it says that: The DONE state has an associated error flag that indicates some type of network error or abortion. It can be either true or false and has an initial value of false. Also says something similar about a "send() flag" in an "OPENED" state. It's said in the specification but not in the IDL and when I create a new XMLHttpRequest I can't find those "flags". Where are those boolean variables?

    Problem Building on my previous question, the "extreme" outliers in the following graph are somewhat obvious: Question Given: T - Set of all temperatures Y - Set of all years ST - Sum of temperatures. SY - Sum of years. N - Number of elements T(n) - Temperature of the nth element in the temperature set How would you implement an efficient MySQL stored procedure or user-defined function (UDF) to determine if T(n) is an outlier? (If such an implementation already exists, that would be good to know as well.)   • Simple variable assignment in Excel 2003 VBA

    Hi, I am new to VBA in Excel. I'm setting up a simple macro Option Explicit Sub Macro1() Dim sheet sheet = Worksheets.Item(1) ' This line has the error End Sub On the line with the error, I get "Run-time error '438' Object doesn't support this property or method" I can use the Watch window to see that "Worksheets.Item(1)" is a valid object. I've tried changing it to "Dim sheet As Worksheet" but same result. Ok, so what am I missing? Why does this error occur? Thanks! -Mike
