• A Better way? C# finding controls, finding their id,

• Post data to MVC3 controller without pagerefresh

  I have this script that basically has 4 select boxes, what I want is that for the 2 top select boxes, he submits the optionvalue that is selected to an action (which can be found at "ProductKoppeling/ProductKoppelingPartial"), I want to let him submit this data when I click on an option but without page refresh. I tried JSON and I tried Ajax, but I didn't get it working.. • Confusion about DNS for mail server

  We have migrated to Office365, everything is working except one company cannot email us as its connecting to our subdomains email server. So, We have companionsoftware.com.au hosted through office365 and all the required DNS entries. All seems to be working fine. We then have a web server hosting our website companionsoftware.com.au and our subdomain email attachments.companionsoftware.com.au (pop3/smtp). now for this one company when they try and email [email protected].au it's connecting to STMP on attachments.companionsoftware.com.au. Now attachments.companionsoftware.com.au and companionsoftware.com.au have the same ip address, but this is only affecting one person (that we know of) when they try and email us. Have i configured something wrong or is it their server?

• Wrong perspective is showing in Eclipse plugin project [closed]

  I am working in Eclipse Modeling Framework (Eclipse plugin development) in my project the tool(project i am working) provides three perspectives. 1.Accelerator Analyst perspective 2.Contract Validation and 3.Underwriter rules Editor... By default it starts with Contract validation perspective (As we define it within the plugin_customization.ini). However after switching to other perspective does not change the perspective shown... As all perspective (Class, Id and Name) is define only inside Plugin.XML as it is the task of org.eclipse.ui.perspective that that perspective name should be come forefront. Out of 10 7 times it is working fine but I am not getting why this is not working in that 3 cases. • NHibernate: How is identity Id updated when saving a transient instance?

  If I use session-per-transaction and call: session.SaveOrUpdate(entity) corrected: session.SaveOrUpdateCopy(entity) ..and entity is a transient instance with identity-Id=0. Shall the above line automatically update the Id of the entity, and make the instance persistent? Or should it do so on transaction.Commit? Or do I have to somehow code that explicitly? Obviously the Id of the database row (new, since transient) is autogenerated and saved as some number, but I'm talking about the actual parameter instance here. Which is the business logic instance. • Configuration "diff" across Oracle WebCenter Sites instances

  Problem Statement With many Oracle WebCenter Sites environments - how do you know if the various configuration assets and settings are in sync across all of those environments? Background At Oracle we typically have a "W" shaped set of environments.  For the "Production" environments we typically have a disaster recovery clone as well and sometimes additional QA environments alongside the production management environment. In the case of www.java.com we have 10 different environments. All configuration assets/settings (CSElements, Templates, Start Menus etc..) start life on the Development Management environment and are then published downstream to other environments as part of the software development lifecycle. Ensuring that each of these 10 environments has the same set of Templates, CSElements, StartMenus, TreeTabs etc.. is impossible to do efficiently without automation. Solution Summary  The solution comprises of two components. A JSON data feed from each environment. A simple HTML page that consumes these JSON data feeds.  Data Feed: Create a JSON WebService on each environment. The WebService is no more than a SiteEntry + CSElement. The CSElement queries various DB tables to obtain details of the assets/settings returning this data in a JSON feed. Report: Create a simple HTML page that uses JQuery to fetch the JSON feed from each environment and display the results in a table. Since all assets (CSElements, Templates etc..) are published between environments they will have the same last modified date. If the last modified date of an asset is different in the JSON feed or is mising from an environment entirely then highlight that in the report table. Example Solution Details Step 1: Create a Site Entry + CSElement that outputs JSON Site Entry & CSElement Setup  The SiteEntry should be uncached so that the most recent configuration information is returned at all times. In the CSElement set the contenttype accordingly: Step 2: Write the CSElement Logic The basic logic, that we repeat for each asset or setting that we are interested in, is to query the DB using <ics:sql> and then loop over the resultset with <ics:listloop>. • Disk Drive not working

  The CD/DVD drive on my sisters' (I'm helping her shift from Win. XP (now officially deprecated by Microsoft) to Ubuntu) system. Now, it may end up being a failed attempt, all together (Almost the whole last year (when she's been on XP) the disk drive hasn't (not even powering on) been working.), I just want to make sure I've explored every remote possibility. Because I figure, "Huh, now that I've got Ubuntu running, instead of XP, that (just) might make a difference.". I have tried using the sudo lshw command in the terminal, to (seemingly) no avil, but, who knows, you might be able to make something out of it. • Refactoring an ERB Template to Haml

  ERB is the default view templating system used by Ruby on Rails. Haml is an alternative templating system that uses whitespace to represent document structure. This post is about a ruby project but nhaml makes haml available for asp.net MVC also. The ERB Template Today I spent some time refactoring an ERB template to Haml. Summary I am extremely happy with the switch. No doubt there are further improvements that I can make, but I feel like what I have now is clean and well factored.

To get a list of WebPartZone objects for a page that a webpart lives on can be done with the following code:  foreach (WebPartZone zone in this.WebPartManager.Zones) {          this.Controls.Add(new LiteralControl(zone.ID + "<br />")); } Use this code in a webpart that inherits from Microsoft.SharePoint.WebPartPages.WebPart. This is a simple way to do the equivalent of a Response.Write while having the output in the webpart zone your part resides in.  It also saves you from attaching to the process and debugging with the watch or quick watch.   I recently looked at my router log. Why are a lot of requests that I don't send originated from a computer in my home network? They do not look like 3rd-party advertisements / images embedded in a page. • A tale of two user ids: Why does NFS not recognize a new user id?

  I have two servers running RHEL6. The main server, which I will refer to as server, is a database server. The application server, which I will refer to as client, mounts a directory from server via NFS. There is a user, appuser, on both client and server. However, appuser's id on client is 502. appuser's id on server is 506. Both users need read and write capability on the NFS share. To facilitate this, I made the share owned by appuser on server. Of course, client does not recognize that ownership, since appuser has a different id on client. So I did the following: Changed id of user in /etc/passwd on client to be 506 **Changed ownership of appuser's $HOME on client to be appuser again so that I could log in. Now, when I go to look at the NFS share from the client side, I see that it is owned by 502. 502 is the OLD id for appuser on client. I can't change ownership of the NFS share from client, since that is a volume that physically resides on server. I need to make sure that the NFS share shows ownership of appuser from both server and client. What step have I missed since changing the appuser id on client? NOTE: I have not rebooted client or done anything else yet.

• Good set of web hosting permissions?

  Hey guys, I just got a linode and I'm in the process of configuring it. It's running nginx with php-fpm and passenger. nginx was compiled and is running as user nginx. php-fpm (php with fastcgi process manager) is running as www-data (in group www-data). My sites are currently in /var/www, so for example /var/www/test.com I'm just wondering what the general 'flow' of things is. So for example, /var/www is owned by root, should I chown of /var/www/test.com to nginx or www-data? Or should I put nginx in the www-data group? How should site uploading work, I just transfer files to the /var/www/test.com directory as root (sudo) and then chown -R www-data:www-data .? Thanks. I'm capable of figuring things out on my own, I'm just wondering what the typical/general way of handling users/groups/permissions/site-files is on linux with a webserver.

My intention is to have my advertisement blocked, avoiding automatic blocking is easy enough... I was thinking of maybe lending some ids or classes from big advertisment companies that area already being fought off quite actively. right now my html <ul id=partners> <li class=advertisment><a href=# class=sponsor><img class=banner></a></li> </ul> Will this work or is there a more solid approach?
